Updated Having Fun with Your Nexus 7 Guide - Nexus 7 General

Hi:
I updated having fun with your Nexus 7 guide with sections on Folder Organizer, Multipicture Live, Nexus Media Importer, Accessories, 4.2 headaches and more:
http://www.nexus7nexus10.com/forum/...our-nexus-7-tablet-basic-step-step-setup.html
It's a little too big to post here.
Tom

Nicely done

Hi:
I would like to see the guide stickied as I think it would serve as a starter to help users setup the Nexus 7 but I am unclear on the process. It's already larger than the allowed post limit so it would take intervention from an admin.
Tom

Please ask a mod to check your link ..
Very kewl guide..
It does not matter or effect me one way or the other. Just thought i would point out that its against the xda rules to post links to information on another similar site.as XDA..
You might should copy and past your Guides code into your OP Post here. Then ask a mod to sticky the post . This would fit good in our Question and answer area..
Again ask mod if your link is ok and how to deal with getting it stickied ..I could be wrong.
Great Work.....
Again im just trying to help not cause trouble . For me it would be fine.. But i see how xda could bark at the link...

Woah!!! Chill out guv, guy clearly says he's asking a stupid question, either direct him or leave it to the mod, who asked you to answer anyway???
Adeela, check on the Skins thread, it's a simple matter of downloading file manager from the market, dropping the theme on to the SD Card and then using file manager to install it.
Download the .apk and use Astrofile manager to install the apk file thats what i do and it works fine

I know people don't read every thread but jeez, the sticky has [SKIN] and if they read the first post it tells them.
People really need to read the XDA rules. This is why it is getting more and more difficult to search the forums because of useless posts.

Useless posts like the one you just made?
If you really want to educate the guy then PM him.
I don't mean to be facetious or anything - I just think your initial reply to the OP was a little harsh and not very constructive tbh.

Agreed. The OP has oly just joined, that was his/her 2nd post in which they clearly noted they are new to this.
I am new to Android too and had to get my head around some things, and you can see I have been here a while!
Also as you pointed out the sticky is titled [SKINS] not themes, in some peoples minds these can be quite different things.
Close this thread please.

Rooting a nexus

Super one click root
Hey all,
I just saw a youtube video on a root method called super one click.
Would that work for my nexus one 2.2.1 frg83d???
Please help.
I really want a easy root for my phone.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yes it's really easy. I rooted my phone using that just 2 days ago. Only things you need to do is download the android sdk download the driver and the adb file. The unlockr.com has a tutorial on how to set up your driver. Then after that you connect your phone and download that super one click and use it. Good luck
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
thanks.
So you sure I could use it for frg83d?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
The link I gave you in your other post suggested reading the wiki. The wiki will tell you what methods still work for FRG83D...
Yes, it will work...

Hey I just want to know what is the easyest way to root a nexus one frg83d.
I already have the unlocked padlock.
Please explain here and don't give some link. Thanks.

Good grief Charlie Brown - how many times do you need to ask the same question?
Since your bootloader is unlocked, just fastboot flashort a custom recovery, then use to install a custom ROM or rooted stock ROM...

Put some effort into searching.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705460
Also, see the Wiki Sticky thread above yours...
Can't believe he'd come in here to say "explain here and don't give links".
What does he expect? Pretty much if he can't handle figuring it out from the wiki or guides out there, he shouldn't be rooting at all.

Hi there. Welcome to the Internet. Let me explain to you how a forum works.
1) People make posts to contribute to the overall knowledge bank of the forum.
2) The posts stick around - forever. No information is ever lost.
3) If someone has an issue that isn't previously covered by another post, they post a new post looking for clarification. That post (and the posts that answer the post) also stick around forever.
4) Before you (the user) make a new post, you are expected to look around to see if your question has been answered before. This keeps the forum from being cluttered with redundant posts, and makes the useful posts easier to find.
5) You will have to click links, read multiple posts, and do a little bit of thinking and processing on your own to use what you have learned.
Please, search. Even easier, just look at the stickied threads at the top of the board. They contain links to information that covers everything you need. No one here is going to hold your hand every step of the way, at least not until you put forth some effort of your own - like the two minutes of effort to look around the board and find the information you need. If you aren't willing to put forth that effort, and expect someone to hold your hand, you really do not have any business trying to hack your device. You'll just break it, and won't know how to fix it.

Attention Streak 7 Newbies!!!

I have put together a website that consolidates all of the developments surrounding hacking the Streak 7 into one convenient location. You don't have to search through the forum to figure stuff out, just go to the site and click on the article. If you need further help, then consult the forum
http://illdill.org/Streak7/
Thanks to all the developers out there who make this possible. Keep up the great work!

+1 also your links are broken (dj_steve update links)
I will try to post the two original files somewhere when I get home.
Sent from my Dell Streak 7 using XDA App
Right, I am just copying what is in the forum threads for the purpose of making it easier for newbies to make these updates. Also, there is no forum on my site, it is strictly informational. In any instance where someone had questions about the content of my site, I would always refer them to the xda forum. I will continue to include links in the articles to the relevant original xda thread as well.
Thanks for the heads up on the broken link, I am in the process of making sure I have the updated as well as original files available. Further suggestions are appreciated.
I have the originials. Have a place i can put them?

I'm uploading them now, my internet is terribly slow. Thanks though
here is the boot file:

Since I am currently unemployed, I am going into town today to register with a temp agency. I will hit up a coffee shops wireless and get the files uploaded. My Clear ISP is pretty crappy. I can upload the boot image, but not the system, it is too big.

but no answer what should i do ??? keep looking to my phone and it problems without resolving them !! i'm sorry but it's my only Forum i use i don't use google to search sollutions i only use XDA :/
you can also use the search button here on xda...there are many of threads describing that problem and solutions. With your philosophy, I am quite sure that not many users will help you.
I already said in your other thread that one thread will suffice. So please, just make one thread and be patient. I'm online almost every day and so are tons of other xda users. Rest assured that at least SOMEONE will get back to you.
Refer to this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2376275 if you want the solution
We don't like having to read so many threads for the same problem. One is enough because it also helps keep things organised.

Nexus 7 2012 Kit Kat

Hey, it's my first post here and I was wondering if the nexus 7 from 2012 will get the new transparent navigation buttons, and notification bar. I really want this look on my nexus. Also, when will the n7 get kit kat? Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can install the unofficial builds of 4.4 already
Google will release the official thing in "the next few weeks"
You're posting in the wrong section, by the way

or just read about release date on what ever news site you read about kit kat in the first place..
People are not yelling at you Just advising you there is a structure and format on XDA. if we all do not follow it Information would be Lost and Confusing to find..
The unofficial releases would be in the Development threads . Means FLASHING your Device
Good Luck.

Ok, seen enough joking around. You all should be a little nicer...
Would have been much easier to answer the OP's issue, without all the smart-alek responses
Now that people have been reminded to;
a. Use the "search" feature (it actually works.....most of the time)
b. Post questions in the "Q & A" Forum
I can close this now.
@jackthebomb they are just messing with you, actually some good folks here.
