Note 2 Charger for Wall/Car! - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Hi guys. I would like to know what to look out for when buying a 3rd party charger for the Galaxy Note 2. For wall and car. I am using a cheap usb car charger which i bought from ebay ard $2 for my old Galaxy S2 and it works great. But when I charge my new Note 2, it was very slow.
Sent from my GT-N7105

The stock Note 2 charger is rated at 2A, so anything less will charge the Note 2 slower.

Soo ill just find a 2A usb adapter for my car or wall? will it make my battery faulty using a 3rd party 2A usb adapter?

Depends on the quality of the charger. You get what you pay for. Cheap & nasty is usually exactly that.
If in doubt, put the thing on a multimeter and check its output.

Car charger for NOTE 2.

i bought a 3rd party 2A Car charger and it still charge my Galaxy Note 2 slow. Anyone can recommend me a good charger which u guys are using right now?

Very unlikely that will work if doing intensive stuff on the note as the charging is made for Apple products we have a long thread discussing car chargers in the Sprint forum

This is the charger that I use. I admit that I don't charge my Note II in the car very often, but the few times I've used it, it worked well.
+1 - I use this charger and it seems to charge just as fast as my AC adapter, although I've never used the phone simultaneously as its charging. Obviously i have it plugged in to the 2A side.

Very hard to beat this charger. I have a few of them to take on trips and such, in case I forget it. Fast charging... at least double to triple what I saw trying to charge off a USB port (car or PC).
Plus you can't beat the price! Just make sure it's genuine (the one on amazon is).
Just bought one of THESE 3 days ago. Works fine here.
So do any of these actually charge at 2A? Does CurrentWidget report it as 2A?
Do they significantly increase battery life while in heavy use (using satnav with screen on)?
Thanks.

Original Samsung Craddle

Hey all!
Today I got the Official Samsung Craddle. This one to be precise. http://www.smartphoneshop.nl/product/199368/123781/5076/samsung-desktop-dock-for-sii-siii-note.html
However, I noticed it charges ultra slow. It goes like 1% per 5 minutes. Does anyone else have experience with this thing for the Note 2?
Should I return it?
And if so, which dock would u suggest?
Grtz,
Dancol
Anyone?
I can't comment on that product specifically, but I have 2 USB chargers in my car both with a 2 amp output, one's a Samsung product for charging my Tab, the other is a Griffin, both will charge my phone even when using the Sat nav, at about the same rate the actual wall charger works at, so there has got to be something wrong with your unit.
The only way of knowing for sure before passing judgment, is to get a normal car charger with the 2 amp output the phone needs and compare the charging time against it and the dock you have.

1 amp will be enough to charge, but will charge much slower than a charger with a 2 amp output.

Didn't know that would pretty much reduce my charge time to 20%. Normally it goes somewhere around 1% per min but with the dock it went 1% per 5 mins!

I have the same dock and it seems to be a limitation of the dock.
I use the charger and USB cake that came with the Note 2, but it still charges slowly (with the phone screen turned off)
If I pull the cable out of the back of the dock and plug it into the phone directly, it charges sit twice as fast.
I think the dock only puts out 1 amp, even with the 2 amp charger connected to it.

2A Charger Please

I have read countless threads and looked at many chargers and I just can't seem to find a 2a car and a 2a home charger. I just ordered this charger and this cable and it just doesn't work above 700ma. When I use the stock cable I get to 1300mah for a sec and then about 900 steady. This is on both ports. Someone please help me before I lose it! The only one that works at 1500mah is the cable and charger that came with my phone.
Charger
Cable
Thanks in advance.
Well, I can say from repeated certainty that this 6' cable charges at the same rate as the stock cable but is actually nice.

Also, my Qmadix car charger with dual 2.1A ports does very near stock AC levels when charging 1 device. My results are in the mega 2A car charger thread, but that's a spendy charger.

I saw a cable at Best Buy which is pretty nice, it has El Wire that flashes quickly(battery at 0-65%), slow (battery at 66-99%) and turns off when the battery is full. Would that cable be okay to use to charge my phone?

I have a cheap gas station 2 port usb car charger rated at 2amp for one port and 1amp for the other. Works great and I think it cost maybe 10 bucks. My phone charges at well over 1300mah in the car using a cheap usb cable I got at walgreens or some ****

I'm also looking for 2A replacement... How's the charging time compare to the stock Note 2 charger?
how do you measure the output while the device is charging? Is there an app to test how much juice is coming in real time?
I use a 2A HP Touchpad charger in my living room and a T-Mobile branded 3A dual USB charger in my bedroom (see links below). The T-Mobile charger charges my Note2 from 9% to 100% in less than 2 hours when I only use 1 of the USB ports. I'm not sure what the rate is when both ports are used. I've had this for a couple years and use it to charge (individually and simultaneously) my phones and tablets without any problem.

That's because the iPad charger doesn't have the data pins shorted out to enable fastcharge . Easiest way to accomplish fastcharge with your charger, is to buy a charging cable (data pins shorted out, so it is not a data cable:
http://dx.com/p/usb-male-to-lengthe...for-samsung-i9500-9300-htc-white-100cm-207353
It even has the lengthened micro usb connector the Nexus 7 needs.
Or maybe better, buy this one, found in another thread here on XDA, this one is confirmed to work in fastcharge mode with any usb charger:

Yes I know, and that's the reason the iPad charger won't work on fastcharge.
You need to either shortout the data pins of the iPad charger, or use a charger cable with shorted data pins ( a so called charge-only micro usb cable) to make the iPad charger use full capacity (fastcharge mode). There are also cable adaptors for sale that will shortout the data pins for you.

Yep, that one works because it follows the USB standard rules, and not the Apple USB standard.
No iDevice (iPhone/iPad) charger will fastcharge an android phone or tablet without modifying the datapins or use a charge-only cable / adaptor.
The Blackberry Playbook charger is known to work
Get an HP touchpad charger if you can. I can provide empirical evidence that it will actually charge your n7 20 minutes faster than the stock charger. I posted a thread about it here some time ago. "Best aftermarket charger ..." Or something like that.

Check Ebay -= just did a quick search and got 131 hits anywhere from 8-20 USD. I"ve bought 2... one is firmly set to be my preferred travel charger for any USB device.

If the charger puts out less than the tablet needs then it will just charge slower (or not at all if it's really low) and if it puts out more than the maximum the tablet uses the extra will just go unused. Voltage is a different issue.

Having your device plugged into a USB 2 500mA computer port obviously charges slower then a 2000mA wall charger. It would be pretty faulty design if plugging your device into your computer would cause hardware damage.
Man, this really sucks, the Monoprice cable mentioned earlier in this thread is having the same issue I had with another micro USB cable, it doesn't seem to fit into the Nexus 7 snugly, it doesn't seem to go in all the way. (I hope I don't have a busted charging port), It doesn't seem to charge it at all, even with the stock Nexus AC adapter. I'm about to break down and buy the official Google charger again, even if all I need is a new micro USB cable.
I'm using 2 different monoprice cables, one in my car and one at home, and both fit well. Sounds like the port has gotten damaged.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2
So, I just decided to buy a whole new charger off Amazon. If that won't work and I determine that the micro USB port is busted, I'm not going to be very happy, haha. does anyone know if Google repairs them for a fee?
I use a Playstation Vita charger which seems to charge my N7 very fast. On the other hand, I've tried an old mobile charger also and the battery level goes down whilst plugged into it.
If under warranty and purchased from the PlayStore, yes, otherwise, if under warranty, ASUS.
