Fantastic ! Thank You very much !

Welcome, looking forward to see how this turns out. Dont see why you would remove Touchwiz launcher but thats easy to put back. So this is based on LI2 JB OTA, i guess, and thats a wise choice. Its much more complete than the LI1 OTA.
Suggestion for theme: if you could theme the settings.apk background black, i hate the white background. Its been done on the ICS Samsung roms for GT-P7500 and i guess its pretty much the same with the firmwares for the Note 10.1. Heres a link to the rom in question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813651
it also has the contacts background themed in black and some more apks. Think this would be absolute tiptop and it would probably be highly appreciated by the users.
Waiting for release

oh yea i removed the touchwiz since thats the only app that is causing the graphic flickering and ill put it back after i fix that issue.
BTW i took note of the rom you showed me ill try to base the theme from that rom :good:

Let me know if you need help with testing. Regarding screen flickering, i read that some are effected by it. Im not! No icons disappering for short time or screnn blinking. Good luck with developing and let us know if you need help.

I'll download and flash it asap mate, I don't like custom launchers though, which have been made for profit.

THIS IS THE ONE I TRIED AND TESTED STRAIGHT UP ^^^
The attached ones are not tested. But when I installed the apks manually and it asked me to replace I clicked yes and installed over the top of the other one and installed 10.1 flash player. I have tested this and it worked the same as the first install.
**If someone would like to flash the smaller zip and tell me if they were effective or not that would be great as it will save space in system for us that are already wary on size
BOTH are CWM flashable zips and install plug ins

thanks for your work...i installed the large file from CWM, but i think it wasn't installed properly...i couldn't find any of the plugins in System/lib...nor the apk in System/app...so i guess it's not working correctly...
Should i copy the files manually?

Check for app starting with F for FLASH PLAYER it will be there... I made the same mistake
Also, the flashplayer plugins are not made to install to the typical system lib as they have specific permissions as you may see in the script (another reason why so many people who have done as you have suggested and failed - hey I am not picking on you cause I have done that too haha)
What that means is that there is a reason for why they are installed under
/system/lib/plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer
permissions are specific for that folder ^^^
EDIT:EDIT....Im so stupid. I am making two zips at once...please disregard that comment. Files removed again LOL. Wifi...and flash sheeesh haha

Actually I have just adjusted the install just incase you don't have the module or the rild file....which I assumed was included in all ICS builds.
Try the installation again with the new zip package see if that works?
EDIT: Just checked against a stock OneCosmic build and the rild file is different size and date, so maybe the new one will work, if not I will upload mine. But I think all bases will be covered....your one should work if its there the module on the otherhand may not be there depending on your ROM?

strange...hmm it worked fine for me? I have had some build prop updates and that may have changed something allowing flash to work?
Either that or it too maybe TW framework determined? that sounds like a high possibility since all system files are signed against a framework. Let me make another adjustment and tell me if that works?
EDIT: See I already had the touchwiz framework embedded, you however do not. Flashable zip updated

+1 on this. I'm on ICS Passion, and the only flash problems I'm having are higher bit-rate files, such as the ones on Amazon's library.
I thought it would be ROM related, as a 2.3.4 ROM I had played totally smoothly.
Please let me know if this would help!
OK, so official flash doesn't work properly in ICS with anything other than Google's browser.
Since I find the official browser sub-standard and lacking in key features (compared to Opera and Dolphin) I would like to have flash working on the aforementioned browsers as it used to do in Gingerbread/Froyo. Is *this* what this patch addresses or it merely fixes problems of flash in the official browser (which as I said don't even use, uninstalled even)...
If so I would have to give it a whirl, if not please tell me so that to avoid the unnecessarily flashing... Thanks.

So latest didn't work for you?
When you say it didn't work...are you "looking for an app" or are you testing the flash capability in the browser set to request desktop and playing a youtube clip?
Can you try that before saying it didn't work please. I need proper feedback. Saying it didn't work doesn't help

Always do a backup before flashing any file, but give it a whirl and see how this go?
Do you have Rootbrowser? If so can you navigate to /system/lib and see if there is a plugins folder?

