I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom Jelly Bean ROM for the LG Nexus 4! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs. A MCR release is designed to feel like a stock ROM with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM you must have a custom recovery installed. The ROM is installed at your own risk. A wipe IS recommended if coming from a ROM other than MCR or stock. BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE INSTALLATION!
MCR Nexus ROM features Include... (many optional via the Online Kitchen) - check kitchen defaults for what is in the prebake:
Based on the 4.2.2 / JDQ39 release, updated, rebuilt, compressed and optimised with the MCR build system.
For this MCR we've used the latest available shipping ROM, updated with all the latest versions of the installed apps, which we've run through our scripts to ensure that it is as optimised as possible both for install / download size and real life performance.

De-odexed... re-odexable.
Our ROMs are de-odedex, giving you the ability to flash other mods over the top, tweak the system and generally get the system set up as you want it without worrying about odex issues. We also include the 'OdexMe' application, which lets you odex your system when you're ready, saving valuable space on your data partition.

Pre-rooted
All MCR ROMs are pre-rooted with SuperSU preinstalled. In addition, the kitchen allows you to choose between secure, insecure and secure with patched ADB boot images.

Enhanced Quick Settings
The quick settings in Android 4.2 are cool, but limited. MCR builds include a customised version of the excellent 'Quick Settings' mod by kevdlui, allowing you to customise your toggles by holding the Settings button down. The WiFi and Bluetooth buttons are also changed to toggles - long press to access the settings menus.

Enhanced Power Menu
The enhanced power menu (the one that appears when you hold down the power button) has additional options to allow you to reboot and reboot to recovery.

Apps aren't disabled on boot
Jelly Bean added a feature to disable apps on boot that aren't intended for your region (Wallet, Ears, Magazines etc.). I think we're smart enough to make that decision ourselves right? So that doesn't happen in a MCR.

Legacy Play Store
Isn't it frustrating how Google removed the ability in the Play Store to see which apps you'd bought in a nice simple list? I thought so... so I created 'Legacy Play Store', which has this feature.

Legacy browser and Flash
Google might be ditching the stock browser for Chrome and Adobe might have canned Flash, but we still need to use it sometimes... so it's included in a MCR.

Patched Google Wallet
We've patched Google Wallet to remove all region and root checks, so you can have a play!

Facebook sync support
Google removed all support for syncing contact information via the Facebook app, we put it back. It's basic support (an app like HaxSync is more fully featured) but hey, it works!

init.d support on boot
The init.d directory is processed on boot, allowing our (and your) startup script to be processed before the system starts up.

'TweakDeck' - Tweetdeck, fixed
Tweetdeck was great. Twitter ruined it. It's fairly comprehensively broken on Android, but we've fixed it with TweakDeck.

MCR Nexus 4 ROM specific features Include... (many optional via the Online Kitchen) - check kitchen defaults for what is in the prebake:
Trackball Alert Pro compatibility for custom notification LED colours
Trackball Alert by lilHermit lets you choose custom notification LED colours for ANY app, with no impact on battery life. We work closely with lilHermit to ensure TBA is supported in MCR.

Alternative UI options (clickable when hidden menu keys with alternate locations, search button)
A number of different UI options are included - the default option makes the legacy menu button available on both sides of the screen for easy reach and also keeps them active when invisible, handy if there's a pesky menu button at the top right that you can't quite get too! You can also bring back the good old search button. Percentage battery meters are also included in stock style and round style.

Changelog
Please see the post below this one for the changelog.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your sdcard.
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to the internal sd card! Remember that due to the 4.2 user changes, you may need to change to the '0' directory in recovery to find the zip!
If you have problems with Market licencing, check your device date!
First boot may take a while - be patient while it carries out it's pre-dexopt. It's worth it!
Downloads
Please do not mirror these packs elsewhere, I am counting downloads to determine which prebakes are most popular and should be offered in the future.

