Looking for a silicone or rubber slip on case for the nook HD+ - Nook HD, HD+ Accessories

Just bought the HD+, running cm10 from sdcard and now I need to get rolling on accessories. Anyone turn up a slip on case? I'm not really into the leather trapperkeeper style.

That is a TPU case. It is flexible but is more of a hard rubber type case. I could not find ANY soft silicone cases for the Nook HD+. There are a couple of decal type skins out there which applies on like the wet type screen protector. Don't know how well they protect. I'd go with the TPU if it's between the two.

I got the tpu case in today. Seems like shipping took forever. I give the case about a 7/10. Closest I could find to black was a smoke color. Its kind of a clear gray color. It fits, loosely. The sides are not very tight. Its not gonna fall off the tablet but its easy to roll the case off the sides with your thumbs. I can't speak for the drop protection, seems like it might be OK. Sure makes it easier to grip, and not bulky like the leather trapper keeper style cases.

Mine just came today. I found out that the same thing was listed on amazon by the sameguy for a couple of dollars cheaper (not that it was expensive to begin with). Same impression as you, it is loose and not that tight. Don't like the bottom where there is one very long opening for the sd card slot and data connector. Makes things very loose down there. Definitely less bulk than my cover, good for home use, but I would put on my cover whentaking it with me somewhere.

Silicone Case
I know this is an old thread but since it was pertinent...
I got the Poetic GraphGrip Silicone Case in black for my HD+. Fits well but does add a bit more bulk, mainly thickness wise, than other silicone covers I've used on other devices. The square graph pattern is pronounced. Edges and back are well protected. Seems like it will be great protection in anything but a flat fall directly on the screen. This is the only silicone sleeve I can find. I wish there was one without the graph pattern.
I have a folio type cover but will likely only use that if traveling. I prefer to use a dedicated stand at the desk or tabletop and so need protection on the device like this in combination with a zipper sleeve or bag for carrying.

I also purchased the Poetic Graph Grip Silicone case for the same reasons, and I'm glad I did. Some people complained that the bottom is loose but I do not see that, it has cut outs for the power cord and the memory card slot so when accessing the ports it will flex a little but it's definitely not loose. I found this sleeve on amazon that fits perfectly with the case.
http://www.amazon.com/Mivizu-Sleeve...e+for+Apple+iPad+5,+Amazon+Kindle+Fire+HD+8.9
The outside is nylon and feels very well made. The sleeve's height is spot on and only leaves about .75 extra space for the width.

[Q] Anyone tried the silicone cases?

It looks like the silicone cases are now available at B&N.com.
Does anyone have one of these? How is it? Specifically, how "tight" does it fit?
I've had silicone cases for other devices that were a little loose and it was really annoying...
thanks
I have the black/dark gray one. It fits pretty snug around the whole unit. I would recommend it until otterbox comes out.
I have the blue one and it fits great.
Yeah I got the black one and its awesome.
I have one and not a fan. I hate silicon cases but can't find anything else that's not so bulky. The fit is good but mine bubbles around the bezel a little.
Just got my storm color silicone case and over all it is great. I prefer TPU cases myself but this is all that is being offerd right now. Fit is pretty tight but it bubbles on the side edge which is typical with silicone cases.I guess it is better than nothing.

