try to re-flash the rom.
and if your phone gets start when pressing vol up+home+power key and shows boot animation then your home key is safe in my opinion.

Firstly, you should know custom roms for "cooperve" are designed to run only on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i and not on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. Only custom roms for "cooper" are designed to run on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. Due to hardware differences, running cooperve roms or kernels on Samsung Galaxy Ace can brick your phone. Sadly you have bricked your phone. But @SuperMini has provided us with a rather simple guide on how to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace. Go through the entire thread and you will get to know all the possible solutions. Here is the link,

Can you try switching the USB ports? Also try to enter Download mode by pressing Vol Down+ Power+ Home button as per the guide again. Pressing Vol Up+ Power+ Home button makes your phone to enter RAM Dump mode. Also inside odin, unselect "Protect OPS" option and give it a try. Do post your result. Hope I Helped

It's strange. VOL-DOWN + HOME + POWER combination should brings Ace to download mode, and VOL-UP+ HOME + POWER combination brings Ace to ramdump screen.
For flashing stock ROM purpose, Mobile Odin may help.

you are able to get into recovery mode, right?
why you do not download other custom rom & trying to flash via recovery/cwm?

Yes, I can enter Recovery Mode. In fact, I was thinking about this, but I have no idea what custom ROM I should install.
Could any of you recommend me the easiest one to install?
Please, consider that my PC is very outdated, so I hope I don't have to install any software or download any heavy file.
I just want to go back to the stock firmware after I flash the custom one, so I don't care what feature the custom rom has.
Thank you all for your answers
