stock rooted ROM
windows PC with adb drivers installed
[ how to install ]
download the provided zip package
save it on c:\
extract the contents of the package
connect phone with usb debugging active to PC via ADB
execute "runme.bat"
follow onscreen instructions & enjoy!
incase some issue is there post the output/log of script
[ additional info ]
i have added the following things in the package:
corrected /system/bin/sysint file
run-parts binary in /system/xbin/run-parts (which is basically busybox 1.19.3 binary)
correct /system/etc/install-recovery.sh file (this file gets executed by default on stock kernel too!)
test/example script /system/etc/init.d/99test
to check if this is working the test script (99test) will create a temporary file /data/local/tmp/init.d_log_test.txt on each boot

When it is done reboot, and then you can verify if it worked by checking if there is a init.d_log_test.txt in /data/local/tmp

Only for ICS. JB is not able to root without unlocked bootloader. Despite this mod doesn't work on rooted JB. Try another ROM with init.d enabled or AIO boot mod.

Why is it only for Linux & Mac? if you need windows binaries of fastboot and adb I can give them to you...
1. Windows users have HTC's Official ruus which are better.
2. I don't know half of the commands I need to make it work.
But I will do an hboot flash version when I have the download script running. Does anyone know the windows equivalent of 'wget'?

Unfortunately I'm a newbie to all this. I just rooted my desire and want to revoke it now in order to get the OTA-froyo update.
So I downloaded OpenRUU and the RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1211104_Radio.exe.
Can anybody please explain to me how to get an zip-file out of the exe and afterwards how to tell openruu to use this file for updating?

If you mean adb & fastboot, they are part of the Android SDK which is open source.

Hi all. I just want to share how to change your splash screen, if ever you want a customized one. I created my own, for FENECK-Rom_GNT_DEV. So without further ado, here's the tutorial:

NOTE: Tested perfectly on STOCK-Rom without any problems.
Pre-requisites:*
- Rooted device
- Terminal Emulator

If all goes well, you can see a param folder in your main sdcard (mine is in internal memory), which has all the bootloader's images. Just copy the logo.jpg to your PC.
☆7.)Now you can edit the logo.jpg to your liking - note that the background should remain black, and the size should not be more than +-400KB.
☆8.)Once done editing, copy your customized logo.jpg on main sd card
☆9.)Then, we have to paste it inside /sdcard/param folder, and re tar param.bin:
cp -f /sdcard/logo.jpg /sdcard/param/logo.jpg
cd sdcard/param
tar cf - `ls | sort -t.` > /sdcard/param.bin

If running stock rom you need to disable RIC by repacking kernel with a script

Otherwise you won't get rw to system partition.
Since chainfire supersu is completely handed over to that chinese business I recommend to migrate to magisk instead.

Say N to everything but RIC or the phone will not boot.

I do want to add that I do now have my doubts about magisk because I have had some issues with magisk on lollipop and I instead went with supersu.
But I you got magisk working then you don't need to do worry about this
