Get the LG Tone+ HBS-730, search on amazon (I can't post links yet.). I have the first generation of the LG Tone HBS-700 the sound quality is alright if you aren't an audiophile. I've read that the sound quality is better in the 730s. The style of these make them perfect to wear under a collared shirt. I use them everyday and get about 3-5 days worth of listening between charges. The headset even vibrates when you get a call.

I have the Sony MW600. LINK. I love them. The majority of the time I only want to keep one ear bud in, and with these I can do that. You can also use any kind of headphones with them.

I had the Plantronics BB903+'s. I thought their sound quality was really good, and I was all excited to use them with my phone when I go mountain biking. I got so insanely frustrated with the sound cutting out every now and then that I stopped using them. A day later, my dog ate them. Eh, whatever. :good:
As I read around through reviews of other comparable bluetooth headsets I can't help but to question that perhaps audio skipping is somewhat common. As a result, I've personally chosen to stick to traditional headphones. That being said, I'm super curious if anybody has experience with bluetooth headphones that DON'T cut out at all. Eh?

i love my jaybird freedoms. the only thing that is even remotely annoying about them is they charge with a mini usb, other than that, they're light, have great sound and super comfortable. before that i tried a pair of moto ones that were just an all 'round unpleasant experience.

Thanks for suggestions guys, will mull it over

I have both of those units. The trade off is; HBS-700 ok sound, but long BT range (25ft) vs. HBS-730 better sound, but short BT range (10ft).

Sony Ericsson MW600 user here as well. I love that lil sucker. I use my Shure SE215's (clear) and any headsets I can muster like my Sol Republic Amps HD or Sol Republic Ultra's or whatever you have and like. I mean the sound is not like it is when plugged directly in, but sound better than stock nonetheless.

I just ordered a pair of Sennheiser MM 100's, will update with how they are once I get them.

I have the MM400s and they're awesome.

I have the sony wireless headset pro, the new one. It is really good, it has wolfson audio for the decoder and even takes a micro sd card. It is easily the best bluetooth headphones I have tried sound quality wise.

I was looking at those but they were a bit out of my price range
I got my MM 100's in today, and I'm impressed. Very clear audio for something this size, as expected from Sennheiser. They feel a bit cheap but I think that's more in the interest of making them light rather than saving money. I don't think they're worth the retail price ($150 ), but I got mine factory refurbished from a seller on amazon for around $40 and they came looking brand new, in refurb packaging of course.
Since I paired these with my phone first I tried call quality, and nobody had any issues understanding me.
EDIT: After some more listening it seems these headphones are lacking in bass... not that there isn't enough volume, but it is literally cutting out frequencies.

I hava nokia bh214 stereo bluetooth ,it's perfect for music & talk

I use the Sony Ericsson MW600, great batterytime, you can use whatever headphones you want and now it's almost for free.
Bought the Sony WS1, little on the expensive side but have alot of functions, same as the MW600 you can use other headphones but the ones that comes with are exellent, SD-slot only drawback is the batterytime...

I use a set of Motorola SF600's and a Plantronics M155 (for single ear A2DP goodness while hiking).
My thoughts on the SF600 are far different than moth peoples, apparently. I love them. I have had zero issues with them, and I am tough on them. They sound PHENOMENAL and the range is incredible. They also support Apt-X, but since the Nexus 7 doesn't, that isn't really a concern. Apt-X is awesome though.
The Plantronics is... OK. It rattles at high volume, and is generally annoying, but its great for the group hikes I go on (for when I am tired of hearing people whine and blabber on ) and it is really good for listening to music in the office.

I have the HBS-700 and really like it a lot. Is the 730 really THAT much of an upgrade to justify buying it if I already have the 700?

The reviews that I read about the 730's were that they were a downgrade. Owners of the 700 and the 730 said to not get the 730.
They also said that more than 5' away or loss of line of sight caused the 730s to drop out.

Recommendations for BT headset

Been looking a BT headset and not really sweet ng anything good. I'd really prefer not a single earpiece but that seems to be the only ones with a mic. Any suggestions on headsets?

No mic on it. I doubt the phone will pick up voice from a pocket or will it?
The one I have now is just loose in the ear just turning my head it almost falls out.

