[ROM][CM10] (CAMERA,AUTOBRIGHTNESS,AGPS) Dark Mod v0.901 2012-12-17 - LG Optimus Black

Hello,
i'd like to share my personal daily rom. Its main purpose is to allow you to read in bed without disturbing your girlfriend.
Secondary, the battery consumption will be less while screen is on.
This is reached with allowing the brightness to go down to the (nearly) absolute minimum. I recommend the "CoolReader" Application with Brightness set to "default" so it will use the current system brightness.
To extend battery life the LED's are configured to be as dark as possible.
Not all brightness control widgets uses the system minimum value, so if you not use the system display settings or the toolbar brightness button you'll have to check if your brigthness widget reaches the minimum of "1", test it with "cat /sys/devices/platform/omap/omap_i2c.2/i2c-2/2-0060/backlight/aat2870_i2c_bl/brightness" in a adb shell or in terminal application.
The rom has a configuration menu in settings/advanced; at the moment you can only configure LTO (Long term orbit) data download which should increase gps performance.
Minor changes:
[*] G-Button long press starts Camera
There are some mods to kernel, so you cant use other kernels with it without loosing functionality. It is based on the repository at the time of the build, so it can be different to the nightly from the same day if that nightly is build some hours earlier or later.
Wipe not needed if coming from cm10 nightly. Every other base should wipe everything except sdcard
User applications from gingerbread, ics or jellybean can be restored with titanium, but no settings, accounts, call logs, etc.
Google apps are not included, you have to flash them seperate.
I will only upload builds which generally work (starting after flash, 5 minutes testing).

well nice of you to develop cm10 ,, but i think you are pointing on a minor bug ,, a main bug wich makes everybody NOT to use cm10 is hd games ,, most crash after 3 second of playing and others doesnt work at all ,, so if u want to fix that its a "gpu overlay" issue

Thats is right - but i primary fix bugs/make enhancements concerning my personal usage. Thats selfish, i know
Generally brightness minimum is not a bug - lg sets a minimum of "20" wasting battery, cm 10 uses same value. That has one good effect - if you go in bright sunlight and enable your device with a minimum brightness of "20" there is a better chance to see something.
And the mentioned issue... kernel related i think and not easy to fix for me, but i think easy for the pro's.

no no no thats not the problem! the problem with CM10 is the sdcard, apollo gallery and some apps dont work for me because sdcard is in /storage/sdcard0.

Screenshots? :good:

Its actually mainly based off of CM10 Nightly,so just imagine CM10 nightly, but the screen is darker
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app

Is that any way to have a flashable zip to flash over the current rom then there is no need for wipe?

I may know you!
It's like S...z's method to show his "amazing" ROM.
Step by step, show every project... but never done and useless!

If you're sure, that's the problem... i will look into it.
Edit:
i looked into it...
All apps should look in /sdcard which is a symlink to /storage/sdcard0
So... if some apps are having problems with symlink - ouch...
If some apps are looking somewhere else ... more symlinks will help.
Do you have a logcat with some exception like file open in /storage/sdcard/* not found?
Apollo and Gallery work for me (Apollo is generally half baked, so "working" is relative...)
More research:
Jellybean roms (different devices) use...
/sdcard/
/storage/sdcard0/
/data/media/
/mnt/sdcard/
Maybe creating all missing directories (as symlinks to /storage/sdcard0) will help.
Anyway, without an example to reproduce i'm stuck...

The rom is much too dark to make screenshots
But aside from this it's just cm10 a.t.m., i will add screenshots as soon as i mod the ui. (not planned at the moment)

hey as ur main objective is darkening......
i wn to kno if you cud reduce the led button lights in your rom. have been roaming around the forum and asking to find an easy way to do this. only solution i found was compiling from source.
so as long as u r reducing lights and compiling, might as well

if you want to disable led light:
adb shell
su
echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/omap/omap_i2c.2/i2c-2/2-001a/led_onoff
But only until screen lock. I use CoolReader, option "Disable Button Backlight" -> works fine while reading with CoolReader.
The button brightness works not, so it has to be modified in the kernel... at the moment i have no time for deeper changes.
Greetings,
Andreas

honestly i have zero experience with kernels and the like.
but these might help i guess
Code:
drivers/leds/leds-bd2802.c
Code:

