INCREDIBLE CASE/MOUNT 200 pre orders - Nexus 10 Accessories

UPDATE----
So can we all please copy this email and send it to: [email protected]
Dear Alon,
I would love a Nexus 10 Studio Proper Case, please could you consider looking at making the case, and I'll purchase one as soon as they become available!
An XDA forum member said that you would make this happen if you can get 200 pre-orders? Here's the thing: the Nexus 10 will sell well. Not like iPads, but I would be shocked if it isn't the best selling 10" Android tablet... which isn't saying much, but if it's worth your while to make and sell Galaxy tablet cases, then this one will be too! PLUS, some of the people that buy Galaxy tablets at Best Buy or whatever big box store aren't nerds and won't look online for unique cases, but Nexus 10 owners are almost all giant nerds, like me. We go online and buy things - that's how we bought the nexus 10!
Your case looks AMAZING, and it's exactly what I need for on-the-go protection and a car/work/home mount. Please make them available for the Nexus 10 soon!
Thank you,

Just had a reply from Studio Proper....

Alon

What do you all think
N

Would this be a case for a Nexus 10, that also lets me wall mount it (securely) too? So I could use the case part for general use, and then just put it on my wall near my bed, maybe swipe at it a few time to check stuff, and then just take it off the wall when I wake up?
If so, I'd preorder that if it isn't too much money

I really liked the case .. i can see me using it a few times i could pre order depending on the price... any idea of how much willl be?

Find out how much or no one will agree. Also, you're gonna have to try harder, no way you're getting 200 pre-orders on xda. Can kick starter help with something like this?

They do Samsung 10.1 case

That's a bargain
Come on people

Seems like just $40 for the case itself, with the wall-mount disk "sold separately" :/ A bit on the expensive side imo

I'd do it in a heartbeat for the headrest mount alone.

Find some nexus 10 pages, and start posting on them, that's it. Or post it on popular pages such as official Google Play or Android pages.

I'm down. This is exactly what I was looking for!
THE ONLY ISSUE: I do not want to go without a case TOO much longer. Can you just convince him to start selling? This will be an XDA favorite, and the Nexus 10 isn't going anywhere for a while - with the Nexus branding, it won't be a flop tablet, it will probably be the best selling 10" android tablet to date!
edit: RENAME THE POST TO INCLUDE "INCREDIBLE CASE/MOUNT" in the title!

I have emailed them again asking to see if the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 case fits, if so we can get that!
Keep emailing him!!!

I would order this but I think someone would beat them to it and I need my case now! I want a snap on case but everyone keeps making these terrible folio cases.
I would order the Amzer TPU from expansys but the $21 shipping to Canada kills it.

Hmm.. not a bad idea! But I hope he makes one for the N10!
I wonder: does anyone think that the case maker is already planning on creating one for the N10, but figures this would be easy, free publicity? If so: good for him, can't really blame him, to be honest! But I hope he gives us a release date soon.
Nick, here is the email I sent, I added to yours, feel free to update the OP if you want:

Why is Craigslist so cheap?

I was looking on it and there's an Alienware laptop worth £900 and someone is selling for £350. Also there is a higher specced alienware worth more and he's selling it for £600. Why is it so cheap?? I emailed him too and he said its in new condition
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
Plenty of reasons: could be hard up for cash, could be stolen, could be broken, or maybe they intend to rob you.
Bottom line is that Craigslist is a gamble. There are some common sense things you can do to give yourself the best possible chance of coming away from a deal successfully, but no matter how much effort you put in there will always be a chance you end up 'a*s out'
Second hand
When it's a second hand device, it's obvious that will be cheap.
The first response says it all. I have been lucky thus far but I am thorough when I inspect something I'm considering purchasing. Done maybe 3 or so dozen transactions with nary a bad experience. Meet publicly if possible, do as I do and carry a concealed firearm if possible and if you are not an expert on what it is you are buying, bring someone along who is.

I heard way too many horror stories about people getting robbed, attacked and injured from these things.
I always make sure it's the morning if possible, and we meet somewhere public. You can tell sometimes if the person is just out to get money from you if they just accept anything.

Also I have found most of the really great deals are usually stolen or the people need money for drugs.

Yep.
Weird way to benefit from someone else's addiction - but that's life I suppose.
Our gun laws are stupid strict. You need licenses, passes, you can't even carry one on your person - you have to have it locked up in a gun case, lock and key. The fines, and charges are even more epic.

Robber attacked you:
Robber (threatening you with a knife.)- hey gimme all your money!
You- before you kill me, wait till I get my gun out of my gun case, it will just take a minute.
- okay I guess.
- (gun is ready) hey you want my money? Want me to waste you right here?!!
- okay I'm sorry! (Runs away)

Knowing Canadians that would actually happen. The victim would also apologize to the robber that he prevented the robbery. They would all apologize to themselves and go on with their lives.

Concert tickets which were actually mailed to me and legit, before i bought them i required him to show me is fingerprint card for his job and work, so i could trust him, i actually paid more for these as the pit tickets were sold out quick and therfore were 99 each instead of 70..

It's a lot of hit and miss with Craigslist but I was able to find a Trek 1.2 road bike, with 700$ worth of upgrades for...well 700$! It was in great condition and a bike brand new with all those components could of easily ran around 1600.
I bought
1. Canon 70-200 f/2.8 - $1475
2. Canon 580EX II flash - $370
3. Canon 1.4X Teleconverter - $200
4. Canon 5D mark III - $3450
5. Canon 40D - $700
6. Rode VideoMic - $100
7. Canon 50mm f/1.4 - $280
Also a bunch of other stuff which I forgot about.

Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820976
Today is exactly 4 weeks since i lost my Nexus 7 16gb in the seatback pocket of a United airlines flight. I honestly thought it was lost forever and that i would never see it again. Spent the 1st 2 weeks checking lookout and trying to locate the device, but it had never connected to it since i lost it. United contacted me last week (3 weeks lost) asking for a description again and address. Well 2 days later they sent me a tracking number without ever calling or confirming it was my N7. I had no idea if they were sending me my tablet, someone elses, or just any tablet at all since they never confirmed anything, especially since they said it was found in Texas. I am glad to say my flawless N7 arrived today and it is in fact my exact N7. The cheap sleeve seem to hold up (was worried it would arrive with a cracked screen).

your entitled to your opinion as am i in thinking your an a-hole. This is now the 2nd thread you have trolled me on. It's simple, if a thread doesn't interest you, you dont have to reply or even read it. The fact you are calling me a liar for no reason is stupid. You have no idea what I have gone through trying to track down the device, how pissed off I was at myself for forgetting it, and the fustration I had trying to deal with United's customer service and lost/found department. I still think there system sucks and i realize how lucky i am to get my N7 back. Also this isnt a tech blog, its a forum. Forums cover a wide range of things including lost or stolen devices. The reason for this is having others help track it down, give advice how to track it, give there experience, or suggestions on what to do next.

Well, judging by his handle, he probably is bipolar and has a serious lack of emotional regulation skills and, likely has a co-morbid personality disorder as well...going purely off the content and tone of his posts, I would make an educated guess it is borderline personality disorder which would explain the piss poor relational skills. Poor guy needs professional help.

At what point does the Nexus 4 launch officially become a failure?

I was disappointed to find the Play store broken and then the Nexus 4 sold out when it reappeared on the day of it's "launch".
Probably not as disappointed as the people who did place an order and then didn't get their phone and are still waiting though.
With no idea of when it's coming back into stock and the busiest shopping day of the year in the US tomorrow, the Nexus 4 is going to lose the traction in the media and minds of the public that it had.
If the rumors about no stock until December are true, a lot of people will buy something else. As it is, there are already new handsets appearing (like the HTC Droid DNA) and if we see similar shortages and a similar clusterf*** on the sales and fulfillment side of things, getting phones before Xmas could well be doubtful, certainly getting a defective phone could mean no chance of a return/replacement if being purchase for a Christmas present.
I had to laugh when many of the Android blogs are leading with a story about the official N4 bumper case... and the comments to those articles are full of anger from Google customers still waiting for the phone, never mind the case.
When do you call this "launch" more of a failure to launch?
As far as I am concerned, it's a FAIL.
I guess it depends on who's looking at it,right?

Yep. Point of view is key. Phone sold out in under an hour due to massive demand? People so eager to get their hands on it they resort to overpriced Ebay and store sales. That's a marketing department's wet dream.

It's easy to sell anything out if you only have a tiny number of them
And with no system for taking orders, no information of when new stock is arriving and in some cases no shipping date for people who did manage to order, I'd say a lot of that demand could trickle away.
They are certainly making Apple look good.
Another useless thread.... It is what it is. Starting another thread isn't going to fix anything.
As far as I'm concerned, this has already been a fail for Google. It is their second time they've failed miserably with the selling of a Nexus device. They just can't seem to learn...

If you can let us know how many Google had for sale that would be nice, as I take it you have the exact stock numbers to back that statement up.
The Nexus 4 is a marketing win for Google and the Android brand. Whether we get to use or like the phone is besides the point. Reviews of the glass sealed phone have been written and published. Done. On to the next Nexus phone for Google.

If you can let us know how many Google had for sale that would be nice, as I take it you have the exact stock numbers to back that statement up.

Why would I need the exact stock numbers? I just stated that when you introduce very few devices into the channel, it's easy to sell out and create the impression of big sales.
Apple have been doing this for years.
Did it take Google by surprise? That a phone they've been pushing... sorry... leaking, for 2 months and got blanket press coverage - which was then sold at an abnormally low price - sold out quickly.
Man, that is such a surprise! And after the Nexus 7 as well!
The big surprise is that 10 days later they still haven't got any more stock and are about to enter the run up to Christmas, with, yes, you guessed it, no stock and no word on when they will have stock.
I recommended the Nexus 4 to three friends, one of whom dropped their iPhone 4 into water at the end of last month and was looking for a replacement. They won't wait for ever and that guy went out and bought an iPhone 4S yesterday.

If you had your device you wouldn't be calling it a fail. Be a good boy and go back to your corner and wait patiently. Like everyone else fyi...this doesn't speed up the process

I have my N4 and the failure began on the 13th when Google didn't ship on a first come basis.
The failure continued with Google's refusal to acknowledge customer's complaints and did not relay correct information to support.
I understand how a big launch works and I understand **** happens, but Google's ignoring of the issues and leaving support to fend for themselves by lying does nothing but harm the reputation of the company and hurts the consumer.
I know I will think twice about ordering from the Play store again, I didn't learn my lesson with the N7.
Love this phone !!!
Only ones that are calling it a fail are ones that didn't get one,and tell the truth ID prob be right there pissed off 2 if i didn't get mine , but as soon as they become available agn those people will be first ones right there buying one . Google didn't fail Google did it exactly like they wanted to , its Google they do what they want

I would be, because as I mentioned above, I recommended this phone to other people.
Almost normal people.
You know - the kind of people who don't sit next to their browser hitting the refresh button 20 times a minute.
It's quite normal to sell out of a new device at launch. It's less normal to then have no stock for 10 days and no information.
(Although I grant you, it's quite normal for Google to not give information).
Sold out. Good phone. Therefore not a failure imo.

Nexus 4 O2 Television competition thread

I though I'd make this page for all of us lucky winners so we can share updates on delivery etc. here instead of the main UK thread.

There may still be some TVs up for grabs if you haven't tweeted yet!
I believe this is the TV mentioned in the T&C: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/lg-32ls575t-full-hd-32-led-tv-13184203-pdt.html
I'll try to keep this first post updated with new information.
Recently users have been reporting calls on their new O2 numbers however O2 have said that all communication regarding the competition will be through twitter and will receive a tweet when the television is on its way. - member ajsuk
Update: around 20 Televisions remaining - competition closed
Update: DM's by O2 indicate a delivery from 10th for some users and 12th for others, majority of people should receive it within that week.

There was a tweet 2 hours ago which received a reply so I'd say your chances are good. you have to make sure you get it in-store and on a pay monthly contract to qualify!
Online and telephone orders don't qualify and I've seen that the tweets are ignored.
update: 22mins actually!
Good idea, will keep other thread clean for people looking to get n4 and will drown once people get their tv's in a few weeks.
Mods, please don't close. This will self destruct in a few weeks

Thanks for the replies fellas. I left o2 just a few weeks ago, but might just do this to get the TV. So if I take the £13.50 tariff I can cancel the bolt on and pay off the contract after I get the TV? I am just sick of waiting on Google, and trying to weigh my options. I appreciate the patience guys!

