Fruit Ninja THD (Tegra HD) Edition

Another Tegra powered game available now that the XOOM has been launched. Works well on the gtab.

Very cool. Hopefully more companies decide to jump on the bandwagon too.
Somebody who bought this,
Does this have any more stuff in it than just the original game, or just better graphics. Im content saving the three bucks since I already have the original if there is nothing else new. Thanks

is there a chance to play the THD version of fruit ninja on a non-tegra phone? i mean a high end smartphone like SGS or nexus or whatever with a hack of course...is there a hope?
The original Fruit Ninja looks gorgeous already on 3 to 4 inch screens so the THD version may seem like an an overkill for them. In fact i run the THD version on my Gtab and normal version on my HTC Desire and they look exactly the same.

That's the point though... imho... 4 inches streached to 10 looks like drippy monkey poo. Something DESIGNED for 10 inches looks it should with no pixelation.
This game is fun, imho and well done graphics-wise.

Gameloft Games

Has anyone got ANY Gameloft games to work on their GTab? I have heard of people getting HAWX or Asphalt 5 working but when I install those they only take up 3/4 of the screen and buttons and UI elements are all in the wrong positions, so therfore... I don't consider either of those as "working".
My phone is loaded with Gameloft games and I can't even get one working on the G Tablet.
I have Asphault 5 running perfectly on Calkulins ROM. I didn't do anything special to make it work.
This guy said he's running N.O.V.A. "perfectly" on his gTab. He says you have to download the versions of the games that are for the Motorola Atrix which also uses the Tegra 2 chip.

I'm in the same boat as you with about a half-dozen Gameloft games on my Droid X phone but when I try to sideload them to my gTab they either don't even install or if they install and start the shading is all sorts of wrong.

Which device did you select on the Gameloft site to get a working Asphalt 5?
these games are hit or miss for me. You need to make usre that you get the tegra versions of the games, in order for them to work. I've been able to get Hawx working, but that's all I've really tried. I've been looking for a version of Nova that will work, but all the one's I've found are the 3/4 misaligned ones. It appears that they are designed for 7" screens.

Same here. I just tried Atrix versions of NOVA, HAWX and Spiderman. All 3 were 3/4 of the screen with misaligned controls, just like Asphalt. Uninstalling them all.
I give up.
Im on Vegan v.7 and i got running:
Brothers In Arms 2 Global Front HD v3.1.9 for the LG P990 Optimus 2x
Dungeon Hunter HD v3.6.5 for the Acer IconiaTab A500
Eternal Legacy HD v1.0.0 - some graphical errors
Hero of Sparta HD v3.4.8 for the Google Nexus S - buttons are a bit off center but its full screen
NOVA v.3.5.6 for the LG P990 Optimus 2x
Modern Combat Sandstorm HD v3.0.8 for the LG P990 Optimus 2x
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X HD v3.0.3 for the LG P990 Optimus 2x

I just downloaded it from the market. The game play is much better on the large screen tablet than on a phone.
I have the Atrix versions of HAWX and NOVA running on my Gtab with Vegan-Tab 5.1. Menus are not full screen, but not unusable and no shading issues. The gameplay itself is perfect. It also allows you to move the controls around how you like them in the settings on NOVA, and the HAWX display scales properly automatically. Both play silky-smooth and show off the Tegra 2 horsepower nicely.
No luck with Spiderman- quarter screen and controls won't respond.

So... these are pirated apps? I wish Gameloft would stop shooting themselves in the foot and just freaking sell legit versions of these games for our gTabs.

It (Asphalt) doesn't even show up in a Google Market search for me, only Amazon Market. I bought it and installed from there, and it didn't work...flickering, wrong size, many problems. They refunded me. I then tried one from a pirate site, and it didn't flicker, but was still misplaced. The bottom was cut off, and there was a white margin at the top. it was playable, but annoying.
Basic point, an official paid version was completely unplayable, but a pirated one was just annoyingly playable, so...to answer the previous post, yes, I've even tried pirated versions of most, but they won't play at all.
Hawx_3.2.8. works on my G tablet. Try it! All 10.1 inches, too.