#define BD2802_CURRENT_WHITE_MAX 0x2D /*9mA*/// 0x32 /* 10mA */
#define BD2802_CURRENT_BLUE_MAX 0x32 /* 10mA */
#define BD2802_CURRENT_WHITE_MIN 0x05/*1mA*/
#define BD2802_CURRENT_BLUE_MIN 0x05 /* 1mA */
thanks

I used 0.2 mA for min, 1mA for MAX and 10mA for PEAK.
Testing in progress....
I do not know if min/max is both really used, at the moment my phone looks always the same, except the white peak on button press.
Thanks for the info!
Greetings,
Andreas

OP updated with download link for new version.
There are several changes in kernel from ricardo, sound library changed for example. Generally it looks good, i recognized no change to better or worse
Have fun!

Hmmm... Who want the lights to be...
a) off
b) off but pressed one flashes
c) as dark as possible
Every vote counts
but.. the (coming) button light notification may not work with a), maybe with b) too, so add to your vote if you want to use light notifications

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install HOWTO:
1. Flashing the ROM
1.1 Preparing for flashing
- go to recovery
- wipe /cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats
- flashing this over mik's v6.5.x/6.6.x ROM without wiping /data should work without any problems.
- for any other non-CM7.1 ROM, wiping /data (factory reset) IS required (see FAQ and do not ask retarded questions)
1.2 Flashing the ZIP
- CWM should work just fine
- TWRP - works just fine if you disable signature verification (bug reported quite a few days ago)
- AmonRA - totally untested, definitely disable signature verification, if it does not work, try one of the above.
Quote:
Do not post lame questions about failed signature verification here!!!
1.3 First boot and initial setup
- reboot from recovery
- WAIT! Really, just WAIT!!! Even if it takes 10 minutes, there is no bootloop. Also, as long as the bootanimation is moving, the phone is NOT frozen and is busy populating the dalvik cache etc. Absolutely no need to pull the battery in that case! Once again, WAIT!
- In case you are flashing on a clean phone (/data wiped), you will get the initial setup wizard. If you want to change your language, do it. Tap on the Android picture. Either complete the wizard or skip it. I suggest skipping it, you can add your Google account and set it up just fine after all the setup is finished by tapping on the Market icon.
Quote:
IMPORTANT NOTE: In case you get some lame popup before the initial Android screen asking you to choose between something like "com.google.provisioning" and Setup Wizard, choose the topmost item, do NOT check the checkbox. (It is impossible to take a screenshot of that, so it is NOT shown below.) Follow the prompts. Again, suggest skipping the wizard as soon as possible.
2. Theming the ROM for dummies (picture guide):
2.1 - Lockscreen
After you have finished/skipped the setup wizard, your screen should look like on Picture 1. Go to Settings - CyanogenMod - LockScreen - Style Options. Select Lense as LockscreenStyle and check the Hide rotary arrows. Press Back a couple of times to get back to home screen.
2.2 Wallpaper and status bar transparency - part 1
Hold your finger on the home screen for a while. Select Wallpapers from menu. From the next menu, select Live wallpapers. From the next menu, select MultiPicture Live Wallpaper. On next screen, tap on Settings, go to Common Settings - Picture Source. From the popup menu, choose either Single Picture or Picture Folder. On the prompt, do not forget to check "Use by default for this actions" and tap on MIUI Gallery. Go to wallpapers folder, choose a wallpaper, duh! Press back several times until you get back to the Set wallpaper screen. Tap on Set wallpaper. You are back to your homescreen.
Looks better now, huh?
2.3 Choosing the theme
Tap the home icon - in the app drawer list until you find Theme Chooser (on the last screen), tap the icon. Tap on Apply button under the MIUI theme. Back to home screen, note the icons in status bar are now changed.
2.4 Status bar transparency - part 2
NOTE: Sorry, this part IS sadly required, I cannot include the patched SystemUI.apk in the ROM, because otherwise there is never any status bar, LOL. Also it causes quite a bit of trouble with the initial setup wizard. NFC. Do not ask me why.
Click to collapse
Finishing up!!! Press the power button, choose Reboot - Recovery - OK. Wow, the phone rebooted and you are now in recovery! Go to flash ZIP menu, browse to MIUIGEN71/themes/transparent folder and flash the statusbar_patch.zip!
Reboot.
2.5 Finished!!!
