A very good review about the Otterbox defender case (useful to decide whether your priority is to protect the phone from all kind of drops or just to add some protection without much bulk) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_c0tWkBhDA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I wonder when this will be available in stock. Really need one for my precious.

Hi
Thanks for posting pics.
I am now thinking of getting this case, but I have some questions.
It looks really thick, is the thickness of the Note 2 doubled or less than doubled?
How is the grip ? does it slip off your hands easily?
thanks

Hi,
Well sir, as i said in the op, i don't really own one i hope that i can get one someday ^_^
This case as lots of people noticed, is less bulkier than the defender case from the same manufacturer, and it delivers almost the same protection. The main difference you'll notice is a couple of millimeters less and no plastic screen protector (a simple screen protector is supplied instead)
I don't really know how much is the thickness after applying it, but it shouldn't bother you if you are planning to protect your phone.
Best regards
Sifou
Using a Samsung N7100

I also ordered it in glacier color.

Just got mine, great so far. Doest add that much bulk surpringly. The rubber part is much better than previous models, doesn't pick up lint as much. Very glad I got it!

I also have the commuter and find protection wise it is pretty good, however I find the outer part abit on the slippery side, and the buttons abit harder to press. I have owned a Ballistic SG for my older SG2X which I found offered good protection as well, but abit less slippery and buttons were easier to press, but did not offer port closures.
Does anyone who currently owned/tried both the commuter and ballistic case for the note 2 care to comment if the Ballistic offers similar protection to the Note 2 as well as easier to press buttons?
I am considering switching if the Ballistic offered similar/better shell protection with easier to press button... or I may add a flygrip to the commuter (not sure if it would attach well to the commuter.... has anyone added anything to their commuter to make it less slippery?).... or some other similar alternative case you'd recommend?

The slippy part is the only thing I don't like about the Commuter for the Note 2 bc it also has rounded edges so makes it even worse. I am considering black skate tape which might do the job or this other grip product designed for cellphones (forgot the name so have to dig).
Anyone do any type of MODs on their Commuter? I would be interested in hearing what.

I was thinking about grip earlier today for mine. I think grip tape would be easy but alittle rough for my liking. Maybe some kind of non slip stickers like the ones you can put on your dash to prevent slip. I maybe even the rubber of a ping pong paddle.?

I have the Commuter series case for my Note II and am actually very happy with it. I've owned Commuter cases for both the GALAXY S III and the GALAXY S II LTE (Skyrocket) in the past, and this is by far my favorite design. Unlike some of the Commuter cases, this one doesn't make the buttons hard to press at all -- they retain their tactile feedback and make a resounding click when pressed which is nice, and it's pretty easy to install and remove (so if you're a flash-a-holic and pull your battery or whatnot, it's not a complex procedure to pull off).
The silicone material feels different too -- almost has a slight leather texture to it -- but lint doesn't stick to it and if dirt or dust gets on it, it's a lot easier to clean off.

Mine arrived today.. too bad my phone glass broke yesterday, yeah.. im not kidding.
Ill change it tomorrow and it will cost 290$ with service included. This time with the case and screen protector from otterbox

yah I agree with you this is way easier to take off and put on better then the s3 ones I love mine I have the black one with my gray note 2

I had mine for about a week now. Can you guys see if your case feels loose at the corner near the volume buttons? Mine just doesn't seem to fit tight enough.

I like how you don't have to try to put the phone and silicone in the hard plastic a certain way or pull on the plastic in order for it to line up 100% correctly; with the S III I found that the power button was pretty hard to press and had almost no feedback to it (same thing on the S II Skyrocket case as well, but that's to be expected since they used almost the same design case wise).

I received the Commuter case today and my silcone also feels loose around the volume button area. It is also slightly loose above the the power button area. I don't think it is down to the inner silcone layer being too big or loose, rather the fact that the hard outer case shell doesn't wrap around on that part. This means the silcone has no support unlike the ends of the case where the outer shell wraps around and offers support and keeps it tight.. A bad design really.

My case is also as you say loose since the outer shell doesn't support the silicon there but this isn't really a problem for me. Actually I believe that this is by far the best case so I also ordered a spare one.

The silicon on top of the power button is a little lose as well. I tried the hair dryer trick to form it to place which made it fit a little tighter.

I had one last week but returned it within 24 hours. Too bulky, also more slippery than the original Samsung TPU case. I hope they change the grip on the back. Also the back does not really need to be so thick. I want a little more thickness to the bottom and top, because these are the areas than hit the ground first most of the time when the phone is dropped. The screen protector is not that good either. Not worth £30 that I paid for it.
edit:
the bottom flap also is very stiff and it pushes the usb connetor when it's plugged.

