New guy on the block interested in RE

Hi,
Although I have not posted here previously I have visited this site for information. It’s been quite useful in regards with flashing and un-bricking my k-jam. Thanks for providing such a useful information portal.
I would like to help out around with projects or anything in general. I am a retired experienced reverse engineer on an x86 platform as well as dabbling in arm on the palm many years ago. Although my previous reversing skill may have been used in black areas (removing completely & emulating DRM systems), I am quite interested in taking up a hobby with the Windows Mobile/Arm area to further the free development and use of these phones.
So if anyone has a project that I could help with please let me know I am more than happy to help.
Welcome to the xda-developers forum, your knowledge and skills will certainly be a very valuable assets and beneficial for the forum and community at large.Plz Read and check out the 'Development And hacking' Forum and post there for any help of your services or see if you can participate in some projects there.
Cheers

Endgaget Article on CyanogenMod 7

Interesting write-up and lots of discussion.
Expect new folks to be signing up here.
Wrong Forum.
This is the development forum, you want the Nook General Forum.
And typical of Engadget, there are more than a few dumbfuck commenters.

Attention Mods: Proposal for a bit of forum organization

So.... We're done to less than a month until the Bionic arrives. One of few things that isn't 100% confirmed but is fairly strong in the rumors is the existence of Webtop capabilities.
My proposal is simply for a sub-forum under "Android Development" of the bionic forums dedicated strictly to Webtop development. This same organization could be applied to the Atrix and any other future phones that support the same capabilities.
I would honestly go so far to say that there should also be a "Roms" sub-forum. The draw-back for this organization is that moderation would have to be heavy due to idiots posting in the wrong forums... but IMO, if the mods are willing do keep track, then this would be a good trade-off.

Forums for programmers?

Hey guys. I had nowhere else to ask this question, and this is kind of relevant to the subject matter of the website, so I figured I'd ask it here.
Is there a forum dedicated to programming with a huge user base and an active beginners section? Some perhaps very well known website that most everybody uses?
Thanks for the help.
Here is a good place to start:

How is that even vaguely helpful? He's asking for something specific, and it's quite a sensible request.
@Bodoma there is a programming forum on here, but it's quite new so not particularly busy. Given time I'm sure it will build up, but there's already lots of people you can chat about programming with and get advice from.

That forum is specific for app development for the platforms we cover on xda.
As for specific coding issues, get familiar with StackOverflow.com. It's a *very* useful resource that most developers are aware of, even if just to leech from it (nothing wrong with reading and learning )

Ooh, I had no idea that forum existed on here. Thanks for the help, Archer. As far as a preliminary glance at what StackOverflow is, it seems like a great platform that I can use to ask a ton of questions and see what kind of answers I get.
I did Google, by the way, but the results that were returning didn't have communities as big as I would like, since popularity is the only way I can tell whether or not the website is reliable, as I do not know enough about the subject matter to use another method of filtration.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