NOTE: If you ever get bored by the transparent MIUI theme, you can undo the patch by flashing MIUIGEN71/themes/nontransparent/statusbar_undo.zip from recovery and use any CM7 theme with this ROM. (A black MIUI theme with non-transparent status bar attached here. To revert to the original transparent theme bundled with the ROM, download the transparent theme and do not forget to flash MIUIGEN71/themes/transparent/statusbar_patch.zip from recovery.)
FAQ:
Q: Can I use this with the new baseband?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT!
Q: Not even with the mik's patch?! Will data work with that?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT!
Q: Are you planning to add support for new baseband?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT! It will be supported when/if mik's ROM supports it. I will NOT do anything about baseband.
Q: But... that sucks! I do not want to downgrade baseband?
A: Go use another ROM, such as the stock LG ****! Do not bother asking on this thread about baseband.
Q: Can I flash this over mik's v6.5.x/6.6.x ROM without wiping /data?
A: Yes, it should work without any problems.
Q: Can I flash this over stock ROM, GingerLOL or whatnot else without wiping /data?
A: NO! Do not bother with complaining about crashes and broken things if you do.
Q: Why franco kernel v1.1-24082011? It is unstable for me, I have random crashed, freezes, reboots, battery drains and it even drinks all beer in my fridge overnight!?!
A: Because the kernel works perfectly fine for me. If you get the stuff above, wipe everything (/data, /cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats), tune down your crazy OC (no, this phone will NOT work @1GHz) and enjoy your fast clean stable ROM with great performance!
Q: I still have kernel problems even after a clean flash? What now?
A: Feel free to flash any other franco 2.6.35 kernel if it works better for you. You can report bugs in latest kernel version to franco on his thread. IMPORTANT: Do NOT bother with reporting issues if you are too lazy to provide useful information about your CPU freqs, governor settings, provide logcat etc. and the only thing you plan to do is moaning about crashes, drains etc.
Q: I am having black screen/split screen bug!!! T3h suxxxx!
A: Sucks to be you, I do not have any such problem. Otherwise, turn off the CRT animation (who needs such stuff). If you get a blackscreen, please stop locking/unlocking the screen like mad every one second. Wait a few seconds at least. Also, there is no need to pull the battery or damage the power button by pressing it zillion times, just touch the screen.
Q: I am having battery drain! The ROM and kernel are horrible!
A: No, the junk you have installed is horrible. Grab BetterBatteryStats, find the offending crap and uninstall it.
Q: Battery life still suxxx! Only will last 3 days!
A: Go get a Nokia 5110.
Q: How can I switch to those other bootanimations that are included?
A: Run terminal emulator, then do this:
Code:
$ su
# selectbootanim
Click to collapse
Q: How can I test the bootanimation without rebooting?
A: Use adb:
Code:
> adb shell bootanimation
Press CTRL+C to terminate it.
Q: When I mount the phone to my PC, the wallpaper I set from SD card gets lost from my home screen/lock screen!
A: Nothing I could do about it. Normally, /sdcard can only be mounted once. When you use the phone as mass storage, it gets unmounted from the phone. Go complain to Google.
Q: But it sucks! I have my phone connected and mounted to PC for the whole day, using it as a thumbstick for playing my p0rn collection!
A: Buy a USB stick for like $10. This is a phone, not a storage for your PC. Or grab something like Root Toolbox from the market and try the dual-mount feature there instead.
Q: When I boot the phone, it takes some time before the background picture appears.
A: It takes a while to get the SD card partition mounted to phone. Go complain to Google.
Q: What are those sysro/sysrw scripts good for?
A: As the name suggests, to remount your system read-only/read-write.
Q: How to I use them?
A: Duh, use the terminal, luke!
Code:
$ su
# sysrw
... (do whatever you want now with files under /system)
# sysro
# exit
$
Q: What is nano?
A: A console-based text editor. If you do not know what it means, you do not use it. RTFM!
Q: How do I set the WiFi Tx power so that it does not needlessly drain battery?
A: Use /system/etc/setwifi.sh script. It sets the value to 20dBm.
Q: Can I change that value?
A: Yes, edit the script. (See nano above.)
Q: Could you include my cool 99zomgmakemyphoneflylikehellubercool tweak?
A: No, sorry. I only include reasonable stuff. This ROM and kernel have excellent performance without any tweaks. Flash those yourself and do not bother with reporting resulting issues here. Will NOT fix them.
So now this ROM is available for our phones too. Good.

