JB 4.1 Sources Out - All discussions here! - LG Optimus 2x

Welcome to new thread....We got what we demand interms of ICS...now its the time for JB....
Lets rock

I was just thinking about this one. How to work against the (finally) positive vibe running through the O2x forum. Close it for now, we will work on 4.1 after we get ICS running on P990

But there won't be official JB for P990, so what is point of this thread.

Discuss about JB and the possibility of JB on P990?

And the only interesting thing about it - Project Butter - is probably not even portable for Custom Roms. But let's wait... it's too early.

I am pretty sure we won't be getting 'official JB' on our phone....even if LG claims to provide it

This rom is based on Stock LG Rom (without any changes to UI), don't install any Tweak packs just download and flash the rom.

Sad, but true Im afraid :-(. I never expect 2.3 EVER to come to the 2X. If it does, it will no doubt be as bad as 2.2 is!!.
a few german news sites means, official 2.3.4 come next 3 weeks.
we will see ^^
It will come.
If not, we can all return our phones for a full refund because the update was advertised on the boxes right? ^^

Android 2.3.4 WILL come! At the moment, the german (and maybe other) providers are testing Gingerbread.
Klick!!!
How come that LG doesn't update the kernel to 2.6.35 of newer? Lazyness?

General concenus is that it's a huge amount of work for very little gain to move to 2.6.36
Motorola is doing the same with the Gingerbread update for the Atrix. That is, not updating the kernel.
LG have only 3 weeks to release GB maby its this a reason for old kernel.

What are you talking about??? Its not like LG started to create the update from today! It has been months underway!
It shouldn't take 6 months for LG to update the kernel.. Just look at samsung. Galaxy S got gingerbread short after the source code was released.. WITH an updated kernel :O I wonder if they base gingerbread of 2.6.32 just to get the update out, and to update it later, or if they'll never update it It's a shame, really..=(

Who wants that old 2.6 kernel anyways?
LG was waiting for 3.0....
Sent from my LG Optimus 2x using XDA Premium App
I think thei will update the kernel
On the final build at least i hope so ...10d update its super fast i dont feel the need for ginger much

Galnet ICS

Android version says 4.0.1. I'd post a screenshot but my xda app crashes. Check it out
http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/ics-builds/
You think these are really ICS-based?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda premium
Miui is based on Cyanogenmod, cyanogenmod is not on ics yet therefore this is not ICS.
They used the ics framework i think.
(Correct me if im wrong on this)

Yep. I believe you're right. Could be just framework and they bumped up the version number.
Here are some reads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348394
http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/landing....2-for-i9000-i9100-and-i897-available-to-test!
After reading through the ICS thread it looks to me like this is a hybrid of GB + ICS. From what I understand, it's ICS framework on GB core. But I have no knowledge up to what extent. I've been trying it out for more than a day now and it looks good so far.

You could actually compare the roms and then specify why official is the best for you, not just say it's the best..

I mean it's faster and more stable.
But i have used aokp on my phone ever since aokp ics was released for ob and i've never looked back

On aokp I found it solid day to day but a little sluggish. Cm10 as of today is the best for me. Aokp will off course catch up and probably surpass it with xda love

We need kernel source first for CWM. Motorola uploaded it in a broken tar.gz, so no one can use it.
Jellybean is coming by the end of the year I believe they said. I am working on it... check out the Jellybean RAZR M leak of mine from their xda General section
How stupid is motorola ?! XD
No statement by them?
I really need cwm, it saved my life million times
And since i am running cm 10 on my old p500 lg optimus one i really require jb on my new phone !!!

If you are rooted and unlocked you can make your own backup files for fastboot flashing. CWM is nice but not needed without a kernel source anyway.

I wouldn't be so sure... Francesco (Carburano) already said there will be DM 2.0. Stefan also mentioned he will be working on a custom kernel, and I am sure we can expect a new Gueste ROM from him. I suspect Flix123 will also have something interesting for us. So, I definitely expect a good variety of nicely tweaked stock-based ICS ROMs.
As for the ETA, I'd say it will happen as soon as it happens...
I hope too!!!

I`m pretty sure if there would be a stock ics custom rom like Django Manouche or guest hybrid GB, These custom roms would be much better than cm10. I will follow stefan now! Thx again!!!

Stephan where are you??? Pls! Come back!! Wonderful job would be a hybrid of Stock LG ICS and cm10 with lg ics camera and other apps ported from stock!!! I`m prety sure users miss u!!!
