[Q] chrome on root stock hd or hd+

I thought the version of android on the nook hd and hd+ was 4.0 or higher, but I downloaded chrome for ics and couldn't get it to work. Is it possible to have chrome on the stock root hd+ and if so, where can I download it? thank you.

Several have reported it does not work for them, even though the HD is ics. Other Google apps fail some way or another. Google Voice crashes, and Gmail will not sync.

I got Chrome to work on my HD+. I didn't do anything special but download and install. I must say it has some things which keep it from being my favorite which currently is Dolphin. Many of the websites on my favorites list use "Flash" to display content and Android Chrome does not support Flash.

Yeah, strange, I sideloaded the version I got from my Galaxy Nexus and it works fine on my HD+. Think it even updated once: ver 18.0.1025469

[Q] How to downgrade Firmware from 1.0.5 back to 1.0.4?

I recently found a beginers guide (Finally.) For rooting nook hd+ , sadly My nook auto updated. (T..T) and now i need a guide to downgrading my nook back to 2.0.4 to root it.
(Nooks are excellent book readers, but bad tablets when not rooted..)
Edit: Yup.. Now I've noticed accidentally putting 1.0.5 instead of 2.0.5..
Could have sworn I saw something about downgrading to 2.0.2 a while back though..

Not possible. And even if you could, it would upgrade itself again. Your best solution if you want it rooted is to go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature for rooting.
Oh, and I assume you meant 2.0.4 and 2.0.5.

You can take it back to 2.0.0 if you want, but unless you use my special rooted version in that thread I mentioned, it will just upgrade itself again.
Edit: maybe what you saw about 2.0.2 was resetting to 2.0.0 and it updating automatically to 2.0.2 because that was the latest version then.

[Q] After rooting and flashing question

I'm not sure how to search this, so if it has been asked before, my apologies.
I am planning on rooting my Nook HD+ and putting a CM10.1 nightly (yay for official support!) on it. My question is this, I have a few books on my Nook that I purchased from B&N. I was wondering if the B&N app lets me still use these while I'm running CM 10.1 or if I'm S.O.L. and going to lose them. I know side loaded books I can find a reader on the Play Store and not have an issue there. Thanks for your help guys, I much appreciate it.

Yes the Nook android app will retrieve your purchased books. But the trick is going to be installing the Nook android app on CM10.1. It will not install from Play Store. You have to find the app somewhere else and sideload it. Another way is to use the 1mobile.com store. It lets you install it.

Awesome, thanks a bunch!
I don't know how it happened, but somehow it seems as though my Nook will only boot to CVM 10.1 when I have the bootable sd card in it. Will I need to keep it in there or did I royally mess something up? Thanks, I got straight onto the struggle bus, kicked the driver off, and went for a joyride with this.

[Q] Root

I have searched, and my Google-fu is obviously lacking. I was given a Kindle Fire 7 HD (11.3.1.0) yesterday, and want to root and ROM it. Have done this lots of times with phones, so I am not a complete noob - just a regular noob.
However - nothing I have tried works. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong spot?
Here's the root guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544736
We can't flash ROMs on the 2013 model though yet since the bootloader is locked.

[Q] Nook HD universal root rev2 (leapinlar)

Greetings,
I recently picked up a Nook HD 16GB and am updating it to 2.2 as I type this. As the title says, I am looking for rev2 (not rev3) of the universal root for the Nook HD (not hd+). I currently have and use the rev2 on my HD+ and enjoy not having the alternate boot screen. However, unlike the rev3 which works for both Nook HD and HD+, I am unsure if rev2 for the HD+ that I have will work for the HD. I believe I may need a different zip for the HD. Please help. Thank you.

Just noticed the HD+ rev2 also says for HD as well. Please forgive me. No questions here. Enjoy your day.
