Well I have the P3113 which I bought at best buy at it has an IR blaster...
I know the file isnt flashable with CWM, I just want to know is there a root method for after installation of the rom, as I would like to use some apps that require root. I can't seem to find a thread about that. I saw a thread for how to root p3100 jb but not p3113.

I think only the US model has the IR blaster

There is definitely an ir blaster on my p3113.I believe I read somewhere only U.S wifi models got ir.I could be wrong.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium HD app

Does anyone with an IR blaster on this rom, know if it works? I only ask because I use the IR blaster and I know the JB leak for P3100 (international version) does not have the IR blaster support.
Also how does one root this rom once it's installed? (I know you have to odin back to stock to install the rom, but I mean after I've done all that and gotten the rom installed, etc.).

Did you guys not read the thread? Lol. I said yes there is root, and that the IR blaster doesn't work on my p3113.
After you flash the new ota, flash cwm via Odin. Then reboot into recovery right away, and flash fix recovery, then cwm root. After that wipe data and cache, then reboot.

Did you just use the same files used with ICS 4.04 <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788625>? I just want to make sure I don't boink my tab...
Also for anyone that has flashed to JB, were you able to get adobe flash to work with the stock browser or did you have to use a different browser?

So Sam mobile has just posted a unofficial 4.1.1 N7000XXLS2_N7000OXXLS2 rom for the OG Galaxy note. I really wanna try it but what scares me is that it has an exclamation mark next to the download link. Has any one tried it yet? What's the best and safest was to flash it? Thanks.

I'm on the leaked ls2, so long as you flash correctly doing clean install, all snote and sapps working fine now issues here. A lot of people are doing a dirty install which doesn't leave space for bloatware including sapps to install.

Pls help,Can't get into any recovery at all

Hi everyone
I have just gotten a Samsung galaxy mini. I rooted it and unlocked it okay.
But then I wanted to flash rom and stuff, so I downloaded Odin, and flashed cwm, but... When Odin says pass, it press home + power and the Samsung screen flashed twice and sticks.
But the strangest thing is that it can still boot into android sometimes.
I am on android 2.2.1
iBook anybody can help as it is worrying me a lot
before flashing rom or CWM you will need to upgrade to gingerbread either through odin or Kies
and then flash cwm and after that flash rom with cwm
Thanks for the reply
I can't seem to upgrade via kies, can you provide a link that contains stock Roms for my samsung that can be upgraded via Odin.
Is there any chance of bricking at all?
Do you need any other info?
Thanks

I think you're confusing unlocked with rooted. A custom rom is typically rooted but you will still be locked to your carrier. To unlock you need to get a code from your carrier, they generally are reluctant to do this, or buy one on line.

How to root Rogers Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE SGH-I957R??
Hey guys,
I've been searching and searching for a way to root my Galaxy tab 8.9 lte from Rogers in Canada. The model is SGH-I957R. I have it updated to ICS so I'm hoping it's still possible, or maybe I could flash back to 3.2 and then root it but I can't find a file to let me flash it back either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am wanting a subsidy unlock. It is alreaddy rooted you can't run dannyrom2 without it rooyed. If the only way to unlock it is by requesting code and not flashing then that's the option I only have . Unless... hoping for the clutch post....

To root, first flash this http:\\d-h.st/fqw (TWRP) in odin PDA. This will install the custom recovery. Then place this http:\\d-h.st/vjq (super SU-busybox) on your sd card in the tab. Just put it somewhere where you'll remember where. Boot into the custom recovery, hold power and vol. up until you see the samsung logo and release power while still holding vol. In custom recovery install super SU-busybox. You'll be rooted! Once on your tab open super SU and it will ask you to upgrade to the latest. All files have been tested on my i957.
That's awesome, thanks for the info. I'm about to try it right now.

Just flash the rom and then gapps in the custom recovery like you did super su. Except before flashing the rom wipe cache, dalvic, and system and factory reset. Wiping system will remove all ROMs so don't boot up before flashing your new rom. If you do you could brick your device.
And back everything up first. Factory reset will delete all your apps and settings.
PS, most custom roms are rooted so you didn't need to root your device first, just needed to install jb rom.

See nrvates building cm10. In the i957 development forum. Download the rom and gapps [Google apps]. In twrp do the wipes mentioned in my last post. Flash the rom just like you did the super su then flash the gapps (both in twrp) The last post in nrvates thread has a link to the rom. If the gapps link isn't working Google latest gapps and download one ending in something like 21011, don't remember exactly what it is. Then boot and you'll be running cm10 jelly bean.

I can still boot back into twrp to flash something else to get it working again but I'm wondering if there's anything obvious that I may have done wrong. I wiped dalvik and cache and system and factory reset. Will this rom work on the i957r from Rogers? This is the tablet that I have. I noticed the file for the rom has att in the file name.
