Elago G6 Leather Flip - Help Me Choose a Color - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Normally I am quite decisive when it comes to style but on this one I'm stuck.
This is an amazing looking high quality case that provides a flip cover along with corner drop protection. I am trying to decide between the orange and white vs the black on black. My phone is white. (They also have blue and white but I don't care for that personally).
My initial preference is the orange because it is cool and different. But as a professional, I don't want to look like I'm carrying my kid's phone so I think maybe black on black is the call. Hard to decide. Here they are. What do you think?

** Looks like this also comes with a free screen protector. Awesome deal for $29.99. I'm really leaning orange because it's different. I've always had black cases. The grain on the orange is really nice.
** I currently own the Samsung OEM flip case which I like very much but the lack of corner protection is making me very paranoid.

That's a really nice flip case... looks like it also comes in a navy blue w/ white: http://www.casefanatic.com/samsung-...ago-g6-leather-flip-galaxy-note-2-n7100-case/

The Tridea case is very similar and same price on Amazon. Advantages of the Tridea are the card holder on the inside of the flap and the leather on the back is recessed into the plastic case, not just tacked on top (extra thickness).
I also like the contrasting inside color of the Tridea.

I've read in a number of reviews on the Tridea that the flip cover hinge is too long so the cover doesn't always remain in place. Also, it appears that on the Tridea case they have for some reason left the top right hand corner with no corner protection at all - odd choice. As for holding cards, I would never put cards in my phone as I always have my wallet with me.
Here's what one reviewer said about it:
I love the material and would love to keep it. But after inserting the phone in the plastic case (back cover) which was actually a perfect fit, the problem was the cover... the cover needs to be held by hand to cover the screen evenly. The left side flap joining the back and front was way too long. Thus it was not a tight fit and if you try to make it a tight fit (but pressing the left side flap) the cover goes out of the screen towards to the right. The other flip cover that I own have a very nice fit. I wished this one too as I would want to keep this as I like the material and color very much.

That reviewer said "the cover itself is not strong enough, faux leather was slightly bent and peeling out of box for me..." In the other reviews I've read online no one else mentioned anything like this. Elago is a well established and regarded brand. I would be quite surprised if they put out some pure crap on this one. As he mentions, his may have just been a lemon - who knows - again no other reviewers I read mentioned this. He also mentioned a lack of indent for the home button but fails to mention the case comes with a screen protector which would render such an indent unnecessary, at least with this deal.
Oh well, I have found Amazon returns to be excellent so I may take the plunge on the Orange one.

Ordered the orange one. Not that many reviews for the Note 2 version yet but lots for the SIII and they seem to love it.
Will post a review once I receive it.

Here's an Amazon Review from someone who just bought this case:
Because there were only two short reviews when I purchased mine, I was pretty skeptical that the reviews might not have been objective, but these are my honest feelings.
First, you have to want a "flip case". They are certainly a tad bit more inconvenient than non-flip cases, and this case does not have a hole cut out for the volume on the left hand side (which I am glad that it doesn't, because it would degrade the looks of the case). That being said, that's the only minor thing that I can find to say negative about the case.
The case actually came before I was able to get my Note 2, so I took it into the store when I picked up my phone. The Verison salesman who sells bunches of cases mentioned more than once that he REALLY liked my case, and that he agreed that it was much better than the Verison case.
The fit is PERFECT.
The feel is WONDERFUL.
And the overall look is definetly an strong upgrade to the phone. Very Elegant.
It doesn't have "Verizon" stamped all over it, or for that fact any other obnoxious writing. So many of the cases out there look like they are targeting the younger crowd, but not this one. Finally, there is a great case for the professional, instead of someone who goes to work on a skateboard. The looks of this case are very conservative, it feels solid in the hand and it just reeks of quality.
That's about all I can say. If I run into a negative, I will definitely post a revision of my first impression (after 3 days), but I don't think that's going to happen.
It's REALLY nice.

Doh!. I had one, but the back started peeling off. Fit was perfect. I returned it and ordered another one, but this one has the issue with the side being too long. It flops around everywhere! Well, may return and try the Elago. Let us know your thoughts on it.

Got the orange and white Elago. Quality is good but the orange is really a light orange and not the tanned leather look you see in the pictures. Returning it.
Have decided to just stick with my SAMSUNG flip case and use a lanyard fed through the speaker hole in the back to prevent against accidental drops.
Actually a nice solution.

