[List][bootanimation] Custom Bootanimations - HTC Desire C

1st let me tell you what and all required for a custom bootanimation.
You must have a ROOTED device.
A root file manager such as ROOT EXPLORER
Custom bootanimation of your choice
15-20 minutes of time
and importantly Patience
if you have all these then proceed to the next step
Download any of you favorite Bootanimation from here or from any other thread/site
How to add:
You need root.
If you need the stock bootanimation then make a back up of that using RootExplorer
Copy the bootanimation to your SD Card.
Rename to bootanimation.zip -If the zipfile has any other name plz rename it to "bootanimation.zip" , without quotes
With root explorer or any other app that allows you to get to /system/media
Copy the bootanimation .zip into /system/media and replace it with the stock one (remember to mount R/W)
For HTC phones if you don't have system/media Using root explorer copy the bootanimation.zip to /data/local
And Finally set permissions to rw--r--r--
Should Look something like this
x x -
x - -
x - -
All Bootanimations are of 320x480 size ,

deadmau5 Bootanimation
Hi guys
A friend of mine also has a Desire C and he asked me to resize >this< deadmau5 bootanimation Not quite sure if the original one works - anyways here is the resized 320x480px version which works flawlessly
The boot animation looks like >this<. The GIF-animation might be a little laggy the first time but I can confirm that it's working smooth on your device (30 fps).
Installation instructions:
Download this this and place it on your SD card.
Replace your bootanimation with the downloaded file.
Set permissions to 644 | rw-r--r-- [If you don't know how it's working just enter CWM and choose "advanced > fix permissions" <- I think you can skip this step at all. But doing it won't hurt anything
Reboot and have fun!
Credits go to >Frigorio< for converting the .swf file into seperate frames. Thanks!
...back to the S2 forums now I hope you enjoy it!
EDIT: If you have problems downloading or questions regarding bootanimations or stuff.. just ask I subscribed to this thread so I'll stay informed what's going on here

Epic! I'm a big deadmau5 fan and I like it
Sent from my HTC Desire C

Maybe I'll start creating a few ones I realized that it's really not that complicated and Adobes Photoshop offers some handy tools :b Perhaps you guys will see more in the near future

You could create a red one (like the one on the raise your weapon single) and a AOSP blue one

Why don't you create your own thread with your own animations?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

Because...
1) I didn't have time yet.
2) I'm still not sure if I can take the time to create animations on a regular basis.
EDIT: 3) I don't even own a hTC Desire C - I just create those for fun :b
But trust me. As soon as I've got more than a bunch of them, I'll create a thread
By the way.. I added two colors (@RestlessScreams ). Here are the three available colours:

[Maybe some of them aren't uploaded yet. Check again in a few minutes if the zip doesn't appear in it's folder ]
Installation instructions are posted above..

Only one "n00b" question:
Put on HTC and replace original? Or flash as .zip?
I think is replace because I opened the .zip, but I´m not secure.
And really thanks for the bootanimations :'D

The Root File Explorer Method
This is, by a wide margin, the simplest method and in no way requires a computer. You can download the bootscreen directly to your phone and move it where you need it all on-device.
1. Install The App
Download and install one of the above mentioned root file explorers (Root Explorer, SU File Manager, ES File Explorer) or any other of your choosing. It just has to get root access.
2. Download your boot animation.
I mean...yeah. That's the point, right?
3. Backup (OPTIONAL)
You can either copy the original bootscreen and paste it on your sdcard/computer, or you can rename it bootanimation.bak and leave it in the original directory for safe keeping.
4. Copy/move
Copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media
5. Change attribute to Rw-r-r
6. Reboot. Enjoy.

how did you make a boot animation using videos? I really don't have the time to create something frame by frame. it'll be a headache. like for example creating a matrix bootanimation. AE can make sequence JPGs right? would that work?

1. Open new sequence and make sure its 480x800 pixel in after effect
2. Import your movie file and put it in your sequence
3. Now you can edit, enhance color, put any text, added same effects, or what ever you wanted to dos
4. Don, t make your sequence too long. For me maximum 5seconds
5. Go to add to render queu
6. Choose jpg/png sequence, if png make sure it's 8 or 16 bit. Choose 15 fps to make your filemore light in size
7. Then its time to create your bootanimation files...
Here's a good tutorial to make bootanimation

You might want to try the applications I mentioned above. The bootanimation creator and bootanimation previewer.
if you're using CyanogenMod ROM, it's very recommended to try it first before really using it. You can try it via CyanogenMod Settings -> interface -> on boot animation choose preview then choose the bootanimation zip file.
if you want to do this manually, check this link. You would understand about the desc.txt. This is a vital part of the boot animation.

you can go to cyanogenmod settings -> interface -> look at boot animation tag -> preview. then you choose the bootanimation (the zip file) to see the preview. if the preview goes well, then you tap on 'Choose' and choose the bootanimation (the zip file).