Hmmmmm... LG Optimus you say? I'll give that a shot.
And to the person who asked if we're talking about Pirated games here... if you know how to use Gameloft's mobile site well, you can get huge discounts and free games.
Gameloft games are normally 5 bucks. Go to wap.gameloft.com on your GTab or phone. Scroll to the bottom. Change the country to Canada... all of a sudden all games are $2.50. Then scroll down again and look for the promo links... they're always there. Buy one get one free... All game's 99 cents... etc. The other day I spent 3 bucks and got 6 Gameloft games from the wap site. Don't see a game you want? Scroll to the bottom and change devices to fool the site into thinking you have a different phone.

You Canadians are lucky. It would appear requests from U.S. addresses are not feeling the love you describe. Each time I have tried to access the WAP Gameloft site I get a data connectivity error popup stating "The page contains too many server redirects". I've modified my UserAgent setting in my browser to try hitting the site as a desktop, an android device, and finally as an iPhone and as a desktop it loads the regular Gameloft site which is useless to me and the latter two settings gives me the same data connectivity error.
If I wanted these games on my gTab a bit more badly I may try a foreign vpn service as others have done to access sites like the BBC for content.
But for now, I have a crapload of games on my gTab already so I will keep waiting for Gameloft to officially start selling games for tablets with a Tegra 2 chip and not just for the Atrix phone.

Well, what I said is the gAme itself runs perfectly. The menu is off center and doesnt fill the entire screen but once u start playing everything fits full screen and has no issues at all. The atrix cersion worked for me like this on both vegan 5.1.1 and vegan ginger except that in ginger u have to skip the opening cinematic video as it stutters and runs like crap due to the lack of hardware acceleration. Because of that I went back to 5.1.1

not sure. Itried it too. Toward the end it asks for a phone number AND e-mail, not the option of one or the other. Since I don't have an android phone, I didn't know what to do.
Asphault 6 keeps force closing after skipping the intro. Asphault 5 is still working well, even went head to head with my budding on his ipad.
Okay after everyone's great feedback here I've managed to get the following to be installed perfectly on my GTab running Vegan 5.1.1:
WORKING:
----------------------------------------------
Asphalt 5 (v3.1.8 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab) - Runs flawlessly, fills whole screen
H.A.W.X (v3.2.8 for Samsung Galaxy Tab) - Fills whole screen, controls are perfect, drops a few environment textures here and there but very playable
Hero of Sparta (for LG Optimus 2x) Fills whole screen. Perfect except for block and attack buttons being placed close to center-screen. Regardless, gameplay is perfect.
Splinter Cell Conviction HD (v3.0.3 for LG Optimus 2x) Gameplay is flawless. Fills whole screen. Only loading screen is 3/4. Perfect gameplay
N.O.V.A HD (v3.5.6 for LG Optimus 2x) Flawless. When gameplay starts controls are closer to the center but you can customize button positioning in the options to make the layout perfect. Looks like it was made for tablets now!
Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus HD (v3.0.3 for LG Optimus 2x) Flawless. Same issue with button position as NOVA and easily customized in options. This game runs amazingly on the GTab.
** NOT WORKING **:
----------------------------------------------
GT Racing Academy (for any phone) - Sometimes can't even download game content. Never got this to work.
Gangster: West Coast Hustle (tried Samsung Galaxy Tab version) - Installs fine, starts fine, fills whole screen but runs at like 3 frames per second and drops textures like mad. Unplayable.
Asphalt 6 (For LG Optimus 2x) - Installs fine, opening intro plays, game exits immediately
Spiderman Total Mayhem (For LG Optimus 2x) - Installs, but refused to download game content. Atrix version installs and downloads but game runs at 3/4 screen size and button hotspots are all off.
UNO HD (For LG Optimus 2x) - Installs fine, but game runs at 3/4 screen size. Button hot areas are off. Unplayable by my standards. Plus... it's UNO, who cares.
Avatar HD (For LG Optimus 2x) - Installs but refuses to download game content.
Thats the extent of my testing. It was worth it I guess, since I had ZERO working Gameloft titles on my GTab when I started, and now I have 6. Thanks to everyone who posted tips. In the end I found the best versions were Galaxy Tab and LG Optimus 2x. The Atrix games I tried installed and ran but didn't look as good as the Optimus 2x and Galaxy Tab options.
Let's Golf 2 works but does not fill up the whole screen. I'd say about 80% full screen, plenty big enough to enjoy the game.