Well... This rom have plenty of bugs, and sadly the original developer of this rom is too stubborn to even admit the existance of it...
I think the bugs comes from the mix of having a very very unstable kernel with very awful known bugs and the use of crappy apks which replaces the old good functional apks for only the looks...
Promising stability is impossible.
Bugs I had when I used this... for a month:
(I DID NOT: Overclock, install other tweaks than transparent taskbar)
-Weird battery behaviour (sometimes lasted up to 2 days!; in the worst, just a night)
-Installed apps gets deleted from the menu (but installed in the system, worthless since you cannot access to the app but still uses the memory)
-When the rom gets buggy, it restarts itself with the screen issue... fixed easily, putting the phone to sleep and in the wake, the screen looks normal.
(but the restarting thing was loopy... restarted the phone itself w/o doing nothing for half an hour... I had to pull off the battery and wait some time...)
-The screen resolution was weird also... for some reason the apps looked with less space and for some apps it messed up the original look (like zombiebooth, no big deal tho)
-Buggy Videorecording/ photo taking (problems with the app, and with the codecs of the videos recorded with the cam...)
-The Compass was totally off... (no big deal for me tho, but it's a bug)
-Glitchy look for some apps (like FriendCaster, I read before that it was a bug because of some setting of the kernel... but it's a present bug anyway)
This is not acceptable for calling a rom Stable, the only dealbreakers was the restarting stuff and the battery behaviour, because sometimes I needed the phone and it was dead or looping...

I think the bugs comes from the mix of having a very very unstable kernel with very awful known bugs and the use of crappy apks which replaces the old good functional apks for only the looks...
Promising stability is impossible.

You forgot to mention something.. did you do a clean wipe & install? Some are really bugs. But the battery issue is surely a problem from your side.
Personally if this is Drnotor's rom, there is no problem with me for overclocking or apps. I put dartktremor's app2sd, no problem. With the ungaze's one, not working to update the kernel. Yes there is a bug with the camera, it hangs, there is this option of blast shot or something, whatever. I select this option and then it works fine. I did clean install, then titanium backup, and I stick with the 240811 kernel as the next one did me fast burning battery on 3G. I do many internet and pandora radio and no games. Before this rom I was on void#forever, now I'll wait for andy's rom, but I don't know why people would have a problem with this rom. It's as good as any other, wifi thethering work, usb i don't know but it's enough for me.
Good battery, overclocking available, fast rom, so far so good.

This ROM works well.
Most of the bugs you mention belong to the kernel (if you read the FAQ you'll see that it mentions something like this, "If problems persist try another version of the kernel"). The compass works fine if you've successfully calibrated your. If you did not work, I can only think that your compass is bad and take your phone to a service technician to review it.
If you still continue with "your" problems then you should go to the forum of dr.notor and report back all this, as seeing who is in charge of the subject's ROM here at XDA (no offense) I do not think that this topic be successful...
Off Topic
Sorry if I respond aggressively but I'm tired of seeing every issue of this section of developers (yes, I am not a developer but as I have space to say) many response where blame the people who make these great Kernels or ROM's, without given the time to figure out that **** is for the problem they have, and always the most problems come from users themselves and not the people who develop these things ...
P.S. I don't know how sweattami got to hold this thread, however personally I'd like to see a Thanks to Drnotor in the first post, he did put the rom together after all.

