[Q] I'm looking for a case.. - Nexus 7 Accessories

Hello fellow Nexus 7 users!
I have recently been searching around the internet for a case for my Nexus 7 with a few specifications, I have failed to find the case I am looking for and now I have turned to your help!
I would like a clamshell case which wraps around the back of my Nexus 7 without it coming round the front and on the side which faces the screen I would it to be as slim as possible with a smallish pocket to fit a mini hard drive.
Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated!

Doesn't exist, not specifically for the N7. Maybe you should think about adapting something like the Poetic Element case which has dropped significantly in price since its release. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Poetic-ELEM...CPXW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1352058374&sr=8-4

Is smart cover for galaxy tab2 will fit nexus 7 coz thats the only one available in qatar right now...
Update: tried it in shop and won't fit----silly me

Couldn't be more happy with it, comfortable and slim. Nice to hold, nice texture and feel.
One problem, the stand is ABSOLUTELY USELESS
But for a 7 inch device, its comfier to hold in one hand anyway.

I use the Poetic Smart Case with the front flap. I'm also getting my Portenzo Hardbook cover case in the mail today. Having been around, these 2 look like the thinnest case that covers the whole unit.
If you just want the back, perhaps look into just a TPU case like a Cruzer. The Blurex smart "leather" cases were nice to own too.

Inexpensive getting started accessories for Nexus 7 (TPU case, screen protector, etc)

today i went out to buy another nexus 7 for my wife, after buying a bunch of accessories for my first one, i realized that many of these generic stuff are pretty much the same, I got in on a couple leather folio cover type cases for 5 bucks shipped when it was posted here, but my wife thinks that the flap is annoying and wants to get a simple tpu as well as a screen protector for hers (the 5 dollar folio one i cannot use the NFC google wallet unless i pop the tablet out from case)
personally I hated the xtreme something wet application screen protectors, it grips too much and makes swiping difficult, I tore mine off the screen in less than a day (i laid it on perfect, no bubble btw) but it was just annoying, so back to the regular dry application screen protectors
as for the TPU cases, to me the simpler the better, I don't care much about their so called designs as they look all look ghetto to me, I much rather to have a plain case with no design on it, having a X or S does not make my tablet any faster or better looking.
for 1 I don't like the x design on the other TPU case and don't feel like paying a few extra dollar for the S design case, so I ordered this one, nice grip i'd imagine, will see when it arrives
http://www.amazon.com/Exact-Design-...=1344802737&sr=8-18&keywords=nexus+tablet+tpu
then since i like to poke my tablet with a stylus, i'd figured that it would be a good idea to slap on some screen protector, I never had the matte anti glare one, so this one looks good as i can have both and in case i don't like the matte one i just tear it off and put on the regular clear one.
http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Duro...sr=1-5&keywords=nexus+tablet+screen+protector
as for the stylus part, we have a amazonbasic one, and some generic cheap ones, to be honest save your money as they both feel pretty much the same and if you are like me who loses pen easily, get the cheap one, i also have the motorola xyboard one that i keep at the office, it looks good and thats about it.
and if you are not in a rush, after rooting the tablet, order a couple of these OTG cables as it takes a while to get here from China

Interested to hear on how your purchase worked for you.
Oops...just read your post in my summary thread. I'm considering getting the screen protector you recommended as I need to buy for two tablets and the others are way too pricey.

The sgp stenheil crystal clear screen protectors are fabulous! Very easy to put on, its a dry install. It feels like the glass on the screen.

I'd like to know how you feel about the tpu case when it arrives.
sorry about the late reply didnt notice your post
its just like any other tpu case hard with a little bit of flex if you try to twist it
worth the 6 bucks i paid

sleeve/ soft cases

I don't want a case that covers the bezel or the back, just something to protect my n10 when it is slung in my backpack or messenger bag.
Does anyone know if these will fit the n10?
Samsung Textile Pouch
Kensington Soft Carrying Case
Proporta Perfora which is listed as a Nexus 10 case but seems to be a netbook case so will likely be too thick.
I am thinking about a sleeve myself.
To protect the nexus 10 while not in use or carrying it, but not to add bulk to the tablet while in use.
I am thinking about picking up a case logic sleeve.

Will this fit?

