Smart actions based on location not responsive enough - Motorola Atrix HD

I have a Smart Action for Home and Work based on location. But for some reason it takes forever for it to realize I'm not Home anymore and then there are conflicts between the Home and Drive Smart actions. Is there anyway for it to deactivate a Smart Action quicker when triggered by location??

I'm not super impressed with Smart Actions. I'd be better if there was a "Not at Location" setting. When you leave a certain WiFi network, it'd switch....or even better with NFC & programmable NFC tags...

I also agree, there needs to be a negation available for the location based rules to do some of the things I've thought of trying with smartactions.

Do you have any other apps that may be conflicting with Smart Actions? (JuiceDefender's location settings, for example)

I don't believe so.
I have noticed if I open Maps, that it refreshes my location and then updates the Smart Action (that's based on location).

Do you have the setting enabled in Smart Actions which uses Motorola's locations service?

Widget for turning off location awareness? (in addition to GPS)

(caveat: this is for Sprint Hero)
Does anyone know of a widget that will turn off ALL location based settings? Obviously there's the builtin widget from HTC for GPS.. but heres what I mean - follow this into the settings..
Settings>Location
There's checkboxes in here for
-Wireless Networks
-Location Setting
-GPS
The builtin widget only turns off the GPS checkbox. I want to turn on/off all three of these settings at once, or even via separate widgets is acceptable.
I can't seem to find anything that will allow me to do this. Anyone know of anything?
Just trying to turn off anything I can to help conserve battery. I'm not a big location-based user so I can live without these features. If I want mapping or location stuff I want to be able to turn all of it on/off without menu diving.
Can't wait for Seidio or whomever to release a big battery for this phone. I can't get a full day, presumably because of things keeping radios/connections alive.

Trusted places

I take it Blu does not allow us to use Google smart lock trusted places on this phone. I have only been able to use BT trusted devices.
Anybody?
It doesn't work, not even the Bluetooth smart lock.
For now you'll have to use a third party alternative like Tasker or Trigger.
I create a Trigger task that uses combination of geolocation + wifi connection to disable the lock screen while at home.

The MIcrosoft Next lock screen app has location based trusted places. It only has home and work, but that might be enough.

I cannot find the location based trusted places in the Next lockscreen app or in the system settings. Where is this option?

Yeah, the setting is hidden at first for some reason.
1. You have to first enable the Next screen lock instead of system lock in the apps "Screen lock" settings choosing "Pin" or "Pattern"
2. Exit out of settings and turn off display
3. Turn on the phone and select the "Auto" text with the location symbol at the bottom left of the screen above the apps on the Next lock screen.
4. Choose Home
5. Go into Next lock settings, "Screen lock", then "Smart Lock" and enable "Trusted location home"
6. Repeat 3 to 5 to choose the work location when at work.

Thanks for the reply, but I have stopped using Next since I use the modded system ui to have music controls in the lock screen and for some reason Next has music lock screen controls but none of them pop up when I use Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio.

Is there a way to toggle a secure lock screen?

Benzo Rom for the Nexus 6 running 5.1.1 Lollipop allows the ability to toggle a secure lock screen from the quick settings in the notification drawer. For example, from the launcher, I can pull down the notification drawer to access the quick settings panel and tap the lock screen option and it will automatically engage the lock screen even if there was a password/pattern/gesture/pin, etc. previously setup. If I tap it again, it will remove the secure lock screen.
My concern is that this feature was built into the custom ROM itself and I don't know an alternate solution to this. Is there any solution to achieve this?

I think starting in MM (6.0), Google locked down this feature in favor of the smart lock function. You can set a trusted place, trusted device (bluetooth or NFC), trusted face or unlock until it detects it's been set down (on body). More information
I think, because the intents/secure action has been removed, it's not going to be something offered as a quick tile. I'm not aware of a work around.
That said, it's possible a ROM like lineage might offer this type of functionality.

