i9305 doesn't have software update? - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

I got an i9305 from Orange, and I was just looking under About Device for some general info and noticed I have no software update options!?
Anyone know if it's located, anywhere else :S or does anyone else have the same issue?
Also does anyone know when we might start seeing some decent ROMS on this device?
Other than that, gorgeous device
Cheers

Orange have more than likely removed it .

Hi, I recently got an S3 LTE from Orange (UK). Mine appears to be unbranded and does have software update in the Settings-->About Phone section (right at the top).
I could be wrong but I think I heard that the first batch of S3 LTEs that Orange sold were like this and that an update was available, if I remember correctly you have to install the PC suite (Kies?) and update through that.
Can you confirm what Android version it is showing? (mine is 4.1.1)
hope that helps,
Grim
Edit: think I read it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935371

Broke Proximity Sensore after Mango Update

Hey Guys,
I just bought an unbranded Omnia 7 second hand in Germany. The phone does have a Mango update, which can not be official, I guess.
So I played around with it and I noticed, that the screen does not turn black when I am calling which is kind of annoying since I hung up a several times...
I went to diagnosis and made the proximity test and it says "No Detection" although my whole hands lies on the sensor/phone...
I read these problems could occur because of the mango update. No my question: are there any fixes yet?
There is also the possibility that the sensor is broke, so I need a downgrade to get my full warranty. Where can I find that?
Thanks guys for your help, lovely phone!

I think is a Hardware fault- maybe touch glass was broken and exchanged ....
but here the ROM:
1. You need this pre-NODO Rom
Samsung Omnia 7 Firmware XXJJ6 ALL PROVIDERS (select csc in flashtool your provider) tnx PavelX1 (T-Mobile branded ROM)
Included providers CSC's:
CRO - T-Mobile Croatia
DTM - T-Mobile Germany
TMH - T-Mobile Hungary
TMU - T-Mobile United Kingdom
TMZ - T-Mobile Czech Republic
VVT - Vivacom Bulgaria XEC - Movistar Spain
2. omnia 7 ROM flash guide (it conclude a un- branded ROM) tnx Casey_boy If you have problems with usb/phone port read this
full guide you find in my signature
Since I bought my phone at Media Markt, which is a normal multimedia shop it would be unwise to have a T-Mobile-like WP7 on top of my Omnia.
Now I am stuck since after the T-Mobile-WP7 downgrade I cannot access the download mode anymore...
So what now? Bring the device to media markt and hope they will fix the proximity sensor allthough it is obvious I broke the warranty?

Strange S5830M 'mount'

Hi guys.
I have a S5830M bought over the internet and I find it very 'suspicious'.
I've searched for info about it for several hours and then I've discovered something strange: my cell phone is probably from Panama.
My CSC: S5830M UWHKL4.
I'm not familiar with this codes, but I've got a match for this one at the sammobile site.
The strange thing is that the cell was delivered to me with no traces of being opened earlier AND it was already updated to Gingerbread, but what annoys me even more is that this phone has all the aplications of my operator (TIM BRAZIL), and in portugese.
What am I missing?
I believe it was some sort of scam by the store that sold it to me, but I would like to confirm it.
By the way, it's working properly - appart from the 3G hardware limitation.

Yes, thanks for the reply.
By the way, I've said some BS: my phone isn't customized by anyone. It had only the apps from the SIM card.
Please, moderatores, you can close this thread if you'd like to.

[Q] Can I also use this build?