You sure can, I'd let it run until the TV turns up just in case though. I'm letting mine run for the 2 years though, never know could come in handy from time to time and the priority moments can be quite good sometimes

Yep, @o2 with #lifeisgood at the end and await a reply then hopefully reply back to their direct msg to you with your details. I also got my mobile contract paperwork in the picture, covering up personal details just to make it clear I've signed up to a contract.

I'm a winner, eagerly awaiting my new TV
Had a look on eBay and there isn't any for sale, so I'm not sure how easy it's gonna be to resell, but I'll give it a go anyway. I've got a good TV anyway, so I'm purely involved just to get some cash back on the inflated price for the contract.
My missus got declined a TV. Done everything exactly like me but for some reason the morons said sorry not on this occasion. Bloody knobheads! She promptly returned the N4 to the nearest O2 shop.

the 10% ebay fees is really annoying so I don't think I would sell on ebay. I'm still on the fence on whether to sell it or keep the TV, my current TV is not as good but no one in my family really watches TV except my mum and I know she doesn't care for smart TV lol.

Bah.. caved and though might as well look at the O2 deal, and it finishes on 1st Dec. The chances that I could order a phone on the website and have it in my hand by then seem remote.

Should be pretty straightforward to sell it, it's a fantastic TV after all.
Winner here too
Well that sucks, because none of the local stores have any stock, or, as far as I could ascertain (the staff hadn't heard of the N4 and had to look it up) ever have.
That condition isn't in the T&C..

I created this thread to keep all shipping questions, comments, cries, and black eye incidents in one place, and one place only.
Feel free to joke around because we all know, this wait will feel like forever.
I ordered a Nexus 7 through the Playstore only to find out my local Sam's Club had them in stock the day prior to my device shipping. I canceled my order then hopped to the store and got one after begging an employee to check their stock for this tablet.
Thanks Google!

Good idea. Joke around eh?
A stormtrooper and a redshirt get into a fight, the stormtrooper misses every shot and the redshirt dies anyway.
Nice.
Who knows.
Maybe they learned their lesson from last time, won't host the ordering server on a single rack and will have decent stock.
HEHEHEHEHE.
NOPE.
I remember last year when the Nexus 4 launched, I waited until 2am waiting for it to go live then woke up late and still ended up getting one somehow. Hopefully, supply will be far better than it was at launch this time.

What is wrong with google, they may start to accept pre-orders to reduce load of the server and not make people suffer by not sleeping
No that makes too much sense to accept preorders and kills the feeding frenzy publicity. The fact you couldn't get one stoked the demand for the Nexus 4.

And you don't know much about supply and demand do you.
People pre-order things way before stuff is even manufactured, CD's / kick starter projects / cars e.c.t
Its as good as announced now what ever Google says about it won't make any differance now.
Pre-orders are used to gauge demand by many companies, its amazing that Google have not got it up yet, seems they have not learnt fully from the nexus 4 issues.
Lots of stock is great but a sudden release will cause havock with servers e.c.t also they should clamp down on outlets selling them much higher than googles rrp.

Key word: MANUFACTURED. The Nexus 5 has not been announced by Google or LG. I know what pre-orders are. But how do you pre-order something that hasn't been announced? You pre-order things that a company tells you it is going to make, but it either hasn't yet made it or hasn't yet released it to the general public for sale. Everything we know about the Nexus 5 comes from third-party sources. Until Google or LG announce the phone, either in an official announcement or an indirect announcement by just placing it on sale, there is nothing to pre-order.
I'm away from my home in Australia for a while. Is there any way I could access the Australia Play Store to order the Nexus 5 when it launches? I've tried several VPN services but nothing works! Help!!

According to Nexus 4 Wiki and a user in another thread here, the Nexus 4 was released in the Australian play store the same day as the US.

Have you tried putting in your Australian SIM card? In a lot of cases, that determines which Play Store you get access to. If I access the Play Store from Canada on my T-Mobile phone that has a T-Mobile SIM in it, I still get the U.S. Play Store.