I'd like to know too. You can get it through Amazon cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-LA...id=1353866151&sr=1-1&keywords=LAPST-110-BLACK and their return procedure is pretty painless.
I'd try it myself but my N10 hasn't arrived yet and I want to try the Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories I already have before buying more "stuff".
Let us know.
I picked up this HP case (based on a recommendation in another thread):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Mini+Laptop+Sleeve/9926416.p?id=1218196187925&skuId=9926416
I picked it up off of Amazon for $10, but the picture over on Amazon is not correct (this picture on BestBuy is correct). It has padding on both sides of the device in the main pocket plus a second zippered pocket for cable, headphones, charger etc. It is the right size and the N10 fits in the case right; but, I am sure there are smaller cases if you don't need the large second pocket across the whole case. I picked this case up to have it available now as I am watching other cases being released. I also have three more different cases on order for different situations. My favorite so far is the Poetic Slimline case, but it is not available until the end of December. Good luck.
This Samsung-made pouch fits damn-near perfect:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055193HU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It fits pretty tight at first, but loosens up over about 10 insertions and removals. It doesn't cover 100% of the tablet though, there's still about ~3mm of the tablet exposed at the open end. To me it's negligible, since it's used to place the tablet into my backpack.
And it's less than 11 bucks.
I didn't want some big hard cover, just a sleeve, but also didn't want to spend any money on it so just made my own last night using half of a full-desk neoprene gaming mousemat and a needle exactly what i was after for simply carrying it around and such. It's not perfect but it was free and does it's job ut great

I love these kind of comments
FYI, I bought this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V7-Protective-Sleeve-iPads-Tablets/dp/B0085JT0BS/
Its quite thick (~30mm) with the Nexus 10 inside, but I felt the bubbles inside should really help protect the screen when its in my laptop bag.
The zip closes no problem, but it wouldn't take a tablet even a few mm taller(in portrait), width-wise(also in portrait) there is a good 20mm space. The padding is quite thin on the zip and edges, protected, but not as well as the main faces. I feel it is a good buy.

I picked up the Hp as well for $20 at Bestbuy works well and will get the job done until new cases are released
I like the looks of this one, because while I think I'll be using the thing naked most of the time, I know I need a sleeve, plus this one can prop the unit up if I want to watch a movie on an airplane or something.

ASUS Versasleeve
Using an ASUS Versasleeve (sold TF700) and it works great. Fit is perfect and case doubles as a stand with two positions (typing and viewing). I prefer using my tablets naked and have been through 5+ cases before deciding on the Versasleeve.
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VersaSle...d=1354034427&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+versasleeve
I tried this case from LLC but the N10 was too wide to fit in. I'm hoping for something like this to come out for the N10. The magnetic top closes it nicely and keeps it folded when you use it as a folio style stand. It's also paper thin. If anyone has a line on something like this for the N10 please post:

If anyone lives in the UK, I just bought a laptop neoprene case from pound land for £1 while I wait for my Poetic Slimline case to arrive from amazon. It may not be a perfect fit, but it definitely gets the job done.

Can't go too wrong for $10.62 delivered. Goo designs a beautiful product and then tells the user to either risk carrying it around naked or put it into a case that will defeat their design efforts? I believe the cover they promoted, if it had been available, would have have helped them to sell more tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried it with mine and I almost didn't get it out and then sold it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I loved the pouch because it was very slim, minimalistic and the tablet was slightly protected when it was just laying around on the couch or when I put it in my laptop bag.
Unfortunately it's 22€ on Amazon.de (around $25) but I think it's still worth it since I hate it when a case is completely attached to the tablet.

Will post review when I get it
P.S. UPS shows tracking that my Nexus 10 will be here today...Woohoo
Got a few pictures of the Galaxy Tab Case and the Asus Versasleeve.
The galaxy case is housing the N10 pretty well at this point, with almost 0 protrusion of the tablet.
Overall, I think I will be using the Versasleeve. I remember people complaining about the plastic smell on the Nexus 7 poetic cases, but holy hell this Asus case is much worse in the magnitude of smell.
Other than the ugly brown, I think it'll work well.

Any feedback on the Yoobao executive leather case?

