[Request] About phone.apk - Galaxy Ace S5830i General

Hey guys. About month ago I asked for help but got no answer. So I'm wondering again if someone have an actual Phone.apk that works with 120 and 140 dip and if you can share it. Or if a dev can help me to mod mine. Please. Help this noob

You can get it from any custom rom zip file.
Why did you need this particular apk?

You may try to recompile it using Ten Studio tool.

I'm using LCDdensityChanger because I get annoyed by big pixels. Well I have RazoDroid by rajrocks in my phone and is not compatible with 140 or 120 dpi . Because when I make or receive a call my phone.apk crashes in a black screen (com.process.phone I think it is?) And I get a FC :/ I think what I need is mod my phone.apk to make it compatible with those densities but I have no idea how to do it :/ help ?

Ten Studio Tool? Never heard of it. What I always do to see an apk is rename it as a zip and see what's in there. I checked my phone.apk and there's no ldpi compatibility or PNG folders.

Dude, I have the same problem. When I change the lcd density, my phone looks cool but I can't make calls or receive calls, we are buying phones to make calls at all. So I can't make my phone look cool.

It depends. 160 dpi is what we have. If you change it to 140 your icons and pngs will look smaller and your screen bigger. When you put it in 120 dpi it looks like a tablet. And you get more space in your screen (5x5 instead of 4x4). I get annoyed by 160 because is too big for my taste

[Q] req for weather clock apk

Can someone extract the weather widget clock as an apk. I would like to download it on my sgs2. Many thanks in advance.
System dump is in the dev section. Just the weatherwidget won't install bc its dependant on LG UI...

Thanks for the reply. I wonder how they got they got the one from the optimus to work.
Clock and UI export?
Just curious - I'm not a developer but I'm learning a lot very quickly on xda and with my last 2 rooted droids. This has successfully been ported to an Optimus, but that's also an LG phone I believe so I'm guessing the UI was the same or similar enough to accept the swap over...
I'd love for someone to give me the guidance to do this to a Tbolt or for someone that's experienced enough to take a crack at a t-bolt port for this clock widget. I really liked it!

Any chance to get these in 1.3.0 rather than 1.2.5? I'm on ICS music player and Galaxy Nexus so current skins are kinda small with my resolution and the widget force closes all the time

Isn't it even more of a waste of space to have both hardware and software buttons?
I know. I just wanna see how it would look for a bit I had it on my nexus s but the screen was smaller. And with my privacy screen protector I can't see the hard keys when they're off. And the mod kills the keylight so they stay off. I am just curious to see how it looks on this phone.

Theming/blacking out/inverting??

I would like to learn what is needed to be changed in a ROM/apps in order to get the blackedout / inverted look. I'm I'm wanting to do this on a cm10.1 based ROM and I know how to use apktool and other just not sure what to edit in the .XML files. I have made changes in colors.XML and drawable.XML but for some reason it does nothing for me.
Have searched and found plenty on theming but none really get in to the .XML part of.
I know there are themes and inverted gapps already out there but would still like to learn how its done.
Any help would be great and I know how to use the thanks button...

The above quote is good for changing the background of the settings list and the background of the setup when first install. If you want to get rid of the grey that is in the menus the more needs to be changed and its all found in framework-res.apk in the res/drawable xhpi folder in the form of .PNG or .9.PNG files and they include BG. Or background in the names menu_background.9.PNG is one for example.
Now onto next change how to change clock color in status bar. Just doing it one at a time sence the info is very hard to fine and not much help on it, will keep updating as I find the answers. Just exploring through files and change stuff to see what happens.

Presenting (Miui v4 Theme) Bloody Miui v5

I was inspired by digitalhigh's icey theme but realized that there are never any good red themes for miui. So I decided to take it upon myself to make that happen.
Out of beta, everything should be working pretty well now
I hope you guys enjoy this bloody goodness as much as I do!
DOWNLOADS on the second post.
If you want any icons added for your apps feel free to send me them and I'll include as many as you guys like. I know I hate inconsistencies in my themes!

If it helps with the icons - you don't even need the apk or package name for most programs. If you visit the play store link for an app on a computer, the URL will have the package name in it, and the main image shown is a .png you can download and use for the icon.
For example..."poop rearing simulator mobile":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.android.unko&hl=en
Between "id=" and "&hl" is the package name, jp.android.unko.
On the page itself, in the top-left box beneath "Poop Rearing Simulator Mobile" and "Y.soft", is the icon:
Windows clipboard doesn't like transparency, so I just save the icon, then (from chrome) drag-drop the new icon from the download bar into the template I've attached.
Scale it however you want...don't worry about the shape yet. Each one is different, but given the new MIUI style, I try to go for sweet and simple.
Since yours is red, you'd need to modify one of the overlay colors at first, but then you can just copy the layer style to the new icon, ctrl+click layer 0 to select the outline, select the new icon layer, and then hit the "add vector mask" button. Make sure to unlink the mask and layer in the case you want to scale the icon after the fact.
And just in case you (or anybody else reading) aren't sure how to do the last two (I know I avoided masks like the plague for years), refer to the highlighted spots in the attached picture for where to click to make a mask and unlink the two.
Then that's about it. I like to call my layer name whatever the package name is - and I copy/paste it right from the address bar into photoshop. Just easier to keep track of things when exporting.
And...er...sorry to jack your thread. I'd make this it's own tutorial thread, but I don't think there's a super-high demand for MIUI icon tutorials. However, feel free to share whatever you come up with in red - I'll try to do the same. If we're using the same template, then we could actually pool our resources to come up with a massive iconset.
Haha by all means post help when ever you want
I'm pretty good with Photoshop, illustrator is more up my alley but they're pretty similar. Just not much experience with android theming
I think the reason I'm having scaling issues with the .9.PNG files is because I just took a miui v5 theme and unzipped each com.android by adding a .zip extension to them.
Did you use a theme as a base or did you pull straight from a miui v5 ROM into the theme tool? Because the files seem to be in different places from v4 to v5

I did a combination of things. To extract all the v5 resources, I used MIUI Theme editor, then cleaned up the .xml files. I then used MTE to extract all the resources from the latest JB release of v4. Then it was a buttload of hunting and searching to find what elements did match up, and renaming/moving ones that did not.
However, by the looks of it, I'd guess that the scaling issues present in your screenshots are probably because you manually edited a .9 image and did something to the outside edge (definition) that it doesn't like. I had the same glitch in the compose box in MMS.apk. This is why it's essential to use the "hue" attribute when overlaying anything with color...it'll leave all the black borders untouched. Likewise, I'm actually editing a .9 image, I will cut out the inside graphics and make them their own layer before editing anything, just to be sure I don't kill the borders. .9patch is useful, but very very finnicky.
Ah yeah that would make sense, I did use the hue overlay. From what I can see the stuff I extracted doesn't have the guides that the .9's need in the first place. I Amy need to find a new rom or mtz to extract from.
It sucks because I did all the searching too, just haven't found everything haha
