[DEV]CM10 TweakPack - LG Optimus 2x

Hi.
This package adds Touch Boost and a multi-processor optimized zram to your CM10 Nightly. Maybe incompatible with older Nightlies or newer. (Currently running my own build - Should be identical with the Nightly from 09.11).
I flagged this stuff as DEV because it may leads to incompatible behaviour and maybe increase battery drain.
Please report (if it helps etc)
Download

cool, gonna try it

Thank u sir ! Does it helps with ril problems ?

Hi Benee ,
This is a good start for CM10 modifications.
I am currently trying to get iwconfig to work with Wifi TX power app.
Have you plans on compiling additional governors such as smartassv2 or lagfree for the O2X? Would be great as we now have the possibility to use governors...

Nope. I'm not a fan of these voodoo magic governors. Most are ****ty, and bloated und just increase CPU overhead. Better save some cycles and use a simple one like ondemand.
I would suggest that you use interactive or ondemand. Both have Touch Boost support. Which really helps imho.

first of all thanks for sharing.
i'm using this with 26% of zRAM and interactive as cpu governor.
i don't see any particular difference for now, i will report better tomorrow after some daily use
can you add different i/o scheduler to this pack? like simple i/o, bfq, cfq, just to see if we can increase i/o speed.
EDIT: WiFi not working anymore It can't be enabled on 08/11 build.

After flashing the tweak pack my WiFi wont come on again.
I saw you put a wireless.ko inside the zip. Maybe something is wrong with it?
PS: I miss the conservative governor from stock CM10 already
Edit: I am also on nightly 1107

Same but i'm on the 1108 build how to uninstall this tweak pack?

can someone please make a tweak pack which can un-restrict the RIL installation? in such case we can test nightlies with various bb and ril combinations and find our own solutions for many many reports of voice call issues.
How can we use getril working or manually place ril file in appropriate place?

Rom is really faster but wifi doesn't work, With 1103

I think the kernel modules are in the wrong folder.
It should be /system/lib/modules instead of/system/modules shouldn't it?

I have modified the update ZIP with the correct path. You can flash it to get wifi working again.
However remove the modules from /system/modules

To zram - DON'T touch the cm option. A script is included. To i/o scheduler. BFQ/CFQ are to complex imo. Noop is too simple. Deadline is the perfect mix (It's tweaked for flash storages). It's pretty cheap (cpu cycle) etc. So nope - not gona happen. However I think some other dev will start adding those stuff soon.

Could you please read the op? I'm doing this on a custom build: It's equivalent to the CM build tomorrow. So problems will occur This is why it's flagged as DEV. Currently there are big changes on daily basis. Not gona update this often, but on my Github you can find the source and add it to your own builds.

Did you do anything with the sysctl.conf and init.d?
Sorry for the delays... yes, as stated above, the zip files will not flash to the D3 (even though they do flash to the Moto Atrix??).
But you can definitely rip out files push them with Root Explorer or ADB commands. I haven't had time to mess with that but I may jump on it later today. Glad someone else tried and showed positive signs. That is encouraging.
I applied manually.
Don't notice any difference, really. But it may respond better to my finger. I'll have to run it for a few days.

I snatched the files from the latest SteelDroid to enable init.d. However I also used the scripts from that rom as well as they include alot the same tweaks.
I discovered that the sysctl.conf tweaks have no affect. We dont seem to have access to those adjustments. Perhaps because of our stock kernel?
for you, if you have a stock kernel to enable init.d .....

Gotcha. Ok did you set permissions on the ko files and put the init script in init.d folder and reboot? There is also the possibility that there has been a kernel change to .232 Which I'm using in the area of the cpu driver. Just make sure you did the steps above and go from there.
48656C70206D6521
You also try to manually insmod the modules using terminal.
Obviously don't use the quotations.
Type "su" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/symsearch.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_interactiveX.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_hotplugX.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_smartass2.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_pegasusq.ko" enter
"insmod /system/lib/modules/sio-iosched.ko" enter
48656C70206D6521
After a ton of noodling, I got it to work. I switched from .230 to .232 and it still did not work. So I tried 2 more things: 1) I used script manager to run at boot and use superuser, then 2) changed permission of the 90modules file to r-x-r-x-r-x, and rebooted. Fully working now.

I can get to 384mhz, but I have noticed the minimun settings don't stick very well, but the maximum settings stick like glue. I've also noticed this on my S3. I'm not sure whats going on to be honest. I'll see if I can dig into it in the next few days. For now, though, I've noticed that you have to kinda play around with the minimum settings until it sticks, but it will stick eventually.

To switch to smartassV2 with sio, you can install this zip from recovery: View attachment 1872551 (if you want to experiment with other governors and schedulers, you can edit the init.d script inside the zip). The above solution is good if you want to set a permanent setting, or if you do not mind rebooting your phone whenever you change cpu governor and io scheduler. If you want to experiment without rebooting though, I highly recommend the free Voltage Control app; once you do not need it anymore, freeze or uninstall it, and use the init.d script instead.

[SHARE]Franco kernel #171+ faux sound control+faux gamma control (My personal build)

Hi.
I didn't find where to share it so people can try it and give feedback or whatever...so I created this thread. I compiled franco kernel with the updated code for the wifi driver (same thing that was done here).
It also modifies libs and config files so do a nandroid backup in case you don't want to use it anymore (use any other kernel...including the original franco kernel) ... or you can use (you have to use[/B]) this to revert to stock driver and pure franco #134 kernel.
Anyway... flashable zip in attached files
Source is here
I just wanted to help so be cool.
And credit to the people that deserved it.... you know who..
Well since the wifi problem is fixed (I think)... I'm just sharing my personal build of franco kernel...it's franco kernel+faux sound+faux gamma control.
Enjoy

Since it changes libs and other stuff you can't just simply flash a new kernel. Have to restore from a backup.
Edit: Forgot to report my results. My internet is 30/5 and with this new kernel I actually get 30/6.5 which is obviously a faster upload than my computer speed tests.

The kernel changes I made and the wifi libs and config in rom side need to go together... so if you flash a new kernel only the files in rom side stay.... and your wifi will mess up... so use the revert zip to change kernel but you will lose the fix