Me too. I love tpu cases... hopefully one comes out soon.
Here's another vote for the silicon case. It is lightweight and snug, has a nicely 'grippy' texture, and hides the slight creakiness of the NC's casing.
Due to that grippy nature, it only reluctantly slides into the soft recesses of my timbuk2 case, though.
TPU does sound like interesting stuff, judging from this review of a $5 HTC Ego TPU case and the wikipedia page on thermoplastic polyurethanes.
Any updates on these silicon skins? I want something lighter than a case.
I got this one.
I love the grippy-ness, and no longer having to worry about the nook sliding around in the car or off the couch, or having to worry about scuffing it up.
Overall it's a pretty decent fit; the opening on the bottom edge of the screen isn't perfect, but it's not bad, and certainly not enough to remove it or look for something else.
Oh, and it smelled like complete and utter azz for the first day or so, but the smell has completely dissipated since then.
Edit: finally got around to adding a bit of double-sided tape around the inside lip of the silicone cover... now it's a nice, tight, perfect fit. =)
I got that one as well. I love it. It did smell pretty damn bad the first day
Got the Storm one from B&N and love it. Just what I needed. Had the book style and like this one much better. Very convenient.
I have a blue one, just got it last week. I like it a lot and for all the reasons listed- it doesn't slide around, I can hold it in my hand without fear of dropping it, it is snug, it looks nice
They told me at the store that the NC + the silicone case would not fit in a case/cover/book. So I bought a neoprene case. I really like the combination. It fits snuggly inside the neoprene case with the silicone cover on.
I haven't found the *perfect* cover/book for - I've tried several and just can not decide. Until I find something, I like the combo I have now. I realize I might have to take the silicone case off in order for th NC to fit in a regular case, but I don't mind having a few accessories around that serve different purposes.
i too have a B&N black silicone case and love it. Fits perfectly (with the usual slight rising along the screen edges). Bought the neoprene ($20 one) case for it but returned it because i felt like it was too tight and sometimes it pulled on the silicone sleeve. Instead, i went over to best buy and purchased their multi-purpose neoprene case. The dimensions are slightly bigger than the B&N case so it fits perfectly with a good amount of snugg-ness/tightness and there is room to add a microfiber cloth in there too. picked it up for $20 also. It is from Rocketfish and i am very happy with it!

Yes!! I looked forever for a good cheap neoprene case and finally found the rockfish one 4 days ago. Im still hoping to go even cheaper through amazon but im so scared that the ones online wont fit with the silicone case. So far, i am loving it!

What's the product# or model# (or dimensions?) for that neoprene rocketfish sleeve one everyone's raving about? Or if someone has a link, that would be even better.
I'm interested in getting one, but need to make sure I get the right one online.
Thanks.

[Q] Thinnest Case?

Hi,
I am looking for a case that adds minimal bulk to the device. I would prefer something with a soft-touch finish, but not necessarily silicone.
So far, I have looked at the Seidio Surface, the SGP Ultra Silke, and the Rearth Ringke.
Does anyone know from experience which of these cases is thinnest?
Also, has anyone found other cases that will retain the slimness of the phone?
Thanks.
I dont know from experience but from reading these forums the incipio feather case maybe be the slimmest. Its hard case that snaps on but doesnt cover the top or bottom of the phone. I do got the Rearth Ringke which is awesome. The fit is great.

Thanks for the reply. Is the Rearth Ringke relatively slim as well?
Also interested in a slim case.
Its really not that bad. The fit is great and the texture it has is a nice touch. It has enough grip to keep it from slipping but slippery enough to keep lent and fingerprints off.

^That's good to know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for slim cases?
you could get these if you would consider a skin http://www.adreama.com/products/mobile-phone-skins/samsung/nexus-s
they're pretty damn thin, give good grip, protects the outside of your phone from scratches, and you get two so you can pick which color you prefer
I wish case mate would make a barely there case. There seems to be a huge demand for it.
incipio case quite slim, soft, and sexy.. the only drawback is it's quite fragile. my friend bought it awhile ago, he had SOD (sleep of death) many times using netarchy kernel and he had to remove the case to remove the battery. after a few remove, the case start to get loose and finally the case gave up and broke..

This seems interesting. I have found several cases identical to this on eBay for as little as $3 (like this andthis).
The material seems different than other TPU cases, and is just what I am looking for. Anyone else have a case similar to this (TPU, but with matte-finish rubberized rear)?

that second one looks just like the black one that you get in the two pack I posted. I actually think that the black one looks really bad with a black phone, but that's just my opinion.
I have the incipio feather case (black) and love it. Soft touch, great grip, and best of all no fingerprints. Not a tacky rubberized feel that sticks to everything (lint, hair). There is a little space at the top and bottom that isn't covered (bottom for port access) but it looks great. very slim. I bought the standard black case that best but had available on launch day and the crappy rubbery screen protector. Couldn't stand either one and dug out my g1 sleeve cover.
Bought the incipio because I hate the slick back of the phone. Been using it ever since.
I would disagree that it is fragile. I take it off and put it back on at least once a week and haven't had any loosening or breakage (after several months of use). Thing is still rock solid and fits perfectly snug.
hopefully this is helpful.
edit: although it is very thin and adds very little bulk, it is noticeable. With the case on, my phone no longer fits in my g1 sleeve and this makes me kind-of a sad panda.

