Anyone? Aluminum Alloy Blade Metal Frame Bumper Case - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Anyone used this bumper?
The back cover is easily replaceable so I don't mind showing off the titanium texture on Note 2. A bumper fits this need. So anyone used this? It shows 20 sold, so hopefully at least someone is browsing xda.
Share your opinions :]
BTW, there's different codes of N7100 and the prices are different, e.g., BK, PK, TP, etc. What does that mean?
EDIT: UH.. nvm, seem to be color codes. BUT, same model, different prices ($20+ vs $10)????
EDIT: UH... nvm again, one is free shipping, one is $10 shipping.
EDIT: AND one is bid while the other is BIN. :double-facepalm:
WARNING: Based on further reading, this design is not acceptable. It scratches screen when installing/uninstalling, and possibly affects reception!!

I've also come across these
You can see that my main idea is to cover the sides, because I believe that it is still chrome like on the Note2 (mine hasn't arrived yet), and shows scratch more easily.
===========================================================================================================================================
Or do you guys think Galaxy Note™ II Protective Cover + from Samsung just looks better?

Only thing I'd be worried about is it interfering with the reception
-TeaM VeNuM Like A Boss

Ye, that's also my major concern. So I wanted to see if anyone tried it on xda. It comes from Hong Kong, so I really don't wanna waste time just to find it interferes with the reception :/

From this thread, looks like (hopefully) it won't interfere.

It wouldn't suppress the signal since The Note isn't like the iPhone 4/4S where the antenna is on the sides. Our Antenna is on the bottom portion of our phone so this case does not interfere with signal.

Im very interested if anyone has tried one of these? Im waiting on my note 2 to come today and already ordered a tpu case just to get thru the first few days as thats normally when i drop a new from slipping out of my hand. adjusting to the size difference.

a buddy of mine has one on his s3 and has no problems. I am going to pass this link to him because when he asked if they were available for the note 2 they said no.. but that was a few weeks ago.

Just fyi guys, i updated in my OP that these bumpers will possibly scratch the screen when sliding in/out as well as interfering with signal strengths as i read in the other thread.
Try to avoid it or try to bear the risk.
There are plastic/soft bumper emerging on eBay. Search for them.

I've had a black aluminium bumper on the titanium gray note 2 for a week, it looks badass especially with the notification led in red ahah. But it does add some bulk and removes the softness of the original design when you hold it ot shove it in your pocket, Guess that bugged me just because I used the note protection free for 2 weeks :/
No signal problem whatsoever.
Little video there, mine is the second one to prove another guy the case didn't intefere: http://www.galaxynote.fr/bumper-aluminium-t8200.html#p90815
I've ordered a second one from a different brand (with replacement buttons like in the original poster picture here instead of grip notches on the sides) in titanium gray color too I'll post a full good quality video of the case if I have some time.

Alternative Bumper
I like this one because looks like thinner on front, shows side buttons and it's nice to hold to don't falls.
Where in Chinese sites can I found?
www . youtube . com / watch?v=Gguqnpckf0c&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/url]

wooww..

I had the same one as in OP (aluminum frame) from eBay awhile ago, and it didn't fit the phone

Looks like a Triobump Clone.
The aluminum won't scratch the screen.

Rugged case for the XDA

Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has come across a protective case for the XDA. The sort of thing I want is rubber not leather............
any ideas
Thanks
I saw some in an outdoor shop and will probably get myself one as soon as I can find the time to go there again.
They were meant to be used for digital cameras or portable audio players I think. They were at least rainproof, (one even claimed to be submergible!) I think they would provide the shelter required for carrying the device around in everyday use. The only problem is that you'll have to get the XDA out of the case to actually use it.
Martin
Thanks
Hi Martin, thanks for the reply.
I have found a case similar to what you have described at www.ruggedpeak.com. they seam a little expensive bur probably cheaper than a new XDA !!
XDA Hard Case
O2 sell a hard case for the XDA - It's a metal case lined with foam, that clips over the XDA and makes it pretty much shock proof - I have one, and it's GREAT!

I think this page might help, there is a phone number there for you to cal, lifetime warranty as well I think.

