Half decent cheap tpu cases? - Galaxy Note II Accessories

I'm looking to buy two or three cheap tpu cases to mod to go with my flip covers. I want just cheap ones for now to see if I like them or not. Does anyone have a link to ones they like? Ive checked ebay but its always a gamble. If this is in the wrong section I apologize. Thank you in advance.

you get what you pay for. if your going to cheap out on such a phone, don't come back complaining your screen is broken.

Edit: I got a little hostile. I have bought nicer cases but id rather not cut them apart. I'm not looking for an otterbox but something to try out some color combos and get my cuts down.

Dx.com has a bunch of cheap bumper cases for around $3 in multiple colors that match the flip case colors. I would check them out.

does anybody know where can i find an all clear tpu casing? been searching online for one, but to no avail

LOL we need to know your definition of cheap, but as adrenalinemotion said, go with diztronic. It's not expensive, I'd say not very cheap either, but it is close to being cheap. The quality is top notch I promise. I never go with TPU case as their nature of loose edges allowing dusts and the like get inside between the case and the phone, but with diztronic I'm loving it. For color-wise, they only have clear, black and glitter white/clear but I think they will have more coming soon.

I got myself the Mercury jelly case. I think it's fairly decent for its price. Personally it's just something to tide me over until I get a better case (probably the UAG one).

The "sparkly" design (shiny little dots all over the case) makes it look classier than your average plain TPU case. Overall I'm very satisfied with the material , cut-outs and I think the phone fits snugly into it (perfect fit imo). My only gripes are
1. the exposed top right corner (I know its for the antennas for the Korean models but still...)
2. the volume rocker cut-out (I can press it without any problems but it just doesn't feel nice to me.)
3. Edges are raised too little to offer much protection to the screen.

Id rather go for the Samsung case than that Diztronic case. Thats too expensive to be considered cheap. With 50 off the Samsung case comes out to 15.

I really like the first one because it also comes with a stand and it fits nicely. The second one I use when I go to the theme parks (I don't carry any bags if I don't have to... makes it faster to go through security). The third one I haven't tried yet, still on the truck from CA.

I saw $13 body gloves today.

Much cheaper and more readily available, although I'm sure that Case-Mate case is probably better built and stronger.
american sites are a joke, they charge us in UK over $25 for shipment and if you in USA want to buy anything from UK shops it will cost you only £3.50,stuppid,i would never recommend anyone get from them is a rip off

The Amzer from Fommy is generic and is tough to find at the moment. Was thinking of purchasing 30 or 50 for around $5 and reselling. Make around $5-6 a pop and it'd be worthwhile to throw a mailing label on it and give to the postman. Could do some of them as a group buy on here for cost if there was enough interest. I really want the one I link to in the bottom paragraph.
I have a similar one that has a jointed kickstand on the case itself which serves as a great fingerhold to make the phone more one hand-able. Though you could do the same with the Amzer one if you left it in the holster, screen out. It just adds to the bulk. I just had this one ship which is the same as the other amazon link, but actually in stock. Not sure how that stand will work as a finger hold, but we'll see.
This is the one I have for the S3, and I hope they make it for the Note 2 as that will definitely be my go to case with it. I get the tips of my fingers resting comfortable at the far edge of the case. Raise my hand higher and allows my thumb to easily extend to every part of the phone. It's the gripping of the far edge that makes the larger phones less one handed.
I found this one. It's not a name brand that I've heard of but it's a dual layer case with a kickstand.

If you don't need the case and are only looking for the kickstand, try FlyGrip. Mine got mailed out today, so I can't say how they work on the Note 2 yet.

Well I'll find out by the end of the week. I just bought 100 of them. Get the itch to resell once in a while. If they're loose, I'll let you know. They've had good reviews in general. I'm using the tpu kickstand one now because it was cheap. The standard is okay. Have to trim down another invisible shield because they cut them too big and it's peeling around some of the edges. If any one throws on a protector, make sure it's cut small enough to come inside that raised glass edge.

Casemate pop w/ kickstand

I posted a few pics of this case in some other threads but after a few days with the case i feel its needs its own thread. This case is an awesome case. I purchased it for $40 at an at&t store and replaced my sprint bodyglove with it. The cas3 feels better in my hand then the bodyglove. It definitely feels like it would protect better if i drop it. It fits very good nice and tight. It has a really nice gloss finish and the kickstand really comes in handy when my sons watching movies. I was gona get the otterbox commuter but im liking this case so much i think this ones a keeper. I highly reccomend this case

Hmmm so far i havent had any issues. Also i had this case for my s3 bc like now it was the only good case that seem to be instock when the phone 1st came out and also just like now i had to buy it from an at&t store. But once the s3 was out for about a month as we all know every company was pumping out cases and i was switching cases every week. Ended up with an atomic green commuter but was about to go back to the casemate then i sold my s3. Its an awesome case

I like the Pop Case as well. I had it for the GS2, GS3 and now the Note 2. It's very solid for protection and there is enough edge covered to protect the phone when it is turned face down. My favorite things about the case is the grip. It's enough to securely hold the phone and not too much that you have to battle to take it out of your pocket. The power and volume buttons are covered just right as far as no accidental presses while still being easy to press.
I don't use the kickstand too much but it could be made more solid as the hinge feels very fragile. It does work however in both portrait or landscape placement.