I kind of wish they went with a square design instead of rounded edges, would probably help the grip on the back too :crying:

Review: Rearth Ringke Case (Pictures Galore!!!)

Just got my Rearth Ringke case for the Nexus S.
Aqua Black in color which is transparent.
Background: I purchased the Best Buy Platinum Series Combo Case (rebranded Seidio Innocase Surface) when I first bought my Nexus S on release date Dec. 16, 2010.
Unfortunately because of the curvature of the Nexus S, this case isn't as high quality as Seidio's previous Innocases for other phones. I've stopped using it and only use the Sprint-Clip Holster along with other cases. Here is my post (just pictures) about the Platinum/Seidio case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875231
In looking for other cases, I purchased a really cheap TPU style case on eBay, and have been using it. I'm ok with it, but there are some issues that I do not like (volume/power buttons are flush and hard to push/find).
Review: Received the Rearth Ringke case today for my Nexus s.
Packaging was great. Sturdy box, mailed from Louisiana. The actual packaging for the case is nice too.

I'm not sure if it's because of the transparent color/material, but it's very silicone like, and very squishy. The eBay TPU case I have was very hard.
It's easy to put the phone in the case, but because of how "squishy" it is, once you get the phone in, it is not perfecly in. You'll need to move it around and adjust the case and line up the camera/flash/speaker holes. My eBay TPU case, once I put the phone in, it fits perfectly in and no adjustments needed. I've only had this Ringke case today, so I will see how it lasts for the next few days and see if in the normal use of my phone if the case will move around and misalign.
So how does it feel? To me it feels pretty good. It's very thin and has some kind of texture in it. I've read others saying it's slippery and offers no grip. I disagree. There is a matte sort of feeling and it's not slippery at all.
You can see in some of the pictures, the Ringke logo is on top of the Samsung logo, visible in the transparent Black Ash colored case. This doesn't matter in the solid non transparent colors, but in this particular case, I would have prefered if they moved the Ringke logo up a bit as to not block the Samsung logo.
I noticed on the power button, there is a picture of a power icon. Nice touch but not sure if it's necessary since it's almost impossible to see. (The actual Nexus S does have a power icon on the power button, that's probably why they did it).
A huge plus with this case vs other TPU cases, the Power button/Volume control actually works! They stick out a bit and you can actually feel the buttons and press it with a nice feel and the buttons work!
I like the little indentation above the speaker hole, the raised edges around the camera hole, and the little notches above the FFC and Light Sensors. You can tell they did some design work on the case to make it a little different.
Also, the phone with the Ringke Case fits my Platinum Series Spring Clip Holster. That is a major plus.
All in all, this is a very nice case. Steps above cheap HK eBay cases. The price is line with similar style (non eBay) cases.

Does the case feel like it will start rubbing off? Like rubber cases that if you slide in and out of jeans pockets will start to peel and whatnot.

Nah. It's not coated in rubber, no it doesn't feel/look like it'll wear off.

Very Happy with this case, good texture, very good fit. It protects enough for the everyday normal usage and very occasional drops (don't tell me you never drop things...). I got the black one.
I ordered a tougher one for when I do all my crazy cycling, climbing, travelling, running, hiking, etc... so it can safely take a few more higher&tougher impacts.

The matte texture is actually rubbing off for me around the edges. Makes it a bit shinnier and stickier around the edges.

I got this case pretty neat will review soon
Can you tell me if the case can be bought in stores in the US?
My brother is currently in the US and I'd ask him to bring me one along ...
I have both ...both great case minimal bulk added and love the back finish doesn't collect sweat/.fingerprints
the plus on the Rearth Ringke is the buttons they seem to stick out so easier to find were the case on the right they dont.
And the cut outs are slightly better
But the case on the right has a glossy finish on the front and IMO looks better like the phone has no case on
Both are great cases TPU is much better than silicone cases that get sweaty and lose shape after a while
here is a vid review also

I had wanted a black, but settled for an aqua black just a couple weeks ago from their website. Seems all they have left are colors other than black:
http://www.rearthusa.com/Nexus-S-Nexus-S-4G_p_160.html
I was able to find one or two other retailers via Google Shopping, but their price was the best (with free shipping). I was impressed. It was basically next day from LA to CA (although YMMV).
Also, I wanted to add, I have a Casemate Pop, Seido Active X, and this case. The Ringke is my favorite out of all of them thus far.
As far as the feel of it is, I liken it to the feel of the Nexus One's Teflon exterior.
I just bought two of these for my girlfriend and myself (i9020T) and we're both very happy with it. Sticks well to the phone, not too heavy/bulky and looks good. My only gripe with it is that the Black is not really that black in person like it is in the promo pictures