Hi people Ive found a cheap and very strong case for our device.
See this link here http://www.outdoortrends.de/index.html?d_DE_39622_700_Deuter_Handytasche_Phone_Case_M6646.htm
Ive used the s model(antanna hanging out) for 1 year but its a tight fit thus heavy pulling of the zip every time to close it and it has survived a year of this treatment and still not a tear and only some paint came off the zipper.
They now have the M model which fits the Xda perfectly totally enclosing it. It offers no protection but the thing I like about this case is I can wear it horizontally on my belt with the screen facing inward and thats very comfortable.
If you see it in an outdoor store give it a try its cheap enought
Hey guys...i bought a similar case on ebay... Similar to This. The concept was great, it is lined with a nice padded feltish. materal but the closing latch did a huge number on my phone. Luckily (Ironicly) my screen $hit the bed, and T-Mo is replacing the phone for me.. My words of advice, find out what their return policy is on the merchandise and if you don't like it see if you could exchange it for something different. I didn't do that and I am stuck with my case
I would be willing to sell it for $25 (buyer pays shipping) to someone that deoesn't have paint on their XDA. I didn't like it because I like my stuff always looking new. anyone interested PM me.
is that the case which doesnt have button holes and covers the whole phone with the airel sticking out the hole at the top.
i had one of these on my 1st xda and ti made a horrible mark near my ariel and the catch scuffed up all the side and it kept popping open and all.
the PROPORTA one is a hell of a lot better that kept my 64mb XDA mint as and still looks mint today not a scrach on it just fingerprtints all over the screen and sides lol.
get the proporta one much better then that other metal case.
gaz
I totaly agree the Proporta case is a little gem they on eBay I expect thats where I picked mine up from

Verizon Logo Sticker cover

If anyone is interested in hiding the verizon logo on their note 2 Here is a vinyl sticker to cover the logo. It is made by me and I used a pantone bookelet to match as close as possible the titanium grey color. As soon as I get my note 2 in I will be making a video describing exactly how to apply the decal. We include about 5/6 decals per purchase even though the ad says 3.
Here is a picture of the finished grey decals

What about for the white note? I think it would also be neat to see some different flavors of colors, with different textures. I wouldn't mind a carbon fiber textured white button.

We are still getting the white made. If there was enough interest we could look into a carbon fiber button. The problem is we are just a small company and do not have every type of vinyl. Just a roll of carbon fiber vinyl would probably cost $90-100
you guys can get small samples of vinyl for $2 plus $2 shipping (4" x 8")...and you can probably make 50 home button stickers out of it.
i used the 3M 1080 series for my battery cover and it works well.
Anyone here care to post some feedback? We are shipping these as fast as we can. The post office apparently had some problems as some orders were delivered while some were still sorting at the usps near us. We shipped about 60 decals on the 30th. We would love to hear some feedback on our product.
Send me one! Ill write up a review

I picked up the white ones and got them Friday... After being applied it looks pretty much like stock.. Would show pictures but that seems stupid as there is nothing to show that you can't see on the web already (just look at an image of a non VZW Note 2 and you have your pic)..
My coworker / office mate has the At&t note 2 (white as well) so I had a good reference to compare it to. This sticker is ever so slightly more white than stock and has a slight bit on extra shine (neither of these would even show up in a pic).. Other than that they look exactly the same.. The feel initially was a little tacky but as the oils from my finger got into the vinyl and that went away and now feels normal as well.
Applying the sticker was at first tricky as I simply tried to remove one and then attempted to line it up with my fat @$$ thumb.. lol that didn't work so well, but on the next try I found a trick and was able to align it perfectly... Let me explain... The stickers come with transparent film over the top and the standard white sticker film on the bottom... The stickers actually stick to the transparent film better than the white and I believe this was on purpose (and most likely the cause of the initial tacky feel to it).. With this I was able to lift the stickers from the white film leaving them stuck to the transparent one like this then it was trivial to align the sticker to the button and simply press down on it to get it to stick. FYI Make sure the phone was is, as you don't was the screen coming on and distracting you.
Still waiting on mine, ordered Nov 29 and tracking has gone from shipped to delayed or something, then shipped with a delivery date of the 8th which I just saw today. Obviously it's past the 8th, so idk where they are.

I bought some for my Titanium grey from the eBay auction, and I was disappointed in the difference in color. The vinyl looks almost purple. It could be a bad batch mine came from.
Might try something different or go OEM verizon ftl
An update on those waiting for them to arrive still. We have had some problems with the post office not liking the way that we shipped them. a handful have been returned to us and we will reship them to you. Not very happy with usps currently...

Made For Xperia Case - Not fitting properly?

Guys,
I got myself an Xperia SP a couple of days back and as part of the promotional offer by Sony, I got a free "Made For Xperia" flipcover case with it. Its supposedly worth 1,899INR (says so on the box) but while the covers texture feels nice, the quality doesn't feel that good. Anyways- quality aside, the phone is a tight tight fit but that doesn't bother me as much as the cover not closing shut properly.
I have a Transformer Infinity and my mom has a Note 2 and both of our flip covers lie flat on the screen instead of awkwardly resting like this. So I wanted to ask- is this normal? Not just for the SP but do all Made For Xperia cases rest like this? Even if I push it down, it pops back up. The only way I can get it to rest slightly is by pulling the case outwards to the right side of the phone and even then it still pops up by a millimetre.

Agree completely with @satishynd. I am also using the same case... it rests perfectly flat after some use.
hey ....one question though..
does your covers/cases kind of auto-operate screen when kept in pocket??
countless times i've noticed apps opened, numbers dialed ..automatically when kept in pocket (mobile mounted on case/cover obtained from flipkart.com)

Thanks guys. I'll give this cover time to settle down. Hope it fits better after a while.

Just a heads up guys, I bought a aluminium frame bumper for my edge...it looks great but it totally screws up my gps. The phone really struggles to maintain a gps lock, and drops often. As soon as I take it off, the gps is fine again and it works fine with a plastic case.

be careful with this. put something similar on my iphone5 and it kinda caused rubbed marks on the aluminium on the phone when I removed it. when manufacturers make these kind of bumpers, they need to line the inside with rubber or plastic because it doesnt take a scientist to know metal on metal is not good...
edit: also looked online and apparently you can use metal wool to buff the marks out
Uhh since this post is on top again. I bought this thing and posted pics in the "post your case" thread.
Overall good case with slightly off manufacturer tolerances(based of the one I recieved). Some extra bits of paper here and there, and it fixed the problem for me.
To address the above issue. The back of the case is lined with a cloth material, and the sides are lined with foam. It wouldn't scratch your phone.
How about the GPS issues mentioned earlier?
GPS works fine.
My experience wit metallic bumper can´t be worse. I used it only once, with the HTC M9, and it scratched the corners while decreases the signal quality... A real mess that I would´t advise at all.

I bought it, pretty much same one. Cost $15 on eBay. Comes in a fancy metal tin, with extra screws and screw driver. The signal loss was barely noticeable if at all. Definitely excellent quality.

bad times…! I think the signal is distorted by the metal. even my DAB radio goes a bit weird when my laptop or S6E is too close to it
Interesting, I wonder why there are so many of these metal bumper threads and why so many people keep saying they're great and don't affect the signal. Separately, I would think that there could be a market for just simple rubber or plastic bumpers.

[REVIEW] Aluminium Bumper (The best Ginmic)

Well i have never been a fan of cases or so, i always normally used my phones naked, because i think im paying the design more than the inner stuff (nobody thinks of it hehehe), but this phone seems to be a bit more delicate than any other so i`ve been searching for cases or bumpers for this beauty and obviously keeping the design and elegance.
i own 3 cases and this, by far, the most that i liked. I´ll give you my opinion and a mini-review, also the link for anyone who is interested on buying it
First, as title says, its an aluminium bumper, but what a quality, its extremely well done and very esthetic.
This is how it comes in, from here you can tell the great quality product

It comes in two parts, and see the cutouts for the speaker grill, usb porting charge, and 3.5mm jack
and now, mounted on the phone, look the details
I picked up this color for a reason, as you can see my phone is the gold one so the bumper red, so i made a waaaaaay cheaper IRON MAN version
PROS:
-well done design made by high quality materials
-inner side has a protective layer to prevent of scratching the phone
-keeps the width phone and the thin edge line
-even i have no tested it yet, i think it will provide a bit of protection to the sides of the phone
CONS:
-to be very aesthetic, does not provide greater protection to the screen or the back, it comes flush
-maybe the headphone jack cut out won't fit all of you, it depends on each one (at least its not a problem to me)
In general, this is and excellent accessory for those how likes to brag the design and at the same time adding a bit of protection, buttons fells very straight, great assembly, nice painting, very sharp lines mimicking design`s phone this "effect" could be achieved even more picking up the same color as your phone, but the red one makes mine the Iron man hehe, but this is not for those how wants to extremely protect your phone
here the link, the price is nice, 10 bucks, free shipping and arrived in about 3 weeks

It is for me, although the sides seems sharp, they are not so, grip is a bit better due to a wider sides, maybe if you hold the phone by placing your pinky finger at the bottom you could feel discomfort only if it's on the headphone jack cutout

Thanks for that, id have to get a protector for the back, obviously for protection and also to make the back a bit less slippy. Thanks.
I can confirm its a great case !

I had similar experience. Even worse than the scratches, GPS signal is degraded, still functional...but takes longer to get a lock.