Review: Blue hard plastic case and screen protector (eBay) - £2.69 delivered

IMPORTANT: See 'red' update at bottom of post
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Here is a small review of a case and screen protector I bought from eBay for my HD2.

Why did I buy this?
I wanted a cheap case that would add a layer of protection to my device. I also happen to drive a cobalt blue colour car with plenty of matching blueness inside it, this one looked like it'd fit in!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Pros:
- Looks great
- Low profile - doesn't add any bulk to the device
- Perfect tight fit, the phone certainly and case certainly aren't going to separate
- Decent quality material - hard plastic, not the 'floppy' silicone style of cheap iPod cases
- Nothing important is covered - speaker, side buttons, camera lens and flash are all visible and accessible.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Cons:
- Screen protector fitted the screen 'too' perfectly - the blue case clips around the front side of the phone which caused the protector to come up and bubble on one side. I tried everything to try and fix this, but ended up cutting the protector down the side slightly making it look much less appealing but fit. Unfortunately this messing around caused much dust to connect under the protector making it look much less appealing and bubbly. Since yesterday I've taken the protector off, binned it and am using the phone fine without it. In fact, since removing the protector I'd say I get a slightly better response from my phone when typing.
- Shipped (obviously) from Hong Hong, took about 14 days to arrive. This goes without saying though!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Conclusion: A very appealing and cost effective plastic case for your HD2. I feel like I can 'use' the phone now, without worrying about scratching the back on the phone placing it on hard surfaces, etc. It looks fantastic and fits the phone's form factor perfectly. The screen protector is a novelty, perhaps you'll have more luck with it than I did, but I'd not recommend factoring it into the price. Overall, a good purchase that I plan keeping connected to my phone for a long time.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Link to product page: Purchase
UPDATE: As I've only just got my HD2 I've been removing the back a fair bit, swapping sims, general messing about, etc. After I'd settled down I left the case on for a few days without removing. Today I've removed it to find 1. Chips to the paintwork at the top right of the phone and 2. The blue dye from the case leaked onto the back of the phone (around the speaker/lense/flash), to the back bottom and around the sides. My XDA-friends - F*CK this case. I'll try and provide pics if I find my digicam. BUY SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T CLING TO THE PHONE - I'm going to look for a nice flip or wallet style case. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
Update: It would seem that the seller I got the above case from is now stocking other blue cases, but they appear to vary from the one I reviewed. Note that the review is for the case pictured at the top of the post, not the 'silicone 2 part' case found here.
Chances are the case reviewed is being stocked everywhere and you're likely so stumble across it. Hope the post helps someone out!
nice review it looks like good stuff for your money! too bad i allready ordered a capdase aluminium case
bad quality
I bought the same case (in black color) from an ebay seller called "sodapowder".
Shipment out of Honk Kong took 5 days to Japan.
Mine came without screen protector, but reading the above, I have not missed much
Unfortunately the case is of poor quality.
The first one I received had very sharp edges at the bottom side of the phone, close to the headphone socket.
In fact I slightly cut my finger on it.
After complain to the seller he immediately sent a replacement.
The replacement was manually reworked to remove the sharp edges (which from my point of view come from the molding process).
The new case however is loosing it's "rubber" coating after only 4 days of normal use.
I am going for a refund and will find my self an different case.
Very unfortunate though, as I liked the thin profice perfect fit.

Sorry to hear you got a lousy case, though I'm not entirely sure we got something from the same factory (or at least same batch). The edges of my case are relatively smooth, definitely not sharp. I've been using mine since the 18th and so far no signs of wear or discolour, though I'll be keeping an eye on it.
The edges on mine don't appear to be manually rounded or smoothed so I'd think this was done in the molding process in my batch.