Support
If you have a general question, please post in the topic.
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not guaranteeing that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in the download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

Notes
1st boot will take several minutes for dalvik-cache to generate coz ROM is deodexed! Because every app is deodexed, dalvik-cache will grow ~20 MB bigger.
kernel
Default kernel speeds are 246 MHz min and 600 MHz max. It can be overclocked to max 806 MHz and underclocked to min 123 MHz. Default governor is ondemand. To change those parameters (speed or governor), use SetCPU or you can make a script run by run-parts that sets those parameters for you on every boot.
Click to collapse
kernel modules
Loading kernel modules is done by editing /data/local/modules file. Modules are added separated by spaces or one per line (ext4 and ipv6 added by default).

You can check this thread on how to use it but in general just execute "aufs --enable" and reboot for changes to take effect.

partitioning
If you want to use a2sd or data2ext you need 2nd partition on your SD card. For partitioning you can use my customized CWM fake-flash but if you want to know more about partitioning consider consulting this guide.
Click to collapse
formatting
To use your newly created partition you first have to format it using format_sd-ext utility via adb shell or some terminal app (not while in CWM). Utility accepts one parameter which can be either ext2, ext3 or ext4 according to your needs.
Click to collapse
a2sd
To use this feature you have to enable it first. You do that by executing "a2sd --enable" via adb shell or some terminal app. To relocate dalvik-cache also, execute "a2sd --dc2sd" too. Reboot for changes to take effect. To see how much space do you have on relevant partitions execute "a2sd --free". If you want to disable a2sd, execute "a2sd --disable". In this case you loose all apps and dalvik-cache needs to be recreated upon reboot so make sure to backup apps before disabling.
Click to collapse
data2ext
To enable this feature, execute "data2ext --enable" via adb shell or some terminal app. Reboot for changes to take effect. If you have problems, logcat 1st several lines of boot process to see what's going on and post your findings. Questions like "Why is data2ext not working on my phone?" will be ignored! Mind also that a2sd and data2ext can not run simultaneously!
CAUTION! Rebooting your phone while using this feature might result in some or all user data being lost!
Click to collapse
SSH server
SSH server is disabled by default. If you wanna use it enable it by executing "chmod 755 /data/local/init.d/50sshd" and reboot your phone. Authentication is done by private/public key pair. To login you need to populate /data/dropbear/authorized_keys with your public ssh key.
Click to collapse

Changing hostname of your phone is done by editing /data/local/hostname file. Default hostname is "legend". If you don't want your phone to have hostname just delete contents of /data/local/hostname (make it zero size).

I think you can use Blayo's custom kernel from this thread, if you want to OC it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=856786
yeah I know about thatone (used it for a little while when I was running vodafone rom) but that's "only" 787 and I like to use my phone's full potential 825~844 I use 825 for daily and 844 and sometimes even 864 for benchmark but 864 usually crashes before it can do the whole benchmark .
Does this ROM support a2sd?
I'm running it right now, so far quite a few freezes... had to pull the battery 3 times already. did a clean wipe before flashing.
BlaY0, could you please let me know if we can make rooted ROM from the official Froyo OTA following the steps you used for the Vodafone OTA:
BlaY0 said:
OK here's the deal.... as I can't UL everything to the internets (I'm on EDGE) here's what I did.
- Downloaded Voda RUU, OTA to 2.05.161.1 and OTA for FroYo
- Flashed system.img from RUU
- edit first OTA's updater-script - deleted checks and flash of firmware.zip
- flash tweaked first OTA via ClockworkMod
- edit second OTA's updater-script - deleted checks and flash of firmware.zip
- flash tweaked second OTA via ClockworkMod
- extracted radio.img from second OTA and flash it separately
- root boot.img from second OTA and flash it separately
- added su and Superuser.apk
- rebooted

Maybe I should try your solution. Freeze on mine too after a few minutes.
Update:
Restoring to Voda Froyo... changing kernel disabled wifi therefore will wait for further update from Blayo.

Perflock is disabled via kernel module from SetCPU. If you use kernel without perflock, then you should use SetCPU or similar software to set some profiles. Stock kernel in Voda ROM also had some problems with ondemand governor (dunno if this is still the case with this one) forcing the proc to the highest frequency most of the time which is not good for your battery I guess. Maybe it is not such a good idea to disable perflock with this kernel after all so here is how you can enable it again:
Code:
adb shell chmod 644 /data/local/init.d/90perflock
adb reboot
...or use my kernel from the other thread (I know you already tried that). Future versions of this ROM will also contain OC kernel etc.
OK, I have a request for you guys...
Can someone put this ROM to some other file sharing sites posting the link here and I will update 1st post adding the link.
Please test all aspects of this ROM so we could isolate the problems and try to find solutions for them...

