[ROM] N00bDroid

Helping in integrating power menu into ROM for not being forced to flash another zip file is very welcome. Also need help in theaming this rom!! For users who want to help me please leave me a PM or a comment on this threat
This is almost like stock rom. Is based on 2.3.3 with franco.Kernel .v1.1-02102011 | 2.6.35.14
It has :
-Superuser (can be updated to the latest version via market )
-Busybox
-App2SD
-Custom boot animation
-Hardware acceleration enabled
-Heapsize 32MB
-Dalvik cache moved to SD card
-I de-odexed all the files
-Zipalign
I removed following apps
AG Indian Newspaper
Bollywoodji
NDrive
DeskClock
LGHome
PhotoWidget
Bookmarks Widget
GenieWidget
MarketUpdater
MemoWidget
MessageWidget
LGMits
thinkdroid
DualClockWidget
Connection Manager Widget
Digital Alarm Widget
Music
Added following apps:
ZeamLauncher
DSPManager
OI File Manager
Terminal Emulator
MIUI Music Player
I moved some app in /data/app like:
-GMail
-Email
-CarHome
-CarHomeLauncher
-Maps
-Talk
-Youtube and some I don't remember right now
Install instructions:
- Connect the phone to PC via cable and copy the ZIP with the ROM to SD
- boot into recovery
- Wipe data (factory reset), wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
- Flash zip from recovery
- Reboot
P.S: First boot will take longer !!

This is the Extended Power Menu
How to Install :
-Reboot intro recovery
-As always, make a backup before flashing.
-You must be using a deodexed ROM for this to work. Also, this replaces framework-res.apk, so this will overwrite any themes you may have installed.
-Flash zip from sdcard
-Reboot.

it's my first rom..and yes it has OC ..just install setcpu or no frills and OC your cpu maybe in the near future I will add a theme

Dropbox sucks for gigantic-sized files. After about 10 downloads it says "not available due to much requests". Happened to me with my first ROM release. Multiupload FTW

To install the language Pack :-(Modified)
1.Download the correct ROM and matching Language Pack from MIUI Android ROM download section
2.Copy to SDCard
3.Turn off your device, and then load into bootloader
4.Enter recovery mode
5.Wipe cache partition
6.Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
7.Install zip from sdcard > Choose zip from sdcard > Select the zip file for ROM
8.Once the installation of ROM is done, reboot the device
9.Wait until the device boot into the newly flashed MIUI ROM (Yes, it will be in Chinese Language)
10.Turn off your device again, then load into bootloader
11.Enter recovery mode
12.Wipe cache partition
13.Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
14.Install zip from sdcard > Choose zip from sdcard > Select the zip file for Language Pack
15.Once the installation of the language pack is done, reboot the device again
16.The update should be done by now. Enjoy your updated ROM!

Depends on the kernel you used .... I use BelndMIUI kernel and it lasts around a day and half with normal use .

No problem i made this for fun only
torch does work even with the lock screen ... but it blinks a little ... i find this in all Arc MIUI versions and don't know why.

yeah it always blinks .. but in ver 2.1.6 "i guess" it wasn't workin from lockscreen

Well i wish too .... i'm searching for a fix right now .and testing some repleacement apps like spirit fm.... but they didn't work ... i think it has something to do with the kernel but not sure..

Nobody is ignoring the hardwork of graphic artists (kgill7 in this case).
I m just saying that OP has made a port from one device to other....might be the case that he didn't know about the real owner of the icon pack because nobody mentioned him earlier....don't take it otherwise

How To Flash
Do a FULL WIPE first. Full Wipe means format /system, /data, /cache.
Now flash ROM and then GAPPS through recovery.
After flashing, do NOT reboot phone. Instead POWER OFF the device and boot to bootloader.
Extract the boot.img from rom and flash it using fastboot flash boot boot.img command.
Reboot.
Use N.O.P.EKernel

Minor bugs
1) When there are too many notifications, they hide the clock in the center.
2) when there is expanded notification,.. Umm.. Look at the screenshot.

Will follow this and try it out when I have time!
Some thoughts of features I'd like to see in a ROM:
-Custom system and window transitions with possibility to set "random"
-split view
-floating window
-hover (+controls)
-maybe some custom toolchains
-longpress lock icon to launch torch
Nice list to kick off
Anyway thanks for the ROM!

I tried installing this rom as a secondary using multiboot but it ends up in a bootloop.

This rom is CM based so that means it is custom and can't flash stock kernels on it.
Also, to flash modified stock kernel, you are required to unlock your BL too.

@OwnDroid: is it needed to flash these gapps to boot the rom?
Because I always prefer PA micro package as it's very lightweight.

No it's not needed, just asking because they give problems on some devices...
They are pa based so that's not the problem, maybe a kernel problem while flashing in multi ROM, try backing up your current ROM and flash it clean...
