Can't make a nandroid - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi together.
I'm on 1/2 illusion rom and on latest cwm and cm10 kernel. Everytime I want to make a nandroid, cwm works like it should, but in the end the backup folder has only 17mb.
What's wrong here?
Sent from Telegraph

are you taking about the entire folder with the name as date when you made the backup?
if yes the try with a different kernel. may be hydracore v6 beta

Yes the entire folder. I already have changed from original illusion kernel to cm10 nightly, but still no luck. I also tried hydracore kernel, but phone didn't boot anymore.

Your backups are set to DUP format. You need to change the settings in cwm to backup to TAR format
Basically with DUP you get a small backup and a huge blobs folder with many files... tar will give you a few large files...
Once you set this it will save your preference.

In cwm there is a settings I believe in backup and restore section that says choose format or something along those lines

[SOLVED] Nandroid Backup MD5 not found

Before I flash a custom rom, I nandroid backup my Gingerbread rom first. But now, when I tried restoring it, it says that MD5 checksum not found. Any idea why that happens? Will I be able to restore it again? By the way, it has no games or apps that I downloaded in it, I just upgraded to GB and backup and flashed a custom rom.

What do you mean about the backup folder? The backup folder in my sdcard or the nandroid backup I have in my cwm folder?

So, does that mean that even if I back up my stock rom, it won't work and it only works on custom rom? Then if I'm on stock, I won't be able to restore my custom rom because cwm doesn't work on stock rom?

Sorry for another noob question, but I hope this is my last one
So, recovering custom on custom works too? I guess I just have to flash stock rom if I needed to.
Also, why can I open cwm on stock but they said it doesn't work on it. Do they mean, nandroid backup doesn't work on stock even if you do?
I feel so stupid right now for these questions (._.)

No man, you even don't have to go in recovery  Just download one of the kernel and put boot.img in your phone or externel SD card and open UKF (kernel flasher) and select boot.img (you need file manager like es file or root explorer) and flash it, after that you need to reboot.

1) Download cocore 8.6 kernel (look in original Android development).
2) extract the kernel.bin file
3) place kernel.bin file somewhere in your phone
4) open ukf and insert the boot.img (YOU NEED ES FILE MANAGER OR ROOT EXPLORER TO ADD THE FILE)
5) You now have now inserted kernel.bin file so now press flash kernel image.
6) He will say reboot phone, so reboot your phone.

No, everything is ok. Just there is no boot.img in that zip. But there is kernel.bin.md5 - use it in step 4 of explanation. :good:
Both kernels are the same, just one recovery is with touch interface, and on the other one you need to use hardware buttons.
