Will Windows Phone 8 Be Bootable on HBOOT Devices? - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi There!
I know Windows Phone 7 can't boot with HBOOT, but maybe WP8 can?
If so, will it be possible to boot it on current Android devices?
Thanks for helpers!

From what it says on this blog wp8 won't be running on anything it wasn't intended for:
"These new Windows Phone 8 security features also make it obvious as to why Windows Phone 8 will not run on current Windows Phone devices… they lack a chip that has been burned with security keys for the platform, OEM, and device."

Who will dare to install this ;-) For me, I won't plunge until I get a RTM version in my hands.
And....
Sorry to be stupid but can you explain to me what is this?
This is a bios you flash with the bios update utility from HTC, that is supposed to mimic a lenovo laptop. Using this bios, you're supposed to be able to install windows 7 without activation.

No it isn't, try again.
Upgrade bios and then install Windows 7 which should auto-active due to SLIC OEM
WINZIP reported this as a faulty archive. But 7-ZIP was able to extract without a problem

If you want to install the RC version - you dont need to install this BIOS.
If you want the RTM build - then you need the BIOS update
Ahh, thank you. but the RTM Version is at the moment not available - (RTM is the same, like the original or the OEM Version?)
RTM for download tomorrow
According to Microsoft, MSDN subscribers and Tecnhet people will be able to download the RTM version tomorrow.
Fingers crossed.
For about 100-200 euro's you can get an MSDN subscription, it will let
you download ALL Microsoft software with keyz !

Anyone with better skills than me with WinHex could analize bios portion about SD Access,Wireless,Cpu Fsb etc?
A way for the solutions?
Hello Guys!
Searching for some tools to see inside this bios I've found this page.
http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sis-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=000004;p=0
The tool "read-write everything" shows a lot of useful infos for our shift (you have to install it on the shift to let it works).
Maybe some of you more skilled than me can use the other tools to hack the rom for liberate sd and wifi ecc...(if the wall is inside the bios rom of course..)
good holidays!

upgrade rom htc hd with WM7 64bit

upgrade rom htc hd with Windows 7 64bit creates a problem? can do it without active sync?
edit: does not make me change the title
just copy the .nbh file in your sdcard root and rename it BLACIMG.nbh, turn off the phone and keep pressed vol down + power button, job done, happy flashing.
btw i'm using windows 7 64bit and works fine, you can flash without worries.
What you can try, is to place the HD in tricolor mode, when the device is off, push on the low sound button and keep it press while pushing the power button until you see the tri-color mode.
After that, connect your HD trought USB to your PC. Wait until the PC have load the drivers.
And Run the rom upgrade program "as an administrator".
Normally, it should work.
ALF it works also the old way, just run the RuuWrapper that comes with the rom and it will ask for administrator privileges, press next and update the rom. This method needs active sync.
W7 64 bit and touch HD
I have all my computers with windows 7 64 bit. I have no problem sync the HD, or flash. I have not seen anyone comment about it, so here you go- from trying it, no problems at all. Actully, it works better than it was with XP.

Please optimize the head of this Thread from "with WM7 x64" to "via Win7 x64". I was really confused cause I wondered if I could find an early WM7 (Windows Mobile 7) in an 64 bit edition in here. Maybe you could change the title to not confuse any more people? WM7 -> Win7!
Thanks,
Future
you know the USPL 2.5 works with Windows Vista?
can someone give a full "step-by-step" to perform the ROM upgrade successfully?
Hi, I referred to this web page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3625567&postcount=272
It does not sound as easy as this topic. I tried to upgrade the driver, wceusbsh.sys, Windows does not allow it (said does not match the manufacturer), and the steps given do not work at all. What other software is needed? Please provide link to get them.
I am trying to upgrade from WM6.1 to TOUCH_HD_WWE_21882_231109 (Duly maryone). Thanks for helping. I am using Windows 7 64-bits.
There aren't problems with Windows 7 64-bit and rom flashes. Also, your thread has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 so please correct the erroneous subject.

are you sure you understand the issue?
Win7 driver for HTC USB is NOT compatible with those RUU Loader.
And you need to restore the XP one which DOES NOT have digital signature.
Win7 users need to press F8 before booting windows and choose disable signature check (something like that) option. And you will be able to install the unsigned driver for flashing.
So, please correct your erroneous statement.

