If only Spigen SGP could make a case - Nexus 7 Accessories

I wish Spigen could make a Stehen series equivalent of the case they make for 7 inch Galaxy Tab. It looks so sleek. I emailed them few weeks back but they replied there is no plans for it

Nice, but I think the closest thing you can get to that at this point is the Noreve cases. Look down a few threads and you'll see it. It's expensive, but unlike a lot of other cases out there, that seems to be actual leather, shipped from France. I personally wanted to get it but the timing wasn't right and also I am getting the Seidio Active case.

Noreve cases look beautiful. I was tempted to get one too but I'm waiting on Seidio active in royal blue instead.

This looks so much better than Noreve (me thinks...) I am willing to pay 100$ (or £ if you wish I am in the UK) for a top quality case. Although I suppose that a lot of manufacturers of premium cases thinks who is going to pay for the case half the value of their tablet. That is why you see a lot of premium products for fruit tablet which costs so much it is easier turn justify paying premium for accesiries.

Correct in that assumption. However, the Noreve cases are the closest thing to that pictured case. There are a few other options to the Noreve case that can make it different and rise the cost of the case if you like lol.
I know of Vaja, makes premium cases as well but mainly for the Apple lines. The "i-volution" line was the cases that looked similar to what you posted. I used to buy those all the time for my PDA's back in the day lol.

I've had a really poor experience with SGP screen protector so I'm not touching anything they sell, sorry. Not even cases.

Bunch of cases for Nexus 7

Not sure if these have been posted yet, but my wife stumbled upon these cases. They have a bunch that look nice. There's even a keyboard/case combo.

The problem with cases like that is the back will be covering up the speaker bar/slot which will muffle the sound of the device which imo is already too low in most cases.
http://www.casesbuy.com/google-asus...r-for-google-nexus-7-inch-tablet---white.html
I'm interested in this case if it is a TPU case (like the white a lot). They say silicone, but when I think silicone, I imagine the softer, stickier cases. It looks like TPU, though. Anyone care to guess?
Those are pretty much the same as the offerings available on eBay and Amazon, I think we'll have to be patient and wait for something decent to come out.
Might try the treegloo case but this is a nice find, thanks

Any HARD durable cases that exist yet? Any idea where to find them? been searching all day but to no luck.

Hold out for the official cover?

Anyone holding out for the official cover? Or is there a better one in existence?
The official cover is available from the play store but sucks. The flap doesn't stay closed and is just too flimbsy for my taste.
However there are pictures if the Asus Premium Nexus 7 cover that I think looks awesome. I haven't heard 1 word about it though.

We got one in at work the other day. I couldn't resist the urge to open the box to check the quality of the cover. It went right back in the box. In my opinion, it's not worth the money. I'm spoiled by the iPad smart cover.

there is a new premium case coming out end of the month.
I'm waiting on the premium case. $39.99 seems a little much but it looks pretty sweet!
In the meantime I got a $5 TPU S-Line case off of eBay and I love it!! Can't beat the price I paid for it

Indestructible case for nexus 7

My son has down syndrome, I'd like to use the nexus as a playback device for videos and communication apps.
Any recommendations on a case that can survive drops?
Am I living in a fantasy world?
Thanks

There are a number of companies who... will be making... tough cases (Otterbox for example will probably do one). I don't think there's anything around just yet though. As with any case the weak point will always be the screen, you can maybe do something about that with a heavy duty screen protector.
There aren't many tough cases for the Nexus 7 yet. I'd keep an eye on this one for when it becomes available. http://www.bobjgear.com

That bobjgear one looks pretty good and available in a couple of days.
squaretrade might be a better investment, if they cover drops and breaks
The Gumdrop ballistic case will be coming out in October.

It's your best bet for lots of protection.
Thanks. I'll keep my eye out for these.

Nexus 7 Case v. 3 Year Old

Looking for a case for my wife's Nexus 7. She has an SGP screen protector installed. The goal is to make sure our 3 year old can't get her hands on it and smash it to pieces . I'm looking at the Poetic Revolution and while it looks sweet it already has a built in screen protector, but I guess I could peel/cut it out. Thoughts? Thanks!

Actually looks pretty sweet. I'd get that for myself. Not sure if the wife would care for it though. Still awesome though.
I agree, either gumdrop or Seidio with cover. Seidio would be more attractive to a girly in my opinion (I'm a girl).
Okay

I have the pinkish color bobjgear case.. I think it looks much nicer then the gum drop . but still have good protection.. NO Built in screen protector....
I really like the protection from this case..

What case to buy?

I was wondering if someone who has had a chance to use these cases in the real world, what would you recommend?
I work in construction (often from rooftops and ladders from which my OG EVO had its demise) and I need a case that can give my M8 a decent chance at survival.
However I also don't wish to sacrifice functionality.
I owned an otterbox Defender for my EVO LTE, but dragging down the status bar was a huge pain, and the screen protector was so scratched that I removed it and simply added a film cover.
So, anyone got any good ideas?

Well I grabbed a defender for my m8, it seems more streamlined than the evo lte version, I can tell you that you won't have a problem dragging the status bar though.
I always kick out the built-in protectors, imo they end up doing more harm than good in the long run.

The commuter I picked up for $2.09 after a coupon in a Sprint store, it's a very neat looking and sturdy case for two bucks!

I tend to agree about the screen but it also protects a lot of crap getting in when I toss my phone in my toolbelt. Is the holster any better on the m8 vs the evo lte?
I was also thinking about the UAG. Anyone got any opinion how it would hold up?

I'm using the iBlason case with a kickstand in the back.
It was fairly cheap, and it works great.

Well my main problem with otterbox screen protector and the m8 is the cutouts for the speakers. Stuff would get in protector or not, but with protector there's more chance for scratching imo.

I've had stuff get in my case (results of my lte living in my toolbelt lol) and never had the screen actually get scratched. A miracle imo.
Would you say the otterbox Defender is the best? And how bulky and how easy is it to remove? It will get banged up so I tend to use something else on the weekends. Been actually thinking about trying the Commuter or UAG this time.

Well i originally went into the store to repair my cracked screen for my EvoLTE and insurance cost $100 for replacement... Well needless to say I got angry about the THREE replacement phones in 5 days and the store manager hooked me up with some major discounts including a zero downpayment on my M8 a commuter series case MSRP $39.98 here All i had to pay was sales tax on the phone $34.99, and $2.09 sales tax on case... So really i lost like $10 but its a win win for me in my eyes... I also traded in my EvoLTe got $25 out of it... Hence the reason i got the huge discounts...
So i just got lucky on a $2 case...i think they coded it as the cheapest case they could aswell... Just ask them if there is any kind of discounts they can give doesnt hurt to ask!

Doesn't look bad but I don't think it's the protection I need.
Also, the guy is wrong. there is something in a name. Otterbox replaced my case 4 times in a year. That's a big deal to me.
Thank you for the recommendation I just need more.
Think I may end up with an otter again.

I work in construction. A lot of times I'm a roofer. And most days I have my phone (not this one til I find the right case lol) in a pouch in my toolbelt hanging out with nails, prybars, and other items that would love to beat the crap outta my m8.
My og evo took it's demise from a slide down a roof, teetered on a gutter, then a quadruple backflip to the cement about 20 feet down with nothing but a plastic $10 case.
Since then I've had Defender cases. haven't had that happen again, but I hate how bulky it is. And the shield is almost worthless to me after a week on the job it's completely scratched up and the holster is too much trouble clipping on and off while working in the real world.
Anyway I appreciate your help but I'm I'd really like to know if anyone had something they thought was as durable and possibly less bulky.

Not if your in construction or any similar conditions.
I have a case mate naked tough which provides as much protection as the commuter I recently returned but looks much nicer.
I've considered the defender because I too work in industrial construction and my M8 is exposed to dust and dirt and a lot of adverse conditions..
I'd really like a lifeproof style option (waterproof , more importantly dustproof, and still stylish).
I'm the guy you want to here from. I work with at&t and am up and down poles and on the occasional rooftop as well. Suffice to say I can beat up my devices too.......plus I'm a case fanatic. I have a UAG, a Defender, and the Incipio Dual being sold by Verizon. Those are my 3 toughest cases as I also have the SUPCase with frosted back and the clear KaysCase.
It sounds like you need the Defender. It offers hands down the best protection of all my cases and is much more streamlined than previous Defender cases. Its just slightly bulkier than the UAG but has the added holster you can keep it in with the screen covered in your tool belt.
