Windows 8 Android USB Drivers for IncS? - HTC Incredible S

I recently got Windows 8 its awesome BUT, when I connect my phone it says USB device not recognized. I know this is from drivers but i have the latest. Yes I went and got it from HTC's website along with HTC Sync but i still get the error. I cant get to my sd card or anything because of this and it REALLY sucks! i looked else where for the drivers but nothing works. Any help any1 please and thnx?

as far as i know, windows 8 can use any driver from windows 7 or vista. maybe u need to install it manually from device manager.
btw i never use win8, so i think its the same process to install driver
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk 2

I went to the device manager and uninstalled the device and the next time i connected it it installed the drivers fine. I dont know what the hell i did the first time i plugged it in but i clearly didnt let it install. Anyway thanks for the help, it was probably just a stupid mistake

Well be helpful and tell us what the problem and solution was
Update the USB driver
1) Get a computer of your own. Shouldn't cost more than $500 if you know how to shop for a full set.
2) Load Ubuntu on it. The drivers are already installed.
Windows 7 has recognized my G1 from build 7229 (its the one I started with) and haven't had any issues yet.
Windows 7 sometimes seems to be a problem sometimes with the drivers, removal and reinstall seems to do it
just install pdanet on your pc. it install all adb drivers.

The Nexus One USB Issue..

After hours of headache I am still unable to test my app on the nexus one device... mainly because my 64 bit Vista cannot find a device driver for the usb.
1. I have gone tried the developer.android instruction, which ofcourse does not work.
2.I have also gone tried the idea posted in a thread in this forum <mods wont allow me to post link> without success mainly because the cmd says "boot configuration data store cannot be opened. access is denied."
3. I went over Install and run USBDeview<mods wont allow me to post link> , but it wont work either, USBDView cannot uninstall in step 5 of the blog.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please if someone has installed the USB Driver for nexus one in a Windows Vista x64 help me out.. i have so many apps on the emulator which I want to try on the new device !!
Is their any other way I can port my app from the emulator and try it on the device? Thanks in advance
Please do not post non-dev related threads in the dev section... yeah, i think u thot this was a dev question since u are talking abt porting an app, but the question is really not dev related... this shud go in Q&A... mods please move!!
In any case, I've installed the N1 driver in Windows 7 x64 without any problem, and since the driver is the same for Vista & 7 x64, I don't think it shud be a problem...
I simply downloaded the drivers via the SDK setup... plugged in the phone and manually installed the driver via device manager... worked like a charm!!
+1 for the section and also for it working on Win 7 pro x64 for me.
+1 on posting in the proper section. I also have it working on win 7 x64.
As a side note, people who think the word 'should' is spelled 'shud' should not be correcting people.

Here you go - USB Driver that worked fine with Vista 64 bit - found on this very site. Install the driver and just enable USB debugging.

[Q] MTP USB Device won't install on Windows

When I connect my Galaxy S to my PC it starts to install the drivers.
The driver consist of 3 parts, but the last one, the MTP USB device, fails to install. I tried restarting my pc after installing Kies and also tried alternate drivers for Windows 7 x64.
When I connect my phone in Kies mode I get an error saying:
FsUsbService64
Service Initiali Failed
(screenshot attached)
Anyone familiar with this problem and/or it's solution?

I have the same problem, however using Windows XP 32 bit SP3
And I get:
Try this, its good for win7 32bit and 64bit also. (My girlfriend and I both have our own SGS, and her win7 32bit is working flawlessly with this driver just like my win764bit.)

All I know is that this usb driver package helped me and my gf either, without this pack I got the same error like you did, and since then everything works properly. If this package cant help you then I have to admit this is beyond my knowledge.
Just found our that i left my usb cable at work
Thanks again for your suggestion. I will try this after the weekend.

Some more info.
The last one is from Event Viewer, where it claims that this version of Windows does not support Windows Portable Device drivers.
What a bunch of bollox, my HTC HD2 synced just fine. Must be Samsung crappy driver I guess.
And yeah, I got v 4.5 of windows installer.
update: after lots of googling, I've solved the issue.
re-installed Windows Mediaplayer 11 !

huh?.. mediaplayer? wierd solution ..
I had this issue too, on my moms pc.
I installed kies befor plugging my phone to the pc, it worked perfectly then, installed the drivers and all. could not see if you had tried that. so its worth a shot
another thing to keep in mind
open TASK Manager in Windows
and make sure ADB.EXE is not running
if ADB.exe is there just end task it
when ADB.exe is left in memory, it locks up the USB connection with the phone, and Kies goes into dumb mode

Not really, WMP 10 is the one responsible for the stock MTP driver.
My old computer worked fine with kies, but this new 64 bit one just wont insall the mtp driver, even if i try manually.
Just a quick note on what I discovered last night when trying to get my SGS connected.
Bluetoothe needs to be off
It has to be using the stock Home screen I was as ever using LauncherPro. As soon as I switched back to stock it connected.

try what I did, re-install WMP 10 (or 11)
I don't know if this is obvious or not... but if your running a downloaded Launcher such as Launcher Pro... make sure you revert back to the stock launcher when trying to connect to KIES. This has been my problem until I stumbled across it last week.

USB Not Recognized when in Bootloader

Trying to unlock my bootloader, but when in bootloader mode and plugging my HTC one into my computer it saids "USB not Recognized."

Make sure you're plugged into a USB 2.0 port. 3.0 ports don't work with ADB on my laptop.

So its directly related to USB 3.0.
"sigh" gotta pull out my old windows laptop then
Mac is basically linux, and from my experience with linux, you need to configure some stuff in order to get things working, i'm on the phone right now so i don't have a link to share but i recommend looking online.for.a tutorial to build AOSP from source on linux or MAC, there you will.find the steps needed to set up your USB configuration, ignore the rest after the config or.what is not needed.
Hope this helps.

Please Read the 3rd line of my post. I have said already "I have also tried formatting my le 2 and my pc but still the same"
And also as i know about these things being a developer myself and having rooted and developed some things for some few phones before, i have also tried uninstalling the drivers completely also tried installing other drivers which i find compatible. But still the Same Problem....
Can you please do 1 thing, can you use a tool named DrvBk and backup your le 2 related drivers? And then give it to me so i can try installing that...
It will be very helpful of you.
Thanks in advance.

I dont think its the driver problem. The might be the USB code running on the phone is failing. I was unable to find driver(INF file with VID and PID) for LEECO Le 2(You can find PID/VID using USBVIEW). Suggest to use AIRDROID or SHAREIT that is if your WIFI is working Or USB OTG(I thing you have thought this).

Yes but im just confused about 1 thing i even did factory reset and even full wipe and flash on my le2 and also usb works well in fastboot mode. So i can't figure out what's the problem.....
And also i would have got the driver INF file
But the phone is just giving no driver to my pc
And pc says device descriptor request failed. So means pc can't even identify phone. so how can i get the pid or vid cause i dont even have any drivers....
And share it or airdroid wont work for me as my pc doesn't have a wifi card
So rerouting file thru my modem would be very slow for transferring file of more than 10 gb size. So it would take hours maybe for that
So only solution i have now if usb not solved is to buy a new usb otg cable as my old one got ripped. So if i dont get any solution within a few days, then thats my only option :crying:
