Because not everybody lives in the UK or USA. In Belgium we don't have access to that application. And if i use a market-enabler the app does not work good.

? Strange Are you sure that you placed it in system/apps and that the permissions are correct. Normally you will get a message "Android is updating..." after reboot.

Music Apk

This one can be installed to replace.
http://development.piratemedia.tv/2010-06-06-music-mod-v1-6-mdpi-hdpi/
How to...
Copy the apk to your sdcard. Now for some commands.
Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
rm /system/app/Music.apk
rm /system/app/Music.odex
cp /sdcard/Music.apk /system/app/
chmod 644 /system/app/Music.apk
reboot
That should give you the new music.apk. I had to reboot for the apk to take. Let me know if anyone finds anything else.

looks nice but I *think* it requires root. Also read something about being pushed through AVD so it could be that instead.
It does require root. But well worth it imo

another easy way to do this is to download the sdx app remover
http://roc-city.com/android/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk
it creates a folder on your sdcard called sdx, put the file into /sdcard/sdx/backup/app
the app will be listed, just check it and click restore app and it will install it under /system/app

Then try the attached apk. But first rename the vending.apk (the market) in /system/app/ to vending.apk.bak (for example) and paste the attached file. And rename it to vending.apk.
Then restart your phone and see if it works.
Edit:
You also might clear the dalvik cache.

(Updated)[ROOT]Official Facebook home launcher for Nexus S working!

Hi guys since the Facebook home is officially not available for our device I just used the old build.prop trick to make it work fully for my nexus S. It should work for everyone but it is not guaranteed please perform necessary backup before changing anything in system files.
Requirements -
1.Rooted Nexus S.
2.File explorer with root permissions.
3. Latest version of main Facebook app and Facebook messenger already installed.
4.Custom recovery img
I have CM10.0 stable on my phone but it should work with any ROM.Open your file manager browse with root permission - mount as writable - you will find build.prop in the system folder first make a backup of that then open build.prop in editor and edit the lines for ro.product.model/brand/device/manufacturer and in additional build properties change ro.com.google clientidbase line as screenshots below

After making changes reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and reboot.
Now download Facebook home apk and install the app.

TWRP Backup Location

Like the title says, where is the TWRP backup location? When using a file explorer I don't have the folder for TWRP, I wanted to move the backup off my phone but can't access it.

TWRP seems to be tricky on the Moto X. Boot into recovery and mount it from there, and then you should be able to see the folder from your computer.

/data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS
Do you know why it saves the backups in there? Some apps like Nandroid can't find its path, do you know how to solve it, mate?
Copy the twrp folder at data/media/0/TWRP to storage/emulated/0/TWRP and change permissions to chmod 777 (rwxrwxrwx)

You can use the command line in a shell or use a app like root explorer, long press on the folder and you will see permissions in the list, go into there and change accordingly

Tried that but the app couldn't change the permissions.

Please help! "My Files" app 'Downloads' area corrupted

For whatever reason, if I delete files from the "Downloads" section of the "My Files" app, these files (or references to them) aren't completely removed. A residual "0 byte" file with no name and a time date stamp of "December 31, 1969 4:00pm" is leftover. Also, these residual files can't be moved or deleted.
This Downloads section seems to have a relation to the /emulated/0/Download/ folder... although, not the same thing. If I delete the "Download" folder, the "Downloads" section remains unaffected.
In the Windows OS world, I would just run chkdsk to quickly fix the corrupted file indexes on the file system. However, I'm not sure what the equivalent is for an unrooted Android OS.
Things I've tried:
Wipe the cache partition
Delete the /emulated/o/download folder and recreating it again.
Force Stopping the My Files app, clear cache.. clear data.
I REALLY don't want to factory reset my phone, considering how much time I spent configuring all my applications... unless I have absolutely no choice (and know for sure it would fix this issue). This issue is completely over my head. I'm hoping an Android expert will know what to do in this case without having to do a factory reset. Maybe, I can do something via ADB shell?
On non-Samsung phones, (standard on Android OS) people can clear the "app cache" for the "Media Storage" app; and, reboot for files to be re-scanned/indexed. However, I can't find that app on my Note 9. What's the equivalent of doing this on Samsung phones?

Try Media Scanner app from G play store to clear media cache. Did you try some other file manager?
The problem is I don't know where Samsung's "My files" stores it's "Downloads" area. The Media Scanner app had no effect in this area. If I download another file manager, I still won't know where to look for "Downloads". The emulated/0/download folder isn't the same thing, unfortunately. That's the only place I know to look.