Q: Why aren't you using AROMA?
A: Because AROMA is broken on newer phones. It freezes, touch screen is inaccurate, and the colors are way off. For now, a regular install is best. Most of the apps that have been taken out can be reinstalled from viperControl.
Q: How do I access viperControl?
A: Open Terminal Emulator, type "su" (without quotes), accept the Superuser prompt, type "vc" (without quotes) and you're in! Poke around, there is a lot more functionality coming. It is a little bare now because this is a new device and not everything works the same way. More features will come
Q: When is the next update? (Also known as the dreaded "ETA" question)
A: PLEASE do not ask this. You may not think it's a big deal, but it drives me a bit crazy. We are very open and always let you know when something is in the works. When we have news, we will let you know as soon as we have it.
Q: How do ROM updates work?
A: I have removed HTC OTA updates, because you don't want them on a custom ROM Instead, we will be using GooManager for updates for the ROM. We will, of course, announce when we have a new version out, but GooManager will also "ping" your device to let you know that an update is available. It will flash it for you if you are on TWRP (maybe CWM, but I haven't tried)
Q: Can I live on the "bleeding edge" and get updates ahead of time?
A: Yes and no. We do not need testers at this time, but I have decided to keep an open SVN. You can access it here. If you want to know how to use this, please read LiquidSolstice's very informative thread here. Ask the questions about setting up SVN in that thread if you need help with it, please.
Q: Ok, I don't need "bleeding edge", but I'd like to see what you are doing? Can I?
A: Sure, here is the commit log. It will tell you everything being done
Q: Do you plan to support viperROM on devices other then Sprint devices?
A: I would like to, but I can't make any promises right now.
Q: HELP! SOMETHING WENT WRONG!?
A: Don't panic. Did you read everything as the instructions said? Take another read over the information and try again. Everything should be accurate and all the info above should be sufficient to get you going.

Thanks
viperROM One has launched! Please read everything in the OP and the 3rd post, it will clear up almost any questions that you have. Steve and I will be updating the thread over the weekend to make it look pretty
Please, do not hesitate to post in this thread. We are very helpful people, we love our users. Just please make sure to read everything we've written before asking questions, it gets tedious answering the same things over and over that have already been put in the thread.
For the most up to date information, keep an eye on this thread. You can also follow me on Twitter and like the viperROM page I made a while ago on Facebook.
I hope you all enjoy your phones when you get them tomorrow and I hope you all enjoy the ROM. Trust me, there is plenty of good stuff coming. You all should be excited for Steve to get the phone, he is the master of tuning these things!
Enjoy
i just finished my backup currently transferring rom to phone will flash soon

Just one question, because there I'd no s-off yet, can I flash this like normal or do I have to do anything different like with the evo lte I think people who didn't have s-off had to flash the kernel or boot.img separate, I was always s-off so I never paid to much attention to that part

Info
Hello,
So this is the first time in rom development and figured I'd give the OUYA a go! So here is my first try at something.
Whats done?
Based on 1.0.519 OTA
Kernel compiled from 1.0.519 source with linaro.
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Superuser/Busybox preinstalled
Cifsmanager preinstalled
CIFS support
Init.d support
XThemeEngine support for user themes
Updater patched
Whats still left to do?
Change boot animation to match current theme *placeholder*
Fix a few remaining areas of the theme
Completely remove updater *fixed*
Work out a better way for CIFS support ( it has been quite random for me... ) *fixed*

Click to collapse
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Install
Follow the install instructions for CWM from here
Push the rom to /sdcard/ ( use adb push, copy it over via usb, etc.... DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER )
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Install the rom
Reboot!

Click to collapse
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post-Install
Go to MAKE -> Software -> Superuser, it'll prompt you to install. Accept.
Go to Xposed Installer ( same place as Superuser ) and click Install/Update, afterward go to Modules section and make sure to check "Play Store Mode For Ouya [1.0]" and "XThemeEngine [beta5]". Go back and reboot.
After reboot you should be able to setup Play Store and everything else should be setup and good to go!