Thanks, yeah for under £3 delivered I think it's a very good buy! Chances are I'll be looking towards a leather 'flip' or wallet-style case too as out in the rain last night I figured I could do with something to protect my poor HD2. Then again, I shouldn't even be trying to use it in the rain - but who could resist being outside and STILL looking at their weather screen 'just to be sure'?
Post updated - avoid this god damned case! Advise everyone against purchasing it!
Don't try and protect your expensive gadget in this sort of tat. I will melt this tripe on behalf of everyone who respects their phones on XDA.
If a mod sees this, could you put [AVOID] in the subject line of this thread?
Sad
Personally, if it helps, after two weeks of use, I'm in LOVE with this wallet! £3.49
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-BLACK-LEATHER-WALLET-CASE-POUCH-FOR-HTC-HD-2-HD2-II_W0QQitemZ200435711374QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item2eaae63d8e
I have the same case, albeit in red, and I can confirm that the die does stain the HD2 and removing and replacing the case has damaged the finish on the top two corners of my phone. And quite frankly, I serious doubt it would provide any real protection.
That said, I like the look and feel of the case and continue to use it. I find the rear of the HD2 bland and boring...
I Totally agree. AVOID these hard plastic cases.
When i 1st bought it, i bought a pack of 3 different colors.
When i 1st tried i was really happy with the looks specially with the blue one.
Next day i was wearing brown, so i thought why not put on the red one.
When i removed the blue one, Damn there were blue paint smudges around the corner of my phone. Crap, they are stuck there, no matter what i tried they ain't
coming off.
Yep, it's been a few days now since removing the blue case and the leaked substance from it is still very much attached to my phone (most noticeably on the back)
I can only imagine the amount of Leo's this tripe is going to cosmetically ruin, thanks a lot, China!
On a plus note the cosmetic damage has caused me to not worry so much about getting the odd scratch on it from now on, so I'm using it as I should (still obviously not trying to drop it if I can help it!)
Hopefully this thread will stop a few people from wasting their money on these things, in which case I'll just be glad I could sacrifice some of my HD2's looks for the greater good!
do you think if you took some sand paper to it it would be a nicer fit or is it unsalvageable?
Another AVOID advice
And once again - BEWARE of snap-on hard cases! I mean you have to be very careful and do not go for the cheapest ones. Personally me - I would stay clear of any hard case/housing that touches the phone, as - yes - the painting of case is rather weak and comes off easily from daily usage. My sad experience with one of them, very similar to this one brought me to this rather obvious conclusion. What happened is that in 3 weeks gray paint/covering of my HD2 was damaged wherever it touched the sturdily snapping hard case - on the corners battery cover (where the gray plastic body of HD2 slightly is raised comparing to lower battery cover) - I will post photos of it.
Then I ordered a leather pull-case, and i am happy with it. Here is my positive review for it

What are people using for Samsung Focus cases?

What case are you using -- and if you bought it online - from where?
Thanks!
Using a Louis Vuitton case that fit the previous HTC Fuse as well. Case is no longer available from LV tho.

That one looks pretty decent from this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835323 )
Maybe move this to accessories? I don't know!
I'm using the Body Glove case they sold at AT&T.
It looks really sharp, and feels safe; it even adds some heft that gives the phone a more solid weight and feel.
My only beef with the case is that the side buttons are hard to find, and hard to feel when pressed (makes focusing while picture taking extremely difficult).
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...sku4980540&source=ECbn000000000000O#tabModule
Under comp accessories, the Body Glove item...
I'm using the CaseMate red and black case from the AT&T store. I would have preferred it in all black as opposed to the bright red, but the thing feels very safe for taking to the gym and it adds some heft to it. The raises rubber edges on the front are a nice touch too for the few times I've had the phone face down. The buttons are very easily accessible. My only gripe would be that the two level camera button is a little bit harder to get to use for focusing-- it requires a bit more finesse as a light press will go straight to taking a picture. Other than that, if you can get past the looks of it (which really aren't that bad), I think this is a fantastic case.
Here is what I got today from eBay, the seller is Bluedot.
The fit it really good. Not too tight to activate buttons, not too loose either.
The color is a really dard brown. The flash made it look lighter than it really is.

These pictures were taken with the Focus, then I massaged them in Photoshop Elements 8
The construction seems durable. It cost $9.95 plus shipping.

This case sucks. I bought one from AT&T, and it doesn't fit correctly. You can see the gap from the case to the phone looking into the side where the power button hole is. I'm returning mine as its NOT what i would expect for $30 plus tax. Right now im using my old Nexus One pouch that i tore a small hole on the side to prevent the power button from being mushed in.
PS: to my above post. i see the same case on eBay (i have zero affiliation yet this does look authentic and not a knock off case). See
http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Louis...315509?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3360ad80b5
The top flap does not really work due to the 'extra' height of the phone itself, so i just have it naturally fold behind the phone itself. Note in the side photo it does not touch the power button, so it works well and if i need to silence an incoming call it is easy. Removing and inserting the phone is also easy.
Again, i have zero affiliation with the eBay auction yet this case works well for me.
I have an Incipio hard case that I bought at my local AT&T store. These pics are crappy but I just made them in the last five minutes.
I found this Samsung Galaxy S case at Circuit City and it fit the Focus like a glove! It's not bad, and I found it at a retail location, so that's also kind of a bonus. Hopefully more good ones will come out soon!

