Best GoPro For Skiing? - Off-topic

Hey guys I'm going skiing this winter and am interested in a GoPro. I see that there are multiple models. Which would you say is the best for skiing?
Thanks.

Nothing?

Anyone?

Hi, instead of GoPro, I found a lot of action cameras that introduced a lot of action cameras that are more suitable for skiing. Hope it can help you and others: GoPro Hero4 Black Nikon Keymission 360 Sony FDR-X3000R Dazzne P3 FujiFilm FinePix XP80 Kodak PIXPRO SP360 4K Yi 4k

I recommend the GoPro Hero 5 Action Camera.

I thought you needed silverlight to watch it ?
Wish they would make a skyplayer app. I emailed them a little while ago to ask but had no response. I agree the iphone app looks really good.

Video Out via HTC MediaLinkHD

You should be able to stream video if you have an HTC MediaLinkHD.
This will only work with videos/music stored locally on the tablet. It will not clone your display, so no surfing the web or games on the tv. Just streaming movies and music to a tv.
I was toying with it last night on my transformer prime. I tried bubble upnp, imediashare, etc... All of them would stream music no issues, but the video would always fail.
Then I found this free app, and every video I tested worked. In most cases, this worked better then the pairing between my evoLTE and the medialink.
If you search the play store for medialink , you should find an app called Wi-Fi Media by Cavium (wont show up when searching for Wi-Fi Media). Install it, choose your movie, and set the renderer to the medialink.
profit???

Of course I don't have the Nexus7 yet. But if anyone does, and has the medialink and wants to try it I don't see why it would be any different then my prime running AOKP.
This would be an expensive option if you don't own a newer HTC device and already own a medialink. But seems the option is there at least.
The no video output was more of a deal breaker to me then the storage, and that seems to be a non-issue now. If I could just find one in stock.
we can't have an app for make a mirror screen such as htc one x use 3 fingers to mirror the screen is not possible with a mod in next rom custom ?
I've been using the the media link and the Wi-Fi media app with my nexus 7 and must say it works well. We take it with us now just in case we need to keep the kids quiet with a film. The video quality at 720p source is very good and it hasn't stuttered once.

Don't know if I would have bought one though. I got mine free from phones 4U, when I got my one x.

I have one but mirroring kind of sucked and it was all that was available outside of the stock player and YouTube which actually sent the content via MediaLink (not just mirroring) on my HTC One X. I'll give it a shot with my Nexus 7 tonight. I was underwhelmed with the device using my HTC One X but I hope that it's better with the Nexus 7. Fingers crossed!
This should essentially be the same thing, a lot cheaper... once it releases.

Should have a beta out in the next 4 weeks, they are planning support for the n7.
Can anyone confirm if it works using play store movies that have DRM?

Can anyone provide a categoric answer on whether the HTC Media Link HD will play movies downloaded onto the Nexus 7 from the Play store that have DRM protection?
I think answering this single question will stop a lot of people hunting around and ultimately creating similar threads on the Nexus to TV issue.
Thanks.

How is this possible? At 1280x800 we have 1,024,000 pixels, at 32bit color depth that gives 32mbit per full screen image, so standard 60hz video would require just shy of 2gb/s... Wifi can't do anywhere close to 2 gigabit per second, 802.11n theoretical max is only 600 megabit and that's using 4 spatial streams which no consumer hardware supports... for most home users their max is going to be about 300 megabit/second using 40mhz channels and 2 spatial streams with a guard interval of 400ns (and even that is hard to achieve). At 300mb/s you'll get a frame rate of less than 10hz without compression.
So how the hell are they doing it?

Depth of field?

Can galaxy camera capture depth of field function like dslr camera?
Sent from my GT-P5100 using xda premium
When I looked at the camera there is a manual setting with aperture available plus some of the pre sets have field of depth
I think the camera will never beat a slr but it comes near !
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium HD app
The beauty of this camera (and one that we all keep forgetting maybe)... is that it has access to thousands of camera apps on the Play Store.
Any feature you want such as the depth of field enhancing you mention can within reason be found there. For example in an app called "Awesome Miniature Pro" covers depth of field well. There are others that do similar things. They all work with the camera app and use the optical zoom to good effect.
The sky is the limit with this beauty!

FYI: Front Camera

Nexus 5 front Camera only records video up to 720p! What a shame! I hope it get's a mod to record 1080P for video chats...
FYI: everybody knows that.
Thanks for sharing though.

Yup, Nexus 5 front facing camera video recording sucks....I was hoping it records 1080p now. Cuz it's new and Google didn't even pointed that one.
I saw a Chinese phone commercial with a 10 or 13 MP front facing camera with wide angle lens and BSI, I wonder if we got those innovations in US markets,,,I love taking selfie photos and skype video chat or hangouts. It would be a great option.
Seriously getting so sick of all these complaint threads.

Doesn't really matter what the front camera resolution is for video chat apps. Skype and hangouts will compress your video to 480p levels and lower so your 1080p camera is practically useless unless you take selfies and video through the actual Camera app.

Agreed. Tried video chat with my wife aver Hangouts and it was subpar with her on a mobile connection. I'd rather have 480P or less and it actually be a video chat than a web cam chat from 2001.

"Camera
1.3MP front facing"
1280x720=921600 or .92MP
1920x1080=2073600 or 2.07MP
Which one of those numbers fits within the bounds of 1.3MP? Google made it pretty clear.

Not really! Skype supports Full HD video chat and it will only get crappy"compressed" if you have bad internet connections or the the WiFi speed can't support large data bandwidth for HD videos.

As far as I am aware, Skype for Android does not support HD video. Skype for desktop supports Full HD video and I believe Skype for iPad/iPhone supports HD video.

What you are thinking abut is the Oppo N1, a 5.9 inch phablet with a rotating camera. No company is going to put a 13MP font facing and back facing camera into a phone (at least not yet). For one it wouldn't fit not to mention the N1 is a $580 phone and you are comparing it to a 350-400$ phone.

Quit using the price as an excuse for everything, the nexus costs the same to build as pretty much every other phone. The reason it costs less than other devices is that Google is a marketing company so they save on those costs and they lower their profit margins compared to Apple and Samsung. This isn't the place to discuss this but im getting sick of reading "what did you expect? Its a $400 device"
Heck, some of the people in this forum would argue its fine for a $350 Nexus device to not even make calls since its only $350.

How to take 360 photos?

Is it possible with default camera app?
Thanks!!
+1 on this, have been searching everywhere and nothing.
+2 Been searching for that too
+3, interested if there is an official way. Photosphere on Gcam mod works, that's 360
They got rid of the Surround Shot feature so it wouldn't compete with the Gear 360
I have the APK but I couldn't get it to launch
