[SCRIPT] apps2ext-MA - Optimus One, P500 Android Development

Hello , i present to u the apps2ext script . thx to xda and its tons of threads which gave a lots of information
what does it do ?
the script mounts sd ext as internal memory , its fast and smooth and u can see sd-ext as internal memory
what do u need ?
a custom rom with inti.d support
how to install ?
1. backup all the apps and data in memory card
2. go to recovery and make a backup
3. make a sd partion recovery 512 mb would be good
4. set swap to 0
5. and complete partition
6. copy the script to sd card
7. flash the script and reboot
bugs ?

will it work with 256 ext 32 swap??

Actually the script makes u r SD ext as phone memory ... so make it. 512 ... If u make partition with 256 u will get 256 MB internal memory ... not internal memory + 256

Well android can move parts of apps to the SD card. Go to manage applications > app > move to SD card.
If you want to use a2sd were all of an app is moved, then I think you will need root.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using my hands
Use free app2sd applications from market. But they will move only compatible appz. Dalvik cache and other files + non compatible appz will stay in phone memory. So really it doesn't affect storage that much.

Without root, free much space it's not possible.
Titanium backup > move apps to sd card.

Thank you.
dude we all know that ace's internal memory sucks
so if u REALLLY want some SPACE rootyour phone!!! its nothing to be scared of , u can always unroot your phone to claim warranty
s2e( only for cm7 roms ) and link2sd are two apps which give u a LOT of internal memory but both require root , so .......

Glad to hear that
I read somewhere that it was irreversible! Thankyou for confirming it as false
Anyway could you provide a link to the complete procedure? Like from partitioning to using a good script? And do you suggest EXT3 or EXT4?
Thanks a lot

Best and quick way to partition would be via ClockWorkMod Recovery and it will automatically use EXT4 which is better.
And I would recommend Link2SD, no problem with it so far for me.

hey.... since your using a class 4 sd card remember not to flash new roms frequently as sd extension gets formatted every time you flash a new rom... and if formatted too many times your card is surely going to get damaged soon ... i'm saying this because i've faced this problem !!!

Internal memory is limited to ~200 MB for user+200mb for ur rom.
U can extend user memory by using ur sdcards space,
All u have to do is
1# creating a EXT3 OR EXT4 partition with PC on ur sdcard, (use minitool partition program)
2# or u can make that partition from recovery (sdcard format)
From advanced menu
@search forum for more info

Questions...space when running CM10

Hi,
I installed CM10 on my girlfriend's ace. But she can only install max 8apps - then it's running out of space.
Most apps cannot be shifted to the sd card, so how did you solve this problem?
Bye,
Blubberor
Well as it is root you can move all new installed apps to the sdcard. Sorry can't remember the name right now I will post again.

there are scripts u can download, that allow any app to be moved to sd, instead of having to do it manually, and the best thing is, u dont require root for it, but it doesnt make a difference if u have rooted
http://techgage.com/article/moving_your_non-movable_android_apps_to_an_sd_card/
i couldnt find actual page i got it from, but if u want, i can upload adt platform tools from somewhere and share link
i also copied everything from the page in a word file, with instructions, and alternate commands, if the first ones dont work, ill upload those aswell, just let me know

I went to fourm of cron mod.
Does it partition 100 MB from each 500 MB or this is only for apps.
I mean does system if i flashed another rom will be on this partitioned part from SD card or no?

yes for every 100mb is equivalent to 500mb of partition. you don't need to format your sdcard, it will be formatted when you partition it.and btw, you must install it with an init.d support
I partition my sdcard to 800mb only because it's enough for me. I use this Mini Tool Partition Wizard
and as I said. before flashing you must mount /system because i tried the process in the op thread to format /sd-ext
but it does not work. you'll get bootloop or it will boot but script won't work.

before you flash the int2ext in cwm you must mount system
that pc program is for partitioning sdcard because if you use cwm for partitioning you don't have any option for
800-900 mb because 1gb is too much because as i said 100mb internal memory is equal to 500mb in second partition