I've got one too. I like it, though I also don't mind that it does not cover the top, bottom, or front of the phone.
If that's a problem, then I hope you like having a bright red case because the Body Glove is awful, which leaves your only other choice the bright-red Case-Mate.
I just ordered this, its the only Snap on Hard Case i could find. Hopefully its decent, but for $6 it was worth a try.

I'm not really a case kind of guy, but do hate the glossy surface of the back of my focus. Has anyone come across any back plates for the phone with a different surface? A back cover with a soft touch material would make the phone perfect. Thanks in advance...

The invisible shield covers come in a matte style for the back of the phone. I use it and like it.
I bought this the other day,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DFBBCE/ref=oss_product
So far i like it, there are nobs on the side instead of cutouts for buttons, and they work as if they weren't there.
The case protects the back camera lens and covers a bit of the front. The areas where it covers on the front basically masks the edges of the screen protector, which makes it look really clean.
The added silicon near the bottom prevents my palm/fingers from accidentally pressing the capacitive keys, which are a big plus for me
Case-Mate Red/Black POP Case is the one I have, and its the best case out. I wish they made it in ALL black. The case provides great protection, Already dropped it a few times getting out of my car, and the case held up great. You buy a phone like this please dont buy cheap arse $5.00 case from ebay. Dont buy the Incipio, that case is garbage. No protection at all.

Review: Rearth Ringke Case (Pictures Galore!!!)

Just got my Rearth Ringke case for the Nexus S.
Aqua Black in color which is transparent.
Background: I purchased the Best Buy Platinum Series Combo Case (rebranded Seidio Innocase Surface) when I first bought my Nexus S on release date Dec. 16, 2010.
Unfortunately because of the curvature of the Nexus S, this case isn't as high quality as Seidio's previous Innocases for other phones. I've stopped using it and only use the Sprint-Clip Holster along with other cases. Here is my post (just pictures) about the Platinum/Seidio case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875231
In looking for other cases, I purchased a really cheap TPU style case on eBay, and have been using it. I'm ok with it, but there are some issues that I do not like (volume/power buttons are flush and hard to push/find).
Review: Received the Rearth Ringke case today for my Nexus s.
Packaging was great. Sturdy box, mailed from Louisiana. The actual packaging for the case is nice too.

I'm not sure if it's because of the transparent color/material, but it's very silicone like, and very squishy. The eBay TPU case I have was very hard.
It's easy to put the phone in the case, but because of how "squishy" it is, once you get the phone in, it is not perfecly in. You'll need to move it around and adjust the case and line up the camera/flash/speaker holes. My eBay TPU case, once I put the phone in, it fits perfectly in and no adjustments needed. I've only had this Ringke case today, so I will see how it lasts for the next few days and see if in the normal use of my phone if the case will move around and misalign.
So how does it feel? To me it feels pretty good. It's very thin and has some kind of texture in it. I've read others saying it's slippery and offers no grip. I disagree. There is a matte sort of feeling and it's not slippery at all.
You can see in some of the pictures, the Ringke logo is on top of the Samsung logo, visible in the transparent Black Ash colored case. This doesn't matter in the solid non transparent colors, but in this particular case, I would have prefered if they moved the Ringke logo up a bit as to not block the Samsung logo.
I noticed on the power button, there is a picture of a power icon. Nice touch but not sure if it's necessary since it's almost impossible to see. (The actual Nexus S does have a power icon on the power button, that's probably why they did it).
A huge plus with this case vs other TPU cases, the Power button/Volume control actually works! They stick out a bit and you can actually feel the buttons and press it with a nice feel and the buttons work!
I like the little indentation above the speaker hole, the raised edges around the camera hole, and the little notches above the FFC and Light Sensors. You can tell they did some design work on the case to make it a little different.
Also, the phone with the Ringke Case fits my Platinum Series Spring Clip Holster. That is a major plus.
All in all, this is a very nice case. Steps above cheap HK eBay cases. The price is line with similar style (non eBay) cases.

Does the case feel like it will start rubbing off? Like rubber cases that if you slide in and out of jeans pockets will start to peel and whatnot.