Only thing thinner is the Incipio Feather case. But it's not going to offer the same degree of protection.

i wish they came with a clear case!. i bought a white nexus s, and would love to see the white beneath the case lol. the clear cases i've found look cheap and bulky. but i did find a really good case, i am rockin Proporta's Mizu Shell in charcoal. Has a great feel and fit to it but again, i wish it was clear, as it only comes in charcoal. anyone know a good clear and slim case?
Thanks for the review! Once I had found out OtterBox wasn't releasing one for the Nexus S I couldn't decide between this and the Ultra Silke. I Ordered the Rearth one after reading this review. Only wish they had Black in stock, and quicker shipping to Canada..
Does this case make it hard for you to access the phone in your pockets? I bought a silicone one it was really hard to put it in and take it out of the pockets.
I usually wear jeans...
This looks like exactly what I want. Thanks for the thorough review.

Official Samsung TPU Case (Lots of pics!)

I really like these cases.
Here are some pictures (sorry, I took them in low light with the Galaxy S3):
I got the black and white cases, I personally like the white one more, but the black is also nice.

The case is very sturdy and very nice to the touch. It's kind of slippery, but it feels fine in the hand.
It doesn't hinder the Spen. I've had other cases for this note, and the original, and the Spen on some cases were impossible to take out
Buttons are easily accessible and they're raised! FINALLY! They're easy and clicky! Also, it has a charm loop or a lanyard loop.
Here are some pics of the black one
The cases are easy to apply and the phone basically snaps on, it's not a tight tight fit, but it's not going to come out on its own. It's snug in there, but you don't feel bad having to press really hard or anything like that to get the case off. It basically just comes out with ease.
These cases are going to be my daily drivers for a while, until something better comes along. I usually like Samsung cases. I love the S3 cases and now the Note 2 cases. The only thing I wish it had was the silicon flap to cover the USB or the headphone jack (or both!) to not let any dust in.
Hit thanks if this review has helped you or you just like the pics Or if you'd like me to continue reviewing cases I buy .
Thanks for reading!

Update: I have been getting a lot of PMs about where I got the case. I finally ordered it from here: CLICK, 15 euros.
On another thread (this thread) I had found some ebay links, and then I found some stores
All you need to do is search for the model number of the one you're looking for:
Black case: EFC-1J9BBEG
White case: EFC-1J9BWE
Pink case: I don't remember sorry!
Hope I've helped!
UPDATE: Today is my birthday, and last night I went out with some friends and I used this case. Oh my... The dark photos were ... let's just say that they could be used for Paranormal Activity 10! The white case gives off a reflection! Check this out. I don't recommend the white case if you're going to take night time pictures with flash. Without flash the pictures were fine, but the white edges of the case reflect and kind of destroyed the pictures. The reflection kind of threw off the rest of the picture (exposure, white balance, not to mention the spirit appearing at the bottom of my picture)!
Thanks for posting so many pics. I just ordered one of the white ones today and feel more secure in my decision after seeing your post. I'm currently using one of the generic "folio" type cases off of Amazon and was looking for something that was less awkward to use while I wait for Otterbox to release the Commuter/Defender cases.
It's disappointing to hear the cases are a little slippery. I was hoping for quite a bit of grip improvement.

The back plate is a slippery (and on the black, it's a fingerprint magnet, as you can see!) but the sides are rubber, and it won't slide out of your hand if you're holding the sides. But the back itself is slippery. It's plastic... Of course it is! It's SAMSUNG!

I'm glad to have helped! I'm really content with the cases. You can tell that they've been made specifically for this phone. All the details are there for the ports and buttons. It is actually slimmer than my other TPU cases.
I'm not a fan of folio cases because I don't want to cover the LED Notification light, or when it's open cover the camera! They're probably two of the most important features about this phone for me.