[ROM][JB4.2] Ganbarou GT-P7500/01/10/11 Android 4.2 experimental based on CM10.1

Development for this ROM has stopped.
Thread is therefor closed.
New thread with Android 4.3 ROM will come soon.
This ROM is my first trial to build a Android 4.2.1 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
It is based on CyanogenMod 10.1 but flavored with my small own changes as usual.
GApps for JB 4.2 is included in the ROM.
FLASH THIS ROM ON YOUR OWN RISK! YOUR WARRANTY WILL BE GONE AFTER YOU FLASHED THIS ROM.
ONLY THE ROM FOR THE GALAXY TAB 10.1 3G (GT-P7500) IS TESTED BY ME. THE OTHER ROM VERSIONS ARE NOT TESTED.

Tips:
After flashing the tablet seems not to boot:
Give it time. I mean a long time!!! It will boot. First time I flashed this ROM I thought it would not work, but it just takes a long time to boot. The bootanimation will be seen only short time, then the screen turns black. Just wait until the setup screen pops up. But it should take longer than 5 minutes. If the bootanimation is shown for a long time and the tablet does not boot, try
1) reflash the ROM
2) check that the zip file was not damaged during download (you can find the md5 checksums for all ROMs on my homepage)
How to get Developer options in Settings:
Click on Build number several times until it says that you are a developer
How to enable MTP:
Settings->Storage->Menu (3 dots top right)->USB computer connection->Tick Media device (MTP)
Organisation SD-card:
The original content of your SD-card is now in sdcard0/0
This is related to users management and I cannot change it.
LongPress on home button, then move finger up opens Quick Launch (CM10.1 feature):
Access QuickLaunch when the navigation bar is not centered:
First train your thumb to access the QuickLaunch panel with the navigation bar centered. Press the home button, then move your thumb up and the Quick Launch will appear. After you got used to it move your Navigation Bar to the left or right (whatever you prefer). Press the home button and move your finger up. Then press again just above the Samsung logo in the middle and the Quick Launch will appear. Still working on a better solution.
Show Pie-chart control when in expanded desktop mode:
First you have to setup the position of the pie-chart navigation in settings and activated the expanded desktop. After activating you move your finger slowly from the outside of the screen into the screen to activate the pie chart (works on all 4 sides). Just try it and be patient to get used to it!

As shown at Android-Hilfe.de you need to change the source code and then recompile the ROM. It is not possible to fix it on the finished ROM.

Hi BeeGee, I enjoyed your previous works. I dare to ask a favour...
I wonder if you can investigate the well-known Veetle HD video problem of CM10/10.1 based roms. Maybe you'll find a way to solve this strange thing: why videos in HD mode start for a second and then suddenly stop.
Thanks and excuse me if my question is of minor importance, but that app is very important to me.
Respect and keep up the good work! :good:
Hi BeeGee just wondering when you say "CyanogenMod 10.1 but flavored with my small own changes as usual".
What are the advantages with your Flavors over CyanogenMod 10.1.

Hi BeeGee, Veetle is a video streaming app, similar to Netflix, to watch videos broadcasted by users.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.veetle.android.lite
Maybe is unavailable in your area? Check also veetle.com.
Thanks!

I finally found it and had a quick check on it. The logcat shows that veetle is waiting for some response which seems not to come and then it ends the play. A report is send in the background to veetle.com. So I guess that they are aware of the problem. Not sure if I can do anything in the ROM to solve the problem. Veetle might have a problem with Android 4.2. I saw on the Google market that a lot of users are complaining about problems.
Sorry, I don't think I can help here.
PS:
I tried it on my Galaxy Note which is running Android 4.1 (CM10 based) and Veetle works there without problems.
Unfortunately I do not have a Android 4.2 ROM for my Note yet.
Maybe the problem is a combination of Android 4.x and tablet? Or a problem of the proprietary camera drivers coming from older Android version?????