[Q] How to synchronize the Smarphone to Windows 7 OS?

Hi there, I have some annoying problem..
ActiveSync and Windows Connection Manager for Mobiles can't running on my OS.
Are there some other alternativities?
I want to downgrade my Smartphone OS with Goldcard tool, but I can't without that program. -.-
I need help!
I forget one more thing..
Can anyone should me some new about the SOS (Smartphone Operative System) 7 Tango?
I watch same one thread on this forum, but I don't understand, there is a new full unlocked realease??
Thanks a lot!
I always have problems with activesync too. I would try updating your drivers for ActiveSync first, if that doesn't work you could uninstall and then reinstall ActiveSync to try an establish a connection.
Most of the custom roms available fully unlock your device and are operating the Tango version, which adds a couple features to your device like more theme colors, internet sharing and so on, but also allow the devise to sideload homebrew apps through xap program.
what's your devices information when in bootloader mode?
Are you using shadows tutorial to try and downgrade you spl here?

Hi, thank you for the answer
Anyway no, ActiveSync never start on my Windows, cause before the install the program should me some error message of incompatibility.
I don't know how to find some other solutions.. -.-
My bootloader information are:
PD29100 SS-BC (4K)
SPL-5.11.2250.0 (123578) MNG <---
MicroP(LED) 0x07
TOUCH S1(v1.8,#1624)
Yes, I read that tutorial but is the same of that I did
What version of windows are you running on your PC? It can't be a virtual os either! When I downgraded my spl, I had to use a computer that I had never connected my hd7 too before to get it to work properly. So if you have access to a different computer I would try that and see of it will work for you.

My orginally OS version is Windows 7 Starter, but It's fully custimized.
Now it's look like the Ultimate version. asd
Anyway no, it's not a virtual version.
I tried more ways in this week, but never my PC don't want running that Mobile Device Center.
I readed online about the compatibilities of the Windows Device Center for Mobile, not running with the Windows Phone 7.

Custom Ativ S theme colors

You need to interop unlock your ATIV S first and install SamWP8 Tools by -W_O_L_F- through Windows Phone 8 SDK -> Application Deployment. If you need more info on how to install Windows Phone 8 SDK on Windows 7 visit this thread. If you have Windows 8, you can install the SDK from the Microsoft website itself. You need to register your phone first through the Windows Phone Developer Registration application included in the SDK before you can deploy apps on your phone.
Yeah, essentially what @bruce142 said. You can follow the steps in the FAQ for getting a devunlock and doing the InteropUnlock. I'll need to make a new Q for what can I do with an InteropUnlocked device.

Cannot flash anything

Hi! So, here`s a problem. I`ve got Desire C, that boots only in bootloader\fastboot. In ADB\fastboot mode my PC can`t see this device, regarding all needed drivers are installed (I guess... maybe not. Can anyone show me the full list to be sure? I use Dell Vostro 3500 with Win 11 If this is relevant)
Anyway, bootloader is locked, S-OFF & with SD-card inserted, during boot it shows:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PL01DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PL01DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PL01IMG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PL01IMG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PL01IMG.tar]
No image!
Loading...[PL01IMG.aes]

So my questions are: what are these PL01... files and where can I get them? What drivers do I need to see the phone in fastboot mode and where can I get them? Cuz almost every link I find is outdated.
P.S. I realized, this phone became to me something like an old car, my dad is always fixing but It`s never starts))

Older HTCs will not work with anything above Windows 7
So you need either Windows 7 or Linux to work with Desire C

Thanks! That worked!
For everyone else facing the same problem. Seems like drivers work only on windows 7 (any edition, I worked on Starter-based PC).
I wonder why later wersions of Windows can`t work with these drivers properly?