I ordered mine on the 25th and shipped out on the 27th. I'm in SoCal USA and it shipped from Dallas, TX.
Received and agree on all points. Fit is superb. Yeah, it's a little slippery on that glossy back piece but you're going to be gripping the rubbery sides so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Those raised plastic button covers on the sides for the volume and power are indeed nice and very assuring to the touch. It's not as thick as I thought it would be from seeing the pics.
Only con is it does add more weight than I would prefer but I feel more secure with the phone inside so I can deal with it.
My new favorite case over the Nilkin that exposed the top and bottom of the phone. :victory:
mine shipped today. I usually dont use cases, but i gotta say i loved the way the samsung cases looked on the GS3, looking so thin, i barely even noticed people had cases on them when i saw people pull them out. gotta love the samsung 50% off coupon too, ordered the tectiles and charging dock and battery. ( rE155266e coupon code)
I've received some PMs about where I got my cases from. It's a company here in Madrid. Their website is www.Octilus.com, they had the cheapest price I could find and their shipping was only 1€. I'm enjoying the cases highly recommended.

I was concerned about adding bulk to this sexy device, but I can safely say its a non-issue with this..
I got my black case yesterday and I'm very pleased with fit and finish. I don't think it's possible for a case to add less bulk and provide similar protection. The hard back does show finger prints and finger oil smears very clearly but no big deal and overall looks better than the T-mobile logo IMHO. Soft sides provide good grip and the charcoal gray color looks very good with the front bezels of titanium model. It didn't seem like a tight fit going on but doesn't seem loose in use. I imagine a little looseness is a good thing when it comes to shock adsorption and I believe the rubber sides will grip well enough to prevent the phone from separating during most falls. The edge surrounding the screen is raised enough to keep it from touching a flat surface when face down but just barely. I expect the screen could make contact if the phone is dropped on an irregular surface. I have a Spigen SGP Ultra Clear screen protector for that situation and highly recommend it as well. I can't even tell it's there from looks or function. Invisible to the eye and S-pen with cut outs for camera, proximity and light sensors as well as the speaker and home button. Feels like the native glass to finger and pen might actually feel better with a very very slight and benefitial increase in drag. So slight it may be imaginary.

MYBAT Jolt Case mini review - amazing case for only $6

I'm not that great at prose. Bullet points for all of you!
Bought from here. Also comes in white and red.
Notes:
The great big DANGER sticker and Big Scary Laser sticker is something I bought separately.
Pros:
It's 6 freaking dollars!
Does not feel cheap
Volume/power buttons retain their 'click'
Reasonable protection
High lip for drop protection
Lip does not impede touching the edge of the screen
Stand actually useful (comfortable angle)
Slippery enough to slide into my pocket, grippy enough to comfortably stay on a table
Does not attract fingerprints at all
Fit is very tight, phone absolutely won't come out on its own
Feels comfortably rugged but not ridiculously so
Would not be afraid to drop the phone whilst in the case
Cons:
Volume/power buttons have very little definition on the case, very easy to accidentally press volume down whilst holding the phone
Stylus cutout could be a tad bigger
Larger headphone connectors may not fit
Larger microUSB connectors may not fit
Can be a little fiddly to get the phone out of the case due to tight fit
Neutral:
Stand only has one angle (I like it for the simplicity, but each to their own)
Stand feels a little flimsy (I don't think it will break unless someone smacks the phone down whilst standing)
No dust covers on the jacks (I personally like this as I hate having to remove dust covers when I want to plug anything in)
Wrapup:
For $6 shipped I couldn't be happier.
Unless I find something hugely better or the otterbox commuter drops in price by $20, I'm sticking with this.

I've got the same case, modded it to use with my flip cover and it works great. With the flip cover on I can fold it back and prop the stand on it or it lays flat in front like a keyboard on a laptop. The only problem I have with it is the kickstand is a bit flimsy.
I like to break stuff!

I put the flip cover on, then put the case on and marked it just 1mm-2mm from the top and bottom of the flip cover then removed the case and cut it down to the little groove along the back edge, then cut along the groove. Afterwards I sanded the back edge with 200-1800 grit sand paper and it looks factory finished now.

Monty, i found one exact replica of the Otterbox Commuter for $5 and mod it to have a thin kickstand.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153383
I spliced in the kickstand from a $9 TPU casing. The point is it's more protected from drops & has a functional stand without the $70 cost from where I come from.

Correct, it is identical.
Got the same case from amazon for a buck with 5 bucks shipping. Very god review and I agree with all of it.

I just received my uag scout case and then I see this thread. Blast. The uag case is nice. Fit is not a hundred percent but protection feels good. What it is, is not worth 39 that I paid for it. This case looks like it would offer similar level of protection to the uag case. Anybody compared the two? Might get it to cutout the back to allow for better charging wen I finally get around to performing the induction charging mod.