Hey guys,
on Saturday I switched from my DHD to my new S3 LTE but I'm already missing all the nice features of having root access.
So as usual I checked the S3 LTE area but it seems like being more complicated compared to the DHD and because I just bought it I just want to be safe that I understood everything correctly.
I downloaded this toolkit as I bought the S3 LTE in Germany (provider is t-mobile) so I guess that the international one should be correct, shouldn't it?
But after I downloaded and installed the toolkit, I saw that the build shown on my phone (JRO03C.I9305XXALI7) isn't in the list, there are only XXALI5, XXALJ4, XXALJ7, but I don't get which one is the most similar: ALI5 (sharing the first letters except the number) or ALJ7 (sharing the first letters + number, but not the third letter...)?
And is it relative safe to use? (I'm well aware that anytime there could be going something wrong, just want to know if there's a real high risk ) and if there was something going wrong, would it still be repairable?
[By checking for updates for the toolkit I saw there's an update but as I'm not a donater, autoupdate didn't work and in the thread there's only the 6.0.0 version.]
And just another question: I also checked this thread but unfortunately by backing up I immediately receive the error "Received an invalid command from the phone."
Do I really need to this when I'm using the toolkit?
Hopefully you can help be and I hope that my English is just good enough + best regards
baushi

How do I update my imported phone?

I realize that this question has likely been answered here a few times, but I've read so many different answers that I'm second guessing myself.
I imported a P20 pro to the US to use on AT&T. I'm very glad that I did. It's a great phone and I've really had no issues with it whatsoever.
The model I have was an unlocked model bought through ebay and is a CLT-L29. EMUI version is 8.1.0. Build number is CLT-L29 8.1.0.121(C605)
I simply don't know where to start with updating to the latest firmware. The OTA update feature won't work on this phone.
I have firmware finder installed. I can see that updates exist for this thing. However, I don't know for sure how I download and install the update.
The methods I have read seem quite involved, which seems odd to me. It seems I should be able to download the appropriate file, stick it in a folder on my phone, reboot the thing while holding down a combination of buttons and boom...updated phone. Is this not the case for me? It always went this way for me in the past!
Please....even though I'm really really not an idiot, I need you to assume that I am and explain this to me.
I'm curious about this too. I'm also in the US on AT&T, but my device was on 128 out of the box. I'm hoping we get OTA updates when our device region gets them.

N950U1 FW Update N950U1UEU5CRG6 - Own Number unknown

Monday I updated the FW of my US unlocked Note 8 (N950U1 / SD-version) with N950U1UEU5CRG6.
After the update I noticed that in Settings - About Phone, My Phone Number is listed as UNKNOWN. I am using the phone in The Netherlands with provider Hollandsnieuwe (=Vodafone). I am certain that the actual phone number was correctly displayed prior to the FW update.
Not sure if related, but Find My Phone/Device does no longer work via Samsung or Google. Is does work through Bitdefender Anti Theft...
Anyone has this or other issue after the update? Thoughts?

Hi, on my 2 Note8 dual sim, it is said : phone number⇒ unknown. And this from the beginning (on every firmwares). I'm in france using two french sim cards in the phone and i bought my phones on samsung shop. Until now, no problem, everything works great.
My branded, but unlocked 950F, as I paid for it the full price to use it as a prepaid phone displays the same, unknown number, since day one, I bought it directly from the major carrier in Mexico which is Telcel, everything works fine, all services and VoLTE
You mean like this seeing on my screenshot? This number is only visible if it's saved into your SIM card. Since a while, the carriers/operators don't write longer the numbers into the SIM card
So if you don't see it now, you never saw it before!
But there was an xposed module (if I remember right on android 4.4.2) where you can change this (showing) number.
(It don't changed your registered phone number!)
At that time I had found that thread
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=2106490&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
That should be the correct GitHub link:
https://github.com/OXINARF/SIMNumberChanger
But it looks like there is a newer xposed module called SIMEditor - maybe that still works (when your device is rooted and xpised installed)
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.gnufabio.simeditor
Greetings

Sorry for German language. The first line: Eigene Telefonnummer means "own phone number"
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts
I've never had my phone number displayed in the information menu. As far back as the Note 3, no matter what firmware, official or custom, or even other phones. I live in South Africa. After reading @Logel's explanation, it now makes sense to me why it never showed to me, because of the way South African carriers assign numbers to customers.

I know it's not the exact same model, but my N950F/DS shows my phone number there like normal. Not sure why it's not showing in your case though.