How does it affect future official updates? If i install this ROM, the automatic updates will still work? If so, will i lose the CIFS support and all the custom features of this ROM?

At the moment yes if an update comes out it will overwrite all changes and you will loose the features.... a quick workaround is the build.prop changes changing the update url to point to a non existent location.
Hopefully I'll have something up to fix the updater ( or rather completely remove the updater ) "soon"™.

Oh, thank you for your answers. I'll wait patiently for the fix then
So my script failed on dumping out the odex files after copying the deodexed ones back in... so that is now fixed.
Also put in the temp removal of the update url in build.prop for the time being.

Keep your theme, default colors suck. Hey please keep your roms coming. Please disable the autoupdate and work on the colors for the boot splash. I hope more people jump on, looks quiet around here, considering Ouya is soldout mostly everywhere. This thing is a sleeping giant.
May have to give this another go. I'm on the CM rom, but it lacks some of the essentials.
Anyone know if there's an app or launcher to get the tablet-style interface for home? The bottom bar with the back/home/recent clock/notification buttons.

Also, could you have su already updated in the ROM?
Just ideas to make it more convenient to end users.

Love this, thank you for all the hard work. But I'm having an issue with the CIFS support. It's my understanding that CIFSManager can also do SMB. However, when I put all my settings in, I get invalid argument.
I have verified that I can connect to this share from both my laptop (Mac) and my desktop (Linux).
I have a SMB share called floppy. I'm going to put addresses, because why the hell not... it's all internal anyways.
Share Path: 10.0.1.30/ROM
Mount Point: /mnt/sdcard/floppy
Username: guest
Password: <blank>
Options: unc=\\\\10.0.1.30\\ROM,noperm
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help...
EDIT: Sideloaded an APK for ES Explorer, verified I can connect to the share there as well, just not through CIFSManager....

This one, from what I understand it's Android compliant, so it just needs the standard USB Audio modules. I know the Nexus 7 got it working with certain kernels that had the necessary modules loaded. Jellybean was supposed to make this easy, but it's been hit or miss on which ROMs have the files.
When I get home, I'll flash the OuyaPlus back and see if I can test it.
Thanks! cifs was what i sat down to do today, and bam. stock rom, with root, busybox and cifs now i can mount a many terabyte zfs volume!

This ROM is a joint effort put together by @bri315317, @ted77usa and myself. This is the ROM that we believe everyone has been waiting for, it is cross compatible with both the S5 and S5A, is designed to be fast, stable and easily accept mods and themes. Our goal was to provide one ROM that is easily maintained for both devices. It uses a proprietary scripting system designed to detect and correctly configure multiple devices (in this instance the S5 and S5A) it can be expanded to include many more. We hope you all enjoy this ROM and our goal is to make it easier to maintain and support rather than trying to devide our time amongst several different ROMs.

The following issues may be encountered:
1. Fingerprint scanner sensitivity may be encountered when attempting to change secure lockscreen type
if this is encountered the alternate password still works to allow access.
2. Screen on notification for text messages even though a toggle is included may not work properly.
3. Bluetooth devices may disconnect on outgoing or incoming calls (not reproducable by me)
one user reports no problems with BT, one user reporting this issue. even tho i have only the one
report i am amaking mention of this issue here as it is a definite nuisance.

Reboot to SS Recovery
Special Note:
1. Private Mode - Has been removed from the build, without the accompanying knox components Private Mode remains non-functional. I know that there are ROM's out there with Private Mode working however, I have not had time to research exactly what is required in order to make it play well with custom ROMs it is possible that it just requires the missing folder structure and nothing more but I have not had time to delve into that as of yet. In deference to performance and functionality most accompanying code has been removed.
2. A.R.T. Runtime - A.R.T. runtime even on a good day is tempermental at best, Google did not intend it to be any type of daily use environment and since this ROM is de-odexed the system has a dificult time handling the conversion process from Dalvik to A.R.T. therefore I have chosen to temporarily disable this feature through the developer options in settings. All of the code for this feature still exists within the ROM itself and can be turned back on fairly easily, my intentions are to wait until Google decides if this is going to be mainstream or drops it from use.
Major enhancement to the flashing process
I have included custom scripts that are called during the flash process (I originally wrote and implemented these in the HTC forums). These scripts in conjunction with the updater-script are able to better handle the process of wiping /system and /data and also include the automatic backup and restore of all user level apps from /data/app. The scripts intentionally ignore all coresponding application data backing up only the core apk itself. this offers you a completely clean start from scratch not only for all system apps but all of your personal apps as well. Now when flashing there is no more need to remember to wipe data or system just copy the zip to your sdcard, reboot to SS Recovery and flash and your done.

