High Capacity Battery charge problem on HTC Sensation XL - HTC Sensation XL

I purchased 2 high capacity (2450mAh) batteries from ebay for my HTC Sensation XL, but batteries never charged more than 89% on my phone, when I charge with external charger they can be fully charged, is there any one any who has an idea how to fix this problem??
thanks,

No there isn't another way. That is always the issue with high capacity batteries. Just use your external charger

Hey dude i had bought them too from ecell...its just a scam...im sorry they tricked us both

No they didn't trick you. I have a MUGEN 3600mAh with the ugly back cover for mine. And it stops at 87-89% to charge. Someone has explained to me that due to software the phone itself can't charge it more.

its a 1 trick but its need to be more more changes in kernel to take it to 100% charged

Yes stona175. Thanks for explaining man
Power managment comes from the kernel and it is a pain in the as* to make everything right.

Rest assured you're not the only one with this problem:

Using other HTC batteries in HD7

Hi Just a Thought
was wondering if we could use Other batteries from the HTC range of phones for our HD7 as the newer phones have around1600 mAH batteries.
Like the HTC sensation XE HTc Rhyme.
The reason for asking is as the other higher capacity batteries available for the HD7 are so big they make your phone look ugly, so this is something I am looking into.
The only thing I was wondering though is the voltage of the batteries which might make a problem.
Any one willing to shed some light is welcome
Mugen Power - 3900mAh
If u referring to other htc phone batteries
The htc wildfire S is the only phone which shares the same battery as hd7 but it is still the same 1230 mah .
Of cos u can use any aftermarket , china or mugen batteries with hd7 so long they are compatible

The Anker 1300mAH battery is a good one.

HTC Sensation XL battery duration?

you're battery experience with this phone?
good,bad?
Very Good!
good use returns me minumum 2 days between charges
is there a diference in custom and stock rom?
im wondering just about battery usage?
Have to charge it every day, but doesnt bother me!
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
Charger at home and at work, so is plugged in and charging most of the time anyway, but even when i don't bother it'll last the day with moderate use (the signal is awful round here, so it drains it a bit quicker..)
I have a problem with the battery of my new Sensation XL.
When I charge the battery, even after several hours of charging, the maximum charge level reaches 86%, not more. I have just got the phone few days ago and I am trying to get the battery down to zero before I charge it. After the first charge the maximum level of charge was 75%, after the second and third one it was 86%.
Anyone with some idea? Is the battery damaged?
Thanks
Gianpietro
sounds like the wrong battery.
For example, the battery from the standard sensation only charges to 89% cos the voltage is .1v down on what it should be. Many replacement batteris have the same issue, such as the Mugen and Anker ones.
if it's definitely the right one, then it could well be a bad one and need replacing.
what exactly does it say on it?
it should match the XL battery here if it's the right one...

This is what is printed in my battery: Rating 3.7 VDC 1520 mAh 5.62 Whr.
that's not the right battery. The XL battery should be a 1600mah 3.8v battery with 6.08 whr.
Seems someone's switched the battery on you.
My bat stays for 2-3 days. including approx 30 min talk per day, approx 1-1,5 h internet usage per day. Mobile data always on. 3 emails syncing every hour. Weather syncing every 3 hours. In standbay phone is consuming 18-22 mA/h. In stand bay 1% is droping every 5-8 hours.

That would explain it. Capacity too small and voltage too low.

This is a known issue, and it is because of the battery driver from within the kernel, i tried to work on it but suspended my work for now.
Probably i will work on this on a later date.
then what's the solution for our problem,
i read somewhere that 1950mAh batteries are compatible for Sensation XL, does anybody tried already???

I have same problem. I had the original battery which was about 14 months old. Suddenly it started draining really fast, like 70% within
an hour or half. When it reached around 30% phone closed. When I turned it on, it said there was 4-6%.
Last week I purchased new Insmat 1700mAh battery and charget it phone turned off about 10 hours.
It only got to 84%. Now I´ve drained it and charged it couple of times and it reaches that 89% but no more than that.

For all that wants a new battery for their phone :
If you buy another one you will have to check if the voltage on the new battery is the same as on the stock battery. For now until someone makes another kernel for bigger battery, if you buy another battery with more miliamps on you will not get it to charge over 89% because bigger battery is running 0.1 volts higher than stock. The phone runs just fine with it but it can't fully charge it unless another kernel is made for it or unless you use an external charger, with that I mean , pulling battery out and charge it with another charger. And insert it again while fully charged

Thanks for that info anders3408! Battery still works great and lasts long.
External Charger, i don't understand what you're saying, can you say once again clearly, to get an external charger what i have to do?

I think he meant desktop/external charger. By using them, you can charge battery full. Not when its in the phone. Maybe its related to kernels, I dunno.

how much battery is charged is controled by the kernel, so in theory , if someone editted kernel then we can charge battery to full.
If you will use a bigger battery you need to use external charger to charge it full, and yes by external charger i mean a charger you can put the battery in, so it is pulled out of the phone

Im really bad with this sort of things cos i can only say what is working and what not. And maybe why...
But to you who know better. If its because of kernel, would it be hard thing to repair since there is custom kernels out there?

Incredible S Battery/Charging Issue

Hey guys
I have an HTC Incredible S which doesn't want to charge. I thought it was a problem with the charging port as it felt loose so I went and got a universal battery charger to charge the battery. However the battery will not charge using this charger. At this point I am thinking that the battery has failed and wish to test it. I also have a HTC Sensation, now the battery from the Sensation will not fit as they are completely different sizes, so I am planning to wire the Sensation battery up to the Incredible S just to test to see if it will power on.
My question is, will this damage the Incredible S or the battery? If the phone powers on and works it means I simply have to grab a new battery for the Incredible S and away I go. I had a quick look at from what I could gather the voltage is the same however I would rather someone confirm this. I understand the mah are different but this only effects the amount of charge not the strength?
I should note that the Incredible S has gone swimming about a year ago and while it dried out and worked fine, it could have finally corroded and died.
Thanks
Buy a battery and test.
Press thanks if I helped you out!

Thats pretty much every Incredible S. Unless you dont wanna go through multiple charging cycles (charge full, unplug, plug till charge full, and reapeat) then i would suggest just leave as is cuz as u might be aware the more u charge things, the shorter the battery life gets.

I would be nervous to do that, but I suppose if you look at the back of the batteries, and all the stats are the same, I don't see how it would hurt. Still wouldn't want to do that on my own phone, though.