I am currently running Pure Nexus Android 7.1.2 and have done some extensive digging to realize that a lot of keyguard and lockscreen solutions for Nougat and Marshmallow aren't working at all.
Taskers keyguard toggle option as well as Secure Settings keyguard toggle and lock screen features are broken and not working.
Secure settings is pretty old and outdated as it's been well over 2 years since it's been updated. The only options left are Taskers AutoInput looks really painful and the only other option is SecureTasks. The thing with SecureTasks is that it's relatively new and hasn't been tested long term and the method to gain device ownership looks really sketchy.

Activating quick setting tile of a 3rd party app using Tasker possible?

I've seen a lot of automation apps that allow you to make a quick settings tile to perform custom tasks, but I want to do the reverse. Certain apps on my phone like PIA VPN have a quick settings tile and it's the only way to toggle the VPN without the UI showing up. I would like to use it with MacroDroid/Tasker. Is there a universal method of activating quick settings tile of a 3rd party app with Tasker/MacroDroid without touch shenanigans? Thanks.
I've seen on Reddit that you can potentially do this through Tasker's "Launch App" action.
When you're in the screen selection for the app, instead of taping on the app (here PIA VPN), long press on it and you'll see some different options. Hopefully there is one related to the tile. Reddit post mentions it as: LaunchVPNForTileService

I use PIA also but I run mine through OpenVPN. I can connect and disconnect through it whenever I am connected through my work network. It does pop up the app but it closes automatically. On disconnect, it doesn't show

Yeah, for PIA, there happens to be a tile service activity which can be used to do the same as it's quick setting tile, but this doesn't seem to be universal. Even Shazam has a tile to auto-shazam, but there isn't any tile service activity associated with it that I could find. (Not that I want to use auto-shazam with tasker.) I was wondering whether there was a universal solution to this, just like how IntentTask allows you to use ANY app shortcut with Tasker. Guess we'll have to wait until some dev comes up with an app to solve this problem. Thanks.

How to activate/deactivate a qs tile upon screen off/on?

In android 10,a new feature called as TURN ALL SENSORS OFF is available in developer settings. It also has a qs tile.
Is there a way to automatically enable this feature upon screen off and then disable upon screen on?
The obvious answer is absolutely yes using AutoInput to emulate the touches. That can also be done with more effort using just built in Tasker actions.
However, it's possible (likely?) That there is a secure setting that controls this action. You can sort that out by comparing the secure settings before and after toggling the tile. The AutoTools secure settings action has an assistant that may help you sort this out.

1) In android 10,there is an option to disable all sensors in developer options. So i turned it on last night, and battery drain was less than 2 % in 4 hrs, compared to 1% per hour usually, with volte and 4g data on. I would get more accurate stats later on.
There's a qs tile available to activate it.
What I want to ask is, is there a way to automatically enable it every time the screen goes off, and then disable it when screen goes on, without any user input?Either as a shortcut or as a qs tile.
2) I am afraid i don't have enough knowledge to exactly understand the steps you are telling. Do you know of a pre made recipe to execute this. I tried to search but in vain. Or if you are on android 10,maybe you can try doing what i need.
Thank you.
There are loads of tutorials available to use the AutoInput plugin.
As far as issuing the native tasker custom setting action;
Create a new task
Add a Settings -> Custom Setting action
A developer settings action is probably a global setting but you may have to explore
When you are in the configuration for the Custom Setting action, use the magnifying glass and Find to identify the setting you want. A pop-up will appear directing you to ok out of the instructions then go to the setting you want to manage, activate the setting and return to Tasker. Then hit the magnifying glass again and if the setting was identified, it will display in the pop-up where you can select it.
No offence, even if I were on A10, this can be done with a basic understanding of Tasker so I wouldn't create a project for it. If you are still unsure what to do, please take the time to work through some basic tasker tutorials to gain familiarity with the app.
