Huge Ups to Tim for CM7!
Experimental LewaOS
LewaOS JB Build 1
This is Jellybean Lewa, do not flash this unless you cannot afford to eat a bad result, this is my first time porting a higher version of Lewa and I'm unsure of what will happen, even though in theory it should be ok.
Flash G-apps sep.

Misc. Notes
Everything should work fine here, outside of issues inherent to our CM7 but I haven't personally tested so you folks know the deal

Sweet looks like an interesting ROM to try. Will report issues. I wanna see how gingerbread is after like almost a year off it
A MUST: GINGERBREAD GAPPS : http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-201108...r mode" it say launcher crashed & forecloses.

sweeet
Tquetski you are awesome.
The issues that I have are the same as Reckyochips. I have one other issue, whenever I hit the power button and turn the screen back on, it shows up the boot animation and freezes, have to pull bat, happens everytime, its like it shuts itself off or restarts.
thanks.

Bump, new build of Lewa that should be stable, It's based on the official Lewa 13.01.25 so fingers crossed, feedback on broken things is appreciated!

I didn't make a new topic but I ported a build of LewaOS that is based on 4.1.
Do NOT flash it unless you're absolutely confident that you can test it and not be personally screwed by a bad result, because I'm not sure how functional it will be, This is the first time I have ever done a higher version'd LewaOS.
That being said I did follow proper procedure to the best of my ability, but I do not know what will happen.
Edit: Since Lewa has an ICS variant as well I'll probably do that and just put all 3 here in the future..

Ok did some testing to Gb Lewa, after first boot is finished there will be an error message that States something has crashed. Hit ok and move on, there will be no data until you do. Second, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to log into your Google account through setup, IT WILL NOT WORK! Not with data or wifi. You need to sign in through settings, accounts and sync. Third is the capacitive backlights will not come on unless you tap the brightness toggle. They stay on till the screen is off, then same deal. There is an app on the market to do this automatically, its called Soft Buttons Light. Lastly same issues as CM7 Usb Icon stays on, and external sd mounts to emmc. So no swap sd! Other than those minor issues the Rom runs smooth and things seem to be working.

Well my curiosity got the better of me, I tried flashing JB Lewa, the result was it gets stuck at the boot screen both with and without Gapps. It went through the Samsung splash, then SGK splash, once it gets to the Lewa bootani it just hangs, I let it sit for 20 minutes both times and it never finished booting. I did try rebooting and still nothing.

Ahh, I should be able to get it working, I'll do the JB Lewa as a side project I guess, all in all I'm not surprised but dang -.-

Take your time, you have a lot of ports going on right now.

If this is GB why does it gave sgk? That was for 4.1
Edit: just read everything disregard

Ever do something you shouldn't have whilst hacking away at your phone, and end up stuck in a bootloop? Of course you have, because we all have. That will soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the Team Hydro Bootmanager. Usually getting to your Android device's bootloader menu or recovery menu involves mashing and holding buttons, pulling batteries, or in the case of some phone (looking at you LG Optimus Black) a bit of luck because there are no button combinations that work. This jewel resides in the boot image on your phone, pauses the boot-up, and lets you choose how you want to proceed. According to lead developer Drew Walton, it works great, it's stable, will run on just about any phone, and will be ready for public consumption very soon.
*Spoiler alert* Drew is also pretty sure he will be able to expand this, using custom recovery builds (like ClockWorkMod recovery) and create a bootmanager with more options. This would of course be more device specific and less portable, but offer a new way to manage your device. You normal, well adjusted users out there may not be as excited as we hacker types are, but all you crack flashers know just how cool this one will be. I can't wait!

Awesome feature indeed...
This developer wants to call in our black Custom Recovery by a combination of keys?
This is very good, if it would be.
There's no need to press any keys at boot...
You have only to reboot and select recovery, like grub or lilo...
The question would be, is there a timer to boot into the default choice?
Regards.
Yeap much like LILO or GRUB in linux, built in boot.img and it seems the bootmanager menu always loaded before other thing, so you can easily recover or select other system setup, and about timer it costumizeable i think. Cmiiw.
try contact the developer, the one in the photo is optimus s. I'm hoping this feature integrated to our roms or mods, and bricking, bootloop, stuck nightmare will be gone forever

The best solution is to put it into bootloader of the phone which can't be erased (by full wipe) and should always works just like SW Upgrade option.
I think it's more hardware-specific, not software so I think we couldn't add that to our P970's. CMIIW.
For me it looks basically the same as Huexxx's eRecovery for Nova/CM7 but don't need keypress and can be erased with wipe, so it's bad...

