[Q] Flashing a I9305T rom onto a I9305 S3 - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi guys,
I bought a I9305 from Kogan which is a Hong King version. I use a Telstra network and the phone looses connection to the network intermittently and signal reception does not seem to be up to scratch. I'm comparing this to my iPhone 4 which never did this.. This is my first android smartphone so I have no idea on how to do anything to be honest. I love the phone but the network connection instability is really annoying.
I have a two part question:
1. Is anyone else in the same situation and if you fixed it what did you do.
2. Could I flash the phone with the I9305T ROM or would you suggest only flashing the modem software??
Please help...

Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010116 and try one of the 2 telstra modems for I9305T

Nahh the phone has not been changed in any way.. I was thinking of doing that but I can not find any information if that was done before and it would work. Lots of people flash their I9305T with international rom but not the other way around.. I don't want to brake the phone?..

You can flash any I9305 ROM on to your phone. The T bit is just some added carrier bloatware. You will most likely et much better connectivity using a Telstra specific modem. So really your choices are to root and flash just the modem or to flash the official Telstra ROM. I don't like the official versions because they add so many useless apps that you don't need

For all others that come across the same situation.
Yes you can flash the Telstra software on the I9305. I did it to mine and so far everything forks fine. Signal strength is great as expected and I have not experiences the network drop-outs since the flash.
The phone now lists it as a GT-I9305T.

Are you paying for a 4g plan or just regular 3g like me?
I get drop of net but i fixed it easily by going to Settings -》More options -》Network settings -》Networke mode.
And changed it to Wcdma only or auto. Shoose what ever mode that dont have lte in it.
Im a little bit unsure about the menu names cous I translated it from swedish.

Did you end up flashing a GT-I9305T modem? Did it work? If you just flashed a stock rom and you don't know, you can find out by typing *#1234# in the dialer, if it says I9305T under CP then you have flashed an I9305T modem.

Hey bud, which Firmware/Modem did you use? I checked http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ for the official download and telstra wasn't listed there, as I'm having the exact same problems as you with a HK handset on telstra. I'm so close to just flicking this handset because of it.

You have to select I9305T as your phone model and than the telstra version will be available. However I might have to add that after I posted yesterday that same afternoon the phone dropped of the network completely as it used to do before and the restart was required to get it up and running good again. I will give it a few more days to see if it does it again.
I was holding the phone in the way that 3 sides were completely covered by hands so I'm unsure if this is what caused the loss of connection. I think a thread about this would be good to see how many people with the same phone are having this issue.

Ok, so I flashed the telstra I9305T firmware, probably worse than before.
So when I bought my phone in HK it came sealed in a French (Orange Network) Box with a euro wall plug. I thought it was a bit strange but didn't bother me, tho the handset had HK firmware and CSC. So I thought why not and downloaded the france Orange 4.1.2 firmware from samfirmware and flashed it with Odin. And funnily enough so far its been brilliant on telstra and its jellybean 4.1.2 so its got multi-window etc, I get way better 4G coverage and speeds and no drop outs. So far so good! im stoked. It has minimal bloatware - like 2-3 apps, And it even fixed another bug I had previously had on the HK firmware where I used swiftkey keyboard then after every reboot it would default back to Samsung Chinese IME keyboard.

Based on this, so I guess I will have no problems putting the i9305T ROM from Brazil on my i9305 phone, right?

Hi there.
Sorry to bother you but I was just wondering where you downloaded your
Telstra rom? Cause I have tried a couple that's already out there
But no success and yours sounds like the perfect rom for telstra 4g phone.
Could you please help me out I would really appreciate it .
Thank you .

Ok I have a question which will probably blow your mind out of the water.... I have the I9305T model and have been playing around and flashed I9305 firmware on the device in order to flash JB 4.3 on my device. It has become a bit unstable. How could I revert back to the I9305T config? I have tried flashing that firmware but it is a no go. I keep getting the Unsupported Version error
I have tried emergency recovery in KIES and I have tried flashing with Odin.
Any way I can revert back to the old? I used to run 4.1.2 on the device

Help with installing suitable rom GT-19305T
I am trying to fix a GT-19305t by flashing.
From the beginning
The battery started to fail. Bought a new battery and after charging and starting up the phone refused to work. I managed to get it in recovery menu after looking online.
I have tried using odin to fix. I did get a pass green message when i tried but the phone still wont work . It starts but just says in download mode do not switch off etc.
Whats confusing me a bit is that this is a Vodafone phone not telstra so how come it has the T at the end. This makes me wonder if I used the incorrect rom.
Any help please I have tried about forty hours of research and trial so far.
exhausted
I have specific questions
1 What is a good rom to use (I have searched for tens of hours and keep going in circles.) Also when I have unzipped some there is no recognisable file for Odin to use?
2 Am I doing the process correctly. it seems straightforward.
Dan

Which ROM have you flashed? After you have flashed the ROM via odin you have to boot into recovery, do a factory reset and then restart the phone. Then it should boot up fine.
What zips are you talking about? Sounds more like you downloaded custom roms, which are zips but they are flashed via a custom recovery.

