[dl][ota][ics]6.7.246.xt875 - Motorola Droid Bionic

Removed all my Dropbox links because they disabled my account due to too much traffic, if you guys want them back please consider donating a buck or two for a Mediafire Pro account...You MUST be stock, you WILL lose root (use voodoo to keep it and restore after update) also you CANNOT go back to GB after the update, you WILL brick your device lol (you've been warned)
I won't be held responsible if you brick your device, apply via stock recovery

I won't mind as many mirrors as possible...my Dropbox account has been "disabled" a few times for other posts/leaks, just wouldn't mind a PRO Mediafire account for the future, it gets old when I have to wait days for links to work again

Verizon just finished the limited group soak test. I got it and it's running nice. Maybe a tad more smooth than the 232 leak did.
The general availability of the OTA should start in a few days.

Sorry mirror got pulled to much traffic I have been suspended on drop box. first time for everything!

I can host this for a bit
If you can get this file to me I will host it for a few days for free. This is the new official ICS right?

Oh, Those are House of Bionic executables that help you install the update. I just want the ROM so I can install it over the ICS beta manually.

Pm me your email and I will send it via Google drive
Or you can just download the installer and pull the update zip from there on the house of bionic.

My link was pulled as well, this happens a lot haha

I extracted the data and tried to install from SD over top of ICS Beta and am getting installation fail errors:
assert failed: mount("ext3", "MTD", "system", "/system")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
FYI I am on the ICS Beta Leak. Any ideas? DO I have to go back to .905 first?

Maybe not, if you're using some of the HoB magic. I went back to 905, just to have a clean system, so I can't comment on HoB really.
After my upgrade I factory wiped again to get rid of all the leftover GB stuff.
Your error is indicative of some leftover custom config that isn't cleaned up. Sounds like you or a tool you used made modifications to the mount_ext3.sh script in an effort to preserve root during upgrades. If you can't clear this error manually you'll have to restore to 905.

Going back to .905 then going to update to .246
Yeah I have to RSD back to .905. Then I will try a manual update to .246. Wish me luck! Ok, so total success. I Used RSD to go back to .905 :
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...compatibility-and-alternative-886893902-fxzs/
Then I extracted the 246 build from the file on Samurai:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?q1e4om1vaatrpcg
Put it on the SD card and rebooted into Recovery (Hold power and both volume up/down buttons simultaneously and click down once then up once. When you get the android logo with the ! go ahead and hit volume up/down simultaneously again) and ran the update.

If you rsd first to stock .905 you will be fine applying update manually.

BTW the Samurai method has issues

First it wants to install to your desktop. After changing it to Program Files and installing all the exe's I get FXZ file not found anytime I run the utility. Very odd.

I'm looking for someone to test out a Fastboot XML zip file with RSD Lite. It's similar to an SBF file, which Motorola no longer uses for their new devices.
If you are interested in being the guinea pig, PM me. The file will bring you back to stock and possibly restore bricked users.

I thought a sbf was released for the Droid3, when did Motorola decide not to use them anymore?
The Droid 3 is probably one of the last Motorola phones to have SBFs, from now on we'll be using Fastboot XML Zips, or FXZs.

Can I use this on a pre-release Bionic without worry? The only difference I have found between my pre-release Bionic and retail units is that mine has a slightly different baseband version.

This for real? Anyone else see this update? I can't believe that there would not be more press on this if was actually rolling out.
No. We would see documentation from vzw. The op is either confused or lying.

It's Real!
The screen capture of the dialog is at:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HU4aB6YX0F-9C2zqoRBSRA?feat=directlink
Funny thing when I did:
find /cache -mmin -5
I found the files were actually named:
/cache/Blur_Version.5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip
/cache/Blur_Version.5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US.crc
I have copied these files to my sdcard, if anyone has a place to host them let me know!
From my logcat
10-30 17:59:19.468 757 1867 I WSBase : doRequest(): url: http://ws-cloud2-sdc100.blurdev.com....5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US:-143928019&ssl=0
Interesting. Perhaps a vzw push mistake? Usually we see documentation before these go out.