Understandable. I believe that the stock browser (if it has it and its not just hearsay) can play at normal mobile website flash clips, but struggles when you go to a desktop site or it falls over. You have the option to force or request desktop site in browser but no option for mobile for sites that are not mobile equiped? Which kinda sux and defeats the purpose and restricts you to like "youtube" only sites....hence why I did my test in on the desktop version of the site
Brings to my attention that I should actually test in other browsers. I was under the impression that flash doesn't work all together on ICS...and when seeing the builds and install and noting no plugins for flash support it didn't surprise me at all
EDIT: Just thought I would quote this from my other thread

It got late for me last night and doing too many things at once. It's my weekend here tonight so will give this a good going over

Tablet UI [AOKP][CM9]

Has anyone tried out the tablet ui of ICS on their captivate? I've been toying around a little bit with it.
My Setup
I'm currently running CM9 nightly (4-25 as of now) with Semaphore kernel (gotta have my voodoo sound)
Launcher is latest version of Nova.

More info on modding the framework to allow tablet ui once dpi is set to 128 Here thanks to Xylograph
Also here on the epic touch 4g
Tried AOKP build 23 got several FC's, but played around with it enough to know that I want more =]
Today at work I tried CM9 (I read that it works with fewer FC's) Flashed the latest glitch kernel (from AOKP rom) shortly after flash to get voodoo sound working.
CM9 worked pretty good, although I am a bigger fan of AOKP.
In CM9 I got FC's on gmail, and on youtube.
Also the market not supporting the dpi. I tried the hacked market for the gnex but it didn't work so well.
EDIT: I was able to fix the market using LCD density modder pro. It has the ability to download a hacked market. Just followed on screen instructions and it worked fine after a reboot.
I would like to tweak and get the tablet ui working well as a daily driver. I think its pretty badass and like seeing more with the tablet mode.
As far as the launcher nova (in their most recent update) has included tablet support. Which really makes this mod a lot more functional.
Has anyone else tried this? Would like to get some other opinions on this.
What builds and kernels have you tried?
I plan on trying more builds tonight (aokp 31 and 34).
If you are on CM9 or AOKP flash the framework fix, install nova or update it, then set your dpi to
128. Give it a try you might like it as much as me.
molesarecoming has started working on a ROM specifically working towards tablet ui mode. It is for the Nexus. His thread is here.
Keyboard
So, you might have noticed the keyboard is a little skewed.. Well molesarecoming has improved the keyboard a bit (still working on it) but I have uploaded LatinIME.apk for those who like using this mod. Just copy over the /system/app change permissions and reboot. Looks alot better now.
Thanks
Trying this now, I shall report back later after i have played around with it a little bit.
Edit: Its really nice! I like it but my only problem is i'm constantly squinting at my screen and focusing on hitting the right button, if they could get this awesomeness at a higher dpi then i'm sold. Do you know of any mods that throw a the notification bar at the bottom and act like the tablet one, i actually prefer that over the normal system.
Yeah unfortunately the dpi is very small. Don't forget to set your font to Huge.
I'm not quite sure what you mean as I have never really gotten to play with any tablets. This is what my notification looks like,

You need to change your density to 128. There are a few tools you can do this with and aokp includes the setting in rom control. I use LCD density modder pro from the market because of the hacked market fix.. but anyone should work. Search LCD density.

Oh yes I mean that but at a normal phone level dpi
I'm sure with the help of some great Devs this might be possible pretty soon. One problem you would run in to with a higher DPI is that the apps (say gmail) is the same app.. but running it at the lower DPI puts it into tablet mode. You can follow molesarecoming's rom (link in OP) seems to have a lot of interest. And he's making progress.. I'm no dev by anymeans.

What zip are you trying to install and what ROM?
For the easiest install make sure you have the lastest CM9 nightly.
Flash the ROM, GAPPS, then Tablet_UIMOD_CM9.zip, Restart do your setup and google logins and whatnot (might be easier for you before you change to tablet mode), then switch your dpi to 128 and reboot into tablet mode.
I have never seen that error so I'm not sure, just make sure you have the right files downloaded for your ROM

I haven't flashed b33 but I have b32 and b34. They essentially work the same. Are you still having problems flashing it? Perhaps redownload from a different link and try again.