It's also worth mentioning that, unlike most cases like it (at least the ones I've seen), the rubber edge sits perfectly around the edge and does not touch the glass. And it is completely solid and does not move at all, so there is no accidentally slipping it off and loosing protection.

Wow. A VERY helpful post.
And, out of curiosity, what, precisely, is so unreasonable or absurd about his request? Namely, a TPU bumper without an antenna cutout (an antenna which apparently is ONLY available in tiny little Korea and nowhere else in the world) with button cutouts (a preference but apparently not a requirement from the looks of his post)?

If the buttons lined up fine and doesn't need a whole lot of pressure to work the buttons vs uncovered I wouldn't mind. But a few of the cheap cases don't line up and make it more difficult.
But I spent over an hour the other night and I think I found 1 maybe 2. But they didn't do much for me.

That antenna is available in other countries also, like Japan. Not just Korea (not sure if the antenna is even used in Korea.) Don't assume and then post as a fact.
I never called his idea or desire absurd as you say, I just know it doesn't exist.
I've spent hours looking for a decent tpu bumper. I've purchased 2 and they are terrible. A good tpu bumper does not exist for the note 2. That's why I called it a unicorn.

I tried it and it was a failure. Lol A designed/molded one has a finished edge on the lip. This keeps it somewhat rigid and adds strength. When I cut one it got all floppy and flimsy. Didn't work well.

Yeah, I'm slightly worried about that too, but if you think you'll be dropping it, a heavy duty case will likely serve you better. I use a case to avoid scratches and not really for drop protection, which seems to fall in the realm of luck/bad luck.

[PICS] Cruzerlite XDA TPU Case

In case people want to see what it looks like, I'm posting pics. Obviously, it won't provide as much protection as, say, an Otterbox Defender or a UAG but it looks pretty nice. It adds very little bulk and the cutouts are pretty much perfect.
I'm extremely happy with it, even though the shipping to my country cost me more than the actual case.
And pardon the quality of the pictures. I rarely take pictures so I'm not very good at it.

It should be available now, unless Cruzerlite makes them on a per-order basis. If that's the case, it only took a couple of days before I was notified that they had already shipped it.

I like the fact that it covers the bottom and top where most thin cases are lacking. I may have to look into this.
It seems my search for a case may end up running me more than the phone itself until I start RMA'ing em all

At $10, you can't go wrong. But it is really thin and fits really well. I don't think you'll be disappointed should you decide to get one.

How good is the grip? Does it slip out of your hand? (please be honest)

So far, I haven't had any trouble holding on to it at all and it doesn't really feel like I'm gripping my phone any more tightly than I did before. I can imagine why you'd be concerned, though, given the finish. But yeah, with my 'normal' grip, it doesn't feel like it's in any danger of slipping out of my hand/s.
Thanks awestrike. I will put in my order tonight.

It sure is nice looking case, but I changed back to Samsung Note 2 original case almost immediately. Material is much more slippery in xda-case and build quality is okay, but not great.

Pure laziness from case makers...

Anybody else notice the lazy design choices case makers are making?
Like this one -> Case-Mate OLO
And this -> Incipio DualPro
They destroy the look with the back of it where the camera/buttons are. Like they just cut a block out and call it a day.
Then don't buy it...

Uh.. I won't? I'm just asking if anybody else sees this?
I've used these in the past for other phones. But these for this phone look horrible.

They didnt get lazy with the Verizon version: http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartp...s-verizon/dualpro-case-for-lg-g2-verizon.html
But if you notice, it kinda looks like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_bird
Id rather have the "lazy" version
35 for a case mate or 8 for a case off amazon that's not lazy. I'll take amazon.

Ugh - no kidding! The $5 generic TPU case I got on ebay looks better designed than these!
While you may not like the look of those cases. I can attest that the CaseMate does actually protect the phone. My GNex slipped out of my hands atop an 8 foot ladder. It bounced on a step half way down. And no damage ! Try that with one of those $5 cases.
On another note, I'm still waiting for the Spigen Slim Armor case to come out for my Verizon G2.
It would be nice if Otter Box would make a Defender Series Case for the G2. I prefer protection w/holster.
I have the ballistics case . I think it looks great. A little thick, but I know the phones protected

If you guys only knew how much these cases actually cost to make, you would throw up. I know, and it's simply ridiculous.
I won't go into why or how I know, but cases that are selling for $15-30 cost about $0.50-2 max to make. The price to profit margin ratio is even more than clothing which is pretty hard to do lol.

What confounds me is how ugly the back covers (the ones with covered buttons) look, with the exception of the ballistics case.
To me the covered button is a must to space out the distance (through indentation) between the lens and the buttons for my fingers. The Case-mate could be nice but just look at the way the lens opening is designed. Pleah.
I order this case

That's a decent case imo. I looked at it but didn't want the gray color the T-Mobile store has.