Games Compared To Iphone Games

Don't get me wrong I think Android is great but I think it lacks a lot compared to the games for Iphone.
Why havn't the Devs come along and built the same type of QUALITY games for android that they have done for Iphone?
I have just sat for about an hour and hunted in the Android market for games similar to games ive just searched for on the itunes store, and all I can really find is cheap nasty replicas with bad graphics, shocking reviews and even scamming copies of certain games Zombies WAW is one thats on the market now.
Does anyone think/know if the gaming quality will be ever be as good as the Iphone, becasue I hate Iphones and it would kill me to get one to just play decent games.
Hmm, doubt it.

Why searching the same games? If I want to play iphone like games no doubt the best choice is....iPhone.
Android is the first operating system on phones in the world, and if you want good games you can have plenty... Android is not ios so don't think you'll find the same apps.

+1 for that. Android has many great games. for examples, games made by gameloft have nice graphics. Or from Pocket Legends. Cut the Rope (similar to iOS) also nice, angry birds, etc. Or my other favorite puzzle/mystery games such as mystery of the crystal portal, paranormal agency, etc. Many great games. Maybe it's because there are many more free games in android, many developers just upload crappy games. But if u want to search games that may (or may not) resemble iphone, u'll be pleasantly surprised at the results. Some android phones have better hardware than iphone. So, I guess there'll be many games that u'll love as long as u can find them.
The iphone is the most popular phone in the world.
Game companies want to make the most money possible.
They choose Apple over Android.
...
mega profit?
That is the only reason. That, and the fact that they only have to make one version of said game that will work on pretty much ALL apple devices, whereas, a decent looking Android game wont work on phones without GPU's, which is probably around 40-odd% of all Android phones on the Market.
Eventually, android will catch up with games and apps, and the gap is getting smaller and smaller all the time. It wont take long.

I really do hope they catch up, this is my list of PAID apps which are great but i'm a little disapointed at the THD games there are so few to choose from, I thought that the Nvidia Tegra Zone would be packed with great games, and at the moment there are only appox 15 games avaliable and it's been out quite a while now.
Sentinel 3: Homeworld
Samurai II: Vengeance THD
Airport Mania 2: Wild Trips
Sprinkle
Reckless Getaway
Cut the Rope
Fieldrunners HD
Guns'n'Glory
Bang Bang Racing THD
Fruit Ninja THD
Moto X Mayhem
Trial Xtreme
Pinball HD for Tegra
Guerrilla Bob THD
Reckless Racing PLAY
Death Worm

[Q] I am going to buy a galaxy note in 2 weeks..need to knw about game compatibility

I have read in your gaming thread that many games are not compatible with galaxy note.As i am a gaming freak.itz the main reason i want to buy galaxy note.I want to know in future will this game compatibility issue will be taken care of?or will games be released compatible with the high resolution of note...plz help me...thanx in advance
Tintin from Gameloft
So far, a few games are not quite compatible with the Note, in the sense of looking too "soft" as they were not designed for the larger screen. The most notable fail for me is Adventures of Tintin in HD, which I was excited about seeing on a larger screen, as I purchased it when I owned the Galaxy S2. But the game is a different 2D version (horrible, ultra-pixelated 1980s game kind of look) on the Note. Subsequently, Gameloft prevented Note users from downloading the game but there's no refund. What a bummer, and certainly not an extremely pleasant experience dealing with the customer service, who sounded too matter of fact about it.
I suggest that you list the games that are critical to you, and some of us can help to check.
Help me with gta 3..nfs hot pursuit..9mm..i have read the whole gaming thread..for some people the games run for some they doesnt..vry confusing..
Can you spell out the names of the games? I don't play them...

