Bro, clearing dalvik cache by CWM doesn't affect any app. When you reboot the system, the phone rebuilds the required dalvik cache files. Your problem seems to be somewhat different...

Link2sd needs the dalvik cache to keep symbolic links of apps in the partition on boot. If you wipe dalvik, you mess up the structure and loose access to all apps on the partition.
Avoid wiping dalvik cache when using link2sd, unless you're changing roms (cuz you're wiping everything anyways).

If you have a previous Nandroid backup, restore it from recovery. If not, I don´t know.... the hard work, reinstall all?

htc dictionary

Hello Everyone
Is there any way at all to access the dictionary that HTC uses? I have the HTC_IMD Mod keyboard which has in the settings menu access to user dictionary but I do not think this is the full list of user added dictionary items.
If I can't edit individual items add or delete is there a way to flush the user dictionary completely and have it start from fresh? I ask because I have noticed when switching between roms and if both roms have the HTC_IMD Mod the user added dictionary seems to presist between roms even after a wipe of data and cache
Thats weird usually a full wipe kills everything

Yep I did all those things. The only one I wasn't' able to do was wipe dalvik cache. When I tried to do so through the recovery menu an error occurred and it told me to use adb wipe dalvik. So I tried that but when I typed adb wipe dalvik the help page came up describing the adb commands and it doesn't seem as though wipe is one of them.
How do you wipe the cache through adb?

ur sd-ext where the apk is being installed is being mounted as r/o..which does not allow u to install and so it reboots. it happened to me only twice and i did a restore to solve it..not sure wat caused it. also 1 one other person complained of having the same issue.

maybe something is wrong with your sd-ext partition, the apk are being installed there because of s2e.
edit; try another format ext2/ext3

[Q] apps' data

Hi,
I've noticed that even after I move apps to sd-card partition ,the apps data is still saved on the internal memory.
can I move the data to the sd-card ?
That's normal. Even link2sd leaves data in internal memory.

wiped completely and wiped dalvik too.
link2sd does create a link .
why shouldn't I wipe dalvik ?
*link2sd links only app, dex, libs to the partition. I wanted to know if there's a way to link the app's data too

Link2sd cannot link the app's data.
Other apps like s2e for cyanogenmod roms can, but s2e isn't compatible with link2sd.
Also there is an option in titanium backup to move the app's data to sd card. I don't know if this option causes conflicts with link2sd.

Thnx!
2 questions:
1. moving the app's data to partition would slow it significantly?
2.would I need to format my parition to use s2e, or just uninstall link2sd?
I'm on CM7 and the system is mounted rw. This allows me to link data to system and use otherwise dead space. Also doesn't slow anything down. I done this using root explorer.

Try to install and run CLEAN MASTER. This app will help you clean all caches (except dalvik) and will clear some space for you
It wont remove any saved settings in any app. It just cleared its data (cache, thumbails etc)

Dalvik-cache
When your phone starts up, the Dalvik Virtual Machine looks at all your apps and frameworks, and creates a tree of dependencies which is stored in the dalvik-cache. This allows applications to run in an optimised state (and explains why your phone takes longer to boot up after applying a new rom, it’s rebuilding the cache.)
Thank Google.