Very Happy with this case, good texture, very good fit. It protects enough for the everyday normal usage and very occasional drops (don't tell me you never drop things...). I got the black one.
I ordered a tougher one for when I do all my crazy cycling, climbing, travelling, running, hiking, etc... so it can safely take a few more higher&tougher impacts.

Can you tell me if the case can be bought in stores in the US?
My brother is currently in the US and I'd ask him to bring me one along ...
I have both ...both great case minimal bulk added and love the back finish doesn't collect sweat/.fingerprints
the plus on the Rearth Ringke is the buttons they seem to stick out so easier to find were the case on the right they dont.
And the cut outs are slightly better
But the case on the right has a glossy finish on the front and IMO looks better like the phone has no case on
Both are great cases TPU is much better than silicone cases that get sweaty and lose shape after a while

I was able to find one or two other retailers via Google Shopping, but their price was the best (with free shipping). I was impressed. It was basically next day from LA to CA (although YMMV).
Also, I wanted to add, I have a Casemate Pop, Seido Active X, and this case. The Ringke is my favorite out of all of them thus far.
As far as the feel of it is, I liken it to the feel of the Nexus One's Teflon exterior.
I just bought two of these for my girlfriend and myself (i9020T) and we're both very happy with it. Sticks well to the phone, not too heavy/bulky and looks good. My only gripe with it is that the Black is not really that black in person like it is in the promo pictures

Did you get black or aqua black? Black has been out of stock which might explain the discrepancy you're seeing

Only thing thinner is the Incipio Feather case. But it's not going to offer the same degree of protection.

i wish they came with a clear case!. i bought a white nexus s, and would love to see the white beneath the case lol. the clear cases i've found look cheap and bulky. but i did find a really good case, i am rockin Proporta's Mizu Shell in charcoal. Has a great feel and fit to it but again, i wish it was clear, as it only comes in charcoal. anyone know a good clear and slim case?
Thanks for the review! Once I had found out OtterBox wasn't releasing one for the Nexus S I couldn't decide between this and the Ultra Silke. I Ordered the Rearth one after reading this review. Only wish they had Black in stock, and quicker shipping to Canada..
Does this case make it hard for you to access the phone in your pockets? I bought a silicone one it was really hard to put it in and take it out of the pockets.
I usually wear jeans...
This looks like exactly what I want. Thanks for the thorough review.

luckyexpress168 - Ultra Thin Slim Pu Case - quick review and pics.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/15088047618.../sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=150880476182&_rdc=1
I ordered the case on 20th August and it arrived yesterday 31st so not bad from HK to the UK signed for delivery.
The case is very slim, in one of the pics I've included a 5 pence piece for comparison, the case is almost exactly the same thickness as the coin at about 18mm closed.
It looks very smart and the chrome strip for the magnetic closure looks better than I'd expected. The case section is hard plastic like many others and has a soft neoprene style backing to it. The N7 clips in very securely (I've yet to figure out how to get it out again...) and is protected all round. All the cutouts are in the right place and nicely bevelled, the on/off switch and vol controls have their own cutouts which makes finding them easier than my previous case,
In the open stand position the nap of the cloth interior holds the N7 at the angle you want, nice touch. No auto on/off magnet, but that's just a lazy mans gimmick anyway and doesn't bother me as long as the switch is easy to get to. You can see in the second picture the speaker grill and the PU material the 'hinge' strap is made from, because of the way it's made there's a bit of rotational play to the cover when closed but not too much, time will tell if that increases or not.

Is it possible to fold the cover back completely, how does it look?
Yes it is possible, the cover folds back flat and stays flat without any pressure.
even cheaper
Found a cheaper one from the ausies for $13.4 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTRA-SLIM-...ccessories&hash=item46078371f9#ht_6402wt_1194
It comes without the metallic Nexus7 part, I prefer this version.
I'd like to hear the OP thinks based on the photos, is this the same product or a cheaper/inferior replica?

Looks pretty much the same, except without the chrome strip as you say. the magnet is built in to the case so I assume there must be some metal strip in the cover to keep it shut. Auction doesn't give any details though.

