*Poetic Slimbook Leather Case for the Google Nexus 10 - Nexus 10 Accessories

I ordered it the day it came out. Took about a week to arrive. So I guess I was the first person to get one so here are some pics and a video.

Seems to be on Amazon only.

Is it worth the $8? Seems cheap for such a nice product. What do you think of the build quality? Also, it still says not available until the 10th, so how'd you get it already?

YES YES! In fact, it is the best and cheapest I'VE ever had. It feels really good and make your Nexus 10 very secured. + it has a mini strap so you can put it in your hands.

Yup! It feels really good. It looks like it's a real leather(maybe not but it feels like it).

I just got mine today. It feels very good. My only serious objection is that if I hold it vertically in one hand, using the elastic strap, the cover flops awkwardly, making it hard to hold. I haven't figured out what to do about that.... Change that: if I use the closing elastic to stabilize the cover, it feels fine.

I love my poetic case for my nexus 7, will try this one. Poetic is a great company, they sent me an upgrade after they realized a mistake in the 1st and 2nsd generation case.

I might get one of these for my nexus 7 and nexus 10, ordered one for my nexus 4 which is not here and neither is my nexus 4.

I just got mine as well. It fits beautifully and actually looks nice as well. They paid attention to details on this one. I'm so glad I can stop using my old transformer TF101 case now!

Well thanks for the info . but your video only shows the fact that the cover has magnets. Would have been nice to see how it folds up or maybe the other side of the case.
I ordered the bison case and I have yet to see it and it said that it shipped a week ago.
I might have to order this one.

Mine came yesterday. For the $5.00 w/ free shipping I paid, I can't complain too much (and its miles better than having no case at all). But its not quite what I wanted.
Its a bit too thick. Its noticeably thicker than the casecrown case I had for my last tablet (probably due to the pouches and that weird textured base thing in the narrow section of the cover flap (what the hell is that for?)
Also, while the upright stand position works well, the other stand position is a bit too low an angle for my taste, and its a bit awkward getting it in to that position and getting it to stay that way. I found that I can put a folded up playing card in it to get the angle where I want it, bit this just makes it even more awkward to set up.
What I really want is a case just like I had on my previous tablet (see attached image). Notice the middle stand position in the lower left corner of that pic. That's by far, the position I use the most. And getting it into that position is very quick and easy. Unfortunately, none of the "tri-fold" style cases seem to support that position any more. They're all missing the tab on the back that keeps the flap from sliding out of place.

I got this Poetic, I don't think its the same one, but I am VERY pleased with it, and it only cost $10, worth every penny. And if you have Amazon Prime it got here < 24 hours after I ordered it for only $4 extra shipping lol...The case is actually nicely made, the viewing angles that are available for this case are great (I study quite a bit and have used it for some long term viewing) I would recommend it.

I'm waiting for the Poetic Slimline one to come out. Basically is a feather style thin case with smart cover. I have one for my Nexus 7 and absolutely love it.

Just got my Slimbook in today. Seems pretty nice for the $4.95 that I spent on it. It can stand it up for watching videos on my desk and it has an auto wake/sleep feature. That is all I wanted + having the leather feel.

I went through the customer's review of the slimline version and I was quite suprise about the quality of the product.
Anyone can confirm or denied those review?

This question is subjective. Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I am sure you have seen the myriad of threads and posts about cases. Have you seen them?
Is this your first tablet? If not did you use a case with your previous one? And were you happy with it?
Are you curious about a certain case? What makes you ask the question, really...I mean your answer is out there. In other words, the answer you seek is the one you answer yourself.

This thing is my favorite, personally. It's cheap. Durable as hell. Wakes and puts the device to sleep with the flap. Can be turned into a stand, and it don't look half bad. It's all your choice, but I would look at this one if I was you.

Too soon to call it bro, it also depends on your price limit.
I'd say a few weeks and you'll have more formidable options.

Wait, what case is this?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Soooo many case threads... maybe there should be a "which case is worst" thread. Don't like the one I bought on Ebay here. The fit in the portrait direction is not great, slides up and down about .25", so the camera gets covered easily. Also has no hole for the side mic, so mic pick up is questionable. Also the thickness of leather prevents a finger slide right to the edge of the screen. No auto-off. I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it to anyone.
It absolutely depends on whether a case offers functions or features that would give you more opportunity to use your tablet.
I typically get cases for my devices so that I am not as concerned about breaking it while out and about. I am also often in situations where it is best to be discreet about using an electronic device.
Something else to consider is how the case will impair the experience of using your device as opposed to having no case on it. One of my biggest gripes with cases in general for touchscreen devices is how many of them encroach on the screen surface, so I go for the usually higher cost cases that put more thought into how the device is secured into the case without putting anything on the screen surface. When I say that they encroach on the screen surface, I do not necessarily mean that they hinder viewing, but that they cover the unused edges of the screen, and that happens to be where I prefer to grip with my thumb, and I prefer the feel of the glass under my thumb rather than leather, cloth, microsuede or whatever else.
Those are just my personal rules when hunting for cases for my devices.
This case almost makes it, if only the back was black, and that stand popped off.

I have that case...and the revision of it.
First case that I received had a strong magnet causing my Nexus 7 to go to sleep mode when the front cover is folded to the back of the case.
The second cover that I received today had no magnet (or a weaker magnet). The smart cover sleep/awake function is nonexistent.
Also the stylus holder is blocking the volume buttons. This issue actually is for both versions of the case.
Despite the lack of the smart cover function, I'm going to switch between the latest revision of the hardback case that I just got today and the official Google case....for now.

It does, but the Dodo is way more expensive and only available in 4 colors. Portenzo has a better reputation, less expensive and way more colors to chose from. Looks like I am buying another Portenzo today!
I will post pics when I get it.
Was liking it until I saw the adhesive approach to securing the device. Like everything else about it - moleskine type design, quality materials.
Anyone have any experience with the sticky pads?
Do they leave any residue if you remove your device?
I'm assuming they are a one time use as well?

If it's anything like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008A1XN28/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Then the "sticky" is extremely sticky!
Enough so that when I tried to remove the N7, the back cover came off the tablet!
I don't mean that in some awful "it broke!" way...it's just that the adhesive is stronger than the tablet's back cover retainers.
So if you were scared to pry open your N7 with a screwdriver...this is an alternate way to open it.
But if you're careful and go slow, the tablet comes off and there is no residue.
The adhesive can be wiped down with water and when it dries, it's good to go!
I tested the case on my N7, then put my Galaxy Tab 2 7" in it, then back to the N7.
Since the Portenzo costs more than twice as much...I'd hope their adhesive is just as good if not better to work with than the $9 case!
Ordered mine yesterday in firetruck red! Pretty excited about this. I was looking for something classy but with thin profile so Bookcase came close but this hardbook was a better fit for my needs.
Does anyone now how long it takes for them to ship? Happy Friday all
I wonder how the quality compares to the dodocase.

I have the casemate tuxedo for the kindle fire using the sticky pad. It's re-usable and does not leave a residue. I sent my first kindle back and got a replacement from Amazon, no issues re-applying the pad on the replacement, just as sticky as the first time.
cant make it stand though, so a big nono for me
was going to wait till i got home to order but byt he time i did the price was back up to 39.99 :crying:
Looks like a good alternative to the Dodocase! I managed to place an order before the sale ended too. At $19.99, it was too good of a deal to pass up.

FlyGrip a necessity?

I am surprised no one has posted about this as of yet.
QBKing77's youtube channel has a video review of this "contraption".
Currently there is a deal where you get a free TPU case (i think thats what it is called) with the purchase of a $30 FlyGrip.
He also mentions how you get a discount by using his name at the checkout.
I am almost convinced to get one, but would like your input on this.

I've been using it for about a week now, and haven't regretted that decision. It's definitely a must if you're using your N2 a lot with single hand. I'm still waiting for Aduro case to release their awesome kickstand case that they had for the GSIII:

I've been on the fence with this since i saw a video review of these a few weeks ago. I am horrible about ordering things online. I search the heck out of them and then never buy anything. I really like to see things in person.
I really like the idea though. Seems like it would really make the phone more comfortable for me. I have the flip cover and i usually have one finger between it and the back of my phone which gives me a pretty secure grip but after a few minutes my poor finger starts to feel smashed back there.
Maybe i should just break down and go for it. I could use the free case for testing the mod for using a tpu case with the flip cover.
So indecisive....

I got one. The guy is real easy to deal with. I had to swap mine from white to black since Tmobile had no white Note2s. He did it without issue. I carried my phone for a week w/o the clip and now about a week with the clip. I find its a nice bonus. I mostly use it when I'm relaxing and holding the phone at odd angles. Its great for that, very secure. In day to day use I don't really use it since my TPU case has really good grip already.
I had my phone for almost a week before I got my flygrip. In my opinion it makes the phone much easier to use one handed. I have maybe slightly above average hands and I can reach the whole screen easier with it. The stand feature is very nice too. I have mine on a body glove and feel extremely confident I have a very secure grip on my phone when using it. Weird angle gripping is much easier as well. I would recommend one for the GNII 100%

What time curious about is how easy it is to transfer between cases or devices. I saw a video of somebody removing the FlyGrip and it looked to be some super adhesive material.
How resuable is it exactly?
Edit: Took a closer look and looks like you could grab a pack of 3 replacement adhesives. Was really excited for it despite the price since you could say it's justified with the TPU case throw in....but unfortunately the shipping code "QBKING77" is limited only to the States. Really disappointed since I'll have to pass just based on the shipping costs.

I had one on my Sensation, and am awaiting new adhesive, but I LOVE my Flygrip. Thing is simply amazing. I didn't think that I would get 30 bucks worth out of thin cheap plastic, but I've been sorely tempted to pickup a second one for my tablet. Also, they have pretty good customer support, I've called three times, and it's always the same guy that answers. I actually prefer this to the kickstand cases because of the one handed grip support. I can't text on my bike without it, especially with this phone. I'll upload a couple pictures as soon as I get my sticky backs

I just took mine off of my Sensation, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It took some forcing to actually begin to remove it, as it is really pretty damn strong, but once I got it separated from the old case it was simple enough to just rub the remaining residue away. It does leave a very clean rectangle on whatever case you put it on after removal lol.

So emailed FlyGrip with some questions. Response was very quick, not to mention a nice surprise with the great customer service!
" .... Additional tape provided”, are there extra adhesive tapes in each FlyGrip package? Or that we would have to buy the pack of 3 if we were interested in replacements?

Flygrip comes with (1) extra adhesive. So after you remove it, you can put the new adhesive on.* "Some" people try using the existing adhesive.* It depends on how sticky it still is.* We recommend to use a new one, but sometimes the adhesive is sticky enough to reuse.* We sell (3) packs for $2.47.

Also, a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if you do happen to have any promotions going on for international shipping (namely to Canada) as the FlyGrip was something I was immediately excited for, only to see the cost of shipping.

Love my FlyGrip. I enjoy knowing I'm not going to drop the phone, but I really purchased it because I'm an ex-EVO user and knew I'd miss the kickstand. I use it as a kickstand whenever the phone isn't in my pocket. Right now I'm using the free case that was included, but I'll take it off in a few weeks. I usually don't go for bold colors, but got the blue kickstand and a royal blue case. Nice looking.
He has lots of videos on the site to help with making a decision. Oh, no, it doesn't add bulk, it's only 1/4" deep. USA made and the packaging is very good looking, would make a great gift.
I think it's a smarter decision to look at these.

Thank you so much!

Sorry I dont have time for a review I am slammed at work. I have the commuter it came yesterday. It is awesome. In my opinion a typical user would not need the Defender and this is PLEANTY fine. It's great. Solid. Rubber lip around front so I can put it face down and not care. Buttons are not hard to push. It gives my GN2 a very solid feel like you can toss it around or toss it on the nightstant (not that we would... but we could with no worries). Pretty easy to put it on and take it off too but just hard enough that the phone aint coming out - no way.
I have 3 other cases. A really thin (TPU is it?) case that is the BARE minimum one can do. I love it but phone is almost naked. I would wear that case in a suit or a tux if packing the phone in the suit or tux pocket. So Ill hang onto that. I also have the Verizon case that has a kickstand built in. I can see using that if going somewhere and I know ill be watching a game at the restaurant, etc. But for a daily solid everyday case, 100% the commuter is your case.
The 4th case is the Body Glove case people were talking about - but not the cool one - the one with the smooth black square. I gotta sell that or give that to someone Ill never use it with the 3 I have now. It's not even taken out of the box lol.
Ill be interested to see the other posts tomorrow when you guys get it. I love it.