Font Size
I have been messing around with new font's and sizing. I installed a new font but I don't think it has affected much.
However I did find an app Big Font which allows you to scale the font up to 180%. Now 180 is too much as I noticed clipping at 140% of the clock on the lockscreen when it read 10:10 for instance. So I am currently running it at 135%. I can't really tell if it has made a difference or not since I changed the font first and have been messing with the scaling. If anyone wants to try it out its a free app.

Thanks to qalter from Russia
Very stable and a great alternative to those who want a pre rooted GB Rom with many useful Apps.
Just one thing i forgot to mention... live wallpapers are not supported so to maximize battery.
looks good .....
does this rom has updated graphic drivers ....
can you post some benchmarks like nenamark2 and quadrant ....
No updated driver as far as i can see, feel free to benchmark yr own X6 though.
Somehow this Rom fixed my crazy screen axis reversal issue i was having on this X6 so im happy.
Im still to try tonight on my other X6 the Apanda101 stock rom and Huawei's U9000 V2.610 Rom, which was the last official Rom they made for our unit.
cheers
Is it possible to get original thread for this ROM

The Apanda 101 Stock 2.3.5 Rom installed fine, pitty the screen was unresponsive!? Hrmm.. i thought they were internally the same, maybe it has different hardware?.
Didnt get round to installing the last official Huawei Rom, will give it a go later tonight.
Anyone want the Apanda 101 Rom to try for themselves just ask, it was a ***** to source and then extract from the .msi
cheers

you can bro ..... flash it through CWM and enjoy.
Some inbuilt apps like night time, uber music, I love them. Everything works fine. Even games runs very smothly
In an all its good ROM like RC2 with some optimized functionality
do you need patched boot.img ?
What is patched in boot.img? Android commander is just like a frontend for adb you just need debugging mode on in your device as afaik. Then it works with all the roms.

What i do know is this install is terrific formatting all old data.
He says there are 2 more Dragon versions to come, the one im looking out for is Dragon-S, based on Sharp Rom.
this rom is fast! but after market has updated to play it can't be opened. FC every time. Tried rebooting the phone but that doesn't help. And gps doesn't work for me but it doesn't on the original maclite either. And even if I change language to english some apps are still in russian, like TB.

I mean.. one of my WellcoM A99 X6 had the crazy screen reverse axis issue and ??somehow?? this rom made the issue go away. No Rom's have the issue my phone has the issue. Its not the first WellcoM A99 X6 that ive had that has the issue either, I previously purchased another WellcoM A99 X6 which had the issue and i returned it to Thailand within the warranty period for a replacement. Unfortunately and more bizarrely this particular X6 acquired the issue after the warranty had expired so i had to live with it.
EVERY other Rom ive tried on this X6 eventually over a space of a week from fresh install resulted in me not being able to use the phone. Simply unlocking the phone from sleep was a nightmare it wasn't letting me drag the unlock all the way to the right, and wanted to do the opposite which is put the phone on silent.

All roms on XDA have the risk of bricking your phone, thats why devs post them here so it can be tested. Now that he knows it doesn't boot he will try to fix it. Don't post pointless posts if it doesn't boot just say it doesn't.

developers aren't supposed to be pushing out untested work, especially if it doesn't even boot. you should check the other forums if you think Saranhai's posting "pointless posts". sure, they're not responsible if your device bricks and that is a possibility, they don't push out ROMs so "it can be tested". no, when they push out ROMs, users expected it to already have been thoroughly tested. they post our work on XDA because they want to share our work. that's what XDA is about, sharing, not "oh i'm just going to push some junk out without testing it myself and hope it boots".
it's common sense really.
I agree.

You won't know how much bullsh't of ROMs are posted in forums for old devices. For example some pre-pre-alpha CM10 versions (i have a lot more examples) which also didn't even boot. The "Devs" just want to grab the f'cking thanks from the people (for whatever reason). The people are glad that somebody care about their device but in the reality they make one build of their Rom, and dont support them anymore cuz they are no devs and didn't even have the device. And nobody care's about whether it's booting or not.
I think the creator of this ROM has ambitions to solve the bugs and he has the device to test it. But if he has no time than he has no time so what should we do? Do you think 'bashing' him makes his work booting?! Did u even know that if ROM developement threads have no links to the ROM there's a risk to get closed?
And finally:
Its almost impossible to brick your phone because of a ROM, to do that you have to be a very very very silly person, so everybody calm down and let him solve the bugs.