I've tried to install twice and failed
Just to let you know, I have downloaded and attempted to install the update twice.
Once, foolishly hoping I could just update R3Blur3d, and again from close to stock.
This last time, I attempted the update from within Clockwork Recovery, and it gave me some details, the automatic update didn't:
assert failed for the file /system/build.prop, rebuild.fingerprint.
To me, it looks like, if the /system/build.prop file is modified, then this OTA won't go through.
I'm going to make sure, I'm as close to stock as possible and try again!
You would have to flash these in stock recovery on a forever rooted stock phone. Don't use clockwork.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Very Interesting
Once my phone was set totally back to stock, my phone said that there is no update available. It still says that it will not install the update zip file I have due to a problem with the build.prop file.
Originally, I was running R3Blur3rd, which had system files based upon 5.5.893. So, I'm not sure what this update notification meant.
OTA 5.5 Update is being rolled out in batches in an attempt to prevent another data outage like they had when the iPhone 4s rolled out. Fyi

When you get this flashed, please post a screen shot of your about phone settings. The 5.5 file is much larger than 5.6. The 5.6 file has a new LTE radio and webtop app nothing more. So technically, you should receive both 5.5 & 5.6 OTA.
Thanks

I have been searching treads like crazy! I just got a LG-D415 and used every single rooting tool.. yet did the new OTA update first not thinking.. now none of the tools will root. I even used the new towelroot thing which most people said works. I hate not having a rooted phone and don't feel like waiting for the tools to update to cover my OTA update.. is there anyway around this? I figured installing the stock rom would fix it but it seems to install that you need root for twrp/cwm and I can't find any signed roms to install on the factory stock recovery.

The First ROM Download For SM-S920L Straight Talk USA

This rom will get your phone back up and running!!
!!WARNING!!
I'm not responsible or liable for anything that may happen to your phone if you download and install this firmware!
This is a WORK IN PROGRESS!!!
Please feel free to help me make this rom better!
P.S.
This is not a STOCK ROM I was lucky enough to build one from parts and pieces of other stock firmware's that are available for download. Only use this rom if you turned your SM-S920L into a $200.00 bookmark!. As of right now there is no Stock firmware for this device and lots of other straight talk phones also.
Get It Here!!
Little Different ROM???
Lame. I wouldn't donate for a stock rom even if it did exist.
***EDIT***
Ok, so I see you removed the donate link, but the google drive link is not currently working. Is this a custom rom? If so, I don't think I'd be willing to risk my phone without a working custom recovery to backup and restore my phone should something go wrong.
So, I am guessing this is the stock ROM?

I Bricked my SM-S920L after rooting then loading my usual apps, but when installing XPOSED FRAMEWORK after the reboot, no sound and locked at the Straight Talk (Blue) loading screen. Trying to wipe cache or doing a factory reset was usless.///..//>>?? It was a goner with no help anywhere!! But was always able to get into download mode! If this happens to you, then you might find my Frankenstein ROM useful. I was able to make calls but no WiFi or LTE or 3G. So use this ROM as last resort only!!! And yrs Use whatever ODIN version you like...
P.S. if your having problems downloading from Google Drive, I will place it elsewhere. Let me know. Also it took me a long time to get this ROM put together so a thanks would be greatly appreciated!
Good luck and happy ROMing!

Hey Brekstar, are you by chance still working on this? Do you have a way of extracting the stock Rom?

Get Chainfires Flashfire app and do a full RAW backup. Compress it any which way you like and upload it. From there I can try to compile a bootable rom for us (I'm desperate and now have some knowledge to do so...as close to factory as possible, please!

I can do this if you are still wanting the RAW backup.
There are tons of things to backup according to the app, do you know which ones you want?
I will post it online once I get the backup made.

The partitions needed would more than likely be from Normal Backup type, but he's asking for full or Force Raw Backup, in case of a wiped partition that would render a bootup impossible
Run a normal backup for now, just to get the OP's backup replaced so that a last resort ROM could work as daily driver :fingers-crossed:
Is this still being worked on?
