Now that android 4.1.2 update is spreading i wanted to check my camera version on kies but it cant display the software version? so it cant check if i got the latest version?
does anyone have a solution?
I just let my UK Camera go upto 4.1.2 via OTA download, I will not let Kies anywhere near my machines

and what is different in 4.1.2?
No changelog yet - but I *think* the silly SD card popup has gone when the camera boots, plus this should bring the new advanced gallery and photosphere ?

photosphere is only in android 4.2. i only got it when galaxy nexus was 4.2
so not mutch changed

right search is unavailable atm so..
i have with me a test device, with the firmware version being: 1.29.708.4
does anyone know what this is? doesn't seem to be a common version as google turned up very little info.
what is the current HTC One version for public releases?

The latest release for sim free firmware is 1.28.401.7 which is JB 4.1.2
Can you check to see if under settings -> display, gestures & buttons to see if you have a way to remap the menu key to long press back?

Thanks. Also 4.1.2 here. But no remap. Meaning this is one of the newer versions I take it?

That is correct so probably just minor bug fixes, camera enhancements etc
Is there anyway to update firmware apart from OTA through provider? my phone is not rooted

I got a Mi3 today and the camera is not working
It takes a photo and the image appears in the little circle to the left of the shoot button.
The problem arises when i click on the camera roll, nothing happens and no images are stored in the gallery.
Android version 4.3 JLS36C
MIUI Version MIUI 4.3.14
Has anyone a solution?

Go to the updater app in the MI3 and it will automatically check for updates...

It didnt automatically update. I got 4.4 stable from MIUI and installed it.
Ive just one problem , I had the ability to root the phone in the permissions section of the 4.3 version I had.
Is it possible to root the phone.
I also tried updating to 4.8.22 but am told its apicies file and my phone is cancro. Is there a cancro dev rom available?

I found some threads on Chinese form, cannot connect SmartSwitch after root,
I believe Smart Switch only connects when Status is set to Official. I have noticed this with many Samsung Devices.

The issue has been fixed by arter97, you can update to new version 9.1.

i was referring to side sync, still debating whether to root or not and that was something i wanted to know. but thank you anyway, it looks like it is going to work. :]

I use aosp gsi as daily rom on my phone. But it did restore stock rom and update with the February update. I have not noticed any changes from it
If the update is 10, then it may be possible to find the update on Google gsm server.

Sow post about pixel new camera, it work on our pixel 3a didnt find bug so far. To install it you need to download apkmirror instaler from playstore. The last version 8.1 worked here

Clear the local storage of the google play services and try it again, that worked for me..

Yep got it yesterday but the only thing that has changed was the interface I was expecting the cinematic pas and portait nightsight but non of that came with the 8.1update

Yep, got it too finally, it's like you say it. I dont think we will get all the updates that newer models take, A) because of processing power maybe B) because google must sell more newer phones, so if it gives you everything on the older model, you won't buy a new one so soon.
I wish i had the 2 highlight/shadow sliders, would be very handy...