Didn't see it in the picture, it's hidden well then. The headset looks nice the only downside was no mic, but since it has one, it may be one I order.
Se mw600 ftw
I have the Sony MW600 as well and it is indeed nice, especially since you can use any IEMs with it.
Lately I have been mulling over the upgrade to the newly released MW1 but there seems to be compatibility issues with the microSD slot built into it.

LG Tone HBS-700
My favorite headset and I think I tried them all. Awesome battery life (10+ hours music playback), comfortable wear, hardware on/off, standard micro USB charging, vibrating call indicator, quality microphone, it beats all the other headphones I have. Currently $47 on Amazon.
I found the MW600 unusable because of its incomprehensible user interface, tiny controls that are easy to hit by mistake, fragile clip, unreadable display.
I also have a Motorola Sports and a Plantronics 603 which seem to share the same electronics and the same flaw: they sometimes refuse to power on even though fully charged, and sometimes lose their charge even when plugged in. To me that makes them completely useless if I can't count on them being ready when I need them.
Most others, like the Jabra Clipper, would almost be perfect if it weren't for their lousy battery life (5h playback on a good day).
The LG Tone could only be improved by making the earbuds interchangeable.
Yup, The best one. I already ordered one. The white version looks beautiful too.

I've had a pair of these for over a year and I love them -- best BT headphones I've ever had.
I use a Rocket fish behind-your-head BT headphones which has a mic. Bought them a year ago for $50 and they show zero signs of wear.
Oh, and they are go over your ear, not IN them...which always gives me a massive headache in under 10 minutes of use. These I can wear for hours on end with no pain
Best headphones ever.

Does your LG HBS-700 work with your Nexus 7?
Mine pairs, but when I try to play spotify, plex, etc., I don't get sound.
I have an og Evo 4G and when I run Jelly Bean based ROMs, the headset works for phone calls, but not for spotify, music, or anything other media.
I'm beginning to wonder if it is a compatibility issue with Jelly Bean.
Otherwise, I'm a big fan of the headset.
Tenqa Remxd Bluetooth Headphones -- Black
Arctic Sound P311 Bluetooth Headset -- Black

Cheap enough and good enough to take a chance.
I have the P311 and they are excellent for the price.

Sound dock

Does anyone use or know of a good sound dock to use with our note 2?
There are plenty of options for the iPhone/ipod but android seems quite limited.
Phillips seem to have a fairly good range from budget to higher end.
Or maybe is it better to have just a speaker(s)
I am not wanting one to use as an alarm just purely for music.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Both speakers look interesting, the Jambox seems to have some good reviews and is near to the top end of what i am wanting to spend.
Sound quality is a factor and i know i am not going to get state of the art with my budget nor ear splitting volume, i have my stereo for that anyway the Jambox again seems to have good reviews for sound quality the mini boombox does not have quite the same reviews although there is quite a price difference between the two.
One advantage of these as opposed to a dock is they are portable.
Any other recommendations on other speakers or docks or user views on the two items mentioned above.
Thanks
I was in Target couple days ago, and saw Bose Soundlink and BigJambox, same price, but I'm more interested in the Jambox, the demo song, it does indeed shows 3D virtual surround. Not sure if it still have 3D with non binaural recorded songs, but it's amazing. Might get that, need to save some dough first though, at$300 it's not cheap for me.

Thanks, do you have a link to the exact model you mention.
With the change to lightning from the Apple 30 pin, there should be a ton of discounted speakers and docks made for the older gen iOS devices. With Bluetooth to 30 pin adapters like this dockboss air : http://www.cablejive.com/products/dockBoss-air.html , you should be able to find a good solution. This is actually how I've tapped into my car stereo which has an iPod connector with my android devices. The nice side effect is that it passes the media controls as well, so the track advance/reverse can be controlled through it.

despite the negative reviews, I never had any problem with mine, and I have connected it to maybe 30 different phones and pda's because I bring it to work and my colleagues use it... maybe those people who gave a negative review do not know what they are doing to connect the unit....
Edit:
The Altec speaker is more on the clinical side... so it is good for listening to musical, voacls, rock, etc... it lacks the very deep bass of other speakers like the Bose or Logitech Boombox which I have owned... but it compensates for it's audio clarity... If you like bigger boomy bass, go for the logitach boombox, otherwise go for the the Altec... the Bose is not worth it IMHO.