My concerns is that the back and side don't seem grippy enough. I love the textured polycarbonate back of Case-Mate's Tough Case because it provides grip. How's the Commuter's back or grippiness?
Can somone post a link to a site that currently sells an otter box for the GN2? I cant seem to find one anywhere with an order now tab.....

They are sold out of the black one and the white and gray one though. You can still order it and they will send it too you when in stock.

Here is a video review for the Commuter on the Note 1. It should be similar to the Note 2.

I just order me a black Commuter case last week on Friday, first they sent me an email talking about they won't charge my account til my order has been processed, then they send me a Invoice stating my account has charged along with a tracking number. I don't know if this means my stuff has shipped or not? Im thinking they have not shipped it yet, they just processed my order (basically took my order) without having a product. I am going to cancel my order and try a similar case until they get the black Commuters back in.

Yeah mine is Fedex too, but have they actually shipped it yet? No emails say item has been shipped. According to my tracking number mine it is in Denver CO.

I wouldn't worry unless its past the date it says its gonna be delivered.
There is a review and photos of the Commuter on the Android Forums site.
It looks brilliant - really sturdy

I actually got my GN2 Commuter case 2 days ago and I am returning it. Great case, very solid feel and build. Buttons on the bottom are easy to access, volume and power are easy to press, etc. The reason I am returning is for me it added too much bulk and weight to an already big phone. I haven't shipped it out yet and won't get a chance until Saturday by then the other case I ordered will arrive tomorrow and I can decide which I really want to keep.
For those who already have the case, how do you feel about its weight and additional thickness?

I had ordered mine last Friday as well, it shipped out on Saturday and arrived on Tuesday. I never got an email saying it shipped, but when I checked my order status it said processing and had a tracking # from Fed Ex. It arrived on Tuesday. Sadly I am going to send it back, I just feel its too bulky, though the replacement case I ordered won't be here until tomorrow so I won't return until Saturday once I decide which case I am keeping.
The pita about case shopping is having to buy and possibly return or buy many to get the right one. OtterBox is rock solid and worth the price but I need some level of grip on the case so it doesn't slip out of my hands.

Poetic Slimline

New case arrived today...very well designed. Smart cover works perfectly!

I'm not being a smartass. There's just no good reason to clutter up the topic list with multiple threads on the exact same topic.

Actually, why not keep the thread and post some pictures in OP.
I'm really annoyed cause I've had this on pre order for over a month, then the day after I get confirmation that it's shipped, I find a massive chip in the finish on the top front of the tablet,
I'd have paid good money for an official case on day one and this happens just really pushes my buttons.

The link I posted has several pics...as for a mini review: it just as advertised, nothing special but well worth the price Amazon is asking. Actually I got mine for $9.99 by ordering almost a month ago.
It only has one viewing angle supported by the flap but it works perfectly for my needs. It is very thin, barely adds any additional thicknesses/weight to the tab.
If you only use it around the house it is perfect. I would not recommend for heavy use outside the house. I don't think it would hold up well to being thrown in a bag, briefcase, etc...

Best case i ever had.......
Got mine in today. Really loving it, fits really well and the flap stand is at a pretty good angle for me personally. Like the build quality and I actually think it made it more comfortable to hold.

Got mine a few days ago and I like it. It is a snug fit but I plan on keeping it in the case. I think the viewing angle when propped up is fine but would be nice if you could prop it up at a couple different angles. Came with a small scratch on the back but not worth returning it. I notice other folks had posted about little scratches as well so maybe Poetic should check them more closely before shipping. Anyway, for the money it's definitely a great case! I'll be keeping mine.

Perfect fit
Had it for a over a week. Exactly what we needed. I could see using a sleeve for travel but this is perfect for around the house & in the car.
The Nexus 10 is my first tablet so I really appreciate the auto screen control with the cover.
If you want a small cover/case, this is it.

I second this. A good case, with a scratch on the back - but nothing major. I also wish it would 'stand up' properly, but I'm happy overall...