[Q] Telstra i9000 firmware revert

Hey,
Got a i9000t and went a bit to far with the Telstra bloat ware kill. Now cant seem to download anything from market and also get a "com.google.process.gapps" error on start up.
I figured re-flashing the original firmware via kies would be a given.
I was wrong.
Any idea's on how to revert back to the out of the box Telstra bloat ware and start again?
I've found the reg edit way for the optus firmware codes and the canadian firmware but would prefer to go back to telstra.
Any advice would be great I'm at a loss.
before we begin... can you confirm your 3 buttons to be working?
once you get the 3 buttons to work into Download Mode
you are safe to flash with Odin
then you can even install another ROM to recreate all the missing stuff you deleted
you need to select the Re-Parition option
depending on what you download from Kies, some ROM will and will not repartition depending on the options specified in the package from factory
so it seems like the one you were trying to re-install didn't have that enable so it did not restore the other stuff you were hoping to get back by installing the ROM
You can try flashing the JH2 ROM, then you can revert back to another version you like after that
Telstra i9000 has a 850Mhz radio too, so you may need to keep that in mind when flashing...
As to your question, you'd have to find the original Telstra firmware to flash it, and I don't think there is any around, since it's just come out. You'll probably have to find some alternate firmware to flash unfortunately. Check what version you're running if you want to try and match it, but the Telstra stuff you deleted is gone for now.
Otherwise, someone with the Telstra version may be able to provide you with a nandroid backup to restore, but there probably aren't many people who have the Telstra version at this early stage (OT - I'm surprised to hear people actually taking up their insane pricing for the SGS).
It's a little late for this advice, but I'm sure you'll heed it in future: get yourself Titanium Backup, and ROM Manager and take full backups before you go messing around with /system.
3 button restore is working. Lucky me got a good one.
I ended up just tracking down the apps I shouldn't have deleted and was lucky to get it back.
There's still no one out there who's put up the Telsta rom so I think I might make a back up now
BTW I got the sgs on the $49 + $16 handset which gives me $400 worth of calls but only 200mb. The plans were not as bad as originally feared.
I hate Telstra but the coverage is second to none and I require it for work. The price isn't that bad for what you get.
Thanks for your advice at least I know what to do when a decent rom comes out now.

$65 p/m with 200mb of data is pretty terrible (for me at least). I was really hoping they'd be more competitive, because - as you say - their network really is the only reliable network in the country, but I'm only on a 12 mth contract, so hopefully they sort their act out next year
Glad to hear you got sorted in any case.
Plus,the Telstra SGS is the 8GB model,correct?
Yeah,
Another little kick in the nuts. They only stock the 8gig model.
Still haven't looked into if a larger SD card can still take it to 32gig total like the others.
Hope so.

I flashed my i9000T, with telstra firmware, FW only,
it reboots and errors, so I did a wipe via recovery, then a cache wipe.
reboots and goes to the Telstra NextG splash screen, then to the "S" screen, does the Samsung sound then goes blank – menu and back buttons will glow white if touched but nothing else
Which is the problem ?
thanks
Used 512 pit

[Q] NO GPS related to stock rom baseband? (philippines) need help!;)

Greeting XDA Devs!
Here's my situation. As you can see my GPS does not lock on my N7000 and could not even find a satellite. I've tried a lot of fixes from the play store including AGPS patches. even modified gps.conf from system/etc though i backed up the original one. unfortunately GPS wont lock. I've flashed Angry Vt1 with the OTA update before. but I thought restoring to an earlier and stock rom would help, I restored to IMM76D.DXLR5 build with N7000DXLR1 baseband flashed Philzdxlr safe kernel with my Note but still it doesnt lock only finds my location if i turn on the mobile data but whenever I use a Navigation app "waze" and Google Maps the location where I turn it on doesnt move while im driving.
I Live here in the Philippines i even tried changing the NTP server to ph.pool.ntp.org unfortunately no results. Tried rebooting like hell nothing helped. I found some Stock ICS roms from "dr.ketan" for my country though it has a carrier indicated in it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
like this:
N7000DXLR5---4.0.4/12.07.30-N7000OLBLR2---Download--Philippines (Sun)
N7000DXLP9---4.0.3/12.05---N7000OLBLP6---Download--- Philippines (Sun)
N7000DXLR5---4.0.4/12.07.30-N7000OLBLR2---Download--Philippines (Smart)
N7000DXLP9---4.0.3/12.05---N7000OLBLP6---Download--- Philippines (Smart)
ive not tried it since im afraid its carrier is locked to the indicated one.does it?
I used to own another N7000 which ran CM10, PAJELLYBAM. but sold it since I have a new Note with ongoing warranty. which I had no problems with its GPS. unfortunately i cant recall what stock rom was in my new note for restocking purposes since i impulsively flashed Angry VT1. i experienced ANGRY VT1 and im never going back to Cyanogen.
So it ends with my basic question for my pursuit of the fix does reflashing other stock roms from other country will fix my gps? currently im downloading JZO54K.N7000XXLSC which was posted by chronosmachine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992573 i wanted XXLSC as stock since ill return back to ANGRYvt1 rom. Does anyone know whats the best stock rom there is? (what i mean best is the fewest issues that goes with the rom, so that maybe i could put an end to this gps dilemma)
Any ideas anyone?
Thank you and good day:good:
Today i tried another fix which is more about the innards of my note. Prying it open and slightly bending the gps antenna. Still nothing. Sigh. I found it in the at&t gnote thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973727 i was convinced to do it because almost everyone who did it Worked. Im sending it to a service center later im afraid its hardware issue like the gps module.
Question if you have a device which is rooted with a voided warranty will the official samsung service center still repair your phone? Or do i still have to restock and unroot?(im sorry if i voided it myself i just like learning at whatever cost)