The only thing to be careful with on this case is the inside edges are pretty sharp, at least on mine, and scuff up the edges of the phone. The reason I don't use it on my new note.

Sorry, but in terms of quality these are in a different category. Two months ago I said to myself after getting a handful of ebay cases - hey they all cost as much as one of the premium one. Then, I compared it to those from UAG, Case-Mate, and Otterbox - and the quality and fitment of ebay cases was pale in comparison. They will offer a similar level of protection, I will not deny that. But you will see how brittle plastic material is, how hard to push volume/power buttons, how flimsy and stretchy silicone inserts, how poorly inner/outer shells interconnect, how flimsy kickstand is, the silicone/plastic gets a blue shade from your jeans pocket, and how poor some of the port openings are. Regarding price of UAG - that's expected when a brand new product is released and there is such a high demand for it, thanks to a great reputation of their S3 cases.
Here's pics of it on the phone itself

[Review] Official Samsung case (NOT the flip case!)

So after my Nilkin case took a tumble and broke one of the edges by the volume rocker I wanted to review some other cases that offered more protection around the edges without adding bulk. The criteria was simple, stick as close to the thickness of the Nilkin as possible but add more protection.
Today I have the Samsung official case that Mobilefun have kindly sent me.
One thing is for certain, pictures make it look thicker than it actually is. The Nilkin case is barely any thinner but you get the added top and bottom protection on this Samsung case which gives the impression of a thicker case in images. In reality it feels more comfortable than the Nilkin due to the curvier shape and soft case bezel. I find it nicer to type with this case on as my fingers are no longer rubbing against the straight edge at the bottom like they would with the Nilkin and all other snap on cases like it.
Negatives:
I can spot one immediately which is that the back is glossy and as such does attract fingerprints, dust and scratches. Over time this finish will look tired like car paintwork that's seen sponges and machine car washes (I've yet to see a glossy black finish that doesn't end up this way on a gadget!) so bare this in mind. It might be possible to take a scouring pad to it like we did with the glossy Galaxy S2 bits back in the day
Regardless of the name "Hard case" it's not actually all hard, the Nilkin is harder. The back of the Samsung case is hard glossy plastic but the rest is harder flexible material and feels like it will take more of an absorbing impact.
Pics & final thoughts:
Vs Nilkin

It's a £15 case so for once it's not unreasonably priced compared to the branded 3rd party cases out there (Casemate, Otterbox etc) given that it's an official accessory. I'm due a couple of other cases so will compare the lot in a few days but so far this Samsung case has impressed me. It will definitely take more of a beating than the Nilkin has and protect my phone at the same time... Which leads me on to beatings. Had I received this case a couple of days earlier I would not currently have a chip on the lower right of the screen on my handset after a nasty fall on brick stairs.
Such is life
I also use this case now and like it. Although got it slightly cheaper from amazon - around £10 ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009KZ36ZM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 )
I was thinking of combining this case with the official flip case (to better protect the screen surface). Has anyone tried it? Does it work or the extra bulk of the flip case does not allow this protective case to be fitted?
Hmm not sure how the flip would work with this case on without cutting the soft side bits?
I tried the case mate tough first but the cutouts around the usb port and s-pen were too sharp and made the phone uncomfortable to hold.
Have the Samsung case on my wife's Note II and and liked it, have one myself now

I am not sure too - would be good to try it myself, but nobody of my friends with Note2 has a flip case.
I have seen this idea being implemented using a slightly moded UAG case (if I am not mistaken) and official flip cover. I think I saw it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931209
Update:
Here it is - look a short discussion around posts 1002-1010: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931209&page=101
And another combination of a protective case with a flip cover: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38575302&postcount=1082
Wow.... Those photos.... So beautifully shot it made me tempted to get one myself too!

Yeah that's the problem with some cases where they have sharp/non curved bits around the bottom so when you use the phone it's a bit uncomfortable. Normally it's not noticeable until you use another case that doesn't have it and it's a nice welcome difference.
This case can be used along with the replacement backdoor flip cover (OEM Samsung with nfc). I also use the backdoor flip cover with my Otterbox commuter case without a problem and without modification. It's awesome in both applications because you get full phone protection, and in the instance I'm using the case discussed in this thread, without adding a lot of bulk to the phone.