You just need root explorer (must rooted first).
Go to /system/media. you'll find 'bootanimation.zip'. Make a backup of this file if you want.
Download the bootanimation you like, and rename the zip file to 'bootanimation.zip'.
Copy the new bootanimation.zip to /system/media. don't forget to mount r/w so you can change system folder.
Now, reboot. You'll see the new bootanimation.

I've found that changing bootanimation on stock ROM kinda tricky.
but I found the trick, do it with your own risk.
try this:
1. Rename the downloaded file to 'bootanimation.zip'
2. Put on your SD Card
3. Open Root Explore go to system/bin
4. Find samsungloop, then move them to another folder
5. Copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media
6. In folder /system/media rename all files *.qmg to *.qm (bootsamsung.qmg & bootsamsungloop.qmg)
7. Reboot

[Boot Animations] Share your boot animations [480x800]

Hi all,
I’ve taken a lot from this forum recently, and now I would like to give a little something back...
I’m no developer, but I’ve been playing with the boot animation and I’ve finally worked out how to make my own. So I’d like to share my first attempt with you all and welcome your comments.
Requirements - rooted phone, a root file explorer with write permission.
Download your desired bootanimation.zip and save it on your phone SD card where you can find it again.
Use your favourite root explorer to copy and paste it over your current bootanimation.zip (my location for this is at /data/local in phone storage, not SD card).
The next time you reboot your device, you should see it after the initial Splash Screen!
If you want to make your own boot animation but don’t know how to, then I used the guide as found HERE.
But please note, for the Incredible S you should set the resolution to 480 x 800 in the .txt file, and save the images as 480 x 800, 24 bit, .png.
Here's my first bootanimation.zip, it is ARHD ROM themed, I hope you like it:

PS: There doesn’t seem to be a thread in the Incredible S ‘Themes & Apps’ forum to ‘Share your Boot Animations’, just a couple of independent ones on a specific topic.
If you want to post your own designed or 'borrowed' boot animations in this thread, I don’t mind at all (I would advise to credit others if it's not yours). All will be in one place, and easy to find again. I won’t see it as hijacking my thread!
.
Here's another Boot Animation for you, based around the standard HTC one.
I've added 'dropping in' letters at the start, and the droid on a skateboard afterwards.
This isn't ROM specific, it's in a generic HTC style.
I hope you like it!
Here's a couple of shots of the boot-up:
The bootanimation.zip file is attached to this post. See post number 1 (above) for what to do with it.
Comments welcome...
Cheers,
nniicckkss
(I'm not taking credit for creating the graphics in this, I just put them together in the animation to share with everyone.)

I can't tell on my mobile, I'll need to take a look on my laptop, but initially after unzipping your .zip file (original size 5mb), I noticed each image was >1mb each, so something doesn't add up.
Did you compress the .zip or zip as 'store only'?

You can't compress the .zip, it won't work...
I used winrar and saved it as a store only .zip.
The .zip size is something you'll have to live with when you start using fancy graphics in each frame.
My first one is >11mb, but my second one which has more frames is just a fraction of the size due to less complexed graphics.
Regarding a program, I don't know, sorry.
But I don't think you need it, you just need to sort out your .zip method.

JellyBean Themed Boot Animation (480 x 800)
Hi all,
JellyBean here, JellyBean there - here's a JellyBean boot animation I'd like to share!
Download link - fast version (approx. 17.5 MB): http://db.tt/njbYmy9k
Download link - slow version (approx. 13 MB): http://db.tt/E31MzY3R
(I like the slow version best)
Don't unzip it or flash it, just save it over your existing boot animation using your favourite root explorer app.
Enjoy!
Here's a preview screen-shot (click to enlarge):
Feedback always welcome.
(Please thank me if you use it, I'd like to see if I its worth me spending time on these in future!!)
This is what im waiting for......thanks....
Blue Clouds Bootanimation & Splash Screen
I made this for me, thought I'd share it with you all as I quite like it:
Bootanimation
Looks like this:
Download the attached bootanimation.zip, don't unzip it. Install as previously mentioned in this thread (change zip filename if you need to, ROM depending).
Splash Screen (the still image before the bootanimation)
Looks Like this, matches the above bootanimation:
For S-OFF only.
And you must unzip this one first, get the 'splash1.img' file from the attached .zip and place it in your adb/fastboot tools folder on your PC.
Then go to CMD prompt on your PC and set your CD to the tools folder.
Set your phone in USB bootloader mode, then type in "fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img" to flash it to your phone.
Job done - reboot to see it appear before the bootanimation.
If you want to revert back to stock, download, unzip and flash the file from within 'ORIGINAL_HTC_SPLASH.zip', as attached. It looks like this:
I hope you like them!

EDIT 3: SUPPORT FOR LOLLIPOP ADDED . NOT TESTED PERSONALLY BUT USERS CLAIMING IT WORKS THANKS TO LuanTeles !!!

