Because we don't have the GPU sources for the GT-S5830i to build CyanogenMod, no 7.2, no 9, neither 10.
The GT-S5830 has another GPU (Adreno 200) than the GT-S5830i/M/C/9i (Broadcom VideoCore IV (HW) BCM2763).
Also it has another CPU, the old Ace has an QualComm MSM7227, the new Ace an Broadcom BCM21553.
The Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 has the same hardware as the GT-S5830i, so if it has a custom ROM (CyanogenMod), we'll (and of course you'll) have it too.
You have to build a ROM from sources. If you miss a part, you cannot build the ROM.
It's not that if you build the ROM without the GPU sources, and you get the GPU sources later, you can build them and add them to the ROM. You have to build everything at the same time, together. (Needs vertification.)
So if we get the GPU sources, we can build CyanogenMod.

Porting from Samsung Galaxy S

Can't we port our ROMs from Samsung Galaxy S l900..
As it almost have the same hardware...
When i was buying mi410 at store, i rejected Galaxy S for not having flash and price.
If someone can try as they are nowadays running 4.2.2... with almost everything working..
Here's the link Samsung Galaxy S l900
thank you..
We should first have a working kernel for 4.2 JellyBean before porting anything.
^_^

[Q] HELP!Porting rom from Galaxy mini to Galaxy mini SGH-T499

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to port a Android 4.0 rom from the Galaxy Mini GT-S5570 to the Galaxy Mini SGH-T499(Also known as the Samsung Galaxy Dart). I am using a Gingerbread build for the Galaxy Dart as a base rom. I flash it but it just goes to the boot screen and stops. I don't know if it was possible but I tried to port the Android 4.0 rom anyway. At this piont I don't care because development for the Samsung Galaxy Mini SGH-T499 has seem to stop. I'm a noob when it comes to porting so if anyone can make a Jellybean or ICS rom for it please do so. At the moment it just has 2.3.6 while all the other galaxy mini varients have 4.x builds. You can find the builds and source at MADteam.co. Please help with the development, or help me with my porting issues.
Device is listed under Samsung SGH-T499 (Galaxy Mini/Dart)

No, it is posibble, most mini roms were ports from the galaxy 5 player and galaxy y. I've seen a post on MADTeam where a man had ported miui to the Samsung Galaxy Dart using a Galaxy Mini rom which was ported from the Galaxy S I9000. I just want to know if i could port an android 4.0 rom using a gingerbread rom as a base?

[Q]Which is the best version of the 8190?

Hi, I'm planning to purchase a Galaxy s3 mini.
Which version should I buy for the best compatibility with the published roms and kernels?
And do CM developed ROMs for this phone are bugless?
I ask because the roms for galaxy s2 are not fully compatible because of lack of source code.
I'm looking for a bugless rom with good battery life and faster ui than the stock.

Only one s3 mini is available not others. If you are talking about gti8190 or gti8190N or gti8190L I think i8190 but these are really very simiral and have same Roms. I8190n had NFC support but I don't know what it is! I8190L I think is for north America but I'm not sure...

I don't think that S3 Alpha is similar to S3 LTE Int. But if it is you can try kernels from I9305(and no developer will work on device that he doesn't have)
judging by the specs it might be the same phone, same processor, same sensors etc. Only the CPU clocks higher than the one in the i9305 with 1.6Ghz (like Note 2) than the 1.4Ghz in our phone. This article compares the S3 Alpha to the Note 2, stating it has the same specs as the Note 2.
You could ask a dev or try a kernel which was meant for the i9305 or Note 2 on your own responsibility.

did you flash one for i9305? I assume it's a soft brick. What kernel did you flash in the first place?