Thank you for the info!
Could you post few photos of the combo in closed and open states please?
Just to make sure it is convenient for my use patterns before buying it...
If you want to use the official Samsung case with the flip cover, many people (myself included) just cut the softer outer plastic bit where it impedes the flip cover. Thanks to the back being a harder plastic it doesn't lose too much integrity and still holds onto the phone fine. There was a thread about it here in this section with photos and stuff, I'm sure you'll find it with a bit of searching.
The benefit of actually cutting the case rather than leaving it intact is you can still fold the cover back and type with two hands, whereas I'd you didn't the case would only open to about 90° from the screen

The phone with the flip cover back door installed
A few pictures with the car in question in this post
Some more with the flip cover back door in combination with the Otterbox commuter
The case would fit better with modification but I chose to not modify and it works fine. Definitely requires 2 handed use until your used to welding it in these configurations.

And why would you do that, Back to the review I brought this case off amazon uk and yes its a good case does not add to much bulk ti the phone either. No point wasting money on cheap tpu cases anymore as the official is only £10.

To see what it's like with a matte finish as matte looks more professional than glossy. And why not for the sale of posting feedback?
Nice post!
Could you post a picture of the inside of the case, specifically the part where the lanyard loop goes? Is it recessed, and is it strong?
Amazing pictures, makes me want to get it more, and it's one of the few cases with a lanyard loop :good:

They're great! I have one for the Galaxy S4, and it feels like a tank. I can't imagine how big it would be for the Note 2 though.
The two aluminium halves of the case support the phone where the screw holes are, so I wouldn't be surprised if it could withstand being run over by a car. It's a good idea to install a wireless charging pad as well. It works through the silicone cutout in the back, and makes charging much more convenient! The built-in glass screen protector is also nice. None of this!:

I wouldn't trust it to be fully waterproof though. It's weather resistant at most, protecting it from rain and stuff. Just look at that camera cutout!
to bulky
looks to bulky for my taste. if it adds that much to a s4. can imagine what it's gonna add to a note 2. i'll stick with my otterbox defender

Wow! Thats huge!
If you look on that site there's another heavy duty case. It's not as coffin like and has rounded edges.
I am super tempted also.... but ill let you take the plunge and tell us about it...to the dude that will stick with his otterbox... Ive never seen anything bigger than a defender

No idea about it but thanks to inform
Got the case today. Ordered it on April 29th and got it in today, May 12th.
The case comes nicely packaged. The outside of the box says it's waterproof, but I wouldn't trust it at all. The camera area has a small piece of tempered glass over it and the seal around it looks like black glue. I't might be waterproof, but risk it. Also, the earplug port doesn't seem like the best seal either. It close really tight, but still seems like a risk. The phone speaker and seems like it has a small black screen over it, doesn't look water proof at all there. That's pretty much the only negative things about the case. The rest is pretty damn good.
The case comes packaged like this:
Opening the box you get the extra screws and the tool to remove the crews.
Now for size comparison. The case next to an Otterbox Defender case. This case is 1/8" longer and 1/8" wider then the Otterbox. To me, that doesn't feel any bigger in my hand at all.
The big difference is the height. The Otterbox is 1/4" thicker then the metal case. Here they are laying flat next to each other.
I weighed the phone in the Otterbox and it was 9.6 oz. In the metal case it weighed 11.4 oz., so a slight increase in weight. And to me the 2 oz. is that big of a deal. What's really nice is the tempered glass screen protector. It feels about 3x's thicker then the plastic one on the Otterbox. There isn't any problem with sensitivity screen interaction. Also, the black square on the back is some of the rubber from the inside of the case and it sits right in the palm and keeps the phone from slipping. The black all along the edges is rubber too and helps with grip. I can see the rubber possibly attracting some dust. Have to wait a few days and see how dirty it gets. All of the buttons work easily too. Power, volume and home button all work perfectly.
I showed this case to 3 other friends and family that have Note 2's and all want to order one now. The only thing that would make this case better would be a big name brand behind it that would back up the waterproof claim. If this case had been around when the Note 2 launched, I would have definitely picked it over the Otterbox.
nice side by side comparison. ty.
Before I got the case I did the live chat on the site and asked a few questions and they said NFC would not work once the case was on. I can use S Beam and all of that just fine since there isn't metal behind the black square on the back.
Also worth mentioning is the impact truss inside of the case's silicone bumper. They are triangular holes that help absorb shock when dropped.
Thanks for the awesome review. I couldn't wait and ordered mine before this review came out. I hope mine arrives as swiftly ad yours did. I am concerned that it won't fit in my iottie dash mount

How do you like it so far? I've got an Otterbox Defender now and I do like it, but it's a little too bulky and makes the screen corners hard to touch.
