Will this USB charger work properly with stock Asus USB cable ? - Nexus 7 Accessories

Pls reply fast any1. I am really struggling as the I got my nexus 7 from USA and I can't use the USA charger in India. I have this Samsung charger - ATADU10IBE, but it is charging very slowly, like 1% in 20-30 mins. Thanks in advance.

Also if this won't work properly then can any suggest any other option(USB CHARGER) which I can buy online in India or a converter which I can use with ASUS US wall charger. In India we use European style wall chargers.

5V 2A is what you need at least, or get a pin converter like this http://bit.ly/S8E53E which should be available easily.

What if I use a 2A Car Charger ?

Dear Friends,
I have a car charger @2A for my old Galaxy TAB and dont wanna waste money if it is usable for GNote... Can i use it for my note or can it harm to my usb port?
Thanks in advance...
Kind Regards,
For recommendations I think you should change the charger to 1A one. But using the 2A one still possible, quicker charging time, shorter batt life and hotter while charging!
Use at your risk!

Longer Power cord

Any suggestions on this? It seems my nexus is very picky about only using the stock cord. I couldn't even get it to charge with my galaxy S2 cord. Charge icon was on but didn't charge.
Thoughts?

I use a USB 3.0 Cable extender that I got for like $3 off eBay. Charge time is the same and the cord is 6ft longer
Search and you will find a great thread on cables and chargers and what works and doesn't and why.
I picked up a couple of these when they were on discount ($9.95 at the time). LONG 6ft cables and they work great for not only the Nexus 7 but other devices as well (Raspberry Pi)...

Even at the current price of $16.31 I would not hesitate to buy one.
Thanks guys, I will try that. I hate this little cord.

I used $random cable in the house, works fine. Just make sure you use the OEM charger, unless the cable is super crap it should just work.
Im using my old charger from my blackberry curve 8300 with a mini usb to micro usb adapter on it because it was the longest charger I have. It worked to charge my original evo 4g, it charges my evo lte, and it charges my nexus 7 as well.

I paid $3.94 total. Should have been smart and ordered two (other half wants one) but I wanted to be sure it works. It's great and plenty long enough.

I've got a couple of 2mtr cables with right angle micro usb plugs, cheap as chips off eBay and they work fine.

This phone is picky when it comes to charging....

In the car I have to use the usb port on my FM Transmitter which is like 70ma! So it's a trickle charger. I tried the ones with my car socket adapter nope as they are 500ma.... I also have a 2.1A adapter but yeah that of course won't work.
So do I need to fish out a 100ma for it to charge properly in the car? I think I have some usb car adapters somewhere from other gadgets I can try....
Picky phone.... Any tweaks to make it accept more juice?
Just curious....
I have no problem using my car charger, or USB port on my stereo, I have even used a 9v battery to charge my phone. Maybe you have a bad port

I had issues too with finding appropriate changers. I ended up buying one of those Duracell car chargers and it works.

Could it be the USB cable? I noticed with the duel port backup battery I have 2.1/1A it will only charge on the 1A port. I was hoping for quicker charging on the 2.1A port.

Yeah it's annoying.
I too am having big issues with using car chargers. I guess I never tried before. I tried with several chargers in several cars. No luck at all getting my T-mobile Samsung Exhibit 4G to charge. I want to start using it for navigation.
What is the duracell charger mentioned above. I saw a duracell charger at the drugstore but it was just a lighter plug adapter and looked just like any other. Do duracell cigarette lighter plug adapters work with the T-mobile Samsung Exhibit 4G better than other adapters?
Is this a known issue about T-mobile Samsung Exhibit 4phones not working with car adapters? I will search for other threads on the issue but haven’t seen it except for here.
I am running peach sunrise if that matters.
Thanks
Drew
The Duracell one gives the proper power out for this phone, as well as the Nexus 4, so I would imagine it works on all Android phones, making it a good investment. Some come will Android and iPhone plugs, too!

[Q] USB 2.0 battery charger?

Do any of you use the older style charger to charge your note 3's? I just thought id see if it works and it does work to charge the phone just fine but I was wondering if there's any side affects to using the older style charger.
yesterday mine charged fully in 2 hours with the phone charger (USB 3.0) and later drained to 2% then overnight using note 2 charger (USB2.0) after ~6 hrs it was 87%.
Both are 2 amps btw.
so there seems to be a difference.. maybe someone can answer why?
I am not rooted and looking at Battery monitor widget, it charges about 35% in an hour vs 12% on note 2 charger.
Mine seem to charge at the same rate with either charger. I'm not using the stock note 2 cable though, its a 10ft usb2.0 I bought off amazon and its supposed to charge the phone faster they claim
This should answer your questions about usb 2.0 vs 3.0 charging.

You need to use a micro USB 3 cable or you'll never see the two amps the stock charger can do. I've tried this with a random micro USB 3 cable and an Asus prime charger.

Usb 2.0 charger still works on gs5

Was on my way to the store to buy a charger no rep was available to assist me so I started playing with the s5 demo phone and noticed they were charging it with a USB 2.0 so basically they're lack of service saved me 25$. Thanks At&t
I noticed this the other night. I also noticed that the supplied 3.0 cord would not work with an old usb wall charger

yeh no doubt, I can't believe how fast this thing charges. My i777 was so slow to charge full, maybe 3-4 hours? S5 is like just over an hour or so to 100%, much faster then even our iPhones which were only a little quicker than i777. I thought i remember someone saying on older Androids Sammy and others like capped the current or something, at least on the i777 and other Sammy phones that's what people were saying, which is why it was so slow to charge even on a wall charger as it was capped too. Not sure of the truth there, but USB 3 and S5 is blazing fast charging for a 2800mh battery.

This is only on laptop's that have USB 3.0.
If you have a 2 amp charger it will charge it at 2 amps regardless of connector.
I am using my note 10.1 2014 2 amp charger, charges just fine and just as fast.