[ROM FIXES and SOLUTIONS] TouchWiz-Resurrection [V7.0]

Howdy all 5830i users.
Recently, i´ve tried installing TouchWiz-Resurrection ROM to my machine. It´s very fast and stable rom, BUT, as far as i found out, it has few issues that you might encounter after installing it.
First of all, bare installation :
It´s clasic Clear/Wipe Data,>> Clear/Wipe Cache >>Advanced in CWM recovery >> Clear/Wipe Dalvik cache >> installing from zip (you can find this rom here on xda).
Right after you reboot your system, you might get stuck in a bootloop. This happens quite often, but dont worry, load up recovery mode and Clear/Wipe Cache and then reboot.
Second thing you might encounter is a missing camera .
This might be easily fixed by adding stock camera.apk file (throughout Root Explorer) to system/app folder.
camera.apk file (thanks to srt99)
Set permissions for camera.apk like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Third one
i encountered is, that if you install this app, it might not be compatibile with kernel and camera setting will have GIANT FONT therefore i suggest installing this one (its Rafael Baugis Kernel and it allows you to use different frequencies ). After installing just reboot. You can find the kernel bellow in attached files.
4th one is annoying.
Default sound for alarm is always set to silent, therefore you have to change it specificaly in each one of new alarms. I solved this by installing Alarm Clock app from Google Play.
And the final one got me. It´s a bug, and this rom can´t sometimes find contacts on SIM card. You can either reflash (but i don´t know if this helps) or you can export your contacts to gmail or SD card and then import them back.
Well, these are just the ones i´ve encountered, hope this helps someone.
And a huge thanks to Sniper Killer for this rom
Contacts bug sim is due to the use of custom kernel.

No i don´t mind. I´m new to all the android stuff and in past week i started testing a few custom roms. And since there is a possibillity that i wont stay with one rom (in this case this one) for a long time, it´s always nice to have all the info and fixes in one place in a case of returning to that particular rom (well, maybe my brain capacity is not large enought, but i cant realy remember every solution for every particular rom ) without additional googling or thread searching. So i decided to make this thread in a case more newbies like me will experience the same issues and on the second note, for me as a memo and a learning thread .

One more thing, don't ask for rom suggestions. Don't be lazy and try some rom. Try the one fitting your needs.

Installing Rafael's kernel gives more stability and performance. Init.d scripts won't work without the custom kernel. Neither big camera's settings.
Actually there's a workround for SIM Contacts bug. You should install the ROM from XK555 frimware or even VJCKL or something like that. A user reported this long time ago but personally I was lazy to test. It might be useful to you or any other.
As for camera, while editing the ROM i saw that the camera's icon wasn't changed. So i changed it on mobile using NinjaMorph due to computer issues. Everyone knows that replacing pngs on camera app is going to result on losing it. I forgot about that and uploaded the ROM without testing.
The alarm's clock can be set manually when you set an alarm.
And the rest is on the Useful Utilities post on the OP.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying those things!
Teddy!

Thread title quotes : TouchWiz-Resurrection, so it would be counterproductive to post solutions for another rom here.

Thanks for answering. Camera thing is realy easy to fix, so it doesn´t matter I think by "alarm´s clock can...." you meant "alarm sounds can ...", yes, alarm sound can be changed when setting alarm, but it´s realy annoying to set a tone for every particular alarm, so it´s easier to use an app. What i kinda don´t get is your solution for SIM contacts. What do you mean by installing those roms ? It would flash the one by you, or not ?

One more thing, don't ask for rom suggestions. Don't be lazy and try some rom. Try the one fitting your needs.

Well, to be completely hones, i realy don´t have that much time to change roms everyday, and i need phone on daily basis, so that´s why i´m asking. But sure, asa i´ll have more time, i will test more roms
