[Q] USB-Ethernet via OTG, need help - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i bought a otg-cable (from samsung, for galaxy tab and s2) and connected my logitech k260 mouse and keyboard:
it works well, without any drivers!
secondly i connected a delock usb-ethernet-adapter with MCS7830-chip. i disabled wifi and data, but unfortunately i could not establish an internet-connection via ethernet-cable. i have a mcs7830.ko-file, but i don't know how to install it on my galaxy camera. any ideas?

It will need to be supported in the kernel I believe, don't think you're going to get it working with just the file on it's own.

would this work? it' for ICS, but probably it also works for jellybean: https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-93626
i did some research and found out that unfortunately samsung removed ethernet support from some android devices, including the galaxy camera. therefore there is no ethernet on/off-switch in the network-settings.
is there a possibility to add it manually?

Nexus S bluetooth imp=wiimote?galaxys?

Hi all,
I have heard that the Nexus S works with Wiimote controller.apk and that users are succesfully using the wiimotes with their devices.
I am under the impression that both devices have the same bluetooth and wifi chips, does anyone know if any smart person has worked out a way to get the Wiimotes working with galaxy S, or ported the drivers etc?
I am using DArky V8 and BT mouse/keyboard are working well.
bump bump bump
Bump. This would be nice to get working with n64oid.
subscribing and bumping! this will be the icing on the cake if we can get this resolved. And no CM7 is not the answer as tv out does not work, at least not at the moment.

I have tried tons of things to get this to work and even killed three rom load outs. simply replacing files wont do it.
as of now with a 2.2 rom you can see the wiimote and get all the way to where you are asked to use a passkey, but the passkey is not skippable. Also the apps that are in the market are no longer either supported or updated, but now that Galaxy S devices have the HID capabilities it would be nice if one of those dev's look at the device to get it to work.
Isn't it something to do with TouchWiz????
I think I read that somewhere
It works in cyanogenmod7.
Any progress

yes but CM7 is not stable yet.
I dont think any1 want to flash a new rom just to play some games with a wiimote and then flash another rom to use the "needed" parts of the phone, like the camera, 2g/3g etc.
To bad i would give a good donation if a dev would support this on the sgs
Any progress?

[Q] [Zeus 7.03] Does Zeus support usb tethering?

Is it a feature that no GB Rom can support?
I am using PdaNet (Free) but it limit to http but not https connection.
ICS got native usb tethering. But ICS is not stable. My phone shutdown automatically just some minutes ago with KU5900 repack.

I tried to implement it but failed... it produced BSODs on my Win7x64...
To say that Clockworkmod Tether works fine on our phone... but it's a pay app... and needs an app installed on PC too...
One of the problems of Wifi Tether is that WiFi spot is battery hungry... but if you use USB tether... you have to connect your phone... so... Why don't connect your phone to PC via cable and then use WiFi hotspot???

I downloaded a lot of ( 3-4 ) app which is free and all of them are either doesn't work or doesn't seems to support https.
PdaNet Free Edition work nicely but its HTTPS function is only for premium.
I think it is ridiculous that ICS got native USB tethering for free while GB doesn't.
Is there anything I can help huexxx? I am a programmer but I don't know much about android programming.

Android Screecast or alternative

Hi guys, since some day, I thought i could be interesting to use and manage our Note by our pc, maybe while it's connected for a charge. I searched everywhere, and in the end I found a program (but not really)... Android screencast. Connecting the mobile by a usb cable to a pc, and running some adb comands, it should be allow us to manage our mobile from our pc, using our keyboard and our mouse also. Now, I don't know if this little program (android screencast is a little java script) is updated to work with our note, but I followed all the instructions, and I'm not able to use keyboard or mouse. I just can see the display on my note though my pc, but I cannot interact in anyway with it.
Now, anyone already used this program? Anyone know an alternative program to do what I wish to?
Thanks in advance

Interesting app! But it works only with stock rom I guess. Yesterday I found another app, MyMobilier (for pc). Once time you connect your note by usb, mymobilier install an app on your note also and it works greatly. You can control your note totally, using mouse and keyboard pc

USB Tether Question.

Is there a way to get it without going to a CM-based ROM? I prefer wired over wireless.
Have yet to test this but when I looked into this myself, it supports usb tethering built into the phone already. It looks like you just need HTC sync manager installed. I think pdanet will also work, but I still need to download the software for pc.
I'm more interested in a wireless method without root but doesn't look possible. I want to tether my tablet, not laptop.

WiFi direct isn't working on any of our custom Roms, as far as I know. However, a good substitute is Software Data Cable https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.damiapp.softdatacable, it works like WiFi direct. You'll need to install this on both devices, this app can also transfer files between your Android and PC.

i meant, how do you use it, is it by qr code or ip address?
FTP. It works similar to WiFi direct and Bluetooth. 1 device starts a share network using its own WiFi hotspot, the other picks up the hotspot and joins the network. Then you get a browser to share files at good speed.
This does not use your data. If you're worried about it, you can turn off your mobile network and try it.