Why use Video instead of set of pics?
Ans.
1. It will take less space in /system.
2. This can play the animation with steady fps doesn't matter the power of cpu. (Old bootanimations slow down the animation some times if cpu is not able to handle the animation)
3. At the End we can put any awesome video we like as bootanimation . f*ck yeah!
Requirements :
1. Rooted Phone
2. Android 4.4.x or 5.0.x(still need testing)
Procedure :
1(a). Download this bootanimation file for kitkat .
Code:
[URL="http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/26992022/file.html
"]Zippyshare[/URL]
[URL="http://www.mediafire.com/download/mx8g6zfukfb6fql/bootanimation"]Mediafire[/URL]
[URL="https://www.dropbox.com/s/0t7lpyrsfys5t1o/bootanimation?dl=0"]Dropbox (Thanks to danielbe)[/URL]
1(b). Download this bootanimation file for lollipop
Code:
[URL="http://goo.gl/CFPYAZ"]Google Drive (thanks to LuanTeles)[/URL]
2. Replace it with your bootanimation file from /system/bin.
3. Set 755(octal) permission (i.e rwx-rx-rx) to bootanimation file.
4. Download attached bootanimation.zip and modify it with your mp4 videos
Code:
[B]Notice :[/B] Below attached bootanimation.zip is extracted from Moto E device.
It contains 2 mp4 files inside instead of 2 folder full with pics.
One mp4 is for main bootanimation and second mp4 video is for looping.
After using this method old type bootanimation may not work so make backup of your phone's bootanimation file and bootanimation zip.
5. At last push the modified bootanimation.zip in /system/media and overwrite and set 644(octal) permission (i.e rw-r-r) permission.

YOU CAN ALSO JUST USE FOLLOWING ATTACHED BOOTANIMATION.ZIP IF YOU WANT MOTO E/G BOOTANIMATION. :victory:

You did everything correctly? like replacing the bootanimation file in /system/bin
The new bootanimation file is 25.27 KB (25872 Bytes) in size.
Check if it is properly replaced
and did you set the permission properly?
And how you know it didnt worked i mean what was the result?

Everything was replaced that needed to be replaced and permissions were set. But no video boot animation..or any boot animation at all. All I get is a blank screen while Android loads up.
I'm getting a different size for the bootanimation file. I've downloaded it again and it's definitely 37.4 KB, not 25.27....

Easy enough to do..
Downloaded the new file, stuck into the flashable zip I made, flashed and....now my Sony phone is advertising Motorola! Very nice! :highfive:
There's about a second of delay before the video loads and starts playing but that may have been my imagination. Hardly an issue anyway.
Now I just need to find a suitable video I can use. Hmm....
My flashable zip is attached. It uses the Universal Flashing Tool, so it makes a flashable backup file of the files it replaces. However, the UFT doesn't work on every rom...
So I've attached a 'standard' flashable zip as well.
I've made a folder on my Mediafire account with some flashable zips for this. Have a look at my post later in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56960679&postcount=91
So it worked . Glad to know. Thanks to inform my mistake
And please share your bootanimations you made here too. I will also want to try your bootanimations

works great on cm11 (liquid smooth) on the same htc evo v though.
Thanks for sharing!
Does not work on HTC M7 Lollipop CM12. Can you make a special "bootanimation" file for lp?
Actually mine has a few seconds before it comes up. I did the droid ome and all i got was the second mp4 video amd did not see the first mp4. Any idea? I also noticed that earlier as well. Any ideas? Sony xperia z ultra.

• Android 5.0 Warning: If you're running a 5.0/5.0.1 ROM, bootanimations longer than 30 frames will cause you to bootloop because of the memory bug in Lollipop. But you can TRY and DOWNLOAD this bootanimation as it works smoothly in lollipop ROMs. •
• Samsung Warning: If you're running a Touchwiz based ROM none of these bootanimtions will work for you. Samsung uses their own bootanimation format and your phone will bootloop if you install one of these. •
• Skinned ROMs Warning: If you're using a custom skinned ROM like Sense/Blur/LG/ etc. there's a high chance you might bootloop. Make a nandroid backup before proceeding. •

You have done something wrong.
#PLEASE READ THE FULL POST IN THE MAIN THREAD#
First of all you should have root access and ES file explorer intalled.
Then open es file explorer and grant the root permission. Then navigate to "device/system/media" there you will find your default bootanimation, just rename it to "bootanimation.zip.bak" and save it.
Now download the black edition of google pixel bootanimation. After downloading, just copy the file to "device/system/media" and paste it. Now rename it as "bootanimation.zip" and then save it. Now long press the file and then select more option and then select properties, and there set the permission to -rw-r-r, and save it.
Now you are all set to enjoy this bootanimation.
You are facing problem because, you have not renamed your default bootanimation to "bootanimation.zip.bak".
Also you have not changed the name of downloaded bootanimation with " bootanimation.zip" and also you have not set the permission to -rw-r-r.

Please download it again and follow the instructions as told. There is nothing wrong with that bootanimation.
I know how the lineage bootanimation is look like. These is not that file. Maybe you have conflicted these both files together. Please double check and then report about any issues.
