Hey peeps!
Next week I'll get the Nexus 4 and wanted to know how to theme the homescreen. Read about Launcher Pro etc.
I've used a iOS for a while..theming with Winterboard is very easy!
Just want to theme the Homescreen first. Is there a Root Access needed?

Im currently using the MIUI Launcher. How do I switch it to Launcher Pro.
It gave me the option at the begining but I did not chose it.
Help pls...

Go to Settings - Programs - Manage Applications - Launcher. You should have the option to then Clear Defaults. Once you press the home button it will give you the option of which launcher to choose/automatically go to.

MIUI is a great rom expecially for its new innovative launcher.
Why you should use MIUI with (traditional) LauncherPro?
Cant you use Cyanogen + LauncherPro instead?
MIUI is a great rom, but Cyanogen by sure is more experienced.
I had your same idea but I actually stay with Cyanogen because imho it is nonsense changing MIUI's launcher.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there.
If I wanted an iphone homescreen where I have endless screens of icons, I would get an iphone. I don't get why android people would like the miui for the homescreens.
BUT, the menus are awsome. I love having the lp homescreens and customization with miui's menu interface, its perfect. Just wish there were a way to get away from the japanese text on some of the menus on the muiu themes.

I must agree with this.
I just started using MIUI, and it's really great... except for the launcher. It is the most terrible thing that I have ever seen. Not at all user friendly to people who have just started using the rom. I also switched to Launcher Pro, found this thread by searching how to change launchers.

*Chinese not Japanese. And try the http://miui.us/ version of MIUI, as it has been translated to English. I use it and I'm loving it!

You can "theme" your homecreen by trying free apps like LauncherPro or ADW.launcher. You can find free themes for both of these launchers in the market! Using either one of these apps, you can achieve a pretty unique look.
I know it's android and I shouldn't want to do this, but I want a real looking iPhone theme/rom.

I want it to look exactly like an iPhone 4 would, so no 5 icon dock with 4 icons and an app drawer icon. I want 3 icons and an app drawer icon.

look into launcher apps first, no rooting needed for that.
"roms" or "themes" that need rooting.... you wont find one that looks like iphone

Yeah I have been researching for a few weeks. I came across MIUI, and the ADW Themes, but they all look kind of.....off. I probably won't find anything closer than these b/c of copyrights, but I have hope
well ADW themes doesnt require root.
there are dozens of launcher apps, there are some that are really close to start. then you can go find icons and docks that look really close then put them all together. and BAM.
part of the customizing has to be done yourself. but the apps make it easy. by letting you customize.
MIUI is probably your best bet.
But can I just ask why you bought an android phone if what you wanted was an iphone?

I don't like iOS, just the look of it. I also wanted to try a bunch of roms to see what I prefer.

I'm trying to replicate touchwiz 4 on my android powered HD2;
i dont use touchwiz 4.5 by Fr4gg0t cause it too unstable for daily use,so what i'm trying to accomplish is a closed imitation of that UI.
Atm i have 2 ways of doing it
1-Using launcher pro plus with it's widgets themed with launcher pro corporate theme (1&2),beautiful widget pro.
cons: there is no way to make the drawer scroll orizzontally
2-using ADW EX,android pro widgets (in simple b&w theme) again beautiful widget and minimal reader pro with sqaured widgets.
cons:it just look not properly..right!
so right to the question:do you guys know any other squared widget that can be "touhwiz 4-like"?is there any way to get a properly spaced) 4 icons dock on adw-ex or lpp?

I don't really understand what you actually want. Give me more details and maybe I can help.
As of 4 icons dock, I believe MIUI ROM and Sony Ericsson Home use 4 icons dock (search the forums).
