[Q] How to upgrade to V10f - LG Optimus 4X HD

I am using LG O4X and get rooted the phone.
In a few days, I got software updates to install and do it. However, it got failed to upgrade for the reason of rooted condition. Even though I unroot it, it failed also.

[Q] How to get Official OTA update after root

Hi,
I purchased my Note from Amazon.de and it came with Baseband Version: N7000XXLB2 which is a German version. I live in England so I wanted to move to a UK rom. As I could not root it by any given method, I downladed " N7000XXKKA ------ 2.3.6 2011 November------- N7000CPWKK3 -----------United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse)" and flashed it via Odin. Than I got my root but now I can't get it updated via built in Software Update thing. My current Baseband is:N7000XXKK5. Any suggestions to get official OTA updates?
Regards
I believe because you are on latest build 2.3.6 that you won't get any OTA updates until ICS is available. I've never had one OTA update (had the phone for 6 months) and always put this down to the fact that I have manually updated many kernels and ROMs so am always on a recent one.
If you flashed the latest UK rom then you won't get any OTA updates since it's the latest rom.
Even if you get ota you should not update as you would loose root doing so.

make sure you only have root and not non stock kernel.
that stops ota as well as having different csc than the stock rom you are with. In my experience at least.
So if you dont have latest rom for your csc and do want it with functional ota then flash through Odin a pre december version that is rootable in conventional way. Then only root it. After root try Ota, it should deliver incremental upgrades. After each test root thought by updating superuser app. Tedious process but that guarantees keeping Ota and root for me at least.
All at own risk, and do the proper backups like efs if you havent done so already. pm if you need more details

[Q] Alredy latest version

Hello!
Yesterday when I NVFlashed back to official 2.2.2 (Froyo) and tried to upgrade to Official GB I just got this message from LG Software Update tool:
"The phone is already running the latest version".
The update tool claimed that I was running V20S but I was in fact running V10B.
What should I do?

try using this....replace the xxxxx with your IMEI and launch it in the explorer.....you will get the latest version for your region.
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&model=LGP990 and then you can flash it with the tool.....refer to the dev thread for tutorial for flashing
Hope it helps

I think you still have GB baseband.
Use Smartflash to flash modem with froyo baseband and you are done.
Grtz

If you are rooted right now you will not be able to get ota updates. The only way to update is to go through odin and update or flash a rom with the newest update or unroot your device and then update.
I'd like to answer your second question but I would like some clarification on the question.
And the update to 6.0 could be from a couple of weeks to a couple of months or even longer. It depends on you carrier and samsung of course.
The phone is the international variant 920c dual sim
I have not rooted yet but will love to do it.
If marshmalow is near them i will wait
No rooted phones of Samsung will receive OTA updates. Unroot by flashing the stock rom with ODIN and look for OTA. Or else, download latest stock firmware from samobile or similar websites and update with ODIN. Then re-root if you want.

Galaxy S5 Active AT&T (SM-G870A) Software Update Help?!

Hello guys;
First of all, Let me post my phone software info:
Android Version: 4.4.2
Build Number: KOT49H.G870AUCU1ANG3
Phone Location: out USA
I tried all methods available to update my phone at least lollipop not even Marshmallow! and every time i get the message "The is the latest software update available to your phone"!
I tried the software update inside settings, Kies 3 (also emergency recovery method), Smart Switch, AT&T SIM Card inserted with USA VPN...etc)...non of them worked for me!
Does any one manage to have a legit Lollipop or Marshmallow Odin Stock Flash?!
I saw some methods over recovery with OTA update packages but it is too risky since there is no Stock ROM for the device in Sammobile also i am afraid to brick the device or losing IMEI and no service Box is supporting it!
looking for your help!?

Thats becuz there isnt for att yet. Therr are over the airs for 5.0 but nothing else. And the update to 5.1 but its stock and unrooted you have to be rooted im sure for that and using flashfire for it so it just changes rom and not bootloader . Allowing you to still downgrade back.