How is your overall experience with the two-pack case that you posted? Does it add too much bulk to the device, or attract dust/lint?

The Feather seems to be a promising alternative to the other cases, mainly because I love the soft touch finish.

I actually think that the phone fits better in my hand with the case on. i'm not worried that i'm going to snap it in half on accident and it's only the tiniest bit bulkier than it normally would be.
I seem to notice little hairs and stuff accumulating right where the case stops, but it's easy enough to either wipe them off without removing the case or to just pull the case off and clean around the edges. overall, I think it's a great case. I added some before and after pictures so you could see how little bulk there is.
I also have the Incipio Feather Case and agree with discussion above. Actually have 2 for 2 phones.
Black is matte finish. Teal is not, but its not a hard, shiny plastic feel. I really like it, questioned buying but so tired of black (their other colors are
very bright, way too much for a mother of 3).
I was looking for the thinnest case possible and feel this is it.
The top and bottom is open so won't protect there, but has the corners.
The thing I love the most is the grip, felt the phone was too slick and just
waiting to drop. This solved that. I do not feel it is fragile, don't take off
that much, but have no problems using fingernail. It is tight, but that is good.
Would highly recommend. And if shopping on Ebay, there are some for $20
shipped. It states Nexus S (not specific for 4g, even on the box when you
receive it), but if it is Incipio, not knock off, it works.
sgp case is very good

Slim case that actually stays on the phone?

Question about those with slim cases. I have noticed that most of the slim cases are not snug at all four corners. I have two right now, the ringke slim and the elago slim, and both have issues that prevent me from using them.
The elago case doesn't fit snugly at the bottom right or left corner. It is very easy to press it off of the phone. The ringke doesn't fit well at all and when I pick the phone up the sides flex in and creak. That drives me nuts.
I'm looking for a slim hard case that actually fits well. It doesn't have to be paper thin, but I want it to actually fit snugly and almost be a challenge to remove. I am sort of anal about my cases and these kind of fitment issues drive me nuts.

Case-mate Tough (REVIEW) and Case-mate Pop! (REVIEW) will fit that category. Tough is ridiculously slim yet made of two layers, while Pop! is a molded two layers and to hard to remove that you need to push on the camera. Based on your description - those are definitely two cases!

I have the Speck Candyshell and I'm mostly satisfied with it (still searching for the right case). It's 1 piece, hard plastic along all edges, covers all 4 corners, and fits snug. It is slim given the 2 layer protection (plastic and silicone). Two things make me unhappy with it: 1) it has no grip and very slippery; 2) the black plastic shows every scratch (its also available in pink, which probably hides scratches better).
I may try the case below since it's similar to the Candyshell.

Thanks for the suggestions. So far I haven't been able to find one I really like. It seems like most companies are trying to go so thin that they aren't making a case that fits well.

Spigen SGP slim case. It fits very tightly (no moving or creaking), covers most of corner areas and comes with a great Spigen screen protector. Only $20.
Thanks, I just ordered the Spigen. I will see how it feels. I couldn't stand the elago, the corners would almost slide off with no effort. I'm used to a very strong click when a case pops into place, and that case not moving unless I basically pry it off.

I use a Mercury pink case I got from Amazon, which is slim and snug. The right corner is exposed, but it doesn't interfere with the phone staying in place at all. There's different colors sold separately or two sold together.

Get this case! Fits slim and great, great feel and decent protection. Very slim and pretty good grip. I have gotten 4 cases and this one easily wins hands down. $20 may seem a bit steep, but it is well built and you won't regret it!

I own several cases now, but sometimes cheap and simple ends up beating the rest. The one I use more often is still the X-Line TPU. It is ridiculously cheap but a very tight fit and with a very good texture that really gives extra grip. It also looks pretty good, which is surprising for cheap TPUs. I strongly recommend it.