I asked the ebay seller. I am afraid that the metallic label and the magnet are missing from this case. I cannot understand how it remains closed.

hhmm, maybe that's why it's cheaper? or maybe there is a metal insert inside the cover that connects with the magnet.
I just got mine in today and I actually like it a lot. It has a nice soft leather feeling in hand and the plastic back feels quite sturdy. The tablet really clicks into the back solidly, it actually takes some work to remove it from the case. The construction is pretty nice, it has the felt on the inside of the lid and the plastic, the cutouts are nice (especially the separate power button) and the magnet holds it closed firmly.
The downsides are minor, the lid is a little oversized and doesn't lock into place when closed. It can wiggle and twist around some. Other then that it looks nice and feels nice, it compliments my bulkier Portenzo case well
I've found a good use for the chrome N7 strip, I bought an Appldea Maglus stylus and it has a strong magnet in it which holds it onto the metal very securely.

Confirmed: There is no magnet in this cheaper version.
Is anyone concerned about that metal strip contacting the screen and scratching it? Looks like a nice case though. Thanks for the review and pics.
very nice review. may consider getting one of these!

No. the magnet in the base is slightly raised so the chrome strip does not come into contact with the screen when closed. Use a screen protector anyway, they are so cheap it's daft not to.

I have this case as well, though I haven't written a review on it. My recommendation: DO NOT BUY.
First off, the biggest miss in this case is no sleep/wake magnet. On top of that, its difficult using the case as a stand for the tablet. Although the cover looks and feels good (almost like leather), $20 is way too expensive for something that is lacking a smart-cover feature, a mechanism to use it as a stand, and fake leather.

I have to disagree, Asus/Google very kindly provided us with an on/off button and I don't mind using it, I don't need a 2 cent magnet to do the job for me. I've also not had any problem using the case as a stand when I've wanted to, as explained above the nap of the cloth interior holds it nicely for me.
$20 is at the top of the cheaper end of the range but it's hardly bank robbery, I've bought a number of cheaper cases and all of them do the job to a greater or lesser extent but all of them look cheap compared to this one.
Each to their own though, ymmv etc. the world would be a dull place if we all thought the same.

When you can't decide on a Skin... Go Elago

So, this is not a sponsored post. I had this case on my S8+ and it immediately changed the look of my phone and made it look good. I've decided to put this on my Note8.
3 quick notes.
1. This is SUPER thin. There is no protection if you drop this phone.
2. This is a PERFECT fit. Trying to use this over a skin or if you have a metal plate for your magnetic car stand will not work correctly.
3. There is no lip at the top. Do not place this face down.
With that said, this is not my every day case but looks good when you want to go almost bare.

I would be really interested in buying one of these however reading this concerns me a little...
I have a Ringke Invisible Defender Screen Protector (here)
It wraps around the phone onto the back so i guess it will not fit well with this protector if you say even a skin would interfear with it

That's 100% correct. Think of trying to put a wrap on top of a wrap. Even though they are both thin the one on top will be off by a bit.
I brought this up because with the last phone review I did on a case like this someone tried to put their case on with a wrap and they were bitter about the fit.

I really like these bear motion cases. They're done pretty good work on these, but I don't like that it doesn't go up the top and bottom and there's something to be said for the case wraps around the buttons versus a cut out and it stops. I'm kind of picky in that regard.

FYI on ali express and dhgate, these types of cases are like $1.00.
Just keep in mind they take a few weeks to get here from China.

Yeah, I'm ok with not using Ali Express. Most of that stuff is junk and then if you complain it takes weeks to get another one. Sizing is almost always off.
Even though the stuff on Amazon is almost exactly the same at least you get some sort of quality control. The sellers there don't want to get booted.
i had the black bear motion for my black note 7. it was sexy as ****. and the sandpaper like grit was superb!

I gave the same on my note 8 and it fits like a glove. I take the risk. If something happens it's on me. But I'm not gonna not use the screen and phone the way it was designed to be used.
Question: Are the sides easily bendable or movable with the eLago case? The "problem" I face with these very thin cases are that due to the nature of the cutouts and the flimsiness of the case, the sides (mainly the left side) move too easily and it drives me crazy sometimes. Especially when I attempt to take it off my car mount where only the sides are being clenched to hold the phone. I know I am being finicky, but hey, I have every right to be.
Trying to figure out whether I want the white or black one. How easy does the white get dirty?

I like the white. It's really a cool offset and your phone is black already. So what's the point.

This is a solid question. While the case is a perfect fit, the issue that I ran into with my S8 Plus is that the case did start to Warp above the power button about four months in. I shot the company a message on Amazon and they sent me a new one out no questions asked. So, it is a thin case but the customer service is above and beyond and that makes up for it