Gps will not be affected by flashing different rom, maybe radio will affect it but does sound like hardware problem. If you're sending it in, you'll need to flash stock gb rom via pc odin after erasing flash counter. Service won't honour warranty if it has raised flash counter and/or root.
You don't need to unroot, just flashing 3 part stock rom will remove root.

It's probably best to flash one with your csc that was on it originally. In theory you can flash any but to be safe as houses, best to stick with the original csc. If you don't know your original csc (I'm guessing phillipines doesn't have its own?) then any will do.

Need to install Latin American modem on I8190

Hi, I bought the I8910 from German Amazon and my girlfriend brought it to Ecuador for me. Little did I know the phone doesn't pick up any 3g coverage, only edge, which means I have a glorified iPod in my hands. I've tried many things without success and I was wondering if someone here could help me put the modem from the UBAMA1 build or the whole firmware (so far I've only managed to get a Fail message on Odin when it starts installing the modem)

I'm not sure you can turn a i8190 to a i8190L just by changing modem. Maybe thats why odin fails. I don't know..just a thought.

I have exactly the same issue, the only difference is that Im in Mexico, did you find a solution for this? if yes please let me know.
Thnak you

keep losing data, is there a baseband update?

For a while now my galaxy note has been losing mobile internet.
Ive noticed that data just stops working, sometimes i will lose the letter indicator is (H or 3G) but i can still make calls. Other times the indicator will still be there but data wont work. This happens maybe once every couple of days
I know its not the rom as it happened when i used slimbean and also happens on cyanogenmod.
I know its not the carrier as it happened when i was with T Mobile up until last month. Im on Three now and it does it just as much.
to rectify it i have to either switch off data then back on, if this doesnt work, i try aeroplane mode, if thise doesnt work i have to reboot the phone. If i reboot then data comes back straight away.
I wondered if an upgrade to the baseband would help. im on N7000XXLT3. my phone is unbranded and unlocked and was originally on TMobile when purchased.
I found this article:
http://androidromupdate.com/2013/07...xxlt9-landed-in-uk-samsung-galaxy-note-n7000/
which states

[Q] 4g problem i9305

Can somebody help me with this 4g problem?
This is what i did:
1.flashed custom ROM (worked like a charm,i did nandroid backup)
2.flashed other custom ROM (didnt like it so I restored the first one from nandroid)
3.everything went well except no imei and no baseband
4.reverted back to stock rom with odin
5.and here is the problem,no 4g signal at all. 3g/2g works fine.
If I post my build.prop can somebody tell me whats wrong?
I have tried to put my sim card in other phone and it works but not in my phone.
Did you enable 4G in Settings?

Yes, I did...network mode is set to LTE
Is there a test that I can use to test is it a software or hardware issue?
Maybe an issue of Stock rom you flashed using odin.. Which one exactly have yoi flashed? What modem you have now? And finally, is your S3 i9305 or some i9305T variant?
Check this out:
Typ *#*#4636#*#* and goto Netinformation, then you will find a special-setup for the 2G 3G & 4G.

Thanks for your replies,I flashed stock german 4.4.4 from sammobile. It worked very good about 2 months.
I think that modem is xxufoa1 and version of phone is i9305 lte international.
If somebody could help me with this issue,I would appreciate that. But no hurries,I got new playmate S6 edge...
try doing a complete wipe of data and cache, then flash stock rom again to see if problem persists
I have tried many times but no help...
Hey, try flashing the parambin.zip file (look for it on google related to s3 lte, you'll find it easily). Another thing to try is just wait with the phone turned on with a valid SIM. I found out that sometimes it delayed a lot to get signal, specially when changing SIM carriers on another country. After a while waiting it finally succeeded (probably unrelated but I also saw on the catlog entries about upgrading the sahara file of the qualcomm chip -the modem-).