This is a good, snug, and fairly slim TPU case that I got after trying and returning the Ringke and others: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009WDWBH6/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I picked up that case last week, and have been using it ever since. It's very snug on the phone, but still easy to get on or off as needed. The holes line up perfectly, it's very comfortable to hold, plenty grippy, and looks much nicer than the $3 price tag. Back is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but not a terrible lint collector. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone at all.

I have one of those ultra thin 0.5mm cases that's almost not like having a case at all. I don't ever drop my phone, but prefer to run one of these cases to prevent scratches on the phone. Best of all, it's under $2 shipped, and doesn't have any open edges, which makes it stay on the phone very well.
I can't post links due to post count, but just search on ebay for, "Black Ultra Thin Semi Clear Plastic Cover Case Samsung Galaxy Note 2"
I use the elago G6 slim case and I absolutely love it.
I've never had a problem with it popping off and I'm not overly gentle with it. Everyone uses their phone differently and it obviously didn't work for the OP, but I just wanted to stick up for it a little bit.

BobjGear Silicone Case

Having two young boys (2 & 5), who enjoy rough housing and android tablets, I felt the need to have a more durable case for my n10. Since January, I have been using a poetic revolution case. The poetic was fine, but I scratched up the screen cover and wanted something else. I decided to try the BobjGear case. This is my opinion of the case.
The case is a simple silicon design, heavy around the the perimeter, setting the screen and back of the tablet into the plane of the case about 3/16". The ports are plenty accessible and the cameras and speakers are unobstructed. Due to the silicone being thin in certain areas, the space between the screen and the speaker feels flimsy. The same problem exists between the speaker and the ports for the usb/headphones and the hdmi. There is a air space that forms between the back of the tablet and the inside of the case which might be found annoying as it makes the back feel a little insecure and wiggly. There is no screen protection other than the space between the plane of the front edge of the rubber and the glass so an additional screen protector may be necessary. The case adds considerably to the thickness and weight of the tablet.
I feel that the spots of flimsiness and wiggliness don't really take away from the protection. The gains in thickness and weight were expected and don't bother me. Personally, I am very happy with the protection provided by the BobjGear case and would recommend it.

A couple of Horizontal holster case that fits G2+ slim case

The search function doesn't seem to be working right now.
Anyone know of a good horizontal holster case that will also fit a g2 + one of those slim cases like the Insidio feather cases?
I nee to know this too!
so far I found this pricey leather case that fits an S4 with a hard cover. Would probably fit the G2 with a hard case but it's very pricey.

Check out my post. There is a link to eBay. If you look at the pouches he offers. Just about any thing that fits a note 2/3 without a case will fit the G2 with a case I ordered 3 of them. All different. But they work with a ballistic gel case. Which is quite thick. Good luck.

So far the poetic slim hard case is great. Nice feel. Someone thought the case was part of the phone because it was slim and look natural. The case + g2 fit perfectly inside the reiko case. It's not snug and has room to breath and so makes it easy to remove the phone with the case. You could prob add a gel protector and it still fits in the case. Case was made for s3/s4. Best part of the case: the lid magnet is strong enough that the phone will not just fall out if it falls. Love the strong closure. Still waiting on the next "easy to remove" case to arrive.

So I got the second case and I love it better than the first. When I first saw it, I thought it was a weird design to have a middle just missing from the case. But when I got the case I thought it was the perfect design. No more having to push my phone up from the bottom and grabbing a piece of it to pull it out (with the idea that I might drop it one day). With this case, I just get a good grip on the phone and just pull the phone right out. Look at the third picture and you'll see what I mean. The case is built very well and rigid. I have the Poetic Palette slim case that points outwards so my phone is protected on the small piece that is exposed. The magnetic lid is strong enough that a good shake doesn't make the phone fall out. The g2 + slim case fit perfectly in this case. The amount of space available is just right to the point that the phone can freely come out the case when you pull up; now snugness, just the right amount of space. I don't know if a gel tpu case would fit with this case if used with the g2.
This horizontal pouch is my #1 for this phone; the other pouch is a back-up now. Maybe I'll get a gel tpu case to complement the 2nd case and use it when I need extra protection like when hiking or something.
Just my observation, I think any case that fits the Note 2/3 would be a just a little big for this phone. I think cases that fit the S4 would work with this phone.