I wonder if this will work with my Car Stereo too ... I have a Pioneer that has a Pandora App for iCrap and I hate using Headphone to Headphone for Pandora. It kills the sound quality.
I have just received the Soundfreaq SFQ-04 Sound Kick http://www.tesco.com/direct/soundfreaq-sfq-04-sound-kick-bluetooth-wireless-speaker/554-6436.prd

I have the sound stack from soundfreaq. They make a really good product from my experience.
I did a review of it here:

I have reviews coming up of specific android units from philips, iluv, and gracedigital. The grace digital dock is even note 2 specific!
Just an update on my Soundfreaq sound kick.
I am really impressed with the speaker, amazing clear sounds with no distortion, volume level is great as well.
Not for anyone who is looking for deep bass, but this little speaker is perfect for needs.
I like the usb slot at the back so i can charge my phone as it plays if i need to.
Really happy and a bargain at £74 when i bought it.

Looking for a Stereo BT headset for Workout and Movies

I am looking for some help. Now that I have a tablet and I am trying to find a good BT stereo headset for it. I am going to mostly use the headset for listening to my tablet for movies and doing items on my tablet where I do not want to bug my wife and others.
I am also going to want to use it with my phone when I am working out or working on items where a tablet is just too big to have around. I went to Best Buy and they stated to use the Jaybird ones. They are going to take a large chunk out of my wallet. I am trying to find what else is out there and would have good sound quality and bass for movies but can take getting all sweating in a work out.
Thank you for any help or tips on this. Just kind of stuck right now.
You can also look at getting a receiver that has a headphone jack and use the headphone of choice.

Might have to look into that. Thanks
Motorola has some water resistant ones but they are trash. Go with the jaybirds. I have several friends with them and they work great, and don't short out.
I have a Sony mw600 receiver that works pretty well. And with a standard 3.5 mm jack you can use any headset you want.
It's not as "clean" as a pure bt headset, but it's a lot more flexible. It has fm radio as well, a nice addition.
The only downside I found is the touch/pressure/whatever sensitive volume slider is a bit fiddly.
There is supposedly a newer version out, mw600s, but no idea about the changes and/or improvements.

I've used the Motorola S9 and now the S10 bluetooth stereo headsets. The S9 I sent back at least 4 times because sweat gets into the buttons and when you press up or down on them it sticks the contact and acts as if you are holding it down. I finally got out of the warranty period and found that if I put them on the airconditioner return (on the floor) for a few days they work fine. I have to say that the S10 has not had that problem. In both cases, the "in ear" nature of the S9 and S10 do not fit me well. Of course fit is highly subjective so take it for what it's worth.
The S9 had better sound to me than the S10 and was easier to control (when there wasn't sweat behind the buttons). On the S10 I have to really press the buttons hard to activate them. The pads on the end of each side on the S10 came off in the first week. They were stuck on with what is essentially double sided tape. I tried to glue one back on with super glue which just hardened the semi-soft pad into a wrinkled mess. I used a dremel with an abrasive buffer tip to smooth it down.
Finally, the soft ear tips on the S10 come off almost every time I take the headset off. Of course the headset is useless if you loose the tips...well, it works, but is pretty uncomfortable in your ears. The one good experience was that I called Motorola and they sent me a bag of the tips for free. So now I have (I think) 6 pairs, two each of each size. No hassle from customer service. I was ready to pay something, but they just sent them for free.
I'm in the market for some new stereo headphones for the gym. They must be bluetooth, take calls, and have controls on them. The problem is that it's an expensive game of hit or miss on fit and function although I can return them to BestBuy if needed.
It might seem that I'm down on the S9 and S10. In general, I like the way they fit around my neck, I just wish they would nail it instead of staying at about 80%.
Just my 2 cents.
I have a Sennheiser pxc 310, it's a very good device, but the big problem with bluetooth, movie and nexus 7, is the latency between sound and pictures.
I have the galaxy note 2 and there is no such problem, maybe the apt-x codec solve the problem.
Give the LG HBS-700 a shot. I use them for everything from work, to tv, to working out at the gym.
They sound decent and have a decent battery life.
My only gripe with them is that they slip a little when on the bench.

I'm using the LG HBS700 with So Slim Rom and the sound/video is very laggy and choppy over BT. Even when I play local files or ones over the network. I even tried watching a movie on Netflix. If I stop the video and plug in some headphones directly, it works fine. Anyone else have this problem? Might have to try a different Rom.