The Pure Nexus Project
We are not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone as a result of installing custom roms and/or kernels. you do so at your own risk and take the responsibility upon yourself.
"This is a user friendly thread. All feature requests will be heard and considered. I am not against anything that doesn't stray too far away from the original idea of the ROM! Helping one another is also encouraged! Please be respectful and you will always be treated the same way, we are all here for a good experience."
The Pure Nexus Project aims to bring stability and features to your Nexus device, while keeping Google's vision in line and not straying too far away from that. If you are looking for a stable ROM with true tested features and minimal bugs, then this is the place to be.

Hey Guys! This is PureNexus for the ADT-1 (molly). Hope you enjoy!
Bugs:
Code:
*Nexus Remote doesn't pair, henceforth, no Remote Mic yet (this may not even be possible)
*Rear Button doesn't work in Recovery
*LED Control only possible via Kernel Settings, see LED section below
*A few Play Store apps are missing, probably a missing identifier, should be solved soon
*On device mute doesn't function, remains at the lowest volume, muting the TV itself works fine
LED Color Control Instructions
We are working on a GUI App to do this. For now, the default color is Cyan, though the color is controlable via Kernel Settings, these can be manually set using form a root prompt:
Code:
echo [I]value[/I] > /sys/devices/platform/molly-led/[I]color[/I]
You will first need to echo 0 to the "pulsing" color to enable customization.
Where /value/ can = 0-255, and color can be "red", "blue", or "green". You can mix and match different values of different colors to get a variety of secondary colors, i.e. 255 > red, 255 > blue = purple, while 255 > red, and 150 > blue = hot pink.
We have also set up a "pulsing" color, which will accept any value from 0 (off) and 1 (on), will give the same LED pulse found on stock, and run through the range of supported colors.
To disable the LED, echo 0 to all the colors.
A script I set up that goes through all the colors can be found here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087018750

Sweetness. Over on G+ it was mentioned that Cast wasn't fully working - does that mean it doesn't work at all, or that it only works for a restricted set of apps like the ADT-1 does on stock?

I'm not entirely sure. I haven't installed PureNexus on my ADT-1. I'm more focused on CM13.

Its broken. Unfortunately that's the hand-off with Marshmallow for now ): We are working on it though!
Check the bugs list in the 2nd post.
I definitely need to flash this later on! I was one of the lucky winners to receive an ADT-1 last July, and I've been using it for development and as a consumer box (it works well with most Android TV games and emulators).
I have to admit you guys have done a great job with this ROM. Everything seems to run smoothly. Thank you so much for helping resurrect the ADT-1.
Just a FYI - the Kodi ZIP does not seem to install via TWRP at least on my ADT-1. It's not a huge deal since you can just move the two files to the proper directory in the /sdcard.
I flashed TWRP easily enough, but it doesn't seem to recognize any of my USB keyboards. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you for keeping the ADT-1 moving forward. I have mine on 5.0.2 and everything I have on it works great. I want to upgrade but I'm wondering if it is fair to say that the apps that don't work with the Nexus Player on 6.0.1 won't work on this either. Or is this a whole different beast? Just don't want to set it all up and not have my Xfinity app work. I will try it after Xmas if no one answers by then. Thanks again.

Yeah. If it doesn't work on the NP on 6.0.1, most likely won't work here.

Great work! I've been waiting for someone to create a ROM for this device. I put my ADT-1 away when it lost official Google support and got a Nexus Player which I love. I'll definitely be flashing this during the winter break for my bedroom. Good to know that the powerful hardware of this device isn't going to waste. Much appreciated!
