Note 2 wireless charging - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Does anyone have any information about a wireless charging option? I mean the s3 was supposed to have it but until now nothing and I fear for the note
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

Not yet aviable an im sure it will never arrive
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app

Can you elaborate please? I mean the only reason I'm asking is for instance the S3 has been announced with it, so I guess the NoTe2 has the aptitude. plus as you can see on the picture there are two vacant connector pins which are quiet similar to the Nfc ones. It should be their purpose no?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

We know the S3 was announced with it, but it still isn't available in most of the world. Samsung is being very slow about it, and seeing how the S3 does not have a proper one yet, the Note 2 probably won't see one anytime this century.

I found this on eBay.

That's a Palm Pre Touchstone unit, which you can buy for about a fifth of that.
S3 thread on the subject of wireless charging. Did it to my S3, worked fine, just made the standard back bulge a bit with the induction unit was all.

Was that post above confirmation about wireless charging built into the note 2? Strongly considering one if it had the same charging posts as the s3

Yes the note2 has wireless charging.
You just need the unit.

Since the Note 2 uses a higher mA rate, will the currently available wireless chargers be effective? It worked on the GS3 due to a lower charging rate I assume. I saw posts where people stated they used 1A chargers from prior devices and it hardly charged their Note
2 at all.
Edit - I just realized a few minutes ago, you can use the 2A wall plug from your Note 2 right? Lol

I wish there was a way to order those Qi coils! I live in the UK and there is nowhere I can find it in Europe :=(
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

If the touchstone wireless charger charges at 1amp with its original palm charger, will it charge at 2amp if I connect the galaxy note ii charger to it?
Also wondering if I applied the palm coil to my note ii, will I be able to charge it wirelessly with the 2amp hp touchpad touchstone dock charger?
Mmmmm
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app

The touchstone will charge the note 2 from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours. Most likely a different adapter connected to the touchstone won't make any significant difference

saw that but for $75, I could do without this convenience

Nice strategy
http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entr...-Production-of-the-Galaxy-S3-Wireless-Charger
Seems the wait is almost over

So does this confirm then that the panel on the back of the Note II is ONLY the NFC antenna not a combined NFC and induction charging panel, as some people are claiming?
I did wonder what the other two connectors were all about, now it seems clear THEY are where the induction coil will attach if you have the official kit.

That's because it is 3rd party. Just like when the iphone 5 first came out and apple didn't release the adapter for it, people got it on eBay from 3rd party retailers.

Guys I would be skeptical about this. It is just the cable so you are gonna use the same charger transformer so it is not gonna charge any faster and 26 bucks totals seems like a rip. Also is this just for charging or can it transfer data? I'm gonna wait.

Once the OEM POGO cable comes out it'll cost about the same price. I'd wager it costs a little more because it's an "official" part.
As far as charging speed, it's already been found that the N10 is only pulling somewhere between 1.5 and 1.8 amps out of a USB 2.0 cable, which is a limitation of the cable itself and not the transformer. The theory being passed around the forums is that the POGO cable doesn't have the same limitation and can draw the full 2 amps.
Either way, leave us to check it out if you're skeptical. We're not signing any organs away. We know what we're getting into.

Never seen an app for it.
The only accurate way is to use an external ammeter. You could get a rough number using a household energy monitor, but that would include current used by the power supply
There are a few electrical engineers around this board, someone with a decent lab psu could graph the charging process start to finish

Oem charger cable?

Well my cable crapped out on me and I can't seem to find another one. I looked on amazon but only found knockoffs which usually die quickly as well

Why not send it back to sammy for replacement? I swear some of you guys go round robins barn looking for replacement this or that when all you gotta do is send it back to sammy. Even if you bought it second hand, I'm sure they will replace the cable. I've taken my phones into other carriers and had them replace trivial stuff... Like dead cables.

I just buy a bunch of cables from monoprice. They're cheap and I haven't seen any difference compared to the original samsung cable. Since all the phones in the house are android phones, it's easy to just buy micro usb cables in bulk.
Why buy anything if you don't have to? I could have that cable and wall charger replaced with a 5 minute phone call. That's my philosophy anyhow.

I called verizon they won't replace with anything but a 1amp charger and want my.OEM one back which was a no go. And I never knew you could call Samsung. For what it was worth I just ordered mono price premium cables since that was all o needed anyway. Samsung wanted my whole charger and its a two week turnaround I don't have a spare charger to use.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
any cheapo USB-microUSB will work to charge the phone. I use the one that came it it a lot, but I have extra cheapo in the car, in a bag I take to work, another in my backpack for school, a few more around the house.
For charging, they're fine. To transfer data, just fine too. Where I notice a difference between cheapo and the one that came with the phone is when I WiFi Tethering and using the MHL adapter while streaming a movie or sporting event. Neither can keep the phone charged, but the cheapos, the GN2 drains the battery faster. 20% per hour vesus 10%.
Thus, if you have a cable from other phones you don't use anymore, just use it. Although, I like the calling Samsung idea.
I bought this one and has worked like a charm

Cygnett 2M MicroUSB Cable

I purchased one of these cables at Fry's (Frys # 7673737) and when I use it with the usb plug block which came with the Note II it charges faster than the original Samsung cable. I also get higher numbers on the Galaxy Charging Current *Lite* app. It was originally $14.99, but on sale now for $4.95.
Hey there rvb1. How much higher were your numbers when using the galaxy current charging app? I am curious because I was in the market for a new cable and live within distance of Fry's. Wish I had known sooner, I already pulled the trigger, purchased, and now waiting for d.i.y. usb and micro usb connectors to fashion my own heavy gauge, high current cables. A few of them I will make for charging only (data ports bridged within plug) because I have another charger or two (non-samsung) that will not charge at high rate unless the data ports are bridged. Until now, I have been using a usb adapter that I made to do so. Anyway, good find and at a good price.....
With Cygnet I get maximum 1800. With the original Samsung cord I get 1300.

It may have something to do with the overall supply of power to the outlets. As in the wiring through the house. I think that's the only other legitimate option as to why we can't get the whole 2.1. Or maybe even the hp concept for cars. Maybe have 300 hp rating but after output and everything you're at 275. Just my 2 cents

Reason for the whole horsepower deal in cars it's simply the fact that at the crank or the flywheel it will make all that power it just loses the power going through the hole the whole engine to the actual wheels I can go further in detail into that but its not necessary

I don't think wireless charging works out of the box. You need to get the wireless charging kit (which has a different back cover) to do it. source:

Verizon took the charging pins out and covered the area on the note 2 so you couldnt use wireless charging. Like i said before on the in store demo version the charging pins were there so wireless charging should be an option for us.

Charging with USB cable

Hello!
Did anyone notice that after update to MK7 one can charge the watch only with the supplied charger?
I tried generic USB cable with generic USB charger and stuf ain't chargin' any more.
Perfectly fine with the supplied charger.
Any ideas what Sammy came up with this time?

Not home now but will try them off usb port in laptop (500mA). Phone chargers ar 1A (2A for note 2 & 3). Gear's charger is only 350mA, maybe they built in damage prevention from too high currents?

I've noticed with some chargers...the gear will not display a charging icon, but the unit will charge. If this happens, you may power off the gear, and then you will receive a charging animation on your unsupported? charger.