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.*/
Features
You get the usual set of well known tweaks, mods and other improvements. Please check commits of the source repo which will be mentioned below for detailed list of changes. The key ones are -
Live Kernel flashing with backup support for previous kernel - Liverepack implementation of @psych.half is used, which also backs up your previous kernel (boot.img) and other system files which would be changed.
KCAL - A well known display parameters calibration driver for MSM devices, written by @savoca.
Dynamic Fsync 1.2 - We all know what it is about, dont we? Credits - @faux123
ThunderPlug - A hotplug driver by @varun.chitre15.
Kernel Add-on support - For CM based ROM only. More about it in later posts.
More features will be eventually added.
Kernel Adiutor will list 90% of stuff that can be tweaked by the kernel, rest will be mentioned in further posts.
What does not work?
Various display tweaks by Xiaomi like Reading mode etc in MIUI ROMs - That is because Xiaomi did not open source that aspect of the kernel. The same will probably not work on any Kernel that is compiled from source. But thanks to KCAL, this tweaks can be worked around, check further posts.
Compatibility
This kernel is only meant to be flashed on lollipop based MIUI 7/8 ROMs.
This kernel is also compatible with Official CM and other similar source based ROMs.
Version naming
I gave up on maintaining proper versions of a kernel, its lot of hard-work. Instead, naming scheme of CyanogenMod and other prominent ROMs has been used, reflected in the zip naming. LOCAL_VERSION will be same for all versions hence we will talk about versions on date of build basis.
Installation
Make sure the ROM on which you are going to flash is compatible. Once done, simply flash it through TWRP.
Reporting Bugs
In case an error has occurred during flashing, please report it with /sdcard/liverepack.log.
In case of kernel errors, please get me a dmesg.
Feature Requests
I mainly focus on quality rather than quantity. But still, you can request a feature you would like and I will see what can be done.
Download - Here
If you want to download MIUI version, please download the file with no suffix (zd-20160803-kenzo.zip). Suffix will come in the next MIUI update.
If you want to download CM version, please download the file with cm suffix (zd-20150806-kenzo-cm.zip).
Add-ons can be found in Addons folder. Only CM based kernel supports Addons.

Kernel Addons
There are certain features which some people want in the kernel, whereas others do not want that at all (they even dont want the feature to be present in the kernel ).
So to meet the needs, we would have to maintain to separate kernel builds, one with the feature, one without it.
Which is where kernel add-on comes to play,
Here the users will need to flash the main kernel. Then, if they choose to, they can flash the kernel addon (which generally contains a feature).
If users choose not to, that feature wont be present at all (just as they wanted), whereas for those who flashed the addon, the feature will be present.
It makes lives of both us and users easier, right?
Addons are low in size flashable zips, as the name suggests. You will need to flash addons if you choose to, after flashing the kernel.
Only CM based ROMs support addons, as init.d support is needed, which is not present in MIUI.
Also, by distributing addons, I guarantee that no copyright infringements are made.
Addons available
-Thunderplug
Workaround for Xiaomi's display tweaks
We will use different values for tweaking offered by KCAL. To do that, open Kernel Adiutor and go to 'Screen' page.
Reading mode
Set Blue to 196.
Colour mode: Warm
Set Green to 240, Blue to 208
Colour mode: Cool
Set Red to 208.
You can also tweak contrast values and other stuffs.
If you are not satisfied, feel free to tweak similarly.
Thunderplug
For some reason, TZ app crashes on MIUI, and kernel adiutor does not fully have support for ThunderPlug.
By default, ThunderPlug does sched based hotplugging. Hence stuffs like endurance mode wont work as it only works when hotplugging is done on per-core basis.
To enable hotplug on per-core basis, open terminal and type:
Code:
su
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/thunderplug/hotplug_style
To go back to sched based hotplug:
Code:
su
echo 2 > /sys/kernel/thunderplug/hotplug_style
Reserved

No Adreno idler is not implemented yet.
In sched based hotplugging, the load is shared among cores, there are no practical differences with the stock setup.
In per core basis of hotplugging, cpu cores are only plugged in when its really required, otherwise they are off.

The mistake happens after flash the kernel. I think that it is for that xiaomi the new one put in indicator of battery, in the recent xiaomi.

That change wont persist through reboot, you will have to do it everytime, or perhaps write an init.d script. Not any app supports this toggle which can provide set on boot.
And all I can make from this FP sensor issue when per core basis is it requires like all 6 cores to function, because in stock, I never saw any core go offline.