I have this problem on the stock ROM, if you do some searching apparently it's a common bug introduced recently.
It's pretty disappointing as I got a Jabra clip to make listening while on the treadmill easier and it's just skippy as hell.

Thanks, they will ship these to the UK as well which saves us about £40.

Good quality Bluetooth earbuds

I'm looking for some BT earbuds, better than average quality primarily for music to replace the Jabra 620s I have now. I'd like to keep the cost <$50.
I've seen a few suggestions here, but reviews on Amazon haven't been all that stellar. Any recommendations?

I have a LG HBS-730 ... I think it is the best of the $50 units. I picked mine up off of Amazon. The predecessor to this unit was the HBS-700, check out its ratings on Amazon ... it is very popular. Some people had a few difficulties with the 730 when it was released and this is reflected in some of the reviews. I am not having any problems on the Nexus 10 or my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

+1 from me! Very comfortable, great sound. Probably not for joggers though.

Any idea how it would work with a ski helmet? Does it block sound?
I've used the LG HBS-700 set for about a year. Love them, but had to send it in for repair after 4 months when the battery wouldn't hold a charge. Got them back and it's been good since.
Lg hbs 730
If you buy the the LG's be sure to hit up newegg and check the reviews on the HBS 730...I have both the 700 and the 730, 730 sounds better but has really awful reception compared to the 700. The reviews will confirm this.

I actually have the HBS-700's, not the 730's. I am not a skier, but if regular earbuds fit under a ski helmet, these should too. You would want to keep the part that you wear on your neck under a jacket or something so they don't fly off.
Just buy a bluetooth dongle/adapter and you can use any headphone

He's asking for a BT headphone recommendation. Don't you think he already has a dongle/adapter?

No or I wouldn't have suggested. Go back over to the useless micro usb storage thread

Phaiton PS 210 BTNC
After much research I got a pair of Phaiton noise-cancelling ear buds PS 210 BTNC active noise cancelling ear buds. They're pricey, but actually well worth it.
I might have unusually shaped ears, but ear buds are all too often torture for me. These are so comfortable that I can even fall blissfully asleep listening to music.
The sound quality is wonderful and the noise-cancellation is great on airplanes, in server farms, working w/ power tools, etc. Check it out!

Why should I do that? I actually addressed the OP's request. What have you contributed?

Something like this and you can use whatever headphone/earphone you already have. And if the battery ever runs out on the unit you can plug in your headphone straight into the phone.... Unlike bluetooth only headsets

There are cheaper and more expensive units. Sony, samsung and Habra has something similar. There is a black version for 20. Just look at amazon and look around for a bit. Good thing also is that you can hook a 3.5mm aux cable and connect it to speakers, car stereos, receivers and a lot more. A lot more versatile than bluetooth only headsets but i like a lot of functionality for devices and accessories. But you can pay more and have less options but hey you'll have "cool" bluetooth only headphones if you like.

Best Bluetooth or Wired Headset (Hands Free Calling)?

Does anyone suggest a BT or wired headset that they use for hands free calling and think is really, really good?
I've used the Plantronics Voyager Legend for a year (always update firmware), but after 3 months of use on the LG G2 I'm ready to ditch it. Bad on business calls. People say I'm tinny, my voice cuts in/out, and also (showstopper) it randomly drops calls.
Appreciate any suggestions (based on experience/use) out there...particularly for business use...

Thanks. Wow, I'd feel like I just walked out of the orthodontist wearing that thing. I may order one and give it a shot!
How about best wired options? Do you know of any? I may as well compare wired if I'm going to get a beast like this.
I've been enjoying using the LG Tone+ HSB-730 Bluetooth headset. Great battery life, range, and ergonomics. It's also the little things like being able to put on/take off a shirt while still listening that make these awesome. I've always used wired sets before but now I'm completely over with untangling wires and wearing out the cable near the headphone jack.
If you're going to get these here's a word of caution: there are plenty of fakes sold by Amazon's 3rd party retailers so be sure to get one shipped from Amazon itself. Search YouTube and Amazon customer comments for 'LG Tone+ fake' to know what's real.

+1 (I have the original LG Tone HSB-700 and paired with Viper4Android put all my wired buds to shame.)
I have the Tone Ultra and these are awesome. They have great battery life, JBL Speakers and noise cancelling.
