If trickdroid 5.6 is riunning Android 4.1 then you should be fine. I think the only issues are running 4.2 roms

yes this version is android 4.1.2 based
Use revone. It's easy and doesn't require linux, firmware and carrier doesn't matter.

The revone method doesn't require root, also let's you unlock bootloader without HTCDev
Found it a lot simper as well, took a few attempts to get going tho
My biggest problem was I forgot to put sudo (only needed for linux) and I forgot to put the file extension.

Another vote for revone from me. I've just got S-OFF with it, and it's very easy by following the guide they have on their post.
I used moonshine and everything worked fine.. Tank you guys for helping me

Following that changes the cid int the partition that android uses in 4.2.2 to set correct data icons and control updates in all htc android versions.

For me s off allows u to change bootanimations or splash screens,I don't need titanium backup to remove system apps bloatware,I could make my bootloader say locked instead of relocked, but most of all u cud flash a rom without having to use a pc afterwards to flash a boot.img and the kernel can be change when flashing the rom,s off also allows u to downgrade and upgrade firmware at will

If you will change rom, you have to do a full wipe in aroma or in recovery before the flash

To flash a custom rom, you need to unlock your device via htc-dev. I'll put a tutorial video link below.
If you already have the 4.2.2 update, don't worry about new firmware for now. Otherwise, you don't need S-OFF depending on your CID to flash the custom 4.2.2 rom and firmware.
To do a rom swap, you don't need new firmware unless it's a newer base which also got a firmware update from htc

So he can unlock the bootloader and go s-off
Which hboot do you have?

So, turn off your phone and longpress power + vol- and when it reboot in bootloader read the hboot.
After reboot in android with the "reboot" line, for move the cursor you have to use the vol buttons

I think it's not needed, but I'm not 100% sure on this one.
I used 4.3 firmware on 4.2.2 before, but it was a custom pack (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391611) so I'm not sure if the official one would work

[Q] 1.54 ROMs/GE questions.

Hi.
I`ve got HTC ONE recently and it is 1.54 S-ON
After research i did i understood couple things, please correct me if i`m wrong.
1. S-OFF not possible for 1.54
2. It is not possible to convert to proper official GE(with OTA) without S-OFF
3 It is still possible installing custom recovery/roms with S-ON
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes
You can mod your phone without the s-off, this is a plus for some edit at the full firmware and other
So is there S-Off for 1.54 yet ?
Yes.

Yes both kernel and rom can be installed via recovery with out s-off. Only things you cant do is change firmware radios sid etc. But if you are hboot 1.54 like I think you are just wait a couple of days and we will have s-off.
I believe it is in testing at the minute before made public

Make a backup before you do anything. Stay with sense, or google play edition roms until you are s-off. Dont mess with ruu