Alright, I am making a new build and will upload it as soon as its done.
Unfortunately I cant verify whether the battery bug is fixed or not.
Could you flash it and see then?
Thanks both of you for bringing this to my notice.
Let me know if there are any other breakages.

Yeah I realized that.
Looks like all CPU cores are needed for it properly function.
As in stock all cpu cores are always on, I never saw anyone go off.
I might remove hotplug in next build.

Guys (you know who u are) thanks for development sponsoring!
Awesome :good:
I tried it, both on clean install and a dirty flash, getting bootloops on both occasions.
Edit:
Managed to get it working, only bug I see is that the app permissions popups are broken, can't click them. Instead, I set permissions through the app settings screen.
Works great for me! Seems even more stable. Netflix always crashed on the RR rom. Only thing missing is hifi audio. (hm maybe netflix crashing was related to that being enabled?)

Didn't work unfortunately. Two SODs since you've gave the tip.
I experience the SOD's after i boot and let my phone rest for a couple of minutes. (this also happens on RR/6.0.1).

OK. Probably I need to revert some kernel commits. Next N build is coming, will try to address those issues..
Just add that I've running nonstop and not a single sod. The permissions problem is there though, you can't click it.

This permission issue caused by GooglePackageInstaller which replaces stock PackageInstaller during gapps installation.
Remove it from gapps during install or replace by hands with stock one (packageinstaller located in /system/priv-app)
New AICP N 12.0 build changelog:
* Video recording issue fixed
* RIL stability improved
* HiFi settings implemented
DL link at 1st page.
If you flashing on top of previous AICP version with GooglePackageInstaller removed by hands be sure to push default PackageInstaller at /system/priv-app before reboot into newly installed rom (backup-restore script will try to preserve google apps during rom installation and since GoogleInstaller was removed it will install nothing while stock PackageInstaller will be removed) or rom will not boot.
Or try to remove /system/addon.d/70-gapps.sh before flashing and reflash gapps again after rom installation.
thank you !
Wow. This is great man!
Are you gonna focus on this or are you gonna work on this and Resurrection Remix?
Hi, @faust93 Hi on AICP n build 20161015 I cant change from 2g to 3g or to 4g ,I only get 2g gsm network .Also Livedisplay and battery text do not working .Also I cant find a way to change the volume steps for music to 60 on the setting.
Edit- after replacing the sim to the sim 1 trey 2g ,3g and lte are working when I use the code *#*#4636#*# ,but putting the sim on the sim trey 1 prevent me for using the sd card slot.
Additionally, on 20161015 - I can't connect to my network... had to revert to the backup.
Edit: after restoring the backup, I still have no network @faust93, I'd be very happy if you could address the network issue...

Well.. I have totally inversed behavior! I'm using only one sim + sdcard too. But before 1015 build I was not able to change network to anything except 2g.. Weird..
About another features you mentioned - they are do not working for now, just settings knobs. Waiting for CM team to implement..

[E6683/E6653][Single/Dsds][ROM][CLANG][7.1.1][Themes]PixN Rom [3/01/17]

PixN Rom** Theme friendly ** Better Camera ** exFAT ** Optimized kernel ** Substratum ** Clang ** Custom Settings **
This is my daily driver which I update occasionally depending on weather I need/want new features. There won't be any OTA's because of work. Do please also check the Credits section, and the Screenshots tab.
I do not have a single sim device, however I have compiled kernels for the single sim and dual sim variant both.
The kernel thread has now been split to be here since the kernel gets more updates than the rom (for now atleast).
This project has been renamed to show the my first forays into more *real* development.
Please use the Feature Request tab for feature inclusion requests.
It's also very hard to keep track of bugs reported here in the comments so please, again, use the bug reports tab...
I'm very thankful to everyone commenting, it's just hard to keep track sometimes, and seeing as DevDB has all the features required...
Since I also use XDA Labs which has no DevDB support it'd be best to comment AND add the comment in the required DevDB tab..

