Hi there everyone so i am trying to find telstra firmware for my galaxy note as for the charging port is playing up i did a clockwork mod back-up but for some reason it won't restore gives me some error but yet it works fine with any other zip/firmware i have tried different charger/different cable with no success if you slightly move it around it will charge if you get it in the right place so i need to send it back if i can find the telstra firmware i would really appreciate any support offered thanks for your time.

Unfortunately no Telstra firmware but stock Australian firmware is here. Would be good if you were with Optus (even though they suck) as there is Optus firmware. This stock Australian firmware is probably the closest you will get.

thats the telstra frimware for n7000

I had the exact same problem with my port on my phone in regards to charging and I was going to send it back to optus but I decided to try and fix it myself. What I did was stick in the cord and force it up (as my port had moved down) until it was in place and now it charges better than ever. I don't exactly recommend it but it was a quick fix for me and saved 2 months of no phone, maybe it will work for you.

I found that my daughter has been sucking on the USB cable which corrodes the plug...
Make sure you try a different/brand new USB cable... it might just be that.

Anyone with a AT&T 8.9 LTE, I could use a hand..

Apologies if this is the wrong area to ask for this but not sure where else to post, kind of a niche product.
Anyway In a failed effort to root my AT&T galaxy tab 8.9 4g LTE I'm now at a point where I can only get to download mode. Recovery and normal boot just give me a black screen. If anyone else picked one up and can get a odin flashable recovery I would owe you huge!
I know its kind of a niche product and I probably wont have much look finding anyone but its worth a shot right
Since you're still in the remorse period I'd just play dumb and exchange it at an AT&T store.

That is my backup plan. I would like to fix this one if possible, it appears to be perfect and having had quality issues in the past would just rather not play the lotto. If I could find out how to to make a odin flashable image myself maybe I could just take my laptop into the att store and use the demo unit.... hrrmmm.. off to google.
I just picked up an 8.9 LTE the other day. I will try and get an Odin dump for you if i can figure this beast out.

there is no image at the moment. sorry man.
I have tried several ways of getting a copy off of it but I have failed for now. I am going to load up a Linux distro on one of my laptops and do a bit of learning. If I can get anywhere with it if will post back here and let you know.
Currently Skyrocketing into Android Space!

You can also try this. This is labeled as the I957. Please note this is untested and I don't know what will happen.

This is confirmed as working to restore your tablet to factory using Odin 1.85 by Croak from the Request thread so download the factory ROM and use Odin to restore your tab to perfect working order.
Last night Da_G was able to root my 8.9 LTE so I think we can get you back in business if you still need the help?

[Q] Does anyone have the AT&T startup sound file?

I need the AT&T startup sound file for this phone. If anyone has it, I would really appreciate it if you could upload it somewhere for me or email it to me as an attachment. Thanks in advance!

I don't have it but am curious...why do you "need" it (or even want it)?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I know it sounds counterintuitive, since most people are usually trying to de-brand carrier phones. But I'm actually trying to "brand" a non-carrier phone. I've got all the AT&T bloatware I need, and I've got the AT&T boot animation. Now I just need the startup sound to go with the boot animation. Once I've got that, I'll be able to build my stock AT&T branded ROM for the International Galaxy Note. Right now, all the ROMs for the international note are for the UK, Germany, Russia, etc.
What I'm trying to do is build a ROM that's comparable to what comes on the new AT&T Galaxy Note... for users who, for whatever reason, want a more domestic and carrier-branded experience than the stock international Note offers. I seem to remember that the Captivate has the AT&T sound for it's startup sound, so I thought I'd ask around here to get it.

Here ya go...from Stock i897ucKK4...
I put the 2 files in a zip to upload. U may just need the .wav file but I included the 2 that r in the stock kk4.

Does rom region matter?

My Optimus Black cames with v20j (Canada) and I understand that there's differences between regions like apps. But other than that, is there any real difference? I've used Spain's, Germany's, Europe's and the Philippines' roms and they all run the same.

From my own experience with canadian carrier "telus or koodo".
Some of the roms seem to not get a good connection to the network,
I went as far a sending my phone for repair, rerooted my device and reflashed but kept getting cant connect to network at this time. I do beleive some one else on telus had the same issue. Can' t recal his name
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app
Huh, I'm on Koodo and I've had no trouble with signal on any rom. I did find that some roms don't say I'm on Koodo, but Telus. But, Koodo is part of Telus so it makes sense.

Telus
I'm with Telus and since I changed my original rom from a custom one I can't get phone signal outside of town.
It's because we have the lg p970g not lg p970. We have different phone signal for our roms this is why our phone are having signal issues.
I didn't find a way to correct this problem. But is there a flashable zip for a canadian rom becaus my usb port is broken and i can only charge my cellphone and change my rom with a flashable zip file.
hope we'll find a solution someday :S
Yes for xample you cant find persian language in v20n or j but v20b have persian

2G only on a new GT-i8190

My dad purchased a new Galaxy S III mini online. It arrived with a European charger and in a foreign language. Which one I don't know. Anyway, he managed to get it switched over to English but apparently it will only connect to 2G. I had him check under networks and he says GSM is the only option.
It's this a firmware issue I could correct?
Getting info from him has been like pulling eye teeth and he is well over 1500 miles away and only slightly less in years.
Thanks in advance.

From what country was the seller?
Cause samsung made some country specific changes.

Why not flash a rom from your country?
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
Looks like my dad has lost interest, at least four the time being, in fixing this issue so, unless he ships the phone to me whereby I can flash rom's, etc., I'll consider the issue closed.
If there is any change, I'll post the results.

[Q] After rooting and custom Rom can't connect to xda forums

Hey guys I picked up a bell mobility HTC One in Ontario Canada the other day. I rooted it and I stalled CWM and installed 2 different roms now one was CM the other was coin's. For some reason when I pull up the xda app or try to bring it up in the browser it never connects. I can loaf the home page but not the forums and the app goes nowhere. It worked fine on stock. I have the standard version of both roms installed. However this only occurs when I'm connected to the mobile network it works fine over WiFi. Any ideas?

Here I'll get the thread going.
Could this have anything to do with firmware?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Installing latest firmware only takes 5 mins, so it's probs ideal to give it a try. I was having issues with call quality but firmware fixed it!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I never experienced this, but if you tried 2 different roms, Firmware is your best bet for solving the issue. I am on bell too, so I am not sure why it happened to u and not me.