Yes boot.img i've mentioned cannot be flashed via recovery. You need a higher root level to do it. I don't know how but this hack surely injected to bootmanager and it loads everytime your device power on. Team Hydro haven't released the detail how this hack works. Hopefully soon

Dark Knight ICS ROM Q&A

You have to ask the Glitch's author...
My turn :
1. Does this rom fix the usb transfer issue? Can u show a pic of usb transfer rate?
2. The Xloud is instead of voodoo sound or voodoo sound doesnt support yet?
That's all i want to know to get back to ICS or not. Thank you very much!
Does this ROM have the BLN (back light notification) feature or something similar?
Oh, so Glitch does not work with this ROM? Guess I'm sticking to KK4
I think its time to save money for a new galaxy...

Issues
Issues I have found so far:
1. This has been reported, I know, but I am also having the error with my signal strength being reported constantly as 0dbm and 97asu.
2. I have had a a couple random shut downs. When it shuts down, I cant get it to power back on again unless I do a battery pull; the buttons are non-responsive. This makes me believe that it is going into a lock, but then wont unlock as opposed to shutting down, but I don't know. All I can see is that the screen blinks off (as if i just hit the power button) and then is totally unresponsive.
3. the MIUI style battery bar doesn't rescale when the the phone is put into landscape mode.

4. This is not so much an issues as it is a question. This is the first ICS rom I have run, so I am not familiar with all the ins-and-outs, but is there a way to get a long-press context menu in the contacts app? There are a lot of contacts I would like to join and having to open the contact, press edit, and then press join makes it take exponentially longer. (Also, would like a black themed contacts... but as another user said in the dev section, I can survive without )
Great ROM! Thanks for your work!
Awesome theme!!
**Probably should have posted this question here first**
I want to combine the theme from Dark Knight with the Slim ICS ROM, creating a hybrid version: Dark Slim...maybe?
Copying over .pngs from the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk is fairly straightforward. I assume I'll also need to copy over some of the xml files.
Can anyone tell me which file(s) control the background color within Dark Knight, making it black as seen in the comparison below, instead of the stock grey?
Is the Facebook sync working?

what kernel can i use or is best to oc/uv on this rom?
What is best kernel to install to oc? Or list ones that are compatible?
Thanks
Right now all there is, is the one I included. Glitch won't boot this ROM
Is there any way to put the wifi/bluetooth/GPS/etc. shortcuts into the notification bar?
I'd like to be able to access these from anywhere.

Joining paulw793!
Can this ROM obtain the extra feautures?
After updating from 1.0 to 2.1. Notification light no longer work any suggestion to get it back? Tried to install BLN but I guess its not supported with the kernel.
Complete noob to installing roms and so forth but all i want to ask is....My cappy has DLEV Rom 5.0 with GB Bootloaders.... can i load this rom? ....or will i have to go back to stock....
Reason i'm asking, saw some conflicting posts in the main thread and got a bit confused
Baseband: i9000UGKC1
No, you can flash this over your GB ROM, just make sure to flash this ROM twice
when you say flash twice what do you mean? .....Load rom.zip on..... wipe..... flash....wipe again.....reflash? ....
TV Out
I could not find the TV out in the display is this cause it was a port from a different phone or is this something that is not implemented in this version of the firmware. I love Dark Nights, but I use this feature a lot.
Thanks for any reply that may come.

Well, if you haven't loaded anything yet on the phone you can probably just flash it again after you flashed it the first time(saying that you've stayed in the Recovery mode), but if you want to stay on the safe side yes, wipe Cache and System/Factory Reset.
thanks for the responce cOld1.....

[ROM][BETA TEST] Resonance Rom v1b [SCREENSHOTS!]