Please feel free to report more bugs, or even request more features but I'm not a dev so, no guarantees.
Installation Instructions
Eventually these will be flashable zips, however right now they're causing an error (IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device)
So for now install by fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_3.0.2.img
I don't recommend wiping userdata via fastboot so if you want you can always factory reset or clear Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from TWRP.
EDIT:- People having trouble flashing the system.img should try with mfastboot (fix found by @katibehi)
Downloads
The DevDB downloads are for the system.img and boot.img files only. They're in 7z cuz otherwise I can't upload them.
Get the latest kernel from the PixN kernel thread here.
Beta Release 1.999
This is in the DevDB download. The changelog is incorporated into the feature list.

Beta Release 3
MAJOR RELEASE. Go get it.
Beta Release 3.1
Bugs squashed. Notably the reboot.
Beta Release 4
Biggest YET!! Most feature complete rom around.
Beta Release 5
Bigger than ever (feature wise). First and only 7.1.1 build for our devices. Happy New Year!
Sadly this release is not on DevDB.. Since DevDB won't finish attaching files as of 1st Jan and I don't even know if it'll be back. I'm really hoping for a basketbuild account, cuz then I'll be able to serve OTA's. Anyway.
For now due to popular demand this release, Release 5 is uploaded to MEGA.
Beta Release 5.5
Still on MEGA.
The link to the folder is here
Beta Release6, 7
Mega again... Until DevDB is back up assume all future releases to be on MEGA for now.

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}.
A4: Not surprising, nougat is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe this isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using Xposed. Not out for nougat yet.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please mention the kernel version and any additional files you flashed. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Sure! Whatever you can. This takes a lot of time. Apparently not.
Q10: What is this "sdclang" thing?
A10: CM is using a optimized version of the clang/llvm compiler for official builds of Qualcomm devices. I'm using it for my own builds. See these links here and here.
I've depreciated this to move to Clang 3.9 (newer).

Well.... I'd suggest you wait for a while after the reboot.. Then try the internal camera in WhatsApp... That works for me..
Though the camera problem is basically across all aosp builds until Sony or cyanogenmod or someone fixes it...
First of all thanks for your great effort! this rom is amazing.
Well time to report.
First, battery life is quite amazing, over 5 hours of sot. (around 3 in stock rom)
Second, the 64gb sd card won't get recognized... but on the other hands 32 gb one works well.
Regards,
Jerry
P.s. if you would like to solve the camera issue try to dig into @infected_'s repo... His roms had solved the camera problem.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely look into it
I'm not sure why the 64 gb cards don't work...
I'm not having issues with my 128gb sd card but it did format it before it would work..
Has it offered to format the sd card?
EDIT: @infected_ also seems to have used the same sonyAOSP repositories for his aosp build...
It's unlikely but maybe a different tool chain might help... I'll check. Also they seem to be all marshmallow builds... That might also be behind their camera working better...
camera isnt working yet on AOSP, on the kitakami/msm8994 family and all others. with some hacks msm8974 was taking pictures, but nothing stable.
regards.
What about the battery life during the night for you ?

Yikes, that seems really awful. I'd suggest you use naptime for aggressive doze.
You could also try the doze app which stops background data for chosen apps...
With naptime installed you should get much better battery life...

Ok, so I installed Doze, Greenify (without Xposed, hope that it will be compatible with Android Nougat soon ), and NapTime. Without effect, always 2-3% drain per hour.
I realized that my device won't deep sleep, it was always in activity even when I wasn't using it.
I searched for wakelocks, and noticed that Google services were faulty. I disabled some of them after searched online, and it's better
I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

I believe the sim detection in @fergy's rom has been fixed by him.. check the last posts in that thread...
I do honestly believe aosp is doing better than cm-14.1 at the moment, mostly because CMTE hasn't been doing well on the newer CM roms while Substratum is working really well...
I'm uploading a single sim kernel to release 1. Since the Uber builds are being more trouble than help...
Test it and tell me how it goes...

I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

On release 2 (testing) with the Uber toolchain, Open Camera works... however the rom is overall very laggy using uber...
So I'll be looking into other opportunities...
By the way, have you found any non-stock rom (AOSP,CM etc) here or elsewhere with a working msm8994 camera?
If yes please link the repos here, I'll gladly try to incorporate it.