for me, gta3 ran when i downloaded over wifi, but not when i downloaded over 3g (probably due to crappy 3g in australia leading to corrupted files).
there are many different gta 3 versions on the market, there should be one for your area.
as for gameloft games, most dont really work too well. gameloft arent too great with their device support yet, but theyre not as bad as ea games.
Hey I also game a lot and I just got my galaxy note.
From the gameloft games, I am able to run (well):
- backstab
- asphalt 6
- brothers in arms 2 (there is a free version on the market)
- modern combat 3 (now available on the market)
What I am trying to run but can't:
- tintin (2d version...no way to get the normal one, I also copied the data over but nothing)
- 9mm - doesn't download the data: incompatible device
- shadow guardian : tried the galaxy tab version...data downloaded, gameloft logo than back to main screen
- rainbow six shadow guardian: the desire hd version i bought some time ago doesn't run. I am trying a samsung version now...downloading the data still don't know whether it will work
- let's golf 3: nothing...incompatible device. copying the data over doesn't help.
Other games:
- dead space: not on the market but you can find it and runs flawless
- shadowgun: no problems. available on the market
- shine runner : on the market
- riptide gp: same
- GTA 3 should run without problems...i still have to buy it, i have to finish some games before playing gta.
- sprinkle : flawless (no black bars on the sides)
- reckless racing
And of course some other minor games from the market...of course angry birds, cut the rope, apparatus and some others....but i am more interested in 'gameloft' games and unfortunately no game (apart from modern combat 3) is officially working. To get some to work you have to manually do everything...and not always work. That's why i am trying all the games (which I had bought and never played...what luck now they don't work on the new phone -_-) too see how many i can get to run.
Anyway in January gameloft should update most of the games and get them to run on the device. I am sure they are working on it.
So far every game I have has played perfectly on the note So no problems for me. But then again I don't play any of those games that you play. I'm a casual gamer (puzzles, word games, etc). I highly recommend the Note.
If any games don't run NOW, they probably will because all developers have to do is tweak their configurations.
good news for the original poster
http://tinyurl.com/7kfwsrn
thanks for the info guys
All the games I play kick ass on the Note..
Order&Chaos
Modern Combat 3
Death Rally (man this game is awesome)
I dont play a lot of games though..Also you can use chainfire3d to play games you couldnt normally.
Been using my Galaxy Note for like 3-4months game play is awesome....i have a few titles that jist look great...
Shawdowgun is one of the favorites...
And if your wearing headphones you got the option for 5.1 digital sound...works great in the car as well connected to car radio as well......works grwat for watching movies as well...

[Q] FPS Games for Droid 4, which ones are compatible????

I was wondering if any body out there had a list of compatible FPS games for the Droid 4. I really enjoy gaming on my phone but I'm sick and tired of downloading and installing games such as Modern Combat just to find out at the end of the install that the game is not compatible. I've looked up and down on the net for some kind of compatibility list but can't seem to find any thing at all. These are just a few of the games that I currently have on my Droid 4 that run smoother than a new born baby's butt and I've never had any compatibility issues with what so ever. If you know of any other similar games that work on the Droid 4, please add to the list.....
Dead Trigger
Mass Effect Infiltrator
Dead Space
Shadowgun
Shadowgun DeadZone
Backstab
CS Portable
CM:Swat
Oh WOW! So apparently NOBODY plays ANY FPS on their Droid 4's? Really? That is simply amazing. FYI, in case you guys didnt know. the Droid 4 can play some really good console quality games since it seems nobody knows that.....

You're not the only one! I use emulators on my Droid 4 to play some of my favorite classic console games... EG Mortal Kombat, SNES ROMs.. you get me. So don't feel so alone! And thank you for the list that you have made. I will be checking out all of them!
I'll ask my son. He play a couple of them. I do know some of the games won't show up in Google Play. I have to buy them on my HOX+ but after that I can easily install them and play them on the Droid 4/Photon Q 4G LTE.
