OTG Cable for OB? - LG Optimus Black

Hi, i recently saw a OTG cable in Amazon that it is like $.86 Dollars, and free shipping, but it says it is for samsung S2 and S3, I was wondering if there is a chance it will work on the OB.

They generally aren't cross-compatible since there are quite a few differences between different phones and manufacturers. You can take a chance if you wan't.

I have an OTG usb cable, and it doesn't work at all with the OB, I tried even the korean V30 and nothing.
What a pity.. OTG is very very useful, I had an android device with OTG and it's amazing, you can connect keyboard, mouse and even usb flash drive / external hard disc !

Which able do I need to connect a mouse to my note?

I know one end is a female USB port where a USB mouse can fit into, however...what kind of connection goes into the Note?...I need to know so I can search online and place an order...thank you.
Please can someone confirm that this is the correct adapter to enable me to connect a mouse to my note:

I don't know if the one of your link will do it but what I know is that you should be looking for a USB OTG(on the go) which is compatible with either the GS2 or the Note.
I bought something like this and it worked just fine.

Theoretically it should work however not all OTG adapters work as they should.
If you don't mind paying extra the original samsung OTG cable is fairly reasonably priced ATM.

I've contacted the seller and lets hope I can get a refund now.
So...any OTG cable is fine?
One more question....for those who know or who have tried, does a wireless mouse work with this cable?...as i'm thinking of getting a bluetooth mouse, thanks.
yes most otg cables will work, some say they will not work with 2.3.3. and above
the cables are for attaching usb devices if the bluetooth is usb based then it should work but if it isnt and its a normal bluetooth mouse then i dont know

Create an app to do what ?
There is no HDMI port on the phone, the only solution i see is to use the USB port, but then you would also need some hardware that connects on the USB and reinterprets that data sent to it and export that on a HDMI port.
I for one haven't seen any such devices (USB-to-HDMI for phones).

It is called MHL adapter
It does exactly that- micro usb to HDMI and is being use in galaxy nexus and galaxy note etc
Unfortunately not the case for our blacky
So, finally end with smart share..USB mass storage only...
NO HDMI...:banghead:

As said before it is nothing to do with an app. It has to be supported by the kernel. So far not possible for the black. Also possible issue is the output electricity. It needs to be 5v 500mA.
Technically speaking the OBs chipset supports usb-otg and hdmi .
Just matter of incorporating mhl in the kernel now or on ICS.
P.s. In an optimistic mood i bought the before mentioned adapter, and it has optional external power supply ( the phone charger or battery pack) .Waiting for it to come, and either there will be some change in near future or there will be new phone which supports mhl out of the box.
opti_black lacks HDMI connectivity..
thats sad but true .
It is not OB that lacks it.
The SOC can do it. It is LG that ain't interested in giving us the option.
i certainly wouldn't use it
i did not use it at all in my optimus 3D
As like the members say it certainly depends upon the taste of droidser.. some of them take its advantage while other rarely..
However its overall use by droidser is least.

So guys are you sure there is nothing to do in order to connect OB to TV by hdmi cable?
I just bought a LED TV a week ago and I want to connect the ob to it..
Afraid not a lot to be done. I have usb to hdmi adapter and it works fine with Galaxy Note , but as mentioned before not with the OB.
Following closely the development for the galaxy sl. They are still in a lock down and no luck.
But still hope is there.
ow about on screen phone??can use it for make an app for hdmi?
done some searching around for this too but no real solution. If you want to see your phone screen on the TV, connect it to you computer, use some remote screen software and connect the computer screen output to the TV

[Q] USB2 HDD and/or keyboard on KFHD7?

I know the KFHD7 can't power things plugged into the micro USB but assuming a USB hub or power from another source just having the data cable plug into it should work, right? I've tried a USB2 HDD and USB wireless mouse/keyboard and they don't work though, although they do on my Samsung Galaxy S3 using same apps to mount in case of the USB2 HDD.
If this is possible what am I missing to make it work?

i m going to explain you why you cant use them (i bought a keyboard) amazon disabled usb otg in the kernel. i said amazon to turn it on. i contacted them 2 times, and nothing. i think, we have to contact them to enable it (all forum users) or pay me 35 dollars for a bluetooth keyboard!

Damn, lack of USB OTG support is a real shame, I was hoping to use the KFHD7 as a portable media centre/laptop replacement but it might be impossible by the sound of it.
One thing i forgot to mention is that my KFHD7 is modified with TWRP and CM 10.1, runs really smooth compared to the stock software. But is USB OTG stillnot possible like it was on the original Kindle Fire? Seeing as this newer one uses a second bootloader and all.

RAZRi USB OTG Support.

Hi, I'm wondering what's wrong with OTG Support in this model. I'm using regular OTG cable with 2A powered USB Hub and after connecting all devices are detected properly but no USB Mass Storage can be mounted. Keyboard, Mouse working well Sound Card from Creative is detected but not working (nvm) and any USB stick is detected by few mounting apps but none of them can be mounted.
Any kernel mods are needed or maybe just decent app??
Wysłane z Motorola RAZR i.
Noone?? I'm sure it supports USB host cause keyboard and mouse working fine but why it can't mount any USB stick or drive??

Mass storage isn't enabled on this device. We will new to mod the kernel and the ROM to include it. But it will come someday with CM maybe.

It's regular OTG cable like this one http://hurtownia.partnertelekom.pl/pl/product/product/id/30455 but connected to 2A powered USB Hub cause Motorola has no output power on USB.

Sorry to bother again , but where did you find the 2A powered USB Hub ?
Yesterday i looked around and no electronic-pc store seemed to had that :S. I found one wich only gave 0.5 to 1.5A and it was very expensive...

I had it for my old Atrix for HDD's and it's needed 2A. For standard keyboard+mouse and some usb stick You wont need more than standard 1A, 4 port USB hub for max 10$. I paid 12$ for 2A powered. I don't remember brand but before I used 1A powered "no name" brand and it worked too so use any min 1A powered and it should work.

OTG on the VIE-AL10

Hello,
i don't get usb sticks to work on my VIE-AL10. I also have seen members with working OTG, but only on VIE-L09. Can somebody confirm a working OTG on VIE-AL10 devices? And if yes, what Adapters are you using? Did it work instantly without customizing anything?
Thanks
Nobody tried this yet?
can't get otg for use a dac. tried 3 usbc-micro adaptaters and no one works. i don't want to buy a new usbc dac :/
I could not get any Type C - Micro USB connectors to work using my old TOG cable. I had to buy a new Type C OTG adaptor cable. It was the only way I found to get it working.
Can you show us what cable did you buy? Thank you

I am using this. It works with SD and Micro SF, also as Micro USB OTG . Quite versatile indeed.