Hi guys,
Just got my note 2 and it is a slippery bugger. Although I went through two years with my evo 4G with a case with no ill effect, the note 2 is just that much larger and the case is slick. Have already almost dropped it a couple of times. Was wondering if anybody here has an opinion on this Yoobao leather slip case. i ccan't find any review on it. It's a little different from the regular cases I've seen mentioned.
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=321068917281&index=6&nav=SEARCH&nid=69099617025
Any and all help will be much appreciated.
Regards,
asmd.
Using it right now. Got the black one. Feels like real leather. Even has a note on how to take care of the leather. Folds open good to thumb type fine and the opening for the s-pen is very good.
Has a good executive look to it.

thanks.. any notes/opinion on durability if dropped?
Haven't dropped the Note, lol. But it's more of a leather glove.
Edges with the stitching look like the would protect some but the back doesn't. Flip cover is padded a bit too.

Does any of you with the Yoobao have problem with the USB port cut-out being not big enough. Mine interferes with the microusb cable and prevent the cable from going all the way in.
I just bought this case in brown since i love the looks. I like it overall, complaints are that it covers up half the notification LED, and the microusb cut out is small. But other than that i love it, i actually returned the SGP valentinus before i love this one better, the leather feels soft (valentinus was hard).

Bob J Rugged Case + Pelican Case = Great Combination!

If you're like me, I wanted a great rubber case plus something to store the tablet in that would be tough enough to throw around in a backpack or get wet and still keep my Nexus alive. Came up with this combo and it works great!
Bob J Gear Rugged Silicone Case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AJBWJA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
+
Pelican Products 1055CC HardBack Case with Computer Liner
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006FR1KHE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You have to take the liners out of the Pelican case to make room (they are just taped in), but in the end the tablet with the silicone case fits nicely in the Pelican, taking up minimal room and is literally bomb proof. The Bob J Gear case is by far the best silicone case I've seen. Not a cheap piece of crap. Very thick, PERFECT fit, etc. And Pelican products, if you're not familiar with them, are some of the best of their kind that money can buy.
Anyways, just wanted to post this up real quick for those that might have been looking for the same thing I was.
Let me know if you guys want me to post pics. :good:
Very nice, but you do know that BobjGear also makes tablet bags :

His silicone case on my Nexus 7 plus this is a great combination.....
Yeah I saw his bag. Looks very nice, but I wanted a more compact and hard case that was waterproof that I can just toss in my backpack or luggage.
Can you take some pictures of your setup???

That would be nice, I quite fancy the pelican case for extra protection at certain times but I'm trying to work out if my Speck Fitfolio would fit in the pelican.

Just a heads up; BobjGear posted a YouTube video....
It's a drop test, admittedly not using a Nexus 7 (it's an ASUS TF300-bigger and heavier), but those of us owning his cases won't be too surprised at the results...
i really like that pelican, does it fit the nexus 7 with no case and the liners still in?

Nexus 7 leather snap on case

I've had my nexus 7 for around 3-4 months, never really used it much but now I'm getting hooked to it. Ive got a standard folio type case for it but dont really like it as the flap constantly gets in the way.
Has anyone seen a snap on type of case that is leather. An example of what I mean is something like whats attached but for nexus 7 of course. I cant seem to find one but maybe on of you guys could help me? Thanks
All my phones and tablet/phablet have these leather case :

Noreve is indeed the best. I have Noreve cases for all my devices and would never look back.
Yes but I didn't want a case with a flap as I've already got one, I just wanted a case that would snap on the back but was leather
To be honest....the back of the n7 already has that leathery/rubbery premium feel about it. That's why I haven't seen one around yet cuz it's kinda pointless to protect the back of the n7.
I reckon ebay/amazon but i'm sure you would've checked there anyways
I got a plastic back only snap on case for my HTC Evo View 4G and when I moved to the Nexus 7 I got one for it. I agree with the OP and like the extra protection without the bother and bulk of a more traditional case. I.I too would prefer leather or even naugahide but unfortunately I could only find textured plastic ones. They aren't shiny nor plastic-y with the sand like finish. Bought on eBay. If you want but can't find it I can try to get a valid url.

I still these things at a pretty high volume, for retail, but I can't get a single custom case for it. I carry it in a small, but oversized, Case Mate, Netbook case. Of course, Amazon has a ton of cheap cases- but, cases are one of those items I try before I buy.