ATTENTION ALL: I HAVE NO LONGER GOT THE 5830I, SO AS A RESULT ANY AND ALL PROGRESS ON THIS ROM WILL CEASE (for now). I WILL REQUEST THREAD CLOSURE UNTIL I CAN START WORK AGAIN. SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO POST THIS. HAPY ROM HUNTING EVERYONE.
MOD PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD
SCREENSHOTS ADDED!
Screenshots will be uploaded, however at the minute my internet is very bad, so just upoading the rom is bad enough
After roughly six or seven days of playing around with multiple roms (both stock and custom) I have decided to make/release my own for XDA.
For the minute this rom is mainly just Themed with a few tweaks here and there, but as development continues I hope to totally revamp the entire look (and maybe even the feel) of the Phone.
Whats Included:
QuickPic 2.6 replacing Gallery3D
HoloLauncher
Chainfire3D
Domscript v1 by domnic79
15 Toggle & 6 Lock Screens by Alucard1989pl
New Boot Animation Included
A couple new Ringtones/Alarms
Default Font is set to 'Veggie Burger Med'
A few wallpapers
Not much else I'm afraid as of yet
This rom SHOULD would on any baseband, however i have not tested it on every one
Caution: This update should be strictly applied to the S5830i and is not for S5830 model. If you attempt to install this rom on a standard S5830, you are a fool. You have been warned
Disclaimer: Neither I nor XDA can be held responsible if anything goes wrong with your device during or after flashing this rom. By downloading this rom you agree to the fact that if you break your phone, I'ts not my fault. however, if after installing this rom it doesn't work...please don't hesitate to contact me directly and I will try my best to resolve your problem.
By now everybody should know how to install a custom rom, but for those who don't follow this guide:
Turn off your phone
Go into recovery mode by holding Home screen button + Power button + Volume up key
OPTIONAL but recommended: Backup your existing rom
Select "wipe data/reset" and complete the action
Select "wipe cache partition" and complete the action
Select "install update from sd" and select the file ResonanceV05b.zip
Reboot your phone
OPTIONAL: Enjoy your new rom
Prerequisites :
A Rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i
Clockworkmod Recovery or RZrecovery
An open mind
Bugs:
QuickPic decides it will force close upon opening until you reinstall it via a root explorer app.
V1 Changelog:
Custom Boot animation (that should work now)
15 Toggle & 6 Lock Screens by Alucard1989pl fixed (i hope)
Attempted to change the dialer theme slightly
Reworded the UpdateScript when flashing.
DOWNLOAD LINKS!
Removed because of bugs....

Huge Ups to Tim for CM7!
Ok did some testing to Gb MIUI. Here are some issues. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to log into your Google account through setup, IT WILL NOT WORK! Not with data or wifi. You need to sign in through settings, accounts and sync. Second is the capacitive backlights will not come on unless you tap the brightness toggle. They stay on till the screen is off, then same deal. There is an app on the market to do this automatically, its called Soft Buttons Light. Thirdly same issues as CM7 Usb Icon stays on, and external sd mounts to emmc. So no swap sd! Other than those minor issues the Rom runs smooth and things seem to be working.

Broken LED lights is FW related, I will decompile this later, Lewa shares the same issue.
LED light issue should be solved (thx Tim!) and speed and battery tweaks have been applied, everything should for real work so I'm going to go ahead and call this finished until CM7 gets updates (If ever)

Yep, It's currently fatally broken in this build in services.
Bump, replaced with a port of MIUI Life V5 from the Galaxy Ace folks, this can be used as a Daily Driver and does include the native MIUI Camera that can take HD photos as well as CM7s for compatibility reasons; It's also worth noting even though MIUI v3 is older It has the most customization options so things in the status bar like brightness slider must be set to 'manual' in system settings to enable it
Also the Google keyboard from 4.2 Is also on the market from Google

I think it is long process... I tried to port MIUI v5 for XT907 on stock base.. It just wont work.. ((
Update: I've almost completed stock MIUI, I've confirmed it WILL be usable in safestrap devices.
I've almost completed MIUI Kitkat for the whole device tree; it should be available for testing tonight and is very close to being finished right now.
Stock ROM is nearly finished; but I will only be maybe providing OTA update to CM based MIUI because it makes more sense and because having to do stock for locked BL took significantly longer than I expected.
Edit 2: I'm Tquetski, for anyone who doesn't know :<
Uploading now, forgive my ISP speed.
As usual this is a preview, not a final build and broken things can be expected
I keep lying, I fixed all misc errors relating to this build and will proceed with uploading now for various devices, XT926 people be patient please :>
Tried it last night, everything run smooth, especial for alpha.
Not working list is bigger for me : contacts also not working it gives me android.acore error.

The thing is that stock can be OTA'd, patch won't accept that so I'm eating the bitter apple first

Everything is now functional beside Update, Backup and Theme-Manager.
Even though I have updated MIUI theme manager seems to force-quit. I'm not entirely sure what to do about it Jing is the only other developer I've heard of resolving this issue. I sent him a PM and hopefully will hear back because I am not really positive what the issue is.
I will avoid posting another build until I can get word on Themes but if a few days go by I'mm just put it up because outside of that everything is pretty much stable
Ok, I got it fixed; I'd like to thank myself because no other dev had input
