I can pull the untouched radio image using fastboot if you'd like. I just need to get zerg setup on this machine. Enjoy!

[Q] How do you extract modems from complete tar files ?

I'm just wondering how to get the modem files out of the legit samsung tar files. Reason I'm asking is because I run darky's rim and want the most recent modem which is jl2 I think. Thx in advance!

extract the tar files with winrar or something, the modem.bin will be the file you're looking for.

I take the tar file of the full rom, open it in 7zip, and remove everything except modem.bin, and it's flashable via Odin.
This post contains my modem file for JL2 flashable with Odin

No 3G Coverage on ICS(CM9Nightly)

When I had overcome if im not mistaken ICS i had 3g connectivity, but cam wasnt working still, so it was a ROM back in March, came back to the site today, and saw Nightly ROM fixed mostly everything.
Soo, I just put the ZIP folder into tablet, and it installed via recovery and it works fine, but no 3g connectivity.
I even made it go back to Stock Gingerbread, flashed OverCome Kernel via Odin, then installed CM9 again via recovery still no luck.
I keep getting baseband version - P1000XXJPZ
Kernel- 2.6.35.13-g8d814c4
Any help will be appreciated.
What base and you need?
Just get the modem.bin and stick it in /radio/
No need fancy flashing of modem on mtd rom

i dont see a /radio/ in mass storage.
Should I just Download the Modem, and zip it via recovery.?
No,
it is not in Mass Storage
It is in the root of your device.
Use ES Root Explorer
Unzip the modem.zip of your choice
copy the modem.bin to /radio/modem.bin replacing the one there.
Do you know which baseband you need?

Ok, there are some newly packed modem that works from recovery.
But it is completely unnecessary.

Official MF9 tar is up~!

You can download the official Sprint Galaxy S4 MF9 update tar files here~!! :good::laugh:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SPH-L720
Here as well.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SPH-L720&pcode=0#firmware
I haven't finished downloading yet or unzipping to see if the file is correct but the zipped file size sends a bit small for an official ROM. Also, they package the kernel separately? That's weird.
Has anyone used these?
Flash the SPR-L720VPUAMF9-20130626162512.zip via TWRP ?
Then the KERNEL-SPR-L720VPUAMF9-1372121308.tar is flashed via Odin?

I used it myself and it worked very well. For me, a fresh MF9 flash via PC Odin was more stable and smoother than doing the MDL to MF9 update.
If you flash the full MF9 tar, you don't need to go back and flash the kernel tar.
Thank you!
I am on MDL w/ many mods.
I guess I am gonna have to go this route, although, phone is working as I like.
But, I guess I have to continue to move forward?
Sigh, I also will guess after doing this will wipe out everything, and I have to start all over.
Definitely gonna perform a fullbackup first, and then remove my ext. sdram.

Does one lose root and custom recovery if flashed either via odin or via cwm/twrp?
I should say, can i still flash supersu if i flash this file or do i have to reroot/unlock my phone again?

Yes, you'll lose root and custom recovery. After flashing this, use Odin again to flash a custom recovery then flash SuperSU within custom recovery to gain back root.
Is it possible for someone to make a NOData version. (Got kind of spoiled from the E4GT)

Can someone give me the noob guide? Can I flash this over rooted stock and have a "legit" binary when I go into download mode? If so, what's the simplest way to flash?

It's pretty simple. First, backup all your data and media then perform a factory reset from the phone's Setting menu.
Shut the phone down and enter the stock recovery mode. Open Odin on your laptop or desktop, connect your phone, select the tar file, and flash your phone. You'll be back to 100% stock.

I am not very good with the S4 since it is my friends phone I have a note 2. If I flash the full MF9 via odin then all I have to do is CF auto root again and my friend it rooted again?
If I use ODIN do I have to edit ODIN to show phone bootloader update checked before I flash the MF9 tar?
Anyone have a suggestion on how to rooted back once the update to MF9 is done beside CF auto root method?

Yes! Use CF-Autoroot to root and be careful NOT to check anything like repartition etc. or you'll kill your phone.
Check this out for what it should look like.

[Q] Stock Kernel Downloads

I am sure they are on here somewhere. I have been searching for 20 minutes now. I am looking for the newest stock kernel for my htc one.
3.4.10-gcfc57d3 is the one I am looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction, all I can find is all the modded kernels. Thanks.
The firmware contains the boot.img, find the right firmware and extract it from the zip.
A stock backup will also contain it.

Thanks, can I just flash this boot.img with twrp or should I zip it and flash? I found the file in the root of the rom, just wondering the proper way to flash it. Thanks.

fastboot flash boot boot.img
Are you sure you just need the boot.img?
I flashed bulletproof kernel and want to put it back to stock kernal. Will that take care of it for me?

Zipped ROM from Sammobile not flashing

I need to flash a stock ROM on my original Note, so I downloaded a stock ROM zip file from Sammobile and stored it on my internal memory. The current ROM on my Note is the Union ROM LT4, with the latest Speedmod kernel. I went into recovery, wiped data and did factory reset, and then tried to flash the new stock ROM by selecting the zip file, but the flashing fails. I'm not sure why this is happening. Am I missing something?

You need to flash it using Odin( PDA tab ). Unzip the rom file to tar.md5. Phone needs to be in download mode and connected to PC..
